Dr. Yount saved my jaw. He and the staff are so compassionate and really care for their patients. Im so glad I went to this clinic!

Dr. Yount is a skilled clinician. He was able to accurately diagnose and treat a condition that was a mystery to many other doctors. Visit Dr. Yount if you want competent care and a friendly patient experience.

Dr. Yount was very helpful in guiding me through managing facial/jaw pain from an accident involving smashing my face on the ocean floor (at least I was having fun.) His willingness to listen to my needs and concerns, the materials he provided, and the mouth appliance he made all have contributed to a reduction in my pain and helped me better manage my pain. I would highly recommend Raleigh Facial Pain Center. One thing to know in advance: he does not file insurance (you can get forms to file yourself and his services do qualify as medical not dental) and payment in full is due at each visit. It was expensive, but well worth it. I am in New Bern NC and Dr. Yount was known to and well thought of by my dentist, endodontist, and physical therapist.

For the longest time I was in severe pain in my ears with no explanation as to why. I went to several doctors, many of whom thought I was making it up since there was nothing wrong with my ears. Finally one ENT discovered it was TMJ by putting pressure under my jaw where the bottom meets the top and having me slowly open my mouth. After he scraped me off the ceiling from the pain he sent me to Dr. Yount.Dr. Yount was terrific working with me and my TMJ. He has a notebook that he has put together and you get a section or two each time so that you can process and work on the information as you learn about TMJ and how to make the pain stop and prevent flare-ups. He is great at explaining things and had several ways of working with it so I could choose what worked with me.I was frustrated some in the beginning as the mouth piece he creates and other things takes some time and I continued to be in pain. But it has been several years now and I havent had any flare-ups in so long I have lost track. I continue to see him about once a year or so to make minor adjustments on my mouth guard, which I use every night while I sleep.I still have the notebook and have referenced it every now and then. If nothing else - it is great at helping finding stress relief as TMJ is often triggered by stress.I would recommend him to anyone.(P.S. - His bedside manner and sense of humor is great and really helps too)

Very Positive! I was treated for tinnitus and TMJ. Dr.Yount helped me with both problems by treating me with a plan that included physical theropy, bio-feedback, and medication as needed. He also provided written material and counseling that helped me better understand how I could deal with my problems in the future. I feel much better after being treated at Raleigh Facial Pain Center.I would recommend Raleigh Facial Pain Center to anyone that wants an alternative to just medication alone. I was diagnosed with TMD (temporo-mandibular disorder) July 2013. I had a great dentist who made a night guard for me, and I started physical therapy. After 6 months, I had not made sufficient progress. My dentist, physical therapist, and myself discussed this. We decided that I should see Dr.Yount. I went through an extensive treatment plan with Dr. Yount. He also made a new night guard/splint for me, which is extremely beneficial. I completed the treatment plan June 2014. I was ecstatic! I never thought I would have full recovery,but I did! I will continue to wear the night guard indefinitely to help prevent any further issues.Thank you very much, Dr. Yount. I also want to thank Phyllis at Dr. Younts office. She is always pleasant and very helpful with the paperwork.
