Great store with great associates. I have had nothing but great customer service here and in this day in age, that is hard to say about most places. They made my son feel appreciated and comfortable when getting his first pair of glasses. I plan on being a customer for a long time to come.

Completely dismissed my concerns about my new prescription being wrong and instead told me to make sure I was wearing my glasses correctly. The problem: I asked for Asian fit glasses to be sure they would fit me, but I do not believe my new pair are designed this way. They are painful to wear physically AND the wrong prescription, which strains my eyes. I have never been so frustrated with an eye care center. You could not pay me to return here.

Wife visited earlier today, 11Sep2021 to buy frames (no prescription lenses), which is specifically included in our VSP insurance plan as a $150 deduction - they tried to deny use of VSP for this purpose. We checked our plan and confirmed with VSP in advance that the frames could be purchased separately from prescription lenses. Employee (Ayman) was rude to my wife and repeatedly said VSP did not cover it until employee finally called the VSP number. He was outwardly frustrated and made a point to put the call on speaker to attempt to prove her wrong. VSP representative confirmed it was covered and even sent them an authorization. Even afterwards, he refused to use the plan, trying to get my wife to use some discount that came out to a bit less than $150. She said since insurance covers it, she would prefer to do it under the insurance. He then told my wife “I’m done” and walked away from her. Manager (Michael) had to step in. She finally was able to purchase the frames with the VSP coverage applied. Michael made a comment to other employee along the lines of “we dont need to let other people find out about this because we dont want them using this” [to get frames without prescription]. Not sure why this was such an issue. Visited location around 2pm 11Sep2021. We filed a grievance with VSP alerting them this location attempted to deny use of coverage.

My Eye Dr. messed up my order twice. I ordered glasses and the frames came a different color. Then I ordered sunglasses and the polarization was messed up which created a glare/3d affect, and had to be re done. The staff was friendly though, and the location is convenient.

After about a month of dealing with MyEyeDrs online forms finally I get a call and a guy named Michael fixed pretty much everything and I got my contacts. So overall pretty negative but Michael clearly tried hard to make my experience better

Incorrect prescription on glasses TWICE; Refund took over a month and a half; No coverage for expense for a doctor’s visit to have the glasses checked. For a detailed account, read below:1. The first pair of glasses were made with a computerized calculation rather than the prescription I gave them.On Aug. 18, I ordered progressive computer glasses with the prescription I had received from Dr. Thomas Hunter at the Duke Eye Center. I was helped by the store manager himself, Mike (I do not have his last name) who received the documentation. When I picked up the glasses, I immediately noticed that they did not help with reading. I returned to the store, and I was told they would check them. A few days later, I was told the prescription was right and that I needed to try them for a while. I insisted that they were not helping me and I was told that I could order a new pair, but at my expense. I decided to give them a try, but after a few weeks of not being able to read with them, I opted to return to the store, once again. I was helped then by the store manager. He realized that rather than using the prescription I gave them the glasses had been made using a computerized calculation “My Eye Dr” uses for their clients and offered to have the glasses remade with the correct prescription.2. The second pair of glasses had less power than prescribed – Glasses were measured at Duke Eye Center (an $80.00 expense)After picking up the second pair of glasses and after they guaranteed they were right, I tried using them for some time. After a few weeks, I realized they were useless since I did not see better with them. Considering that the glasses had been made twice, I thought that maybe Dr. Hunter’s prescription may have been wrong. I contacted him, and I was asked to make an appointment (an $80.00 expense). On Nov. 19, at Duke Eye Center, it was confirmed that the prescription was correct; however, the glasses were measured and the result was that they had less power than what had been prescribed (and etched on the glasses)! That same evening, I returned to the store and spoke with the store manager. He measured the glasses and confirmed what I had been told at Duke Eye Center. He accepted to give me a full refund ($300.40) and told me I would receive a check in the next couple of weeks. He offered to remake the glasses at no expense to me; I accepted to give “My Eye Dr” an opportunity to regain my trust. A week or so later I picked up the third pair of glasses. I have tried them, but still do not see well with them. Because they were free of cost, I decided to leave them aside and forget dealing with computer glasses for the time being.3. Refund took one month and a half, two phone calls, and filing a credit card claimAfter waiting for the refund for a month, on Dec. 17th, I called the store and spoke with the manager. He explained that, apparently, the reason for the delay in sending the check was that they were missing the number of my apartment. He offered to take care of this immediately and that the check would be mailed in the next couple of business days (that is, Dec. 18 or 21). Two weeks later, on Jan. 4, I had not received the check. I called the store and left a voice mail, but never received a call back. Consequently, I proceeded to file a credit card claim and mail all the documentation the bank needed (an $8.24 expense). Interestingly, on Jan. 9, I finally received a check issued on Jan. 5 and mailed on Jan. 6. No excuses and no justification for the delay have been given to me to this date.IN CONCLUSION, this experience with “My Eye Dr” has cost me: $88.24, hours of back and forth visits to the store, possible exposure to COVID at a doctor’s office, and multiple hours. Who refunds me for the additional costs and time spent?Regretfully, “My Eye Dr” is a monopoly and has purchased many of the eye glass services in Raleigh, leaving us without much choice.UPDATE:On Jan. 14, the store maneger apologized for the experience and offered to refund me for the expenses. I received the check on Jan. 23.

An amazing team of people. Let me being with their customer service. I gave them a call just asking if they could take my insurance. They looked up my past records and were able to put in all the data without having to take up too much of my time. The lady was super helpful. Then I went in during my lunch break and it was a perfect time. I never felt rushed or uncomfortable trying on the glasses or asking about my contacts. The desk people were friendly and helpful. The lady that did my exam was so sweet and comforting. The doctor answered all my questions and helped me with my first set of contacts. They gave me ample amount of time. The best was David. He was super relaxed and helped me try on dozens of glasses. He never made me feel like I had to rush and picked out glasses that I would have never chosen but ended up loving and buying. I need to also mention he explained the insurance and coverage so well to me. I plan on coming back to this eye doctor yearly. The selection is amazing and the people are even better.

Ive been going to this office since 2006. Yes, parking in Cameron Village come sometimes be a challenge, but overall I find this office very convienent as I work downtown. They have competitive prices on contacts when compared to 1800contacts, so I typically by from them. Ive also purchased glasses and have been happy with the service. They carry higher end brands and trendy styles at reasonable prices. Dr. Reeves is very easy to talk to and a pleasure to see. Shes knowledgeable, professional, courteous, and concerned for your well being. I also find her to be well informed and aware of the various costs the patient will see and is willing to discuss this with you during the appointment ... a discussion I find very difficult with most other doctors I see, regardless of their field. Yes, the sales team will offer services beyond the standard, thats part of marketing and running a business! Ask them what value it provides and have them support their claim with data. If you arent convinced, dont buy it. I recommend Dr. Reeves and this office.

Dr. Reeves was great in diagnosing my situation and working with me to find a viable solution. She also told me about techniques for eye health that no previous doctor had ever mentioned and as such saved me from experiencing a variety of problems later on. She is smart, accurate, and efficient. The office was flexible in allowing me to trade one set of contact lens prescriptions for another and i appreciate that. Also the hours open and parking situation are both quite convenient.

Great doctors, lousy customer service. My experience in a sentence.Dr. Reeves was very attentive, professional and gave me terrific options to suit my activities. More so than any other doctor in the past. The front office staff is absolutely terrible with following up and taking time to follow through. I was told many different times they would call to within the hour, within the day and when the product arrives. This was not the case in any instance. I never received a follow up call, even after confirming they had the proper contact information. I had to take time to actually go visit the office, unannounced, to have my questions answered or to check on my order.Furthermore, the front office is really efficient to get your healthcare plan and maximize their opportunities to sell their products to their benefit. This means pushing to purchase prescription from them, all within the coverage of your plan.I will not be returning and cannot recommend this facility.

Weve used this practice for years, but under their old name. The docs are all great, the desk staff is nice and the sales people dont work too hard to sell you stuff, which I like. My only problem is the glasses selection is pretty ho-hum. With the location (upscale shopping center, almost downtown) and the clientele (at almost 50 I am 20 years older than the other glasses shoppers I have seen in there) I would think they would have more interesting frames. One thing about that name change: from the professional Eye Care Associates to the juvenile and dumbed down My Eye Doctor seems a bit odd. I feel like that name would be better for a pediatric practice.

The Dr I saw was very nice, great exam, no problems there. They then sold me the absolutely worst pair of glasses I have ever had the displeasure of owning. I spent over $250 on these things after insurance and they slide off my face, hurt my ears, sit crooked and one of the arms is about to fall off because the screw is coming out. Even went back and had them adjusted and it barely helped. This was over a year ago at this point. I will never buy glasses from them again. If I am going to get cheap glasses Ill at least pay cheap prices online. Based on some of the other reviews I suspect they will not appreciate me as a patient if I dont buy glasses from them next time.Edit: I got two pairs of glasses online recently for $65 after insurance and they are so much better in every way. Wont buy glasses from a physical store ever again.

When I was trying to decide on a pair of glassed the associate was very informative and showed me the frames that were available in different colors using the catalog. For those individuals who had a bad experience I am glad that I was able to go to a facility that did give very good customer service. Good luck to you all the next time. Update: Showed up for an eye exam, was told there was dirt in my eyelashes, and that my eyes were bloodshot, so it was now a $45 medical visit. I feel like I got hoodwinked into a $45 medical visit copay, when that was not at all necessary, seeing how the doctor just gave me some eye wipes and eye drops, which could have been done as a courtesy, not a copay. I would have at least liked to be given the option to come back for another exam on another day, when maybe I got better sleep or didnt get shampoo in my eyes, if they werent going to give me the exam today. The front desk staff was nice, and friendly, but they were unclear if the next weeks medical follow-up would also be a $45 co-pay, so I did not book the follow up or a rescheduled exam.

Terrible customer service, but good doctor. The doctor who saw me, Dr Badwan was professional, and I wish that I could see him at another location because I will not be returning to this location. The folks who answer the phone are rude, and seemed resentful of my questions. When I asked for a prescription, I was told I would get one in a few minutes via email. When I hadnt gotten one after 24 hours, I called again, and was told that they didnt have record that I had called. After several days, and several phone calls, I got an emailed prescription that was incorrect, since it was not for contact lenses. I have asked the office for someone to help me with this issue, but I have not yet gotten a reply. To me, a good doctor just isnt worth the bad front desk service.

When I called to schedule an appointment a while back, the girl on the phone was rude. I had a simple insurance question and got a lot of attitude. The girl just sounded like she hated being bothered - I could just see her rolling her eyes, then she told me to call back and hung up...? After that, I resorted to the website and clicked the request appointment button, thinking that might just be easier. Then I got no response. I have requested an appointment this way more than 3 times. I guess they just dont want to be bothered with people...? I would go elsewhere.

I just left this office after my annual eye appointment. I feel very discouraged after being a patient with my eye care associates which is now myeyedr for over 6 years now. The front desk lady with dark curly hair was extremely nice and welcoming, however the rest of the front staff lacks the same warm and welcoming invite. The technician was nice. The new doctor at this location is ok. However, the frame consultant lady was extremely rude and impatient. I understand it is the end of the year, as I work in healthcare too, but to be rude to patients and try to rush them out, is not acceptable. Including charging me fees for stuff that wasn’t done, not giving me an accurate estimate for my contacts, and for telling me that they don’t have frames available for purchase that are listed on their site. Just an overall bad experience. I will not be returning to this location or to any other myeyedr and I advise whoever is reading this review to not go here either.

My whole family has gone to this store and each have had separately awful experiences. The costumer service is anything but. The “store manager” might want to consider a different profession. I took my glasses that I received from this location to an eye exam and the eye doctor could not believe that these glasses were given to me, he took the glasses out to their store manager because he was concerned this was a mistake made at their store, they all agreed that it was clear the glasses were not prepared correctly and one of the lenses completely peeled and was equivalent to plastic, with no prescription. He offered to replace the glasses apologizing at no cost, I assured him this wasn’t done at his store. So I returned to this location with low expectations and was not surprised one bit when the “store manager” told me this was not her issue and that “this happens over time” 😂 after I assured her that the professionals at a different location told me it should never happen she replied “awhhh”. I do not like leaving bad reviews, however I’ve given this store multiple opportunities to correct their mistakes, in person and over the phone. I do not recommend coming here for your eye care, unless you would like to pay high dollar for glasses that are not done correctly and don’t last. It’s unfortunate, but there are other companies in the area that go above and beyond.

Just a warning to others, if you order your glasses from Warby Parker (lovely, wonderful company by the way) or anywhere online apparently, Eye Care Associates will not touch them.
