This salon is AMAZING. So, a little context - my hair was wrecked, and I mean, ABSOLUTELY wrecked by a family friend who did a terrible dye job with my hair (horrible brassy highlights, bad haircut, just all-around walking hot mess) and so I called different hair salons in this local area to ask about color correction and a much shorter haircut. When I arrived here, the hairstylist was very sweet and made sure that I got my natural hair color back with a beautiful-looking bob cut and I am IMPRESSED. I am also impressed that she was able to do a good job without proper lighting (the electricity went out during a rainstorm). Keep up the good work and thank you for giving me my confidence back!

I visited to purchase a full service as a gift for a young professional woman. The owner herself took considerable time to clearly explain the options and offer her professional recommendations. Her salon is impeccably decorated and clinically clean. She managed everything thereafter and the young woman could not have been happier! Thank you!Lastly, when all was complete, there was $20 left...please understand that she could have rolled that up and no one would have know...what an honest merchant! I was having a hard time finding a salon that could get me in a week before my sons graduation. I know I put it off and it was my own fault! However I called Salon Chemar & Elis answered the phone. She was so nice & understanding and was able to squeeze me in at the end of the day giving me time to come after work. The ladies who work here are all so sweet and professional! I was nervous to have my hair done by a new stylist but Elis was great. She took a faded red and gave me beautiful blonde highlights. I have a lot of curly hair and she was patient and thorough. Quality work and a friendly personality!

Chemar and Elis are wonderful. Elis was able to take me at the lat minute without an appointment. It was on a Tuesday. Dont try that on any other day of the week as they are very popular and always busy. Give them a try.

I just got a basic haircut from this place today and I was really anxious about how my hair would look afterward but I was extremely pleased with how Elis cut my hair. I asked for a simple trim and layers and she made sure I was satisfied along the process. She was extremely nice and gentle with my hair and the price was fair. All the ladies seem to be friendly and kind at this establishment. I’ll definitely be scheduling my future hair services with this salon. Thank you.

It’s hard finding someone that can cut and style men’s hair, but as soon as I sat down in the chair Elis made me feel comfortable and felt like I was in confident hands. She knew how to cut my curls so that they don’t spike and kept them just the way I liked them. Would recommend over and over again!

Elly was amazing!!! She cut and shaped my beard better than I could ever imagined. I was reluctant at first to have a different person cut my beard, but she understood what I wanted and nailed it 100%. Thank you very much for taking good care of me. I’ll be back for sure!

Nikki always cuts my hair and waxes my eyebrows. I’ve never had a haircut I liked until I started coming to her! I’ve never done color until now when I decided to spontaneously dye my hair blue myself with Splat (lessons learned), and it was impossible to get out of my hair myself. She did amazing and I’ve gotten so many compliments on the color of my hair since she fixed it! The whole staff is so friendly and fair, and the environment is just lovely. I can’t say enough good things about this place! Highly recommend!

I always love coming here. I see Chemar and She. Is. AH-MAZING! Atmosphere is welcoming and pleasant. As far as talent all the girls are great, but Chemar is bar none, the best. My hair always comes out fabulous and she takes her time to talk with me about options when I have no idea what i want. So glad I found this salon, its the only place I will go anymore. HIGHLY recommend. It is not some swanky salon, but it suits your needs, the experience is always friendly and super enjoyable.

I also loved that she didn’t give unsolicited advice, I have very thin hair and I always get the “ oh you should try this or that” and I know, I know what my hair looks like and I’m self conscious about it, no need to remind me. So I appreciate Chanel not bringing my Hair problems into the topic. Will be coming again and requesting her every time!

Had my daughters hair done, we shortly explained what she wanted and the stylist did an amazing job. It took around 4 hours but didnt seem that long with all the pleasant conversations. Mrs. Tami Jackson did an amazing job on my 2yr old daughters hair. I was a little skeptical and nervous about how my daughter would react being that it was her 1st time in a real salon. Tami made it so easy for us and we have found our new “home”. Thank You Tami and Owner Chemar for making us feel comfortable when I was uncomfortable not knowing how things would turn out. I called about a week ago to make an appointment, when I was asked about the service I wanted, I specifically stated I wanted a Dominican Blowout, the appointment was set, I went in on 5/22, the stylist was nice but had no idea what a Dominican blowout was or how to do it, I got a wash, blowdry and flat iron for 45 dollars, I was so aggravated when I left, I actually had to pull over in my car, the stylist put gel on my edges, we never do that, my hair is natural, no chemicals, so by the time I pulled out the parking lot, my roots started to curl right back up, so when I pull my hair back, I got nappy roots, and edges, with the rest straight..Im done, When I get a blowout, I never leave the salon without my hair being wrapped, it last me a month or so,. After my visit to this salon, the next day my hair looks a hot mess, Will not return, if you or your stylist have no idea what a Dominican blowout is or how to do it, DONT SCHEDULE THE APPOINTMENT

They were nice and there was no wait but the hair cut was terrible. I asked for a trim and she (Nikki) missed a lot of hair so now I have these long hairs in some places 😒 I also asked for bangs and I showed her a picture of exactly what I wanted but she decided to do her own thing (like they always do anywhere I go 😒). I have not had a good experience in years so Im jist gonna cut my own hair from now on. So disappointed.

I visited Salon Chemar today for the first time. I arrived 1/2 hour early and didnt have to wait at all. Chemar cleaned up the short haircut Id given myself in quick order, and exactly as I asked. I havent had my hair professionally done in a long, long time. I am from out of state and moved here about 6 months ago. I was hesitant to trust someone with what I thought to be impossible hair. I got so sick and tired of fighting with my hair and I decided to make an appointment. I came in with an idea to make my hair easier to manage and Diana suggested another way that would make my life easier and that wouldnt damage my hair. The process was super easy and I was out the door faster than I expected. All of the other stylists were very nice and easy to talk to! Very kid friendly! Diana fixed a bad haircut I had given myself. She listened to what I wanted and recommended a style that worked for my thin hair. I am so pleased with how it looks as if it has more density than it actually does. It has more shine and bounce. I love it!

Went in for a color correction and some help taking care of my nieces hair. She was able to correct her color and style it without having to cut much of it off. My niece loved color and we have already seen an improvement in her overall hair health.

Salon Chemar is definitely a place I would recommend. I have never took the time to rate and/or review a place of business. However, I recently moved to Killeen from Atlanta and thought I may be able to help new residence in their quest to finding a new hair salon. My experience was one of the best experiences Ive had at a salon to date. My visit to Salon Chemar was definitely challenging for my stylist. I did a number on cutting my own hair. They were very professional and turned an embarrassing moment into a situation I could be relieved of. My cut came out great!!! And my hair was full of bounce. Might I add I have been transitioning for a year, so I was very pleased with how straight they got my natural hair. The salon itself was very clean and all the stylist were very friendly!!! Not your typical Dominican salon where all the stylist are speaking Spanish. They were very engaging with clientele. If youre looking for a new salon, this is definitely the place to visit.

My wife went here. It was ghetto like the rest of Killeen. My wife was frustrated when she left and was not satisfied with how her hair looked or felt. Hairdresser used a cheap hair dryer without a diffuser and a it had a comb attachment which was painful. All hair product applied made her hair feel and look dirty and crunchy. So much for a simple trim.

This was my first time ever going to this shop let alone a shop in Texas since I moved here from OKC in 2015, and it was amazing! No regrets from the time I walked in to the time I walked out! Tamara Jackson is a natural hair saint! My hair feels beautiful and light! And even though there was a lot of damage to my ends all over my head she managed to fix that problem with out completely chopping my hair off! I haven’t had a trim or even been in a salon over a year, I’ve been natural for almost 6. This is a fabulous salon in a great location. I thoroughly enjoyed the environment and the owner, Chemar, was amazing. The salon was clean and the prices were VERY reasonable. I will definitely visit again.

First and last time. I explained many times, I just wanted to trim 1/2 an inch of each layer of my hair, she cut 6 inches of my hair. Then she straightened it so much to cover her mess, but my hair is still 6 inches shorter. She didnt do a bad job, she just cut too much and that wasnt the plan. Very sad!

Great haircut! Not so great blow dry, but I have extremely curly hair that is difficult to manage. Really friendly staff.

In March I had an appointment to color my hair, and I also booked an appointment for my mom to have her hair cut and styled. Let’s start off by saying the women Tamika that did my mothers hair didn’t wash it or do anything basically. She sprayed my moms hair with water and cut it, and rushed my mom out the door and rushed me to pay because she has to go somewhere. Nextly my experience, I went in hoping to get green hair. I was told the color I picked they did not have at that moment, so I picked a different one. It took 2 hours of painful bleaching and dying to come to a laughable result. My hair was blotchy, icy blue and yellow and minty green. It was horrible, I asked my dresser to fix it. She didn’t know what to do so she had another stylist assist her. She ended up toning my hair with a darker green color, and 3 hours later after PAINFUL blow drying and brushing my hair was better but still horrible. I mentioned I had a very bad migraine and my mom had been waiting for me for an hour outside. The stylist didnnt seem to care and curled my hair for a photo. I’m assuimg for a portfolio. It was time to pay and they told me usually it would be $150 for a color but she said she would only charge me $100.. I looked at the online prices and it is not even that much for what I got. I spent 5 hours there to not even get the hair I wanted but a total mess. The 2 ladies that did my hair were nice yes, but I feel like the result, time, and money it took is worth 1 star.

I have NEVER done a review for any business, but I was so happy with my results that I had to share my experience. I was skeptical at first because of my grade of hair (semi natural African american hair) and because I was new to the area, but the beautician I seen (Chanel) did an AMAZING job on my head. I had a full head sew-in done and she NAILED it! Everyone was super nice, funny, and welcoming! Chemars is a GREAT place to go and kid friendly! ALL of the ladies are talented and can handle any texture of hair. A HUGE thank you to Chanel! You brought back a piece of me I havent seen in years! Thank you, thank you, thank you Salon Chemar!!!

I have been going to this salon since we PCSed to Texas. I have never had any problems until today. I am very very particular about my hair and who touches it because of past experiences. Today I went in and got color and cut. The color is done it is not what I wanted but the cut is unexceptable. I specifically showed a photo and asked can you do this without hesitation the owner who was doing my hair said yes. My hair looks nothing like what I asked for. My hair is a lot shorter than the photo and looks nothing like the long layered choppy bob I asked for. I of course started to cry because I was so upset because I knew there was nothing that could be done because my hair was now cut off. The only reply the owner gave to me was I am not going to have you treat me or the salon like this which infuriated me even more. Its my hair that just got cut off and you told me theres nothing you can do. Very unprofessional. The owner did not try to make this right. My girls also had their hair done and my oldest did not get her haircut the way she had wanted. She was given a inverted bob. Even though the picture was a long layered bob with bangs and a strip of hair longer in the front. The owner did ask if she could fix her hair but with the results of my hair I opted out of that fast. I am truly disappointed it takes a long time for me to trust someone to cut my hair. Like I said I have had no issues until today and I am devastated I look like I have a mullet and strips of hair in the front of my face shaping it. I paid my bill and told the owner I would not be back she did not care. So after over 3 years of going to this salon you can see how much I was of a valued customer. Now I get to try to see if someone can salvage the hair I have left so I dont hate my hair. I am very upset and hurt by this experience.

Great salon! Chemar did an awesome job with my hair. I have naturally tight curly hair that comes down pass my shoulders. So there are not too many stylists that know how to work with my hair. I recieved all over hair color, straighten my hair, and recut my layers. When my hair is straightened, I can sit on my hair. My hair is time comsuming and Chemar didnt have any problems with handling my hair with care. I would definitely go back again.
