I cant say enough positive things about Dr Spector. Our son had a complicated case that involved both braces and surgery. Dr. Spector made sure to team with with a top oral surgeon at Stroger to coordinate the plan for our son. He has communicated with us every step of the way and been patient and supportive with all our questions and concerns. Hes clearly one of the top orthodontists in the region. He is highly respected. We trust him completely. What I appreciate most is his care for the whole person and the time he has taken to know our son. I would highly recommend him as an orthodontist.

2yrs ago I was informed by my dentist that my son was going to be in need of braces. My dentist told me about a program that would possibly be able to assist me with the cost of orthodontist care. The program was called, Donated Orthodontist, which Dr Spector just so happened to be apart of. So, I decided to give them a call. They asked some simple questions over the phone and requested some information. Along with that, my son had to write a letter explaining why it was important for him to get braces. A month or so went by and I received a call saying Dr. Spector liked my sons letter and wanted to DONATE his services to us. Omg, was I excited and extremely grateful!!! I worked with Dr. Spector for Invisalign. We started in 2019 but due to covid things were extended a bit. I would absolutely recommend working with him and his staff. My primary dentist that does Invisalign recommended i see a specialist due to my situation. He was able to tackle the challenge and my smile is great. He was very accommodating when i chose to not do a permanent retainer and then I changed my mind. I trust his work and recommend him to anyone. Dr. Spector has to be the worst orthodontist in the Chicagoland area. He is arrogant, demeaning, and disrespectful. During consultation he comes across as decent and caring, but once yr his patient his ugliness comes out. He definitely missed good bedside manners 101 in dental school. Im tempted to say he has anger problems and definitely needs anger management assistance. After being my sons orthodontist my son cried every time he had anyone come near his teeth. My daughter had a canine tooth that was not able to come down since there was not enough space. When we saw other orthodontists, they told us that they would remove couple of her teeth to create room for the canine to come down. Finally, we saw Dr. Spector who told us that he was not going to remove teeth but that he would move other teeth over to create space for canine to come down and fix her bite. This was exactly the type of treatment plan we were looking for that is non-intrusive yet effective!!! My daughters canine tooth has finally come down with Dr. Spector’s wise treatment and now she has all of her teeth, looking beautiful!!!

I had a fantastic experience with Dr Spector and his staff. For years I tried to find a professional to help with my receding gum line. After a failed gum graft I was feeling really helpless. Through my dentists recommendation I went to Dr Spector, and he immediately he reassured me that I would be taken care of. While he explained the journey of braces, Invisalign and getting a tooth pulled - it sounded crazy. But it worked!! He does excellent work. He is not the friendliest person. However, if you can overlook his abruptness, you will be please with the results. He is a pretty direct person. However, he gets the job done. Expect great work. Do not expect fluffy and nice. Might get a very abrupt response. Its cool. We must be true to ourselves. Its hard to overstate the positive shift in my life after working with Dr. Spector. He worked with me on preliminary braces, then through an oral surgery, then finished up his brilliant work for about 8 months afterward. I went from hiding my teeth in every photo to proudly showing them off. Dr. Spector was amazing! As you can see from the photos, my teeth were not in the greatest shape. Dr. Spector is very knowledgeable and experienced. From the moment I initially sat down in one of his chairs, he was ready to work to help me achieve the smile I have always wanted. Once he received my molds, he created a comprehensive plan to fix my smile; he explained everything he would do and which orthodontic measure was best for my situation (as he is skilled in several but because of his experience is able to provide the necessary expert guidance in making a selection and so a patient understands his recommendation). He worked with my dentist and other treatment providers in order to convey and organize the treatments I needed in order to achieve the desired results, as well as ensure my overall dental health and wellness. Due to his years of experience, he never rushed the process, as good work can’t be rushed. He took the time necessary to ensure that I wouldn’t need more orthodontic work later in life. Another thing I greatly appreciated about Dr. Spector and his office is they are willing to work with your financial situation. I truly appreciate what Dr. Spector has done for me and was able to accomplish with my smile. I have and will continue to recommend him to anyone who is need of orthodontic work. Seeing a few of the negative reviews that had Dr. Spector go on an online rampage made me giggle. Ill admit he wasnt my cup of tea in the beginning but with his office being so close to mine I decided to take the risk and so far, Im content with the services he and his team have been providing for me ever since I started my treatment which was just a month ago. I had ceramic braces put on but decided to switch to traditional braces 3 weeks into the process and they handled it with great care (I felt no discomfort when they were removed) and efficiency.

Dr. Spector is one of the best orthodontist that I’ve come across. I’d a critical tooth overcrowding condition and most of the doctors had said it couldn’t be fixed with Invisalign. I’m an adult patient & traditional braces isn’t a good option for me. I’m thankful to Dr. Spector & his wonderful team who helped me to get back my smile with Invisalign treatment. I just finished my invisalign treatment with Dr. Spector and his team and cant speak highly enough of the quality of attention and perfectionism that I experienced. Everybody in his office is experienced and professional and all work is closely monitored and checked for quality by Dr. Spector himself. They are AMAZING at what they do and work together well. Externally bad. They take hours to see you. I have had many appointments with this business and it takes hours after the expected time just to see you for 10mins and this doesnt happen at any other business. Additionally the people of the company are extreamlly rude and hold grudges on their patients and even make them wait additional time based on whither they like them or not. It’s not just me with these issues it’s many others 50+ and I have no words for these people to describe my pure frustration. In all my experiences with doctors, Dr. Spector ranks at the bottom. He did my wifes braces, and in multiple trips together, he would not explain the process and decision-making behind her braces (even though we were paying for this together and so, making decisions together). His bedside manner was deeply rude, as was the rest of his staff. Also, he took on another doctor as a partner, and my wifes treatments were assigned(?) to her. However, this doctor was not knowledgeable and made mistakes. After he let her go, my wifes treatment had been delayed for 2-3 months. There was never any discussion about this other doctor or an apology for the lack of oversight.In sum, he is overworked, has too little staff and has little ability to work and listen to patients who are his customers. Good location if you are living in or near downtown as the only positive.

I like this place very much and the workers are very nice and funny. One thing I will say they need to do is to start letting their patients know what their going to do before they start doing their work on their teeth. I think they should also before or after tell them why they added or took something out of their braces or whatever they came for.

I went to Millennium Park Orthodontics for help fixing a crooked bottom tooth. Dr. Spector and his team worked with me to come up with the best solution for me. We ended up doing lingual braces on my bottom teeth. About a year later, my bottom teeth are straight, my braces are off, and I have a permanent retainer to keep them straight. Overall, I had a great experience and would recommend Millennium Park Orthodontics to others.

The treatment was covered by Aetna In-network thus getting the Invisalign aligners was a very good deal 🤑. Be ready to come to the office regularly (1/6-8 weeks for check ups and new sets of aligners) to ensure you are on a right track. It took me a little bit over a year to get my perfect smile 😁 Much shorter than I was expecting! I can’t believe how fast, easy, reasonably priced the whole experience was! And it was always good to see such a welcoming team.Special thanks to Dr Spector for seeing me on a very short notice this week. I decided to go to Dr. Spector after researching orthodontists in Chicago, as he came up to be one of the best. This was my second time attempting braces as I had a cross bite that was worsening over the years. From the initial consult with Dr. Spector, he was informative and explained things with great depth and attention. He presented multiple different treatment options, the pros and cons of each, and helped me choose a method of treatment that required a procedure and braces afterwards. Dr. Spector personally emailed me and sent me articles on the procedures so that I could better understand the procedure. And he was prompt in answering any questions I had. Over the course of the treatment, both Dr. Spector and his staff were great! Wait times were short, and the visits were efficient. My bite has successfully been corrected, and Ive been sending other friends to him as well who have had similar positive experiences with him. I would strongly recommend him to anyone who needs orthodontic work done!

Im so glad I found Dr. Spectors practice when I was looking to do orthodontia about 1.5 years ago. From the time I came in, I felt listened to and Ive been really happy with the work they did on my teef. Dr. Spector is hilarious, and the vibe in the office is great. Theres laughter, theres jokes, and when I got married last year, everyone (including Dr. Spector!) had to hear the story of how I met my husband — admittedly, a pretty good story. Id recommend Dr. Spector to anyone whos looking to do teeth straightening; we did an Invisalign on my top teeth and sub-lingual braces on the bottom. Thats the only thing Id advise against, though ... through no fault of theirs, sub-lingual braces are just a real pain to deal with. Otherwise, go for it!

I just want to start off by saying - DR SPECTOR CHANGED MY LIFE!!I grew up with horrible teeth (see before and after pictures I uploaded). My family was poor and couldnt afford the treatment. It wasnt until when I started to work and was on insurance that I finally considered getting my teeth fixed. I did 4 consultations; 2 with dentists, 2 with orthodontists. All of them I searched through Invisaligns website. Dr Spectors practice was the only one that had the iTero technology (I encourage you to research on iTero to understand the beauty). I had crossbites and overbites. It was pretty severe that one practice told me I needed jaw surgery. Most practices told me that I have to take out a loan and pay upfront. Dr Spectors practice has internal financial plans that you can do payment plans which was much convenient.Dr Spector was very knowledgeable and during my consultation, I felt no pressure and he gave me the most confidence among other practices. Price wise, surprisingly it was cheaper than the other practices I quoted (2 near the Schaumburg area, 1 in Chicago.) I ended up going with Dr Spector.Because I had a much severe case, it took me almost 2 years, but it was totally worth it. Dr Spector and his team were patient with me throughout my entire journey. Do keep in mind that how well the results are depends on how much discipline you have. Invisalign is unlike braces, and you really need to wear it often and well enough to see results.At the end of the treatment, I felt like I gained a new family and I was a bit sad I dont get to see them as much anymore. But trust me when I say this, there is a reason why Dr Spector has an excellent track record and is well known in the industry.He changed my life and he gave me a new sense of confidence I never had before. I was in Chicago for work when I broke a brace. I called this office and they had me come right in. I waited maybe 10 mi it’s and Dr Spector called me back. He was absolutely amazing! As the parent of a highly satisifed patient I wanted to leave a review about our experience. My daughter had suffered from jaw aches and pains her whole life. It was believed to be triggering some of her chronic migraine headaches.She searched around for orthodonists who had experience with cases like hers ( and more extreme ones ) so that she felt like she was in goods hands. She went in with an underbite and a crossbite.Dr. Spector and his team were very attentive and accomadating throughout the whole process. He explained what would be possible with her bite, what to expect , the time it would take to get there, and different ways to achieve the desired outcome. He was upfront and honest about her questions, expectations, and concerns.She spent about two years on Invisalign until her bite was in the correct position for surgery. Dr. Spector got her connected with a surgeon right away. From there things went smooth sailing.She has a few more things that need to be done but the journey has been so worth it. Not only is she in less pain than when she started , she is also more confident with her appearance . No words could express how much I appreciate Dr. Spector ( and staff) and their work!

Horrible. I transferred here from my old orthodontist when I moved to Chicago. At the time I had 3 months of treatment to finish off. Dr. Spector was incompetent, negligent or both, and for whatever reason he basically created as much problem as he was able to fix. He wasted 7 months of my time and charged me $1800 for doing it.7 months later I fired Dr. Spector after completely losing confidence in him. I went to another orthodontist, was told I still had 3-6 months of treatment left, and was quoted exactly the same $1800 to finish my treatment. So my treatment in Chicago escalated from 3 months plus $1800 to 10-13 months plus $3600, thanks to Dr. Spector.The best part was when Dr. Spector refused to give me any refund, even for the services and retainer that he has not provided. He said because he spent 7 months on my case, he deserves to be paid every dollar, no matter what the result is. Now that hes been paid in full, tough luck - Im on my own. To call this guy a used-car salesman would be an insult to all the used-car salesmen out there - at least most used-car salesmen are honest, respectable people. This guy is a thief.

There were times when I was late with my payments, and his office was forgiving and non judgmental of my circumstances.I highly recommend him to anyone who is looking to have their teeth fixed, as you will be satisfied with the whole experience. I called the office to ask if they accept Cigna DHMO and they said yes. On my appointment date I meet Dr. Spector and he is very nice, but he tells me he is thinking of dropping Cigna DHMO soon and gives me a lecture about how the plan is hurting the industry or something. I just wanted some dental work done, and instead I wasted an evening by someone who could have led me straight from the beginning. Again, he was very nice but I feel this was mildly unprofessional.edit: Dr. Spector called me after writing this and reminded me my appointment was in the evening at 6:15 pm and it is indeed hard to get an appointment at that time. I originally had said it was in the afternoon, but I suppose it was indeed the evening. Per his call, Ill also add that I wasnt charged for anything.edit2: Not sure that its appropriate to mention my personal details including appointment date and employer on a public forum; I would consider this another example of mildly unprofessional behavior. Clearly Dr. Spector is passionately against DHMO plans. All I ask is that be made clear from the beginning, and if you dont like the plan, you simply dont need to accept it. Lastly, waiting 6 months does not discredit any of the details in the post.

So happy I found Doctor Spector. He was able to fix a tooth that has been moving around for years! Now my teeth are finally straight and I didnt even have to get braces (for a second time)! My experience with Millennium Park Orthodontics and Dr. Spector has been nothing short of spectacular. I went to see Dr. Spector after having a terrible Invisalign experience with a dentist on S. Michigan Ave. Even after having a bad experience, it didn’t take long for Dr. Spector to gain my full trust.Dr. Spector is very skilled. He has a lot of experience; he knows what works and what looks good, and his results speak for themselves. It got to the point where I moved forward with his every suggestion without hesitation, as I fully trusted it was the right path. Every detail was executed with precision: very neat application of Invisalign “buttons” - no visible glue that stains and precisely shaped attachments. Dr. Spector uses high quality materials and advanced tools; my aligners usually fit perfectly. I experienced almost no discomfort going through Invisalign treatment with Dr. Spector - the complete opposite of my first experience with the other dentist.Dr. Spector says that his orthodontics business “isn’t a business, it’s a profession”, and he truly lives this. Dr. Spector was by far and away the best orthodontist I could have worked with to fix my teeth as an adult! His first consultation was very thorough and he was a great listener and understanding of all of my concerns, both financially and in terms of how this process would fit into my adult/professional life without too much hinderance. I did lingual braces with him (which are difficult to find in any city) and the results are fantastic! It was a joy to come see him since him and his office staff are a fun bunch with a laid back atmosphere, and I couldnt be happier. Over the past year, Dr. Spector has expertly aided me in creating a beautiful, straight smile (if I do say so), along with his capable staff, using the Invisalign treatment. Please save your self time and money and don’t come to this Doctor. He overcharged me, he refuses to give me back the money he owes me since he was in network.. he compromised my teeth with one year treatment I got there.. but the worst is not al of these.. the worst is that he is incredibly manipulative liar, he tries to intimidate me as well and he blackmailed me he won’t give me back the money unless I sign his personal documents that I will never charge him for anything or put a bad review.. and we are only talking about my overpayment not everything he got paid according to my insurance plan. Not fully trained doctor for difficult cases but he will never tell you he will be all nice on your first appointment so he can take the money then expect him not to be in the office at all on your appointment. It happened with me twise!

This was my first appointment with Dr. Spector. I was very impressed with the facility and the professionalism of the staff. I was seen on time and was in and out of my appointment in a timely manner. Dr. Spector was a pleasure to meet and clearly takes a lot of pride in his work.

Before I met Dr. Spector. I had a double tooth on the bottom, the adult tooth came, but the baby tooth never fell out. I also had 2 baby canine teeth, the adult teeth never came in. Not to mention I had all 4 wisdom teeth still impacted. It took a LOT of work and patience.I had to have an oral surgeon laser through my gums so that Dr. Spector could put a bracket on the baby tooth and guide it into place. It felt like forever... I would get so frustrated when Dr. Spector told me that I needed more time, which seemed like every time, but HE WAS RIGHT and once he was done, it was PERFECT! He was able to guide in one of the adult canines, the other was too far gone, but he did a great job aligning the baby tooth that is still there. The pulled the baby tooth that was at the bottom & closed the gap. The time was more than worth it, I get compliments on my smile daily & it’s been a huge confidence boost. I wouldn’t change a thing.

After calling more orthodontist offices than I can even count, I called Dr. Spectors office to see if hed replace my upper permanent retainer, which spans six of my teeth. All the other offices I called said they would only give me an upper retainer that covered four of my teeth, but Dr. Spector and his team agreed to replace my retainer as I had it before, and they did a wonderful job! He and his team were so accommodating throughout the entire process--from scheduling the appointments to the appointment itself. I highly recommend Dr. Spector.

Dr. Spector straightened my teeth in 2008. I still visit him when my retainer has the occasional run-in with a cinnamon gummy bear, which he has taken care of for free. I can not say enough good things about Dr. Spector and his staff, especially the actual orthodontic work.. They are all courteous, friendly, and professional. And Dr. Spector always sends me back to my dentist when he spots something thats not right. I visited 2 other orthodontist before finding him. I just finished my treatment and I am very happy with the results.In the beginning of the treatment I didnt ask any questions, so Dr. Spector was giving more of a general idea of what is going to happen. At some point during the treatment, I had some concerns and I called Dr. Spector. He was very accommodating to fit me in his schedule to address all of my questions. I felt like after that He was explaining everything that is going to happen in detail, so I didnt have to worry.I liked that re-scheduling appointments is very easy.( I felt like no one there takes vacations). Sometimes I had to wait a bit longer but a lot of people come to Dr. Spector so thats bound to happen.Additionally, I felt like his staff is very professional even though they joke all the time while they work.I think his office is very convenient for people who work downtown as there is a CTA station a few blocks away.

I was SUPER hesitant to start any sort of treatment (as someone who had years of braces and retainers). I did a lot of research and information-seeking before finally deciding to move forward with Invisalign. Dr. Spector and his staff were amazing from beginning to end - helping to ease my concerns and make me feel comfortable throughout the process. Any time I had a question, I was able to easily call or email and get an immediate answer. Going in for my regular appointments was a breeze - and it was great to see the friendly faces of the entire team. I always felt better after an appointment (which is such a great feeling). I chose Dr. Spector for my invisalign treatment because of all the good reviews online. However, my experience with him is far from satisfactory. He only took a look of my tooth one time during the initial consultation, and I didnt get to see him in person even one time in my remaining visits even when I directly asked for him.I was asked to come over every two weeks. However, almost every time I was there, they simply just handed me the trays without bothering to take a look of my tooth condition, and I’ve been with them for almost a year. I know some friends who are doing invisalign with other orthodontist. In comparison, I feel Dr. Spector is not very responsible for his patients.

I called a few months ago to inquire about invisalign services and he told me he was no longer taking patients. I spoke with him personally and he didnt even offer to put me on the waiting list so I am quite astonished with some of the newer reviews saying that they recently started treatment. WOW. I was paying in cash too and not using my insurance.UPDATE: As you see from the other reviews Howard Spector is on a verbal rampage again. Please note that he lied, I have no idea what an Invisalign Concierge Program is. Hes has been listed as a provider via my insurance for 5 years. I researched him years ago. I had one tooth on the bottom that was pushed back and I wanted to straighten it without getting traditional braces. Dr. Spector introduced me to lingual braces that went on the back of my bottom 6 teeth. They were not visible to anyone and after a week or two I barely noticed that I had them on. Initially he told me it would probably take about 8-10 months but after 6 months my teeth looked perfect and I had them removed. Every experience I had at the office was pleasant and overall I couldnt be happier that I made this decision. If youre considering an orthodontist in Chicago, I highly recommend seeing Dr. Spector. Im very impressed with Dr. Spector and his entire staff. Everyone works in unison, like a well-oiled machine. I love the fun rapport they have! He is familiar with every patient and their status. Wait time in general is very short. I like that hes pretty nuts and bolts, and personally evaluates and assesses each case, rather than run it through some random software set-up. In fact, I liked the work hes done on my 7th grader so much that 8 months ago I signed up for braces for myself! We interviewed several orthodontists - youll spend plenty of time with your orthodontist and its important to be comfortable with them! Dr. Spectors practice was a no-brainer.....and his pricing came in lower, too!

I first saw Dr. Spector about 13-14 years ago to correct my teeth that had shifted after I wore braces as a teenager. I decided to go with Invisalign, and the process was easy, smooth, and after all this time Im still happy with the results. ...I bet youre wondering why Im posting a random review for a service I received over 10 years ago, arent you? Im here to say that Dr. Spector is someone who stands by his work and treats patients like family. After I was done with Invisalign he placed a permanent retainer on my teeth. It recently came loose (which is rare to begin with, and the fact that I went so long without any issues says something). I emailed the office, and Dr. Spector himself emailed me back with a holy cow! greeting and fit me in that evening. When I arrived at his office - a place I hadnt been in maybe 12 years - he greeted me warmly, his assistant remembered me, and they fixed me up and I was on my way in mere minutes. I cant believe they not only remembered me, but went out of their way to help me so quickly after all this time. As much as I adore Dr. Spector I hope I wont need his services again (and I doubt I will since hes good at what he does), but if I do I have no doubt that I will receive the best treatment and care in Chicago.

I have been a client of Dr. Spector’s for a few years. In my time I have seen how he is very knowledgeable in the field and how He has a method to his madness. All of his staff have been great. Many times the staff have stepped up to make the experience more comfortable and less stressful. It’s a small office and sometime customers are very rude, and I appreciate how it’s usually handled. The whole team at Dr. Spector’s office are willing to help assist any last minute issues and are always friendly when I have visited. The Front desk staff always seem willing to answer any questions and are very helpful. Dr. Spector is one of the top professionals in the City, and is old school. He guarentees the work. They look like a small office, but they must produce some of the largest numbers in Chicago, it is always busy. Dr. Spector and his team work that office like clock work. He is very fair, reasonable, and direct with all his services offered. My advice, trust the staff and their knowledge. Patience is key, to a great smile. I love that they have been so attentive to my needs in the past years, and have even squeezed me in for multiple emergency appointments. I owe my great smile to the whole staff. Of the values I respect in an orthodontist, Dr. Spector and his team checked all the boxes. I first went there in 2015 for a consultation regarding some shifting in my teeth. I had braces as a teenager and Dr Spector even knew my orthodontist from my hometown in Wisconsin. His advice and treatment plan was communicated to me without a sales pitch and was a no-nonsense plan based on expertise. Over the course of my treatment, hed ask me about things in my personal life I had mentioned to him months prior. You can tell he and his staff care about their patients on a personal level. His staff clearly know what they are doing, and the front desk staff is always on the ball. Its such a pleasant experience when someone just immediately understands what you need without you having to explain ad nauseam.After my treatment, I went back in because my permanent retainer had come lose due to an injury. He promptly fixed it, and noticed some gaps in my lower teeth that had emerged since my treatment had ended. Without pause, he offered to get new invisalign trays to correct it. Hes a perfectionist, and its certainly a desired trait in an orthodontist.

Here are some things to consider when picking yours and a why I was so happy with him:Value:I got quotes from other dentists for the same service, which were 4-5 times Dr Spectors price. Also there are no hidden charges - the price he gives is the price you pay.Wait Time:Typically when you go to a dentist you can wait up to 15 minutes, which can become a big deal when you go there every month for two years. I was impressed that wait times were more like 5 minutes.Options:Hes qualified and experience in a range of orthodontic solutions I didnt know existed.I ended up with lingual braces which are the traditional wire frame braces just at the back of your teeth. These were hidden entirely and didnt need to be taken on or off or risk getting stained. When I asked about these with other orthodontists they shied away from this as they are more difficult from them but this did not seem to be the case for Dr Spector, thankfully for me.Quality:If something didnt look right he would do it again. If something didnt feel right to me, he would look into it. If I had any discomfort after an appointment they brought me back in free of charge. The office is busy but quality is their upmost concern.Administration:Most dentists want you to pay everything up front and do your own work with insurance companies. Administration there dealt with everything which was super helpful. Also, even though there always had lots of clients, I never has any issues making appointments for times and days that worked for me.Location:Super convenient and central.Atmosphere:As I mentioned, I went to Dr. Spectors office once per month for over 2 years. Thats a lot of time, and Ill be honest I am not easily pleased.
