While the staff is friendly, and the provider was on time for appointment (rare at this location), I am disappointed at the quality of care and how little information the NPs provide. You can get the same if not better information researching on your own, going to Peoples RX, or just seeing a smart doctor elsewhere. Dont expect to get any intelligent recommendations about which of the 3 vaccines might be better for you, they have no idea. My favorite provider left this practice, so Ill be looking into other options in the future. Furthermore if you need to communicate with this office, it is not easy. Leave a message and hope you dont miss their call when they call back.

Used to have way better experiences here. Now takes entirely too long to receive a call back and seems as if theres rarely any availability for the doctors to see you. Ive been coming here for as long as I can remember, but it seems the customer service has deteriorated as the years have passed. Once I actually get in touch with someone or am able to make an appointment, the office and doctors is fine. However, waiting well over 48 hours for a simple call back from the office that is supposed to be your Primary Care Physicians office just isnt going to work for me or my health.

-I’ve been here since Jan 2019, I believe (around there)-it’s a 3 day process to get anything done because the call wait times are horrendously long, if they even answer-the front desk staff is notoriously rude- I’ve been re-scheduled on 3 times-the chart in the room is not always mine-my doctor hasn’t documented correctly, had me on medications for about a year longer than necessary (switched to another dr in their office and she was astounded I’m not in Adrenal failure)-one of my prescriptions takes 10+ days of hassle to fill every time (controlled substance) and that is always bc of a clerical error, a “glitch” in their communication portal or just their slow response times-twice I’ve spent $150 for lab work that hasn’t been read only for me to discover that after medication dosing was made (the point of the labs being to determine how to dose)-there is a lack in communication on process- so for example, I’ll request a refill and they will say it requires an appt. No problem! But that would be helpful to know before I need to refill so I don’t have a delay. The only reason I’ve stayed is because I feel like I don’t have options. I have to constantly advocate for myself and it’s exhausting. I will be spending this week without my prescription because they have yet again made another mistake. At this point, I will be filing a complaint with the state of Texas for negligence. It makes me very sad to do this, and I’ve been honest with them more than once about feeling a responsibly to do that and mistakes continue to happen. I have several friends experiencing the same thing and this just can’t happen to people. It’s not safe. :(

They have good treatment protocols that help you heal by using a combination of meds, wholistic methods that work with strengthening your own body to heal and they have detailed testing that gives you specific information on how to treat. With that said. My last visit was a wellness visit. I had lab results that showed a high abnormal on one item. I asked for an adjustment to my dosage at the well check. The response from the NP was something like- you will need to make another appt. to discuss that. My well check took 10 minutes. She started to leave the room and we discussed why she would not treat the abnormal lab right there at the appt. we ended up talking in the hallway in front of everyone as she wanted to move on to her next patient. I found this to be very inappropriate altogether. She said because of insurance, she could not talk about anything to do with a “sick” treatment visit. I said what if it was a severe condition like high blood sugar. Would she still make me wait? Yes. Then I told her I wasn’t using insurance to pay. I was paying out of pocket. Made no difference. So I left that office. That’s not to say this practice is not good but some of there policies are rigid. I spoke with the office administrator about it but they were not helpful.I have recommended them to several people only because their overall philosophy and medical practice is good. My daughter goes to the one in Westlake and she like them there. My husband still goes. But the rigid office visits are not appropriate. She just needed to raise the dose on my existing prescription. Which she did after I fussed about it.

Not such a great experience, felt like since it was an end of day visit, we were rushed. Trying to establish a new pediatrician felt relieved when I finally got an appt but did not meet my expectations. Also, my kiddo had blood pressure taken, and first time complained that her arm hurt after the appt. Not sure if they are a good practice for kids, staff need to be friendlier.

Dr. Wiseman and the team at Wiseman Family Practice listened to me like no other doctor had in the past. As a result I was referred to the correct specialists and my life-long health conditions were finally properly diagnosed. Traditional medicine had thrown pharmaceutical remedies at symptoms instead of treating all my symptoms holistically. Now that I understand my body, I have never been healthier or happier. I am so grateful and am now a very loyal patient of Wiseman Family Practice.

Our whole family has been using Wiseman Family Practice as our primary physician for many years. We love the integrative approach and the personal attention they give. However, it seems lately they have taken on too many new patients so the established patients cant get the care they need. Last year, I had the flu and called to see if I could get an appointment that day. I was running 102 fever and really just needed a prescription for some cough medicine. They made me wait in my car for two hours before I could see anybody (even though they had told me to go ahead and come in). This is not the kind of care I find acceptable.

With the help of Selma I am able to control my arthritis with diet and natural supplements - with NO poisonous medication.. I have also reduced my thyroid medication. The clinic allows time for the doctors to see the their patients so you #1 dont feel rushed - you have time to actually talk with the doctor and #2 arent sitting in the waiting room forever. Their hours are great - including Saturdays and they take walk-ins. They communicate with you and you are a part of your care - you arent just dictated to. I feel like I matter to them and that they are truly concerned for my health.

This review is based on their behavior regarding covid. Several of the staff sitting in the open bull pin did not have their masks on. Their masks were pulled down below their chins. This was not in a private office, but in the area patients are required to wait in order check out. I found this alarming especially considering that this is a doctors office. This made me extremely uncomfortable. Had I known that they are not taking covid seriously, I would not have come in. I have generally had a positive experience with this office, although I do usually have to wait.

The doctors and PAs are great!!!! They prescribe both traditional medicines and nutritional supplements and/or food/lifestyle for your medical problems. That’s the only reason I stay at this practice which is now a 75 minute drive from my house. Because - the front office staff is inept, cold and unfriendly; and causes multiple errors and omissions; and the telephone hold time is RIDICULOUSLY LONG (over half an hour in many instances.) I have had MULTIPLE faxed-in bloodwork results LOST, or never given to the doctor or PA. I’ve been DOUBLE BILLED repeatedly for multiple office visits THAT WE PAID IN FULL CASH UPFRONT. I give the doctors and PAs and Triage Nurse 5 Stars and the office staff ZERO.

This is unacceptable I have autoimmune disease what is happening? I’m a mastered prepared nurse with 20 year experience to include currently practicing during this pandemic in the hospital where people are dying! Texas numbers are up and this is irresponsible!!! It’s this facility’s responsibility to tell patients this and give them the option of even coming! Wow! Unreal!Addendum: I was called while choosing to wait outside since they were not requiring their staff to wear masks and the young lady I believe to be the MA stated that the NP WOULDNT be wearing a mask that she would be behind me doing the procedure so she didnt need to wear a mask. I of course had an issue with this not only because their is a PANDEMIC but because its also a surgical procedure and sterile gloves and a mask are required. Selma NP raised her voice at me, was rude and condescending ... asking me if I even knew was a virus was. Im a patient as well as a nurse and I work in the hospital where there is a 60% in cases and we have practitioners being irresponsible and not even disclosing to patients that they are NOT requiring masks for their staff. I dont even have the words for her unprofessional conduct especially during a pandemic with patients who are fearful. THIS IS UNREAL!

Most of my family and extended family come here because of their holistic approach. I really like the physician assistants I have seen. My low review is due to the office staff and management, which is causing me to look elsewhere, which is a shame. I have had several instances where I was not treated professionally and it gets to point where enough is enough. As an example, today, I was 15 minutes late for my appointment, which was due to confusion on the actual appointment time. I understand that can cause problems, but I don’t appreciate being talked down to about it by the receptionist. These things happen, and I understand - considering the fact I have previously spent an hour and half past my appointment time waiting on them to even see me. Point is - even with quality care, you will lose your clients when the front staff speaks to people like they are beneath them. Basic customer service fundamentals. Your time is not more important than mine. You can’t be inconvenienced by 15 minutes, but you can waste 3 hours of my time and be rude about it on top of that?

I wish that everyone had access to a truly integrative medicine practice like Wiseman. This is the way medicine should be. Emphasis is on lifestyle choices that result in optimal health. The website makes available information to help with this. You really feel that you have access to alternative approaches when needed. The office is not only run very efficiently, but it is always easy to communicate with your provider via the patient portal and to access your lab results. I see one of the several physician assistants and always feel that I am in very capable hands. My annual checkups and other appointments are very thorough. In fact, my exams resulted in referrals for additional tests that other doctors had never even considered. I am always able to discuss concerns and to ask questions, knowing that my provider will be responsive. On occasion, I am given some flexibility to adjust my medication a bit to see if works for me. You are not just a number at this practice. Your provider recognizes that you and your body are unique and that one treatment is not necessarily appropriate for all. Simply put, I feel respected as a patient, and I myself have great respect for Wiseman Family Practice and their approach to medical care. I could not imagine not having them as a part of my medical team and consider myself to be very fortunate to be one of their patients.

Im giving them one star because the staff are not wearing masks during a pandemic. Dr. Wiseman is changing the game.A routine visit to the doctors office turns into a lesson about food, exercise, and a better understanding of what it really means to be healthy. This is not the take two and call me in the morning health care that I grew up with. The website is a tremendous resource for information about nutrition--there are articles and YouTube videos demonstrating the docs passion--and things I hadnt really considered like optimal Vitamin D intake and time in the sun.The experience overall feels like the future of primary care: finding the root causes of illness and addressing them with diet and lifestyle changes, rather than relying on drugs as the only solution. Also, they have a garden at the clinic which is just cool!

Review №54

Incredibly disappointing. I was excited to read the information on Wiseman’s website. It led me to believe this was a holistically-minded practice that wouldn’t shove a prescription at me within 5 minutes of entering an exam room and without knowing my medical history. I was not looking for a doctor to slap meds on any symptoms I or my children might have. They boast online that their primary goal is to address the root cause of disease and help their patients thrive with preventive healthcare therapies; lifestyle changes, energy therapies, manual therapies, supplemental therapies, and only finally and lastly pharmaceutical and surgical therapies.I was so exited to read this that I made appointments for both of my children. I do not carry insurance, so i paid in cash in full at the time of service.I made NEW PATIENT appointments for both of my children with the sole intent to establish them as patients. I did not make sick patient appointments. I waited over a month to have them seen. My expectation was that the practice would take a comprehensive health history, get to know my kids and any of the issues they have going on, ask questions about our diet, lifestyle, etc...and determine their overall wellness and make recommendations for improved wellbeing.Welp. That is not what happened. Before my daughter’s appointment, she got sick. So, when we arrived at the office, our need had changed since she was ill, but I did not call and alert the office because I still wanted them to treat us as an establish patient appointment. The nurse practitioner Audrey at the Cedar Park location seemed like she didn’t want to spend much time with us. She kept asking me “so, what are you here for TODAY?” when I began giving her a recent history of health problems my daughter had been having. She was uninterested when I talked about our diet. She didn’t ask any questions about the food my daughter eats. At one point I asked if I could grab some water from the hallway for my daughter to drink. Audrey audibly sighed, appeared annoyed that I was leaving the room, and said “sure” but that she would “be back” before getting up and leaving. It took me 15 seconds to get the water, and I ended up waiting 5-10 minutes for Audrey to come back. Her exasperation with me was clear at that point, so I stopped trying to give her information when she asked me AGAIN to pinpoint the symptom or issue I had come in for. Audrey immediately wrote me a prescription. When I asked her if there were any alternative therapies I could try she shrugged 🤷🏻‍♀️ And said if I wanted to I could call People’s Wellness Center (a totally different practice) and ask the naturopathic doctor there. She then told me I could look on their website for cold and flu therapies to use at home.... she did not discuss any of those therapies with me. She seemed ready to leave the room. When I went to pick up the prescription, the pharmacy said it wasn’t called in. I waited until the next day and went back and it still wasn’t there, so I called Wiseman to ask. They confirmed their records showed she sent the prescription in. I finally got the pharmacist herself involved, who told me the medicine I was looking for wasn’t even a RX, but an OTC med! Why didn’t this NP know she was “prescribing” an OTC med? What a disaster. My son’s appointment at the Westlake location was similar. The male NP was a nice guy, but again, didn’t establish my son as a patient. Didn’t ask about our diet. Didn’t ask about health history. Just prescribed antibiotics for my sons ear infections and sent us on our way.I paid $460 for a $10 prescription and an OTC med. This practice does not have in-depth health history records on either of my children, despite the fact that I spent $110 on “new patient fees”. They are in no position to help my family with preventive lifestyle therapies, because they don’t know what our lifestyle is.Wiseman Family Practice, you are falsely advertising a level of care that you are not delivering.Thoroughly disappointed and wish I could get my $460 back!

Then when you do schedule they tack on this random admin fee to your initial appointment beyond insurance. I respect all of our clinicians as I am in the medical and health field however, I do not believe in added fees. This leads me to believe that there would be more additional charges added to every service done in this practice. I love the fact that the practice offers chiropractic care along with all the other services and it’s a shame that due to the first interaction with this practice my family and I will not be seeing this group of providers. I recruit and hire doctors in the area and a lot of time they ask me for recommendations for their family providers. Honestly the $55.00 is affordable but it’s the principal that before I even meet the doctor and team I have to pay for an additional admin fee on top of my co-pay. I had to wait about 30 min, wearing just a gown in a cold room before seeing the nurse practitioner. She was supposed to make various referrals following our appointment but this never happened. I also registered my toddler to become a patient on a week they were taking on new patients. That was about 2 months ago and we are still waiting for the initial patient visit. Most recent mistakes was with regards to requiring lab test (blood) prior to an appointment, then at the appointment them using the wrong lab test, then they realize the mistake and immediately called me back in for another appointment. Have tried being a patient for over three years never once seen by physician (only PAs). Now in search of new family practice doctor and any suggestions are appreciated.

Misleading as far as availability to get an appointment. For anyone looking to start with them, be prepared for a 2 month lead time for an appointment for first time patients. If I havent found a more accommodating General Practitioner before this appointment then I will review on the merit of care. I feel a little disappointed based on all the positive reviews.TO BE CLEAR, this is not related to anything negative with regards for their care, bedside manner, knowledge or atmosphere. All I can say is I hope it lives up to all the build up from friends and family.

I cannot speak highly enough for this family practice. My family and I have been fortunate enough to have some fantastic doctors, but this group of medical professionals sets a new bar. Dr. Richard Wiseman works together with his son, Dr. Jeremy Wiseman, to bring a fresh approach of modern day science coupled with smart, time-proven diagnosis. When I go to them for insight on my ails, they look at my whole body and attempt to find the source of the problems, not just treat the symptoms. This is important to good health. I have never been pushed medication that I didnt want, or treated like I was another number in their day. I really enjoy that they offer holistic and natural treatments as an option and listen to me when I ask for options over modern medication. From their office staff, nurse practioners and the doctors, they have all exceeded what I used to expect from a family practice.

I was very excited to see doctor Wiseman. After they messed my first appointment. I had to wait another 3 weeks for another appointment. Finally, 6 weeks I see the doctor and rushes me out in 10 min. He didnt want to hear the issues I was having. It was my first visit so I was trying to give him a brief history, he had no time for any of that. He just wanted to pick one thing and focus on that. He cut me off several times and to focus on one thing. Almost to the point of rude. So so disappointed. Back to finding a patient kind doctor.

I have used Wiseman Family Practice for the last seven years. I like being able to stop in anytime I need. They take appointments of course, but who ever plans when they might get sick? Their staff is top notch, and every doctor or PA I have seen listens to my concerns without trying to rush me through the process. I like their new building. Parking is easy there as well. The waiting area is relaxed and comfortable.

I see the F.N.P. Linda Siebert, one of the best experiences Ive had with a high volume doctor office. Although wait times may be experienced (even to get your 1st visit) It is worth it, because the care is genuine and not rushed. She must treat each patient with this kind of attention! Very pleased, highly recommended.

Receptionists at location have treated me rudely and unprofessionally in the past. Placed on long holds by phone to make an appointment only to find out they are booked months in advance and either require me to drive to Westlake or Downtown instead of having openings at Cedar Park. I called to schedule a wellness exam and was told all they have at Cedar Park location are female doctors. I cant believe Wiseman would not diversify his doctor pool and provide male and female physicians. Will have to find new provider.

I have been coming to the Wiseman Drs since I was a teenager. You can always expect compassion from them, they always listen to what I have to say. Thank goodness I do not get sick very often, but when I am sick I know I will be taken care of when I go in. Also a plus having multiple locations since I am south!! Highly recommended!

Nearly 3 years with WFP. Great visits every single time. I go to Cedar Park, Central and in a couple of weeks is my first non over the phone visit to the Westlake office.Dr. Jeremy Wiseman is an excellent physician. He listens to you, he hears you and genuinely cares... thats rare to find in a doctor. Ive also seen Dr. Selma a few times. Shes very kind. The entire staff at all 3 locations are always kind, pleasant, attentive and most helpful.

If your interested in the weight loss program. Dont bother you have to wait a month and half to get in. Too many other places to go to in town. Family practices should not advertise weight loss if they cant accommodate patients.

Very disappointed. I was told to give blood in 6 weeks, and when I went to give blood there was no order so I used an old one. Now they want me to give blood and pay for the work again because of their mistake. Why wasnt blood order some the day of my visit? Avoid if you have anything more serious than a cold.

Ive have been a patient at Wiseman Family practice for 3 years now and have found the clinic to be well run. They are always kind and professional from the receptionists, to the nurses, the PAs and Dr. Wiseman. Oh, & insurance person too! I had been a patient of Downtown Doctor peviously which is run by Dr. Freeman. Dr. Freeman was rude to me, another patient and employees during my 3 visits there so I was so happy when a nurse at one of my other doctors offices recommended. Dr. Wiseman. I am a happy patient!

Doctors are nice, front office can be rude, and dont like the disconnect of the human element when trying to get an appointment. Made a mistake and put the wrong time on my calendar, so was not aware i missed the appointment when i showed up. Checked in at the tablet. Sat for 30 minutes. When I asked the front desk how long I would have to wait, she said we canceled your appointment a long time ago. Why have the tablet check in if no one is paying attention to the check ins? Since it takes 6 months to get an appointment, i will find another doctor.

I appreciate the philosophy at Wiseman Family Practice. The focus on preventative medicine though good eating aligns with my own beliefs and practices with food. The last time I went in for a cold I was first given a list of herbs, supplements and honey to try. Then I was given a prescription to fill if I wasnt feeling better in a couple of days. I didnt need the antibiotics and I was happier for it.

I chose this practice because I believe in a holistic approach to healthcare, as a lot of people may know most if not all functional/intergrative medicine practitioners do not accept insurance so I was thrilled when I found Dr. Wiseman in my network. When I was seen, in a timely fashion, I got the sense that the Dr was in a hurry, there were just brief questions about my history with very little eye contact, I guess I just expect more questions to be asked, diet and supplementation suggestions. I have nothing bad to say about the staff or the Dr for that matter, I guess I just expect more, the website content is awesome but the visit didnt seem to reflect the experience I was expecting.

Our entire family have been patients of Wiseman Family Practice for 27 years. Obviously, we have benefited from their care or we wouldnt have continued our relationship so long.My one serious complaint, though, is that they dont accept Medicare assignment. As a result, my co-payment is higher and I have to go through some additional hoops to get reimbursed. I hope they will reconsider this approach and begin accepting Medicare assignment.Last I checked, the lead-time to get a general physical exam was REALLY long. Hopefully, they are addressing an apparent staff shortage in order to close this gap.

Make note, if you are trying to establish yourself as a patient, you will be required to pay a $55 administrative fee that is not covered by insurance in addition to any co-pay for an initial visit. Just to get things started its likely that you will have to have two to three visits to get established.

OK, so lets separate out two things. The first is that the practitioners here are holistic, medically trained and utterly delightful. Your illnesses and problems will be addressed naturally. Now , the bad news...the front office staff. They are always absolutely abominable. Always. You just have to accept that, I guess...
