All the staff were wonderful except the prescribing physician was not able to be contacted when we tried to change a prescription he gave me. I had given physician info on a previous prescription I had taken in last years to alleviate my particular issue. The wrong Med was prescribed and we were unable to get him to respond back. After a few days, I went back in so another physician could prescribe the correct medication.. and then all was fine. But was a very frustrating scenario till I was able to rectify the situation. Again I want to reiterate how wonderful, kind and empathetic he staff was during this unfortunate occasion.

Recently, I needed a coronavirus-19 quick response test. Thankfully, I found Med First Urgent Care. The staff were efficient, professional and nice! I was so grateful to find a place in Southport (my residence) so I didn’t have to go down the road!

Easy to make on-line appt- completed all history/need for visit information on-line which decreased time in the facility. Staff was courteous, knowledgeable and they resolved my minor medical issue. Environment was clean -and safe- all expected COVID precautions were in place including “clean pens” at the front desk for signing into the appointment. I would use this facility/services again.

Very efficient operation, given how busy the medical world is right now. Staff was courteous and professional. They estimated 2 hours when I arrived, but it was only one hour. I was able to wait in my car by choice and they called me in. Doctor explained everything and took good care of me.

Went for a covid test. Very nice staff. Well pleased.

My son was stuck with the barb of a stingray. He was in extreme pain. When we walked into the lobby, the lady at the front was wonderful. She got us checked in very fast and we were in a room within 10 minutes. I wish I could remember her name, but she was so good at getting us checking quickly. Once in the room, the dr came back fast. My son was given a shot for pain and a got soak for his foot. He immediately started feeling better. This urgent care was fast and efficient and we appreciate their wonderful care!

I am thoroughly pleased with my experience at Med First. All the people there are friendly and pleasant to deal with. The office manager Amy is outgoing and has a great sense of humor. The MAs are very professional and informative, and Dr. K is top-notch. Unlike most Drs offices, there is no extended wait to be seen. I have never waited longer than a few minutes in the lobby before being taken into the back, had my vitals checked, and then being seen by the Dr. You guys rock! Thank you!

The receptionist is always so kind, and helpful. I can’t see her smile through the mask, but you can tell she is smiling, because it touches her eyes. The healthcare staff are always respectful, and patient. Natasha is always thorough, she listens to my questions, and concerns, with patience and care. She goes over my diagnosis, lab results, and medications every visit. I love this office.

I’ve been coming here for years. The staff is always friendly and professional. I appreciate that they always try to get me in as soon as possible, and if they can’t I have utilized their walk in appointments. They call in my prescriptions in a timely manner to where I have a reasonable wait time once I get to the pharmacy. Anytime I have needed a referral for something, it has also been done within a reasonable time. I choose to come here because they make everything easy for me by first seeing me, calling in my prescriptions, or getting me referrals to specialists I need to see. Just like any other doctors appointment someone might have…. There can be long wait times. I consider this when I make appointments and know they will be running behind…. It is what it is!! But I also know that when it is my turn, they will be taking their time to listen to me and give me the care I need without trying to rush me through the appointment like I’m another number…. But treat me like a person. I love this place for that❤️

This place was great! We did have to wait a bit in the car but there is a lot of COVID to be tested around here. They staff was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and empathetic. My son was diagnosed right from our car and the NP was awesome!

Had an appointment for my lab work last week and my and my follow up appoint yesterday. My patient visits at Med First have always been pleasant. The Med First Staff always provides outstanding service, professional and very welcoming. The receptionist, who is always upbeat provides excellent customer service. The medical assistants and lab technicians made me feel comfortable and always conduct a time out to ensure they have the right patient and verify the nature of the visit.The doctor spent quality time discussing my concerns and health plans. Thank You all for an excellent patient experience.

Sat and waited for two hours to get my son and step son, covid tested. Sitting in the car, the nurse came out and said my stepson was established somewhere else so they could not test him, unless we paid 180 bucks. He is on his dads insurance. Then said she would be back out to test my son. 30 minutes later, she said she was coming to test me. I told her it was for my son and the his name was on all the forms I filled out, to include his birth date, that indicates he is 8 years old. She then told me she had to go fix all the paper work. Came back out another 30 minutes later, after I went in and asked if his test was ever going to get done. Got the excuse they were short staffed. After all that I had to then take my stepson to get tested elsewhere. Will not be using this place again.

Holly is literally the best nurse ever. Doctor Kosakowski and her literally feel like family to me. They know exactly what I need and understand my issues! Holly literally goes above and beyond anyone than I’ve ever seen. She keeps me updated on any meds I need to refill, helps book me appointments when I can’t get through to the front desk lady, is a great conversationalist, listens to me, is compassionate and hardworking, and keeps me on track! I love her and I hope she remains my nurse forever ❤️

From the moment you walk in you are treated with respect and kindness. Candy at the desk is delightful. Natasha makes you feel comfortable and she gives you her undivided attention.

When I was far away from my primary care provider, I was able to turn to Med First Primary care to help.A thoughtful and professional staff in a time of need is very comforting.

Friendly/caring staff. Wait time for walk in service was as expected considering covid delays at other urgent cares. Would return for urgent care needs. Amy continuously updated on wait time and follow up steps as we waited in our vehicle.

First time visit to Med First Southport and it could not have been better. From check in to the tech that administered my test to the RN that took a look at me all were super friendly, professional and as busy as they were got me back on my way quickly. Thankful for the efficiency and kindness of all the staff! I have read complaints about the receptionist and I would just like to say that she endures many rude and inpatient people. During a visit, I overheard a lady literally yelling at her because her insurance was not accepted. This is a very scary and trying time for everyone and I’m not sure I would want to be the receptionist at that desk at any time! I’m not trying to make excuses for her but I’m saying we should all be extending grace and kindness to everyone. I am thankful that she has been very professional and helpful to me during my appointments. The nurses are spectacular! Natasha Anderson, FNP is the best!! She is kind and compassionate and she always takes the time to listen which is so important to a patient! She has been a blessing to me and my healthcare.

Would give negative stars if it was allowed. This is the worse run office I have ever seen. I have bee trying to get a copy of my drug test required for a license application for the last three weeks. I have made four trips to the office to talk with the receptionist personally as calling is not possible. I have been told every time: the person responsible for these test will call you. Stay away from this office for your health’s sake.

Tried to bring in my 2 year old daughter who had mud in her eye to request they assist with the flushing her eye. They refused to assist us, citing they are by appointment only and didnt have time today and forced us to drive 11 minutes to the next urgent care provider despite our daughter being in very obvious pain. Horrible service in a time of crisis.

I saw a nurse practitioner the day I was there for bronchitis. I told her I couldn’t sleep due to coughing. I asked for a prescription cough medicine. She said no problem. I get to the CVS pharmacy and she prescribed over the counter robitussin. Really? Very disappointing. Needs work on her bedside manner too. Not pleasant at all. The rest of the staff was nice.

The service was excellent and once I got in to see the Provider it was quick. Even though I had an appointment I waited 1 1/2 hours. It is summer and I understand that. I had nothing else planned and no place to be. All good.

I have been here four times and only once have they been on schedule. It takes them 30 minutes to check in 4 people and I must have received 10 texts and emails to verify, check in and confirm and I have had 2 hr waits past scheduled time. They are not that busy to justify these long waits. Once I see the practitioners everything is great. Getting past the front desk and waiting room is the challenge.

I was in Southport with family on our vacation and I ended up having an allergic reaction to something while fishing! Went in as a walk-in and they explained how there weren’t any appointment until the afternoon, but that I could wait and see if someone didn’t show up for their appointment and they could get my info in just to get that out of the way. Well, that ended up being the case and they got me right in to see the doctor! This was the best urgent care experience I have ever had, the staff was friendly and very informative and went above and beyond to make sure everything was covered with me. The PA student even called me for a follow up yesterday making sure everything was okay! I felt so well taken care of and wish I could move them up to Missouri with me!

I have been seen at Med First for a few years as my primary care doctor. I have never had an issue getting an appointment or being seen as a walk-in client. The staff are very professional and helpful with any health issues. This is the best medical office I have utilized in the Southport/Oak Island area.

I am happy I picked this office to go to, close by and worked with my schedule.Great atmosphere and easy conversation with me.Not overly long on wait time in front or in the room.I would recommend this practice, if you need health assistance.

If you are considering finding a new Primary Care this is the place to go! The facility is easy to access, the Dr listens intently and gives his full attention to your issue. The rest of the staff are wonderfully kind and friendly. Its a tough they have known me for years after only one visit.

It was a horrible experience. I have been a patient there since they opened and will never go back. Nicole Kosakowski, PA-C lack of compassion and uter disrespect to her patient is inexcusable. No patient should be force to take any test. No patient shouldnt have to answer questions regarding their visit in a parking lot. I will never go there again and have changed them as my PCM.

Was exposed to covid on Sunday so we came in for rapid covid testing on the following Saturday (6 days after exposure). First time going to this location as we just moved to Southport and the staff was amazing and we got our results quickly! The doctor was phenomenal with us and answered all of our questions since my boyfriend has a blood condition that suppresses his immune system. Hopefully neither of us get sick or need urgent care in the future, but if we do, we will certainly make this our first stop!

Leesa was amazing friendly, making a point to connect and communicate with each individual as they entered the office. It’s hard to find customer service like this anywhere!!

I visited the location on Southport supply Road in Southport North Carolina. The receptionist was very kind and helpful even though they were very busy. I had a very tiny splinter in my thumb, the lady with the short crazy colored hair helped me. She had to hang onto my thumb to give me a numbing shot. Ouch. She dug a nice little hole in my thumb and got the darn thing out. It was so little but driving me crazy every time I try to use my right hand. Thank you so much.Pat Quinn

I had a COViD test done there and I am totally pleased with the service I received.

Front desk worker was kind of rude, but the service provided by the clinic was good. I came in for a strep test and a covid test, and within minutes they were able to give me results and consultation.

Dr Nicole is a great Dr. Knowledgeable, professional and caring. I take my children to her because I trust her and the staff. Amy at the receptionist desk has been a great help in getting our appointments and the other Nurse is great in getting our vitals and paperwork done as well as Amy. I love Med 1st and will continue to keep them as our primary care provider.

The nursing and reception staff are incredibly kind, compassionate, understanding and hilarious, and the doctors are too. They listen to patient concerns without judging or being dismissive, and take patient concerns seriously. I’ve had trouble for years finding a good doctors office, and coming here is honestly a breath of fresh air.

No one likes to get hurt on vacation. And it’s intimidating when you don’t know local providers. I am SO glad I chose Med First to take care of me. No appointment yet they fit me in quickly. Very friendly, knowledgeable staff. In and out in less than 90 mins. I highly recommend if you need help near the Holden Beach/Oak Island/Southport areas.

I received thorough and thoughtful care from the medical professionals with whom I interacted. They worked hard to meet a very demanding workload (I.e. an unending stream of patients). The nurse came outside to where I was sitting to administer a COVID test. The doctor came to my car where I was resting for my appointment. Both the doctor and the nurse were unphased by tracking me down outside. It was a blessing.On the other hand, I had to wait almost 2 HOURS IN THE OFFICE JUST TO REGISTER FOR AN APPOINTMENT! It was 3+ HOURS BEFORE I WAS SEEN. The receptionist did not communicate clearly and expressed exasperation when I asked for clarification about the many, many papers I had to complete. She complained that she had only had 1 day off in the last two weeks. She never responded when I thanked her on a couple different occasions.There were signs on the entry door requiring all to wear a mask in the office, regardless of vaccination status. I am completely vaccinated against COVID, and was happy to comply. However, the Receptionist did not wear her mask correctly, keeping her nose out of the mask. Most of the other patients followed the lead of the Receptionist and did the same. Some patients removed their masks completely while in the waiting room. I was shocked that a medical practice seemed so indifferent to state mandates and best health practices. It did not feel safe to me. This is why I opted to stay outside for the majority of my wait time. The medical profession all wore their masks properly.

Highly recommend this facility. Amy behind the front desk was very sweet and accommodating. The nurse (Holly) that worked with my son, knew how to work with kids and was so good with him. That was so appreciated when he didn’t feel good. Not to mention they got us in and out quickly which was so helpful with a sick kid. Highly recommend this location!

Would have given zero stars if possible. Scheduled an appt for COVID test. Once there was told no such things as appts on Sunday’s. Yet they had sent many messages to confirm. Took entire family into one room , and had each person divulge height/weight. When I explained this may not be comfortable for all, or legal from a HIPAA stand point, was informed it was the only way they would do it. It is a HIPAA violation in a group setting. Terrible experience, will definitely report ASAP.

The care I received from the PA-C is more than acceptable. The patient communication is extremely poor. I called today to ask to leave a message to have my provider call me back about a RX request. First, I left several messages after dealing with a automated machine telling me because of Covid no one can pick up. Then finally my wife gets someone on the phone, of course they can not help me because its a different office than I go to. They can no have anyone there help me. I then asked if I can have a direct number to the clinic I have my PCM @ so I can leave a message from call back. I was told there is no direct number to their clinics. Then The lady had the audacity to ask if the had helped me. I responded with, you clearly cant give me the phone number to the clinic I am trying to reach, you dont have a provider there for me to talk to, and I have already left a message on the we cant help you because of COVID voice mail line I got 10 times today. Why would anyone choose to go to a clinic, regardless of their patient care, if there is no actual phone number or way to talk to a real person. This is an exact problem of what is wrong with America today. We care more about ourselves, and forget the customer service aspect is what makes or breaks it. Why would I trust my health care with anyone who cant provide me a phone number to leave my provider a message? It is discussing that the VA thinks this clinic should be used. We already have 22 a day. Now they are referring veterans to a clinic that cant even leave a message if they wanted to because there is no number, and once you talk to a representative from the company they provide literally 0 options. An example of how we fail society. We do not know how to provide customer service. I Hope that in the future Med First can see past a $ figure, automated garbage, and have the ability to communicate with their patient.

Wonderful experience. From booking my appointment to seeing someone. It was a first class operation. Their available alone makes them top notch. I’ll be back. That’s for sure.

Nothing is urgent about this place. Ive given them several chances. If you have a problem go somewhere else. Theyre gonna recommend you somewhere else anyways.

When you have an appointment and they take walk in before the scheduled appointment. You wait over an hour sometimes up to 3 hours before you actually get into the room to see the dr its another thirty minutes to an hour be dr comes in to room. They need more dr help so the wait time isnt so long

Avoid this facility. I was 2nd in line and I was there 90 minutes. I was in an examination room for 25 minutes then moved to a lab room (I didn’t need labs.) P.A. Said I needed a prescription and she’d send it to my pharmacy. I waited 30 minutes at the pharmacy and no script. I went back to the Urgent Care and was told they had sent it. Finally, they gave me a hard copy...another 30 minutes at the pharmacy. Total of four hours and I was in quite a lot of pain.

I had a pleasant experience with the Dr yesterday afternoon 6/9/21, however there was an issue with my scripts to being sent to USNH CLNC. At 1130, 6/10/21, they had not received the scripts ordered. I had to return and get hard scripts to get my meds.

I’ve been with Med First since I retired from the Marine Corps in 2011. Dr. Wendell Richardson was my Primary Care doc all these years and then COVID-19 hit. He returned to practice in SC and left a large void. Was unsure if I’d remain there due to the large turnover of caregivers over the past 15 months. Yesterday I had my first visit there since November 2020 and I can tell you that I’m sure I am remaining with them. Amy, Holly, and Dr. Georgitis took great care of me and I’m looking forward to being cared for by PA-C Nicole Kowsakowski in my upcoming appointments.

I cannot say enough good things about MedFirst Southport. From the scheduling office (Anthony) who absolutely rocks and truly cares; Candi at the front desk who always smiles and is kind and follows up with me; And, last but certainly not least, Natasha Anderson, my provider and PCP, who is so patient and caring, kind and thorough. She actually LISTENS to you and follows through on what she says she will do! I actually heard from specialists right away on referrals made by Natasha. AND, my fiancée who never goes to the doctor (Ever! and grew up in a household of medical folks) actually went in and has gone back in and really connected with Natasha. Natasha is also a Veteran in our US Military and that is something our family can get behind and support! Thank you MedFirst Southport for taking good care of me and my family!! My husband and got rapid Covid tests done so we could visit my Mom and feel comfortable knowing we were healthy for a visit. We were walk-ins and from the moment we walked in the receptionist was very nice and accommodating. We filled out our new patient forms and waited in our car for a text message that they were ready for us. We got our test done by a very friendly and competent nurse and waited in our car ..within 15 minutes got our test results by the PA who spent extra time answering questions . I would highly recommend them.!

Edit: My first visit wasnt great, but the last dozen or so that Ive been using them as my primary caregiver for things, have been excellent.The folks administering care are awesome. One thing I really dont like though, I really dont appreciate my name being discussed along with what shot/medicine Im going to take being yelled back and forth so everyone in the waiting room can hear whats going on. Its embarassing and concerned about my privacy. Trying to get through on the phone to that office is also impossible, no one ever picks up the phone.

As a walk in, it was a great experience from Holly to the rest of the staff (honestly being half dead I cant remember the rest names) alil bit of wait but I mean theyre busy. Definitely going to this one rather than richlands.

My first experience. I was a walk in patient with bad cough. Staff very nice. I was lucky they had a cancellation and were able to work me in rather quickly. Happy to say my Covid test was negative however, they did examine me and found I had Bronchitis. Recommended medication and I am on the mend. Thank you for the great care.

Due to possible exposure, my wife and I had the need for Covid test. We easily were able to promptly schedule a test at Med First. The procedure was most efficient and the medical professionals were excellent. Overall we were extremely pleased with the process and the service.

Shared digital medical I formation with CRNP and received 2 injections but nothing for follow up pain management. MedFirst may be fine for some medical conditions, but if in significant pain due to injury or chronic condition, best head to the emergency room of a local hospital.

Made an appointment for covid test. Waited over 35 minutes for test. Was told nurse would come out with my results in 20 minutes. Waited another hour for my results. No plans to ever return.

I have had two occasions to visit Med First in the past month. I was scheduled promptly and the appointment went smoothly. I was treated courteously buy the staff. The procedures were explained to me and my questions were answered. All in all the experience was positive.
