I attended Sunrise Dental Assisting School in 2008 and still today am so grateful I did. My experience in the school was awesome. The instructors were very attentive and always available. Since the school is based in a dental office you are able to have endless opportunities for hands on learning. In addition the schedule is very accommodating for all lifestyles. The last thing I would like to note about SDAS is that once you have completed the program Sunrise still advocates for you. Paulette Jolly is a tremendous help with job placement and helping you along your way. Now that Sunrise Dental has allowed me the entrance into the dental field I know dentistry is my passion. Sunrise Dental has been a great blessing to my life.

I am a recent graduate of sunrise school of dental assisting in raleigh! I started courses October 2018 and finished in January 2019. Mrs. Jennifer is an amazing instructor and always stayed late to help us. Class sizes were small so we were able to spend more time on each subject. I really enjoyed that this class was offered at night (6-9) 2 days a week, so I was able to still work during the day. I would highly recommend this school to anyone who is looking to start a new career in dentistry.

At Sunrise they give you the tools you need to become successful as a Dental Assistant. You have smaller numbers in the class, so you are able to have more one on one time with an instructor if needed. It is a fast paced class, but the instructor is willing to meet with you before class time if you need help. It is a good balance between lectures and actual lab time. You have great hands on experience and work with live patients (class members) in order to get an actual feel of what it would be like. The team at Sunrise Dental are very encouraging and push you to strive for your best. They also help with shadowing at different offices and even inform you if there are job openings at other offices. I would recommend this program to anyone and know that they would also get the great training that I have received!

I just recently graduated from the Sunrise Dental program at the Raleigh location and honestly it was a great learning experience. I not only met classmates that turned out to be friends of mine, but the new instructors there are so patient, kind, and truly care about educating students. They took their time to make sure we succeeded and I couldnt of asked for more. It is a fast paced course but you certainly know the basic tools you need for entering an office with confidence. This also fit perfectly with my schedule as I work a full time job during the day. I would recommend this program to anyone interested in Dental Assisting.

I attended Sunrise School of Dental Assisting in 2016. It was a very convenient program with it only being two days a week (at night) its the perfect career opportunity especially for someone who needs to work while going to school. Since graduating, I have had many opportunities open up one of which is working at Sunrise itself. I had an excellent instructor who helped as much as she could to prepare us for a job in the dental field. I would highly recommend signing up, you wont regret it!

Prior to attending Sunrise School of Dental Assisting I had zero knowledge of the dentistry field and what this career choice would have in store for me. I had an awesome instructor, as well as current Dental Assistants at Sunrise, to help guide me and continue to be successful in my career. Everyone has been extremely helpful and I have had nothing less than a great experience. After graduation, I was hired on by Sunrise and couldn’t be more happy with my job and the decision to attend Sunrise School of Dental Assisting! Thank you all!!

I am currently attending Sunrise school of Dental Assisting in Fayetteville NC. I chose to take the class because it is very convenient for me with having a small child. When entering into the class I knew from the start I would love it. Mrs. Tammy our instructor is simply amazing. She is there to give us the material needed to complete the class. During class she guides us on what needs to be done and makes sure we understand the importance of knowing the proper way and steps to complete each objective. I would highly suggest Sunrise School of Dental Assiting to anyone who thinks they are interested in the dental field. Thanks to Mrs. Tammy I know now without a doubt I have found my forever career.

Sunrise school of dental assisting is a great school! The teacher was so nice and was always ready to help and answer any questions that I had. I would choose Sunrise school of dental assisting over any other school becuase I learned everything I needed to know in just 13 weeks plus it worked with my current work schedule. I was able to work my full time job during the day and go to school at night! I also had a job waiting for me as a dental assistant as soon as I graduated! Sunrise school of dental assisting has taught me so much! I was a former worker in an emergency room at a hospital and had little knowledge about dental, but now that I’ve graduated I feel well educated as a dental assistant! I would recommend this school to anyone who has a desire to become a dental assistant!

Sunrise School of Dental Assisting is a program that allows anyone who is interested in establishing a career in dentistry the opportunity to obtain the knowledge necessary to become efficient and successful as a dental assistant. It is a rigorous and fast paced 13-week program where you will learn chair side techniques, dental equipment and instruments, dental anatomy, and methods for patient care. You will be able to learn the fundamentals in a professional classroom setting, as well as gain hands-on experience through laboratory procedures. My personal experience in the program was rewarding and beneficial. I was able to earn my Dental Assistant I certification, Radiology certification, CPR certification and OSHA emergency training. Since the program, I was fortunate to find employment and now I have my DA II status. The most important thing to understand about a program like this is that you have to be willing to put in the time and dedication to succeed. Things move quick and there is a lot you must learn to complete the program.A program like this is not for everybody, but if you feel that you are disciplined enough to learn the material and techniques you will do great. Certain things I would recommend anyone do before starting the program is to go on the dental assistant national board website and learn about the differences between a DA I and DA II. As a DA I you do have certain limitations as to what you are able to do. For example, you will not be able to get your coronal polishing certification until you are a DA II. You will become a DA II after you have worked full time for 2 yrs, or accumulated a total of 3000 hrs. The benefit of being a DA I is that you are able to work right away compared to doing a 1 yr DA II program. That will allow you to begin working and gaining significant experience. No matter what you do in any program, nothing is more important than experience. Also start networking right away. Look for offices where you can volunteer or shadow before getting into the program. You can even look for offices that may be hiring for sterilization techs or office assistants. This will make things a lot easier for you when you complete the program and start looking for employment. Most importantly, make sure that you stand out. The class sizes are small which makes it easy for you to interact with your instructors. Even though they may not tell you, they look at the ones who are showing up on time, maintaining good grades, and are able to learn the techniques easily. This allows them to recommend students to offices that are looking to hire. I feel comfortable speaking well about the program because I am where I am because of Sunrise School of Dental Assisting. Hopefully this helps any of you who are thinking about completing the program.

My experience with this school was fantastic. The instructor Wendy was very detailed with the lessons and gave close personal attention when things needed to be better explained. I felt fully prepared when I started working, and I have been at my dental office for 4 years now and I could not be happier with my decision.

It was a good program. I met a lot of nice people a little hard at times because it was an accelerated course but overall the course was a good one. You get hands on experience with some of the tasks that you will do as a DAI and the teachers were nice, patient, and encouraging.

I started my class in May 2012. I had trained in Sunrise dental office in chapel hill. I graduated in September 2012. However it is really difficult to find a job because most of dental office looking for Dental assisting II, which this course does not help to get progress in career. Also I get competitive with too many in the area because they are graduate from UNC or community college. If you want to take this course make sure that you can find a job because you will be paying too much money for nothing.

I am a recent graduate of the Sunrise Dental School of Dental Assisting and I would not recommend this program to anyone. I was eager to learn a new trade and thought about the career I could begin after graduating, my feelings have changed. In the beginning it was great however as the program progressed I started to see many issues. Listed below are many reasons why I would choose a different program....- Equipment is broken or about to break, dirty, and there is not enough to learn in small groups. i.e. Dexters and xray developers were a BIG problem.- Instruction is very brief and without much detail.- Lack of instructor one on one; class of 20 with only 2 instructors makes this difficult- Not learning any of the dental software programs or digital radiology; in which most job postings it states they want someone proficient in these areas.- Instructors lack of professionalism; such as snarky comments to students, making student feel like they are being a bother.- Not receiving graded work prior to taking a test on that information; would like to know what I needed to study.- Entire course schedule seems disorganized.- Students receiving special treatment; allowed to miss more class hours than the allotted 6 hours. The list could go on but I think you get the idea. Before applying to any school make sure you research and understand what you are getting for your time and money. Will not recommend Sunrise Dental School of Dental Assisting to anyone!!
