We moved here last year and my insurance told me I had to establish care with the primary physician before seeing an OBGYN. When I went and saw the Nurse Practitioner Janet 2 weeks ago I had high hopes for this office. I have been dealing with issues for 7 years and it takes me a long time to decide to go and see a doctor. Janet was kind and listened, sent me for my labs and imaging and didnt immediately just recommend an OBGYN so I thought they were going to help. Today I went in and I was seeing Dr. King I thought great I might get some answers. Dr. King never read the chart she assumed my age which you are asked your birthdate multiple times and asked me if I even had children, Everything was in the chart I filled out along with a sheet I had given to Janet explaining why I was coming in and all my symptoms in detail. Nothing had been read. She went over my labs and when I asked her about the other tests I had done and those results she didnt even know I had those tests and then said there were items on the results but they arent cause for concern. I asked her if she was telling me what I am experiencing is normal then and she said no I am not saying that and to just go and see an OBGYN if I want help she cant help me. I went home and switched providers and made an appointment with an OBGYN. Hopefully they will actually read what I have filled out and be a little more compassionate.

Susan C King has been my doctor for 18 years. I want everyone to know how absolutely wonderful she is. I am 74 years old. I have experienced a fair share of injuries and surgeries. Dr. King has guided me through most of those experiences. She is a perfect doctor. That being said, heres what I want to say about Dr. King: From my initial visit in 2002, unit now, this wonderful doctor has always demonstrated a patient, genuine concern for her patients. I cannot put into words how much this lady means to me. I have recently experienced significant depression. Dr. Kings willingness to listen, with obvious concern, is heart warming. I can truly state that Dr. King has impacted my life over these many years. Finally, her staff is fabulous. In particular, receptionist Jessica is a godsend. She is dealing with a very difficult family illness in her family. However, you would never know it; Jessica greets everyone with a genuine smile. My respect and love for her matches my love and respect that I have for doctor King. They are simply the best!!!!! Jim McIlwain

`she nor her staff are really clear on what I should be doing. I always felt confused. You also do not always see her but other staff. Which I do not have an issue with but others might. She would say I needed to do things and then go off talking about something else. Never following back up or what I would call wrapping up the visit. On a quick note if you are allergic to dogs or are afraid of dogs this is not the place for you. There is one that occasionally runs around the office.I travel and the last time I went I had called to make sure what I needed to be done could be. They reassured me this could happen with no problem so I came down over 600 miles to hear that I need to go do other test before she could help me. Keep in mind I was leaving again the next day. UggAt this point, I have moved doctors. I need to know what I need to be doing and when I need to do it. When traveling I need honest answers of what she can and can not do. Not horrible but not for me.

Dr King has been my physician for about 10 years. She helped me through a really tough time in my life with depression, and helps keep my diabetes in check. She does have few new assistants in the office and I rarely see her now. But I know if I needed to see her specifically she would be available.

My husband and i just began seeing Doctor King last spring. She has been fantastic. She is capable, intelligent and competent. Being a doctor or medical profession in this day in age is difficult, to say the least. We are very grateful she is in the profession and is local. Agree that the office staff could get more organized. She needs 1 dynamo to come in and streamline the office practice (greeters, calendar and appointment management, setting expectations with time /appointment estimates, setting up online records). That will have a tremendous impact on the overall office effectiveness.

This doctor and her office is a joke. First thing is, they make you wait too long. my appointment was at 9:30am and i saw the doctor at 10:30am. Secondly, the office is so cold they actually give you a BLANKET, yes a blanket to warm yourself. No bother to increase the temp. to warm the place up for patients who are sick already. Yeah just like in third world countries. Warm up with blanket. Not to mention a dirty blanket they keep giving to every patient who visits. The same blanket. The doctor doesnt even talk to you by looking to your face. She is busy writing the details in her computer when she suppose to actually examine you and diagnose you. She doesnt even bother to order any tests to cover certain general things such as, strep, flu, etc. instead she prefers to write a prescription and send you out to door. She doesnt even bother to get your temperature. Her nurse practioner doesnt even know how to spell some medication and asks you if you know how to spell it. Her office has a dog, yeah a dog. Yeah, you read it correctly, this is a doctor office who has sick patients has a dog in there. I wouldnt recommend this doctor to anyone. I think her practice should be stopped. She shouldnt be a doctor. I left the office in a awe and thinking if i am in a country which considered a third world country. Thats how bad my experience with her. Dont go there.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I am 50+ years old and have seen many doctors over my lifetime. I have never been charged EXTRA for asking a question during a well exam. What is a well exam? To me it is to discuss your wellness so why wouldn’t I ask about things I might be concerned about? The doctor was in with me nor more than 15 minutes and during that time asked me questions about things I had already spoken to her about previously AND she was prescribing medicine for and yet every time she walks in, she asks me again... so, have you had a hysterectomy? Ummm, shouldn’t you at least review your patients file before you walk in to speak with them? Am I justified in charging you because I have to answer the same question again? If you didn’t want to speak about what I asked why didn’t you say that? This is a sneaky practice at best! She doesn’t have any concern for her patients, just about making extra money! Beware!!! And, they want a credit card on file when you first come in! Big mistake!

I have seen Dr. King on numerous occasions for many different concerns. Occasionally I have had to wait a little bit but I figure that if she is taking a little extra time with another patient then, if needed, she would also take the extra time needed with me. She seems to be very knowledgeable and confident. The reviews on here dont seem completely accurate. Dont judge someone by one experience. You wouldnt want someone to judge you from just one time you met them especially if you were having an off day would you? Be considerate and fair. Dr. King is a wonderful person and doctor! If you are looking for a new doctor, it would be worth your time to make an appointment with her! I will bet that you will be satisfied with the care you receive!

I really like seeing Dr. King as my primary doctor. Shes straightforward and good at what she does, and she genuinely cares about her patients and takes an interest. Shes also very open to questions and curiosity, so dont be afraid to ask if you want to know more about something she says. Some of the office staff in the past have not been above and beyond amazing, but no one was incompetent and just smiling and being nice generally received a positive response. Based on the way some of the negative reviews are written, I would seriously question whether the fault lies with the office or with the reviewers themselves. Keep in mind its a doctors office and as such often runs behind as they try to give each patient the best care, which can sometimes take longer than the allotted appointment time. Remember that you would want the same level of care given to you, and if you are concerned about timing then make an appointment earlier in the day - their online scheduler is very convenient for that.

I highly recommend Dr. King. She has treated my husband and I for ten years now and I can honestly say shes the best doc Ive ever had. Susan is an intelligent, caring professional with a gift for asking the right questions, listening, making accurate diagnosis and offering realistic treatment plans. While I have waited on occasion for my appointment, I was always glad I did. Office staff may come and go - as it does anywhere - but what never changes is Dr. Kings wholehearted dedication to her clients.

Ive been coming here for about a decade, but this past time is going to be my last. For many of the reasons already stated by previous posters, its just not the place it used to be. I have been a patient of Dr. Kings for several years now and think she is one of the best family doctors in the Austin/Cedar Park area. She is professional, conscientious, personable and cares about her patients. I trust her completely; I have been seeing a psychiatrist for 7 years, in that 7 years he has not been able to find the correct medication for my depression. Dr. King figured it out in just one visit; she also followed up on me during the first couple of days on the new medication.

Dr. King and her Nurse practitioner are seemingly competent and subject matter experts in their fields, kind of matter of fact but nice enough. She addressed my issues and concerns accordingly, and was fairly accommodating in regards to allowing me to dictate my own healthcare. She at least heard me out and took my preferences and requests into consideration. Her office staff on the other hand... a nightmare. Honestly, I wasnt impressed with her office staff from the get go. I dont want to say that they were rude but they just didnt seem very friendly or personable. Anyhow... I got a $1500 bill from the lab because my diagnosis code was wrong and my insurance carrier told me this directly. My insurance carrier told me all that needed to happen was for them to change the diagnosis code and it would be covered. A month and a half later I finally get a response from Dr. Kings office. To sum it up they told me that labs werent covered under my insurance that I needed to take it up with the lab and/ or my carrier...

She’s the only healthcare provider that can prescribe me the medications I need to not kill myself, I don’t have insurance and so I can no longer afford to pay out of pocket to visit every 3 months, I moved 200 miles away for school and am in desperate need to be back on antidepressants and she still refuses to refill my prescription. I shouldn’t have to pay $100 to tell her that a medication that I know works for me is working.

I have tried 3 times to get an appointment without success. I am a new patient, but I guess there is no need for a new patient. Very frustrating. Tried through website, got a call back and was left a message. I called back saying I want to make an appointment and I am returning a call and was passed from one employee to another with the words someone called you ? and was never offered the appointment. So I hung up. Tried again calling today, thought it would be easier, but was left listening to a message saying :if you need an appointment, go to our website. It becomes funny (and sad) after a while. Luckily there are other doctors.

So I called the next day and they never picked up the phone. Now it’s the weekend and I have to wait until Monday to call again. Ridiculous.

I found Dr. King to be knowledgable and helpful in addressing my medical concerns in the past.It is suprising to me that she has the office staff she has. I have never been pleased with the reception I have received over the phone or in person.I work in the medical field and know how important it is to develop positive client relationships. It is disappointing to be treated without respect or (not so) common courtesy. Her office person actually hung up on me when I called to make an appointment. This startled me as I was very polite, not demanding, or taking undue time. Just wanted to assure her that I will not be troubling her again. I now have an appointment at another medical practice.

If you are going to run a Ideal Protein clinic out of your office (with a HUGE sign out front) you may want to have at least tried or have an understanding of the program and have reliable staff to run it. I came in for an appointment was left waiting over 45 minutes to be seen by the IDP Coach Julie. After waiting, seem like the Coach has her own rules to the program, ok -new coach new rules, but she made me buy extra products that I didnt need. She didnt have time to weigh or measure me in which is completely part of the program and especially since you just had me purchase extra items but hey another client had been waiting to long so asked me to come back. Why I came back I dont know but I came back on her request for another appointment just to weight & measure. Julie NO SHOWS for the appointment so Dr. King takes me back, she has NO clue on how to work the program, measure or weigh. I mean why wouldnt a doctor that is running a clinic not know the program, more or less how to use the scale and measure. The whole experience is so unprofessionally its beyond words. -less than 1 star

Unless you enjoy being lied to, ignored, and treated like an idiot, do not visit Susn Kings doctor office. She may be a great medical doctor, but she needs hire employees who are more competent than the ones she has. After waiting 30 minutes in the waiting room, I finally went over my insurance information with the girl working behind the counter; explained to her that I only wanted a well-woman exam (as basic as they come so that I could re-fill a prescription) and that I wanted to pay up-front for any services that I would be receiving that day instead of being billed through my insurance company since I had student insurance through my university. The girl spent 10 minutes on the phone with my insurance company and then explained to me that I would pay $120 for the well-woman exam, but that they recommend I have blood work done also since my insurance covers it 100%. She even went as far as to write down on my paperwork that my insurance provider covers blood work 100% as well as my well-woman exam. I explained that I would still prefer to pay for the office visit myself instead of going through the insurance company, so when my visit was over, I paid the $120 and decided to go ahead and have my blood work done.A month later I was hit with a bill for over $700 for the blood work. When I tried to explain the situation to the doctors office, no one was willing to hear me out. I kept being passed off to the nurse who had seen me during my visit and all she would say to me was that she would talk to Dr. King herself and see if she could do anything about the bill. All the while, everyone who I talked to in the office was rude and defensive of their fellow employee, telling me that I must have misunderstood her and it was my responsibility to take care of the matter and pay for my services. After months of dealing with the office staff and threatening to take them to court, my bill was passed along to a collections agency and had been reduced down to $450. By this time, 8 months had passed and I was still getting the run around from the doctors office, so I paid the bill for the blood work to avoid it affecting my credit. I thought that after swallowing the $450 bill, I was finally done with this horrendous experience. Then, came a bill from Susan Kings office in June 2013. Yep, over a year and a half after the doctors visit, I am being told that I owe close to $100. When I called and spoke with the office today, I was treated as if I was too simple of a person to understand how insurance policies work and even though she admitted that I may have been LIED to by one of their employees, I had signed a contract at the visit stating that I would be responsible for any charges that my insurance provider did not cover. So even though I had been told that I was paying for the entire visit up front, they actually went ahead and billed my insurance company, who then did not pay the whole charge that the doctors office tried to bill them, and I was stuck with the remainder.Moral of the story: Do NOT choose Susan King as your physician; no matter how competent she may be in the medical field, it does not make up for the sheer lack of humanity in her office. And if you for some bizarre reason choose to use her, dont give them your insurance information. Simply say that you do not have insurance and will be paying out of pocket. That way they cant go behind your back and bill your insurance company anyway.

Most horrible, awful, Human/Excuse for a Medical Doctor I have ever came in contact with in my 38 years of life !Dr. Susan King will always without a doubt make you wait well over 1 full hour for your appt even when you arrive early or come late_ ( I tried both options still made me wait an hour without fail.) Tried multiple times to address situation she did not care one bit. They have this thing called a clock that abides by this thing called time that we all in a normal working society follow. If you want to drag your feet and not worry that you are literally ruining peoples days and causing them to be late to other obligations yoy deserve to be fined a late fee !!!Office staff is horrendous - Cindy is similar to the wicked witch of Wizard of Oz ! Horribly deppressing and angry woman to come in contact with.Besides Dr. King making you wait an hour every appt without fail..., she seems to have no heart, no compassion, no soul even when you finally come in contact with her. She is very rigid, forceful, rude, and lacks all necessary skills to be a family practice md. My children even told me they are scared of her by the demeanor in which she deals with them !I was a patient only due to convience as it was located near me but I finally realized id rather drive 100 miles than deal with this heartless, cold woman.Ps. Tip for Dr. King ....You need a soul awakening, religion, fitness, volunteering , Love, something...anything... that can help redirect you to feel compassion, smile, and be a good human to live up to your gift that was given to you to be able to help and heal others as a family MD.Susan King May god have mercy on your soul when you meet someday.PPS.....Im not religious ...this is just how extremely bad my overall personal experience with her and this practice was with all my experiences !

First of all, I have been going to this doctor for almost 10 years. Through the years the staff has become more and more dismissive and rude. Everytime I go in and tell them my last name they can never find me, so I have to give my maiden name. They say they cant change that because when I registered I was under my maiden name. I use to be able to call and talk to someone and they handled everything right then. Just recently, before getting their automated phone system they would automatically place me on hold for 5-10 minutes. Right before my appointment on January 27, I was on hold for 10 minutes and all I needed to do was request an appointment. After 10 minutes, I hung up and called back and they tried to do the same again, but I told them that I was just on hold and I have to go back to work, they finally listened (after reaching my frustration point). When I went to the doctor on January 27th, I walked in and stood at the window for a few minutes, then someone said they would be right with me and to have a seat. I sat for about 5 minutes before another patient came in. They did the same to her. She didnt ask either one of us for our names. About 15 minutes later they finally said I could give them my information. When I went in to get weighed and measured, that lady wasnt very friendly either. I then went to my room and the doctor came in, seemed annoyed and asked me what I needed. She then talked down to her assistant and told her to go to the person who was here first. She then stepped out in the hallway with her and I heard Dr. King getting onto her, until she realized that I was first. When I told her that I wanted to try some new medication she went though my list and was like Well, you have been on a LOT of different ones She did not seem like she really cared about me or what I needed. She was just annoyed and wanted to rush me. She use to be friendly and supportive. I dont know whats gone on, but things have changed. She called me in a prescription for one month. When I had a few pills left, I called the office to let them know I liked it and to call in a prescription like Dr. King asked me to do. I called Feb. 22 and I got an automated machine, I pushed the number for the front desk, it said that the mailbox wasnt set up. I called the 23rd because my meds were out that day, same thing happened, I couldnt get ahold of the front desk, it wasnt set up, but I left a message for the other line (I think it was the assistant). She never called back, so on the 25th, I called and left another message and was urgent about it because I was out of my medicine and its dangerous to go cold turkey on a medicine that I need. My husband then got involved and left a message too. They never called back but went ahead an called a prescription in without a call or apology. Nothing. At that point I made an appointment with a new doctor that day and had a transfer of files moved over to a new doctor. It a serious problem when I cant get a hold of my doctor and need medication. There is no email address on her website or any other to contact other than phone, which didnt work right. Walgreens tried to get ahold of them too and they wouldnt respond. That is beyond ethical if you ask me. Patients are in need of medical treatment and they cant get it. I cant have a doctor that doesnt respond to me or I cant get ahold of. I also think that the tone in that office is negative, frustrated, and unfriendly. It use to not be that way. I dont know if men are treated any differently but from what I have heard and read, they are.
