Dr. Spector did my braces 20 years ago and Im STILL thrilled with the results! Hes one of those rare practitioners whose first priority really is his patients. Just recently, my permanent retainer needed to be re-glued, after amazingly staying put for 20 years. He was a delight to help me and reminded me of his commitment to his patients, long-term. One thing he didnt remember about me - I went to see him about 10 years ago, when my dentist asked me to get my retainer adjusted. I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Spector. The thought of having braces forever made me fearful of them, so I tried Smile Direct first. What a waste of time. A friendly and funny person, Dr. Spector was still very stern about scheduling and keeping appointments. He paid attention to detail and made sure my teeth were not only straight but even. I kept all of my appointments, and it is because I showed up and he was so experienced that my teeth turned out so great. I didnt believe it was possible to make my teeth look naturally straight. After shopping around Chicago for the most affordable orthodontics with the best care/servic, I came upon MPO. The pricing was transparent, and again, very affordable. Since starting my treatment, its felt like a family. Dr. Spector is hilarious and real. He tells it like it is, which can understandably be off-putting to some (but tbh they probably just dont have a sense of humor ‍). Anyway, we have the craziest conversations and I always leave excited about my next appointment. In addition to Dr. Spector and his hilarity, his staff is also awesome as well. Theyre warm and welcoming and always get on with the jokes and fun. Getting braces SHOULD NOT be a boring and somber endeavor, and at MPO its not. If you want bland, find another office.5/5 highly recommend!Update: Dr. Spector worked with me to get my braces off in time for my move to Arizona ahead of schedule. For that I am very grateful. I went to Millennium Park Orthodontics for help fixing a crooked bottom tooth. Dr. Spector and his team worked with me to come up with the best solution for me. We ended up doing lingual braces on my bottom teeth. About a year later, my bottom teeth are straight, my braces are off, and I have a permanent retainer to keep them straight. Overall, I had a great experience and would recommend Millennium Park Orthodontics to others.

I went to see Howard as an adult with a large overbite. Howard made my smile so nicewith traditional braces ( clear ). He is a wonderful doctor who has a beautifully clean office. He uses state-of-the-art equipment and he is a perfectionist. His staff is very professional and I recommend him to all of my friends. I just want to start off by saying - DR SPECTOR CHANGED MY LIFE!!I grew up with horrible teeth (see before and after pictures I uploaded). My family was poor and couldnt afford the treatment. It wasnt until when I started to work and was on insurance that I finally considered getting my teeth fixed. I did 4 consultations; 2 with dentists, 2 with orthodontists. All of them I searched through Invisaligns website. Dr Spectors practice was the only one that had the iTero technology (I encourage you to research on iTero to understand the beauty). I had crossbites and overbites. It was pretty severe that one practice told me I needed jaw surgery. Most practices told me that I have to take out a loan and pay upfront. Dr Spectors practice has internal financial plans that you can do payment plans which was much convenient.Dr Spector was very knowledgeable and during my consultation, I felt no pressure and he gave me the most confidence among other practices. Price wise, surprisingly it was cheaper than the other practices I quoted (2 near the Schaumburg area, 1 in Chicago.) I ended up going with Dr Spector.Because I had a much severe case, it took me almost 2 years, but it was totally worth it. Dr Spector and his team were patient with me throughout my entire journey. Do keep in mind that how well the results are depends on how much discipline you have. Invisalign is unlike braces, and you really need to wear it often and well enough to see results.At the end of the treatment, I felt like I gained a new family and I was a bit sad I dont get to see them as much anymore. But trust me when I say this, there is a reason why Dr Spector has an excellent track record and is well known in the industry.He changed my life and he gave me a new sense of confidence I never had before. I decided to go to Dr. Spector after researching orthodontists in Chicago, as he came up to be one of the best. This was my second time attempting braces as I had a cross bite that was worsening over the years. From the initial consult with Dr. Spector, he was informative and explained things with great depth and attention. He presented multiple different treatment options, the pros and cons of each, and helped me choose a method of treatment that required a procedure and braces afterwards. Dr. Spector personally emailed me and sent me articles on the procedures so that I could better understand the procedure. And he was prompt in answering any questions I had. Over the course of the treatment, both Dr. Spector and his staff were great! Wait times were short, and the visits were efficient. My bite has successfully been corrected, and Ive been sending other friends to him as well who have had similar positive experiences with him. I would strongly recommend him to anyone who needs orthodontic work done!!

Dr. Spector and his team are fantastic. I’ve braces twice and the morale of that story is kids wear your retainer... anyway both times they did a great job at far as scheduling me and make sure my braces were on point. I was hear 10 years ago when I originally had my braces. My teeth were jacked up, other Orthodontists wanted to pull teeth or add cranks and I didn’t seem that was right. Dr. Spector also thought that wasn’t right, and it wasn’t done. I had my braces for about 2yrs and when they came off my teeth looked amazing. My downfall was I broke my retainer and failed to replace it. 10yrs later my permanent bottom retainer breaks and I’m back in Dr. Spectors office. Same great service. Highly highly recommend.

I went in for a consult and the doctor asked me a bunch of super rude and misogynist questions including:Does your husband know youre here?Uh yeah- he doesnt care...?What does your husband think about you getting braces?Again, totally doesnt care. Also, there are so many levels of what he was implying that are gross, inappropriate and again, totally misogynist. Oh but wait, it gets better...Tell your husband that he can come to any of your appointments to ask questions.Wow. So I should be asking permission for from my husband to get dental work? For something in my body that Id be paying with with my own money... okay. Oh and that he should probably be at my appointments...what the actual F.He also asked me what I do for a living- not in like a friendly way but in a way that he was feeling out how much money I made or who knows what he was getting at.I also told him that I had a very bad experience as a teenager with another orthodontist which is why I never finished with my last treatment with braces. He kept pressing me to tell him what happened and who did it- even though I told him I didnt want to talk about it.Then he said something about bad boy orthodontists which is totally creepy and gross.So obviously I never went back.Im just writing this now because Im still looking for another place to get my braces and I noticed this guy had all these 5 star reviews.Honestly, I just laughed it off because it was soooo ridiculous. When I told my husband about what happened he was super angry that anyone would have the gall to talk to me like that and I had to stop him from calling to yell at the guy.Newsflash- you shouldnt talk to women like that. We now are allowed to vote, own property and even hold jobs.Seriously though, I felt extremely uncomfortable with this person and I just thought that I should warn other women about this guy.

Always had a good experience going here, even though nobody enjoys dental work, Dr. Spector does a good job at explaining everything and making you feel comfortable. As the parent of a highly satisifed patient I wanted to leave a review about our experience. My daughter had suffered from jaw aches and pains her whole life. It was believed to be triggering some of her chronic migraine headaches.She searched around for orthodonists who had experience with cases like hers ( and more extreme ones ) so that she felt like she was in goods hands. She went in with an underbite and a crossbite.Dr. Spector and his team were very attentive and accomodating throughout the whole process. He explained what would be possible with her bite, what to expect , the time it would take to get there, and different ways to achieve the desired outcome. He was upfront and honest about her questions, expectations, and concerns.She spent about two years on Invisalign until her bite was in the correct position for surgery. Dr. Spector got her connected with a surgeon right away. From there things went smooth sailing.She has a few more things that need to be done but the journey has been so worth it. Not only is she in less pain than when she started , she is also more confident with her appearance . No words could express how much I appreciate Dr. Spector ( and staff) and their work!

So the Doctor decided to return my overpayment after endless manipulative passive aggressive emails back and forth.. I was surprised myself actually. But then he demanded me to remove my reviews cause he said they are not true anymore.. Well I got back my overpayment that I would have gotten back anyways through legal ways and he still got paid like about $2,200 for like 9 months treatment of no use.. I just regret I didnt stop immediately when I had indications of not being the right doctor for me but I learned my lesson (I didnt know better). He is a good doctor I believe if you just have some crooked teeth that you want them look straight but nothing more than that, no surgeries crossbites overbites etc involved.. when you feel like your doctor is avoiding any of your questions just leave dont wait for any reason. Sometimes you discover things along the way in which case the doctor should be willing to help explain and modify your treatment plan and dont expect you to just shut up and be afraid to make questions about your own health or send you to other orthodontists for stuff he is not trained for but he still charged you for.

Best Orthodontist in Chicago by far! Dr Spector put braces on my bottom teeth and straightened them for good ! This was my 3rd go round with braces and after several years my teeth still look great. My daughter also ended up with a movie star smile after top and bottom braces with Dr Spector. She always had fun colorful rubber bands :) Icing on the cake is Dr Spectors great sense of humor. We always leave his office smiling or laughing.

Dr. Spector and his wonderful staff actually take the sting out of going to the orthodontist. Everyones friendly and pleasant here, and the office has a really nice, easy feel to it. From start to finish, from your first visit to your last, things will move like a well-oiled machine and youre given the sense that your teeth are everyones top priority. I like that. Im kinda bummed my braces are off now and that I have only the one mouth.

I was SUPER hesitant to start any sort of treatment (as someone who had years of braces and retainers). I did a lot of research and information-seeking before finally deciding to move forward with Invisalign. Dr. Spector and his staff were amazing from beginning to end - helping to ease my concerns and make me feel comfortable throughout the process. Any time I had a question, I was able to easily call or email and get an immediate answer. Going in for my regular appointments was a breeze - and it was great to see the friendly faces of the entire team. I always felt better after an appointment (which is such a great feeling). I have recommended Dr. Spector and his team to a number of friends and colleagues. They are great!

I had a great experience at Dr. Spectors. In fact, it was so great that when my 14 year old needed braces, I took him to Spector as well. So now, we are two generations in!My experience: I had been told by past dentists/orthodontists since I was a teen that my bite issues were complicated. My pediatric dentist told my parents that I had a cross bite and a class 3 under bite that should be treated early (I was about 7 yo). It didnt work and I wound up getting braces again in my teens. The outcome still wasnt great. I still had a cross bite which means that my top teeth didnt close over my bottom but just rested on top of each other (see before pic below). I also had some overcrowding that got worse with age. After consulting various dental professionals on and off over the years in my adulthood, I had consistently been told that there wasnt much that could be done. Frustrated that I couldnt bite effectively and with worsening overcrowding, I finally revisited the issue in my 40s. I was about to let my dentist (great guy but a dentist, NOT an orthodontist) give me braces. At the last minute, hesitant because I had been through this so many times, I decided to consult with an orthodontist first. I found Spector on Yelp. I called his office and explained the situation. He listened carefully and responded concisely: he told me that I dont have to come to him but that I should definitely see an orthodontist, not a dentist. He was so knowledgeable, patient and kind, and his yelp reviews were so high, I booked a consultation with him. I also booked a consultation with one other orthodontist a girlfriend recommended. When I met with Spector, he was just as impressive in person as he was over the phone. His fees were straightforward (with a no-interest payment plan) and competitive (significantly less that the orthodontist my girlfriend recommended and about the same as the quote my dentist gave me). It was an easy decision. He put me in Invisalign and 18 months later, voila! I have no cross bite and straight teeth. I am super pleased.He has also been fabulous with my 14 year old who is spectrum-ish. My son lost his permanent front tooth when he got hit in the mouth with a tennis racket at tennis camp. Our family dentist recommended braces just to make room for the crown. I was happy to return to have Spector handle my sons case. Spector and his staff handled the hand off from our family dentist seamlessly and professionally. He put my son in regular braces and explained to me what to watch out for to make sure we get the best outcome. We are currently in treatment and I couldnt be more pleased. The staff is so friendly to my son and very responsive to get him in on short notice when he has any issues (wires/brackets coming loose, etc.).So twice now, Dr. Spector has treated (and is treating) my family with impeccable service. First of all, let me say this. For the longest time Ive had issues with all things dental, I thought I would never be able to fix my teeth as they needed too much work (crowding/overbite/bad aesthetics), to the point that invisalign was out of the equation. Enter Dr. Spector, he was very patient and put me at ease that all of it could be fixed, and that I would be able to smile once again with confidence. I held off for about a year and a half to write this review because my experience with this orthodontist really was the worst experience Ive ever had with a healthcare professional in my life.To begin, he came highly recommended from an ex-girlfriend, but she got good results so I trusted that he was going to be good. I went in for a consult and he was quite cordial, and said my situation was pretty extensive but that he was the best orthodontist in Chicago and could fix it in 15-18 months. He really wouldnt stop talking about how hes the best orthodontist in Chicago, and I have really great insurance, so I moved forward. Big mistake.The red flags just kept popping up. He made me go in twice to get four teeth removed, when he knew full well that any surgery basically requires me to take 1-2 days off for rest and recovery. Then every time I went in, there was a new dental assistant working on my teeth (super high turnover), and there was a unique boss/staff vibe, to put it mildly. I had a brace pop off once a few months in, probably because I wore a mouthguard while I was playing soccer, and when I asked normal questions about it and other things he got annoyed and offered to take everything out and offer me a full refund. I should have taken him up on that but didnt want to start from scratch somewhere else.Then I noticed he would spend tons of time with new consultations, but pass by really quickly to glance at my teeth after the dental assistant had tightened it, and then move straight on. Questions were a waste of his time, he had to get to the new consults. At about 20 months in (two months longer than the upper end of his initial estimate), I started asking when wed be about done and what more teeth needed to move and where, which were perfectly reasonable questions, I thought. Hed bristle and just say keep doing what youre doing, then say I should just trust him, and then finally got even more annoyed and told me that I should get a bone density scan so hed have an idea of how much longer. I didnt, because I didnt need that precise an estimate, plus I was going out of the country for a month and presumed there wouldnt be too much time left when I returned. After 25 months and his complete and total annoyance with very normal questions, he said he was taking everything off, starting with the top, and provided me with a retainer, though there were some gaps left. Then things got wild.I came in for my second to last consult and forgot my retainer, an honest first-time oversight since I was rushing from the airport to that appointment, and that set him off. Though I did my best with the rubber bands and followed directions as best I could from the start, he shouted at me that I didnt listen (no other patients were there of course) and followed me to the elevator, still yelling. I have two phones (one personal and one work), put in my headphones and checked my work phone, since I wanted to end the conversation and I was heading back to work, and then he launched into a diatribe about how phones are the problem with young people these days, etc. The final time I was there, he removed the bottom braces and told me I wouldnt need to come back anymore, even though I was entitled to a final check to make sure the retainer was well adjusted. I ended up going to another orthodontist later who got me a new retainer which closed gaps that were left in my upper teeth.In the end my teeth are way better than they were when I got in there, but I have never dreaded going in to see a healthcare professional as much as I did for those horrible 25 months. The lesson is to listen to your gut, and I think if you truly believe that asking healthcare professionals normal questions about your treatment is important, you really should go elsewhere.
