Very unprofessional the receptionists act like they dont want to be bothered and my kids and myself were given a covid test and during the process of waiting for the results we had to leave due to a emergency. I returned about 2 or 3 hours later and they refused to give me the results said they would charge me for the visit and if I wanted results I had to take another test and be charged. Im sure the insurance company will have an issue with this. I do not recommend this place for not even a Band-Aid! Tested positive at another location the next day

The reception area is extremely chatty with each other. Waiting area is subject to all of their lengthy conversations

Spent 2 hours there, seemed to be extremely slow, that was the least of my concerns cause I know hospital staff have a lot to do. Then the DR comes in the room over a hour later just to tell me she’ll be back with results I needed. Never came back, nurse never came back, no explanation or reassurance from hospital that I was ok. Sent in a paramedic to give me my discharge papers, gave me a prescription that I can’t even take due to sensitivity to medication they prescribed. Doctor/Nurse didn’t even come into room to tell me what they found otherwise I would’ve been able to explain that problem. Found out my diagnosis and prescription through discharge papers. Worst experience I’ve ever had at an ER.

2 star for friendly staff, not medical services! Had to seek additional medical attention the next day and was placed in a boot. I called to request pickup for x-ray or have the chart forwarded to my PCM. I was told once I leave I would need to be re-seen by a doctor there and have another x-ray or else go to the downtown St. Vincents record dept. Even in dire emergency, I would pick the local veterinarian over this emergency center.

I have a very rare autonomic nerve disorder, Multiple System Atrophy Dysautonomia, that most medical professionals have never even heard of. This makes my heart rhythm prone to be very erratic and unstable. Went in last night by ambulance with SVT, was treated kindly by nurses but doctor was very short with me and obviously didnt like being told by a mere mortal about a disorder he had never heard of. Took me six years to get diagnosed and emergency rooms are a nightmare for me. Anyway, I was initially told, because of my history they were transporting me to the main hospital because of the serious nature of my irregular heart rhythm along with my history but as soon as they found out I had lost my insurance due to the pandemic that abruptly changed. I was then told they had stabilized me and I needed to see a cardiologist ASAP. He just acted like he had never mentioned they were going to keep me, when my husband and I were both told they were. I was dismissed and discharged. My heart went into SVT again today and my O2 dropped into the 70s. I am lucky to be alive, no thanks to them. Will not be returning.

My experience at this place was to say the least horrible. From the front entrance to getting discharged. Coming to the ER with so much pain and to be treated like I was on drugs by all of the staff starting from the doctor. So unprofessional. Was told to give a urine sample and never was given a sample cup but they made it seem Iike i was not complying. Sad to say a hospital that is motive is compassion had none for their patients.

My experience at Ascension St. Vincents Westside ER, was nothing but positive. Dr. Marcantonio was very understanding and listened to my health concerns. She then ordered a treatment plan that addressed each issue discussed! All of the staff was very helpful and friendly. They all made me feel very comfortable and relaxed in an otherwise stressful situation.

All I can say is WOW. I came in for chest pain and was met with the best doctor. Dr. Marcantonio showed her utmost attention to what my problem was quick to get me looked at. The nurses John and Autumn let my wife sit with me and gave her warm blankets because it was so cold in there and to be honest I was very nervous. Walter got my ekg and notified the doctor immediately. I was transferred to another hospital, but all I can is the staff at collins mad me not afraid to go to the doctor anymore.

Check in and Triage were good at this ER. The MA gave instructions that I should get undressed from the waist up so they can check or conduct what I thought would be an MRI of my lower back pain. 30 seconds later the “doctor” abruptly enters the area without knocking questioning me condescending my concerns and raising his voice while I attempted to explain my concerns. Why was there a problem with my ER visit? He said I didn’t need emergency care and continued questioning who my doctor was and who sent me there and continued to make me feel very uneasy, uncomfortable, inconvenienced. I plan on filing a formal grievance on this person who did not display the care and concern St Vincent’s Ascension ER regularly advertises.

Staff was okay during my visit, they just did the bare minimum of their job in my opinion. They sort of treated me as if I was being dramatic and nothing was wrong, didn’t run any test, just asked questions and gave a mild answer and sent me on my way. African American women just be cautious of going to this ER. They could careless about our wellbeing. I went to another ER and got an actual answer and they treated me as a human being. I thank God I did because my condition wasn’t “mild” after test were ran. Just be careful.
