Staff here are courteous and professional. My appointments have been on time and procedures were like clockwork. Dr. Washington and his team explained what was being done and answered any questions I had. When a secondary procedure was required following the initial surgery there was no additional charge. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I had a tooth extracted by another periodontist and after a week and several follow ups I was still in extreme pain. My dentist referred me to Dr. Washington. He was the only provider who listened to me and offered help. I was due to go on vacation so he worked my surgery in to his schedule on a Friday. He called me that evening to see how I was doing and sending me home with chocolate ice cream was also a nice touch! I am so grateful to Dr. Washington for helping me.

I went to Dr. Washington in September 2020 for root/gum work referred to him by my general dentist. I was satisfied with the work for which I paid over $2000 out of pocket. I went back last week, May 25, 2021 for follow up cleaning and check up and asked repeatedly the cost which I would again pay out of pocket since although Medicare and my BCBS supplement will pay general dentist for x-ray and cleaning not periodontics. I was informed it would be $169 with my senior discount. When I arrived I was told to pay $239 which included x-rays. I informed them I was not doing x-rays as I could not pay it and would have general dentist do those. The cleaning was done, Dr. Washington came in and made a less than 5 minute exam and I left. Upon check out I then was told my bill was $232.20! When I asked why as no x-rays were done I was told it was because Dr. Washington came in and did an exam!I was in shock and could not believe they had charged me an additional $63.20 for an exam which 1) should have been included in the procedure 2) should not cost an extra amount of such an astronomical amount and 3) I should have been told that when I called and asked numerous timesBEFORE I made the appointment or at the check in process.This procedure is very unfair to patients and I feel it should be made known to those patients who are not prepared to pay this cost and are surprised as was I at the check out process when I had gone over and above my part in explaining how much I could pay BEFORE I went in to their office.

Had an apt @ 3pm.Prior to my visit, they collected ALL necessary information.I was taken into the room and the Dental Hygienist spent 30 minutes entering (What they had for days) the data into my chart.At 4 pm I had not even seen a Dentist.I WALKED OUT!

I came to Triangle Periodontics with a referral pertaining to treating bone loss. The first visit/eval was pleasant. The second visit for the main treatment. I was given no instructions on how to prepare and what to expect for the treatment. Specifically, three prescriptions were supposed to be picked up and all taken about an hour before procedure and continued for the next week following. I had no idea. No one communicated that to me. Their response is that they had called in prescriptions a few days beforehand. No one from their office told me. When I asked what pharmacy they called on the prescriptions, they didn’t answer me. I was only asked what my pharmacy was, which I provided, and they stated that’s the one they called. They then assured me that they would resend the prescriptions. Fast forward three hours after I left the office, I’m at the pharmacy and the pharmacy still does not have any prescriptions for me. I had to call Dr. Washington’s office to inquire about it, which again I was told that they would look into it after they were done with a patient. 2 hours later, I finally had my prescriptions.The other aspect that I wish would have been communicated to me was that I was to start a liquid diet immediately after treatment for three days and then transition to a “mushy” diet for the next four days after that. If given notice, I could have prepared my pantry at home before the appointment.I’m just overall extremely disappointed with the lack of communication done by Dr. Washington’s staff/office.

Dr. Washington and his staff are excellent! All are friendly, thorough and accommodating. I have been going to Triangle Periodontics for a couple of years, and each visit is a pleasant experience. The staff is so helpful from the moment you walk through the door until you leave. I have had both Regina and Ashley as my dental hygienist, and both are very personable and knowledgeable. A great group of people!!

Though the years (10+) of service, Dr. Washington and his team have maintained a level of excellence that is rarely found today. He and his staff have an innate ability to remember their patients and their needs, beyond what is noted in your dental records. They have my business for the unforeseeable future and my high recommendations to potential clients!

I would like written instructions for preparing for the procedure and expectation post-procedure. For instance, I received the medications ahead of time, but the label directions on the antibiotic did not indicate that I should take it prior to the procedure. Additionally I did not have any directions prior to the procedure regarding dietary restrictions. With that, I could have purchased the groceries ahead of time.I was satisfied otherwise with the service at Dr. Washingtons office. In particular, the dental assistant was very thorough and helpful.

From the beginning of my visits over 2 years ago, Dr. Washington and his staff have been courteous and helpful. You always hear that no one wants to go to the dentist. It’s true but they make it more bearable. There are tremendous improvements with my teeth because of the care and information Dr. Washington’s office has given me. They let me know when I’ve been doing a good job with my personal dental care and in a gentle manner they also let me know what I need to work on. Dr. Otis Washington and his staff have always taken great care of me! They have put in an implant and removed wisdom teeth (all four) for me. I had great results on both! The implant was early this century. The wisdom teeth were in 2017. I was a little worried about the wisdom teeth just because I’m older but I had no problems and recovered quickly following what they directed me to do. I highly recommend them!

Dr Washington and his hygienists (Regina is #1 for both my father and myself) take their time to address concerns and closely watch each patients gums and teeth. I have been a patient of Dr Washington’s for at least 10 years. I have tried several times to convince him to take me on for my regular dental check ups as well as my periodontal visits. I have major anxiety when I visit the regular dentist, but I am much more comfortable at Dr. Washington’s office. His team members are awesome! You don’t feel like you are being pushed through the dental mill! I highly recommend this awesome team!

Here is my experience which I hope will be helpful to others. The big takeaway is ask for treatment plan and insurance coverage even before your first visit here.I was referred here by my regular dentist office to check on a gum bleeding problem which they found during my routine cleaning.The purpose of the visit here was to check on the bleeding and get a treatment plan and estimate $. My regular dentist already sent the detailed report and x-ray of evaluation they did in advance to Dr. Washingtons office.During my visit to Dr. Washingtons office they again did the SAME dental evaluation (which was done 2 weeks back by my routine dentist) and did not even let me know that my Insurance covers only 2 such evaluations a year. I believe that repeating the same test is completely unnecessary for a patient who is referred here for a specific issue. Plus the evaluation did not find any issue other than bleeding in gum below one tooth as found originally by my dentist.I called them to ask for an explanation on why the same the dental evaluation was done again, the answer was this is our standard procedure. It might be a routine procedure for a new first time patient, but in my case I was referred here with all the details and x-ray about the problem. A new and latest x-ray of the tooth/gum with bleeding I think is completely reasonable, but the evaluating my whole mouth/teeth set for a problem in one gum I think is very unfair to do without letting the patient know and considering their Insurance coverage etc.One other interesting thing they told me during the discussion is its your insurance, you should be aware of the coverage. How do I know what service is provided to me unless you tell me in advance??? I believe your Standard procedure should be to inform the patient and estimate the work before actually doing it.Anyway, I walked out of here with surprise $$$ payment and my insurance will not cover bulk of it. Having said that the hygienist who helped and the other staff were very nice. I did not get the same vibe from the Doctor unfortunately. I think afternoon/evenings are not ideal for dental visits.Anyway, I decided not to go back for further treatment here. Complete waste of time and $$$.

Literally the worst experience ever. This guy botched my surgery. My HR representative for my employer has reached out to this doctor to request a refund for my copay and to ask them to cancel the insurance claim. I will be going to another periodontist to fix my gums. Hoping that his doctor and his staff will do the right thing but given the interactions with them I am not sure how they will proceed. Also, I think it is noteworthy that this doctor gave himself a review. Who does that? Seems kind of tacky to me.

Every aspect of how job is handled here is just perfect. Got laser gum surgery and multiple cleanings, and every time I had an impression that personnel is targeted on the long term health of my gum and teeth, not just on making single surgery.

This experience has literally changed my life and perhaps even extended it. First of all the staff is amazing and professional. My needs were many and challenging but Dr. Washington took excellent care of me. He is gentle, patient and extremely wise. I have gained several unexpected benefits from my procedure (a complete scaling and abscess removal, tissue removal to lengthen tooth for a cap). I lost weight, my breath smells a million times better and believe it or not I am regular (bathroom usage). Please go - good dental health supports your foundation for good health through-out your entire body.

My experience this time was great. The staff was very courteous from the time I walked in the door.

Dr. Washington is the best! He saved my teeth and he saved me about $15,000.I had extensive bone loss involving my 3 lower front teeth. Paralyzed with fear, I let the situation go longer than I should have.I went to 3 dentists in the field of bone loss before coming to Dr. Washington. One was a big TV dentist - he offered to pull all three teeth and put in implants - - a 2 year project that would involve extensive painful surgery and a long healing process at a price of $15,000.Another consult wanted to pull all three teeth and put in a long bridge, which would involve grinding 2 perfectly healthy teeth on either side of the 3 teeth in order to attach the bridge ends. Cost - approximately $12,000.I went to my general dentist in tears and told him I did not want to loose my teeth, and the costs were outrageous. I took my dentist a list of about 60 dentists covered by my insurance and asked him who he recommended that could help me.Enter Dr. Washington. At my first visit with Dr. Washington, I had a booklet of questions and spent almost an hour asking all my questions about bridges, implants, extractions, pain levels, how long the prosthetics would last, which procedure he recommended, etc, etc., etc.Dr. Washington very patiently allowed me to ‘get it all out’. Then he softly said ‘you don’t have to have any teeth pulled. I can fix that.’ Whaaa?I’ll never forget that day. I jumped up and grabbed his neck and hugged him (probably startling him). Dr. Washington’s calm steady manner was soothing and put my mind at ease.He explained the latest laser treatment technology and said he would go in and the laser treatment would kill and remove all dead tissue and any bacteria. He said the treatment would also stimulate bone growth.He said he would install a wire bar on the back of my lower teeth to hold them in place while the bone regenerates.COST (after insurance):$750 wire bar$760 laser surgeryI acheduled the appointments IMMEDIATELY and the entire procedure was completed in 2 appointments in less than 2 weeks.X-rays from 2017 show a big black hole (looks like the size of a quarter on x-ray).X-rays from 2018 show the same area filled in and translucent bone area about the size of a dime, meaning bone was regenerating, but slower in that small area.Before the laser procedure, there was no bone at all on either side of the middle tooth and no bone whatsoever on one side of the 2 surrounding teeth.All teeth have bone growth now. The outer teeth are completely solidified with bone. The middle youth has just a bit further to go.The aftercare provided by Dr. Washington’s staff is just as outstanding. His staff are very experienced in what they do. They have alot of expertise in saving teeth and will teach you how to maintain your teeth in their best condition.If you have bone loss, please do not let a prosthetic dentist pull your teeth and go through a long painful and astronomically expensive process until you have given Dr. Washington the opportunity to save your teeth.Dr. Washington’s business model is to SAVE teeth, not extract them. He and his staff will do everything in their power to save your teeth. He puts his patients’ well-being above all else.Also - for the record - any doctor will tell you - bone loss is not necessarily a hygiene issue - bone loss occurs with many chronic conditions, such as diabetes and other metabolic syndrome disorders, certain vitamin deficiencies, or genetic predisposition.If you are managed for any chronic disease along these lines, you should keep a check on this. Also, trauma or injury to the area can set you on a course for bone loss.In closing, Dr. Washington is not only a phenomenal dentist - he is also a wonderfully kind and caring human being. You will be comforted by his presence.I will be eternally grateful to Dr. Washington and his staff for their kind care and for saving my teeth.God Bless.
