The Nurse was very gentle and patient with my child when she did the Rapid Covid swab. The results were quick too. Highly Recommend!

I love this facility, the doctors actually care I honestly wish the doctors here had a primary care practice, I know everyone needs a primary care physician but I much prefer these doctors to my primary care position lol. My appointment was at 1pm they called me back right at 1pm. With the waiting room full and people waiting outside as well the staff was still able to handle everything and still be on time. And the doctor was so amazing he have a big heart he most definitely loves what he do. The staff awesome as well. Front Desk was so nice. Even towards patients walking in trying to get same day appointment. They wasnt rude at all to the patient they help him get a drive through appointment for the next day. I work in health care(Dental office) so I pay attention to everything. I would definitely recommend Avecina Medical on Southside Blvd to my friends and family.

I have been here a handful of times for Covid tests and this time was no different. I like coming here because it feels safe and more like a family. The nurses and PA staff are calm, gentle and super friendly!I got in and out pretty quick. My 4 year old daughter was with me this time and as we were leaving one of the nurses (Angela?) asked if she wanted a baby doll...of course she got excited and we mentioned she has a baby sister at home so when she returned she had a doll for each of my girls!!!The girl at the desk also gave her a sheet of stickers...and also one for her sister!This made such a deep impact on me and she was overjoyed! Apparently they have quite a few kids needing to tag along with their parents and they are prepared to make everyone feel safe and calm!I will continue going there for sure!!!

I had my COVID test in Avecina Southside, and the experience in all the process was great. The front desk ladies, the nurse and the attendant Nurse Practitioner were very attentive and nice with me. They test was quick and they explained everything that I needed to know and what to expect. I would recommend this place to everyone.

They have since required appointments for Covid testing since my last covid test here and I think it’s made a drastic improvement. I was in an out within 10 minutes and it was very pleasant. The doctor I saw today was extremely nice, caring, and thorough and I highly recommend her to anyone. The staff at the front desk was also very nice and overall it was a great experience.

Had to take in my 5 year old for a covid test. Scheduled the appointment online and we only waited a few minutes. The staff was sooo friendly and made her feel very comfortable. She was scared and did not want to do the test. Both the front desk staff and the medical assistant performing the test did their best to make her feel comfortable.

They dont try to force the Covid-19 experimental medical treatment (the vaccines) on you if you have the antibody natural immunity. Nice to see a place that follows real science. Very nice people and great service

This was my first time going to urgent care, I’ve always been a little apprehensive about places like this but I was pleasantly surprised. They are VERY professional and the customer service is EXCELLENT. I definitely recommend them and will be back if need be.

From the time I walked in these ladies were so nice and friendly! The gentleman that took care of me was nice also! The provider there was awesome and very nice! With being in the medical field myself he and I talked about how things are getting out of hand with the viruses and health precautions! He was really cool! I had an 11:10 AM appointment for a rapid Covid-19 test. My husband went to CVS last night for a rapid test and was in and out in 10 minutes. He was contacted with his results 10 minutes after that. This is my first rapid test so I have no other comparison except his experience, but it is now It’s 11:55 AM and I am still in a room waiting to see a doctor (see photo which was posted in the room). I’ve also been told I will be contacted in a couple of hours with my results.

I walk in for an emergency at another urgent care and did not let me walk in to be attended. I called Avecina Medical Southside and explained my emergency and they accepted my emergency visit. The personnel very courteous, professional, human being and oriented. I strongly recommend Avecina Medical Southside.

This has got to be the best urgent care I’ve ever been to. I went in on a Sunday & it was pretty busy but they made sure everyone kept a safe distance & had a mask on. I felt super comfortable here & they were so helpful. I will only go to Avecina from now on, 11/10 recommend!!

Went this morning for a pre-travel covid test, the check-in was very efficient, the staff including the PA who performed my test were very positive and friendly, I was out of there within 15 minutes and the test results came back a couple hours later. Overall, a great experience.

I wasnt happy with my visit as far as medical care. They were fast, polite, and saw me in about 30 minutes. I had a kidney stone and was prescribed naproxen 500 and promethazine 12.5. I received a steroid and toradol gluteal injection in office. No IV for fluids, no zofran for nausea. Blood was seen in my uterine, but no antibiotics for possible infection. No referral to urology (although this is done in the ER/ED) beause now only your primary can refer to specialty. No flomax. No imaging. Ive been in pain and nauseous all day. This is my first time at urgent care for this and I am a Kidney Stone ER/ED veteran with this being at least my 8th one. I feel like standard protocol could have been a lot better. When I told a friend of mine thats a nurse practitioner of the care here, she said try Crucial Care next time and that Avecina seems to have an odd protocol with a recommendation to call back. I did so and upon requesting flomax, they said thats not usually protocol, but said she would send it in. Although they were fast and nice, I am displeased with overall medical care.Response to owner: 8/5/2021 11:10pmYour response is a form of passive aggressiveness and rude which perplexes me. Im well aware of where Im welcomed and how much money is in my account and the thousands of dollars Ive happily paid (on time) going to the ER in the past for quality care that wasnt treated like a red headed step child secondary to covid. Fun fact my copay is $1600 for the ER and I wouldnt have enrolled in a plan that I couldnt afford (in my Tabitha Brown voice but thats my business.). Genuinely thank you for your concern and providing the community with affordable healthcare, because that is rare in this age. U stated imaging isnt required. Let me reiterate just because something isnt required doesnt mean it is best practice. I could have a huge stone...we wouldnt know that at this point because it wasnt assessed and I would end up paying more by coming to you first vs then going to the ER initially. Best practice would have also given IV fluids. As far as covid protocols I failed to mention in my initial review that a gentleman had a neck gaitor on (at one point I think the evidence said its the least protective barrier although some protection is better than none), beet red, coughing, and not covering his mouth and not at one point did any staff ask him to cover his mouth or step out of the waiting room. There was absolutely no social distancing protocols in the waiting room, so an IV infusion is the least of my worries. I chose to step out and request a call, which your awesome receptionist honored. Also, let me remind you, that a comprehensive medical history was not obtained, no one asked how long Ive had symptoms, I reported that Ive been trying to deal with symptoms myself at home and that as of today symptoms were unbearable. How you all decided to document that is up to you because as you know if it wasnt on paper it didnt happen. My care should not be compromised or downgraded because of the influx of covid patients. Lets be mindful that A.) The hospitals are full of covid patients critical and noncritical and B.) Thats why I chose you all because I know they are full and need quick AND quality care...not just quick. My loved one just went to St. Vincents South with Covid, they had no beds, and he sat for 4 hours only to have his temperature checked. He walked out and went home. There is off label use for flomax in women and many peer reviewed journals evidencing that as well as the many dangers in women too, but i did well with it in the past. I would also have to know to ask for zofran to get it...are you the doctor or am I? People come in not knowing what they are entitled to by asking. Im truly thank you for the quickness and excellent staff. I implore you to reevaluate your quality as well and not consider those without covid the red-headed stepchild. Thank you for your quick response as well. Have a lovely evening and I pray that you and your staff stay safe as they were all very nice. Thank you once again.

Everyone here is super pleasant! I’d go here over any other urgent care places in town. And they’re always running right on time (or very close) which is great when I have a busy day and can’t afford to wait around.

My testing experience for Covid was great. The office staff were super friendly and efficient. Tim, the tech who took my samples, was very kind and patient in answering all the questions I had. I wound up having to go back and re-test just to ensure I did not have a false negative. Both appointments were phenomenal, very quick and easy. I would highly recommend Avecina.

Great place! We were welcomed at the front desk and told we could wait in the car for our appointment. Our family of 7 was called back in and tested all together! Happened to arrive 30 minutes early because I did not know how long it was going to take me to get there. They allowed me to go earlier than my appointment and it was so easy and quick. Total of 5 minutes from pulling into the parking lot to leaving. It happened to be my birthday and they sang me happy birthday too! Great people working there. Thank you Avecina!

My 24 old son went camping and got a tick on his upper, inside arm. When he felt it, he just pulled it off, leaving the head inside his skin. I took him up to Avencina and he paid $140, he doesn’t have insurance. They took him to the back, barely spoke to him at all, wiped it off with alcohol, put a bandaid on it and said, “you’re good to go”. When he asked questions, she said she would send in a prescription for antibiotics. We went to CVS to pick up the prescription and, of course, it was never sent! Another thing, we went up there because the spot looks worse than it has since it happened and the lady at Avencina said, “it looks like it’s healing up”.I would never go here again for anything except maybe directions to a real doctor’s office.

Good customer service and fast with appt!

My experience here was not a good one. As someone else noted, I had made an appointment only to be kept waiting in a waiting room FULL of people. One of the employees was walking around with her masked pulled down under her chin. Anyone who didnt have COVID before they came probably did when they left. When I expressed my concern, I was met with anger, hostility and rudeness (see below). I was NEVER rude to their staff, I simply asked twice for my Drivers License and insurance card back. Nor was I asked to leave. That is an outright lie. They refunded my fees even though I had not requested a refund and canceled my test, leaving me to have to scramble around to get testing elsewhere. I definitely would not recommend this practice unless, of course, you enjoy abusive treatment.

Extremely professional. Tiffany was outstanding and the entire process could not have been easier. The nose swab was more of an irritating tickle than painful. Got my results back within a few hours. I highly recommend making an appointment with Avecina if you have Covid / respiratory symptoms.

We had a very very good experience. It was easy to get our COVID test and the results came very quickly. Even better, the staff was very helpful answering questions. Gave us a couple of extra masks when my husband forgot his. And they helped us get a family member in ASAP who was exhibiting symptoms. All protocols seemed to be followed to protect staff and patients. If I can thank them thru this review, I hope they see that! 😷👍🏻

My appointment at 2:55 pm I got here at 2:30 pm I have to wait over 2 hours for just take a covic test. The way they scheduled is every five minutes for 1 patient. . I wouldnt recommend any of my friends or family to come here. I dont think they arent professional.

We were required by our son’s school to obtain Covid tests following a trip out of the state. Our experience with Avecina was great. My wife and I were able to complete our tests right at the scheduled appointment time. The staff does a great job; they are friendly and efficient.

Took the family in for Covid testing. The front desk girls did a great job at sanitizing constantly and making us feel safe to be in there. We went back for testing and my daughter that is 7 had the test done and was so nervous but the nurse did such a great job making her feel comfortable and even gave her a pair of pink gloves so she felt like a nurse too. Overall we had an amazing experience at Avecina. Now we get the rapid results in 2 hours. Highly recommend!!

I had been in pain for quite a while and I just happened to get Dr. Model for the first time. I got a thorough treatment and I felt better almost instantly! Do not hesitate to see these folks if you are sick. The office staff is great and the office is really clean. 5 stars for the Tinseltown office for sure!

My experience at Avencina Tinseltown was nothing short of outstanding. The whole team went above and beyond to make sure I felt welcome and taken care of - from the welcoming and helpful staff that work at the front desk in Nicole and Vanessa to the healthcare providers in Jaz and Gerardo. I would like to emphasize team because they all played a crucial role in my care. Gerardo and Jaz had excellent bedside manner and truly listened to my concerns. Gerardo took the time to explain several possible scenarios and what he thought was occurring. I never once felt he was in a rush. Jaz made me feel comfortable when she administered a shot. Nicole and Vanessa called another facility and scheduled another appointment for me for further testing. I would HIGHLY recommend this facility to anyone seeking great healthcare.

Had an absolutely outstanding experience at Avecina! Had a COVID Test there on Wednesday and they helped us figure out the exact test we needed for our travels and even put a priority pass on our tests so we would have them in time for our trip. They are extremely responsive and very easy to communicate with. They definitely made this very stressful time much more pleasant! Highly recommend

The wait times were ridiculous. I was there 3 hours to be seen for 5 minutes. I left and got a second opinion. I do not recommend.

I came to Avencina to get a COVID test. I was the first appointment of the day on a Sunday. On both the sign up and confirmation it clearly states it’s a 5 minute appointment. I waited 15 minutes from when I turned in my paperwork to when I was called back and I waited over 35 minutes to see a doctor. My five minute appointment is now a 50 minute appointment. The front desk staff- one wasn’t wearing a mask at all, the other wearing it underneath their nose. The person who administered my test wasn’t wearing gloves and didn’t wash her hands or use hand sanitizer in front of me. Skip the hassle, don’t take the risk and go to Regency Mall.

The staff was super friendly and efficient. It cost $15 for the COVID test, but it’s so worth it. I had an appointment and waited only 35 minutes. I should have my results by the end of the day. I have had multiple nose swabs and this was by far the quickest and least painful one. Everything was great, highly recommend!

Gave me the wrong testing and medication for my condition. Didn’t even check and do an actual assessment. Finally got in with my primary doctor and they were super confused why they prescribed what they did and did the testing they did.

I’ve had nothing but amazing experience at Avecina Urgent Care! This place has been my go-to for all my covid tests and any other urgent medical needs. Last time I needed a covid test, I checked online to make an appointment but they were full so I called the location. The young lady who picked up the phone was very friendly and accommodating. I explained that because I had an upcoming procedure, I needed a covid test stat. She called the manager and got back to me within minutes. She told me they’ll be happy to get me in. My insurance is Florida Blue so I didn’t have to pay for Covid test.When I walked in, they greeted me warmly and asked to sign patient documents. What I appreciated was the fact that they had blocked off seats in between to implement social distancing. Everyone was spread out and encouraged to wear their masks.Before I even finished the paperwork, I was taken to the room. The doctor who did the test was very professional (everyone of the doctors were). He introduced himself and explained what he will be doing. He had gloves on, surgical mask and a face shield! I was very impressed.The whole thing was less than 10 minutes experience. Once he finished, I completed my paperwork and left. The results were sent to my phone in less than 2 hours! The same with the other times I went.I have recommended this place to everyone who wanted to do a stat Covid test or go to urgent care for their medical needs.

I booked an appointment late Wednesday to be seen Friday at 1:10 pm. I wasn’t sure what to expect but needed rapid COVID testing. I walked in with my paperwork ready at 1:05 and was on my way home by 1:23 pm. And that was only because I asked extra questions from the provider. Front desk was kind and efficient, nurse and doc were quick. Thankfully a negative result (within FOUR hours)! 100% will return if I have any future illnesses COVID related or not.
