My hair was severely chemically botched causing half of the thickness and a lot of length to break off. Not to mention my scalp has never been the same and my hair continues to fall out in clumps. My Dermotologist confirmed the condition I have is due to chemical damage to my scalp and there’s no saying when my hair will stop falling out. My scalp is so sensitive now, it burns the moment I walk in the sun, and it frequently itches. This really has caused severe emotional distress since I also cannot style my hair like I used to and my look is totally different since I still can’t use much heat styling on it. I’ve spent close to $1,000+ since on hair treatments, new hair growth products and hair clips since my hair is so thin and short. I even pay hairstylists for blowouts because I can’t bear how much hair comes out in the shower. Tricho offered me a hair halo and Olaplex conditioning system and made it clear they didn’t want to hear from me anymore due to the short and stern responses on the phone. Unfortunately the fishing line on hair halo digs into my sensitive scalp and Olaplex made my hair come out even more. They have expressed very little empathy and put the blame on a previous hairstylist for the damage to my hair and “this was the tipping point.” I’ve always been reasonable about not over bleaching my hair and listening if a stylist says I should wait to have it highlighted. This has been such a nightmare and hearing from two other stylists, they cannot believe the amount of damage that was done to my hair. If your stylist says they are leaving to get Starbucks and leaves you under the dryer with bleach while leaving the building, speak up!My scalp was frying while I was under that dryer due to the heat and bleach. I will never get the scene out of my head when the stylist blow dried my hair and showed me a handful of my hair that had fallen out. My hair looked like spaghetti noodles all over my cape and needed to be cut to shoulder length which was devastating since I’ve always had long hair. I’m scared my hair will never be the same. It used to be so long and thick.And now I have PTSD from ever having my hair bleached again. Enough said. I don’t wish this upon anyone, make sure your stylist understands how long bleach should be left on your hair and keeps a strict timer on hand. Never expected this to happen at a salon like this.

I have had my hair done at Tricho for about ten years and I have been consistently impressed with the quality of work. Every cut or color has been exceptional. I’ve even had times where I wasn’t sure what I wanted but have gone with the recommendation of my stylist (Jessica Hawkins) and have been thrilled with the results! I feel confident recommending Tricho to all of my friends.I also think it’s worth noting that I’ve been impressed with the steps taken to ensure everyone’s comfort and safety during the pandemic. Somehow they’ve managed to still pull off a luxurious salon experience while keeping things distanced and safe for everyone.

I called on Monday and booked an appointment for 3 haircuts for Wednesday 1 pm. I was on hold and on the call with this girl for 30 mins. Wednesday on my way to the salon when I called them they said I’m on on file and they have no appointments for me at all. When I expressed to a lady today that I booked and we were on our way she abruptly answered and hung up on me without trying to fix it for us or re booking us. I will never go to this salon. They lack professionalism.

I want to give a huge shout out to Will. He did a phenomenal job on my haircut and was really good about working around the mask I was wearing. I havent had a haircut since last 2019 due to the pandemic, and he made me feel supremely comfortable about the process and gave me one of the best haircuts Ive ever had. He also taught me about using different products I had recently bought to better style my hair. Overall I couldnt be happier, and hell have a customer in me as long as hes cutting hair.

I’ve been going to Tricho for more than 5 years. Their stylists are excellent at what they do. I have recommended several friends to try Tricho and they quickly become regulars. If you are looking to make a change and need your hair cut, colored or any other service, I have no doubt they will take great care of you.

Stephanie did an amazing job with my color yesterday.. my hair is super dark and have a lot of it so it’s always a challenge. she was super patient and took her time to get it right. Place was super clean and fab. Her blow dry skills are also very on point!! Love the look I left with. Will def go back to her.

Showed stylist a hair style, she completely missed the mark. Throughout the haircut kept mentioning how it was just like the picture and how It looked so good. will never go again.

Came in to purchase travel size products. When purchasing items at $13 each and the total wasn’t the correct amount, I asked the attendant if that was correct. She told me the price of each and realized the error. However, another attendant had the same issue. A manager was brought out. I stood for several minutes while others worked to figure out the issue. I eventually walked away paying the correct amount with out a thank you or an apology.

I decided to book a lash appointment based on a recommendation from a friend. Because these appointments take 2-3 hours I was unable to work that day and had to block a significant amount of time out for this appointment. Upon arriving I was made aware that a deposit is necessary for this service (which I would have happily paid) but because they never told me when I made the appointment and they didnt correctly record my call back number my appointment was canceled. Such a waste of my time!

MJ did a great job on my haircut! The lady on the phone was a little rude when making the appt but once I got there the front desk girl was SO NICE!! Will def be coming back to see MJ again!

Ive been going to Jessica for years for highlights and keep coming back to her because she does a fantastic job and is super friendly. I trust her implicately with my hair so when I said I wanted to try something new and she suggested becoming a redhead, I was very excited to give it a shot. She picked the absolute perfect shade for my complexion, I honeslty will probably never go back to being blond. She did such a great job (as usual), I love it!!

No woman should walk into this establishment. TAKE YOUR PRECIOUS HAIR SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!! You can refund $300 but it will not fix the stress from a mediocre haircut from some new chick with absolutely no experience who has no idea what shes doing

I typically dont write bad reviews for businesses but any people of color should avoid this place. If you look at the other reviews theres a common pattern that this salon cancels appointments of people that have foreign names.In 2019 I had an appointment to color my hair before I went on vacation and they called me and canceled my appointment 10 minutes before my appointment because I was late to my appointment.In March 2020 I tried the Salon again and requested a hairstylist to do an up-do for a wedding that I was going to attend later that day. The stylist ruined my hair and said she had another client after me and I had to fix my hair by myself.This past weekend I had another wedding that I had to attend and decided to give the salon one last try (should have never). The receptionist called me at 10:15am to inform me that they need to push back my 12pm appointment to 12:15pm because there was an emergency. I agreed and said that is fine. As I was driving to the appointment at 12pm the receptionist called me and said she had to cancel my appointment. I explained to the receptionist that I am in an urgent situation and I have a wedding to attend in 2 hours I am only getting a blow out. she repeatedly told me that she had to cancel it. They dealt with the whole situation horribly.My friend who was also doing her hair at the salon heard the receptionist tell other receptionist to not answer the phone that they put me on hold on. I told them I would like to speak with the manager and kept insisting on an appointment until they were able to fit me in at 1pm with a different stylist.Today I called the manger Pam and she was as rude as the rest of her staff. JUST AVOID THE SALON! Go to Avisa if you want good customer service with good quality jobs. My hairstylist that I never had a problem with quit in 2019 because she didnt want to work with people with such bad customer service.

Visited Tricho for the first time recently - had never been to a salon before. MJ was very professional and answered all the questions I had, and offered great advice on hair care. The salon is also following COVID distancing protocol very well - I was not near any other customers during the entire visit. Would recommend!

So impressed with the quality of service at Tricho. My husband and I have experienced a few of their stylists and the professionalism and skill is unmatched. I alway leave absolutely in love with my hair (Jessica Hawkins is the blonde expert!), but also as a long term dyed blonde my hair has never been healthier!

I went to this salon today in hopes to get my hair fixed after getting a haircut I wasnt happy with at another salon. Nikki talked through what was possible with the photos I shared with her at the beginning of my appointment. She was realistic of what was possible and talked me through what I would be comfortable with as well as what would look good. She also evaluated my hair since my hair thick towards the bottom of my head. Im definitely coming back for my next haircut.If theres more than one Nikki, shes Asian Nikki with cute tattoos.Thanks Nikki!

Setting up an appointment was nice and the girl up at the counter was very sweet; however, when i went up to the counter and asked about my appointment that was scheduled at 4:15 and I got told to come back at 4:45 because she was running late. I came back at the time that I was toldand come to find out she was with a client. I was very upset because I didn’t get a call or anything about my appointment when she was done or not, I also didn’t have time to schedule another appointment anytime soon.

Catie is an absolute godsend for waxing, facials or massages. I have lived in New York, Chicago and Boston and she is the best. During a massage, I am literally transported to heaven. For a facial, she is extremely thorough but still relaxing. As for waxing, I will never go elsewhere -- efficient, gentle, kind. ❤

This was the best place Ive ever gotten my hair done in my life! Im never going anywhere else, even if I move. I called the salon at around 9:40 am for a first time bayalage and a hair cut for as soon as they could get me in, and they were able to get me in at 10:45 that morning! My stylists name is Charlie. I was very vague on what I wanted, but she sat down with me and patiently pulled up different colors and cuts to understand what I wanted. She went above and beyond what any stylist has ever done for me, and truly cared about my hair and making me happy. She even went and got me Starbucks while my hair was under the dryer! She is one the sweetest people Ive ever met. My hair turned out PERFECT and it was EXACTLY what I had envisioned. She also offers her clients free bang trimmings! I highly recommend her!! Also remember to bring cash for a tip because you wont be able to tip with your card.

Stephanie N. is working magic with my hair and coloring after I moved into the area and left my old stylist behind. Shes super friendly and listens to what you want to do with your hair and gives her professional advice to make it happen. Im very impressed!

This is the most unprofessional salon I have seen in my time. I have all but frequented this salon 2-3 times. They mix up names and appointments. They canceled my appointment themselves today; I had been waiting for 3 months for this appointment with the Pandemic.The manager Pam is really rude and tells me that they have 5 identical names (my name) with different phone numbers and has no way of telling who is who.The hairstylist Kristen (dont know how her name is spelled) claims I had multiple no shows (I apparently texted her) ???. I have seen her face all of 2 -3 times. I am sure one of my multiple personalities existing in their systems must have had a no-show. One time she offered to show me a sample of her hair cut and it took me 3 months to out grow the bad cut. Phew.Today when I called the salon and my appointment had been canceled by them, they claim that they need a deposit from me for a July 22 date. What kind of a business do they think they are running?

Had a great experience tonight. They were able to get me in 1.5 hours before closing which I greatly appreciated. Very cool place inside and the stylist was great. Cant remember her name, its been a long day, but she did a great job as she was very attentive, making sure I liked what she did. Would go back again if Im in the area! Great job!

I went to this place about a month or so ago. I asked for an ombré and I even showed the guy a picture and in the middle of the process of my OMBRÉ, he said something about how cute my balayage was going to be at the end of the process. I was kind of concerned and I understand that my hair is dark brown and it takes a couple processes to make it a lighter color. But he gave me something completely different than what I wanted. I paid $300 for a balayage when I asked for an ombré. Very upset.

I have been getting hair cut by Amanda for 7 years. She is great. All the staff really is professional and well versed in products and varying styles.

Lovely, bright environment and great service by Stephanie. I like that this location is in a mall with plenty of parking. It is also at an entrance to the mall so it is easy to get in and out without having to get through a mall and there is lots of natural light. The salon has nice clean bathrooms so you dont have to spend time finding one inside the mall. Nice decor. I am sure I will be back here

My daughter and I had free/model cuts here. I’m so happy with both of our cuts. Mine is straight, thick and shoulder-length, hers is curly/dry and shoulder-length. I would definitely recommend this place and our stylist. Great service, friendly and modern atmosphere.

I love this salon. Ive been going here for a few years now and Jessica is awesome. Shes taken me from long hair to a pixie and back to long again. Awesome cuts and color services. I also used Tricho for hair and makeup for my wedding party, as well as getting my nails done. It was easy to book, competitive pricing, and I couldnt have been happier with the results. All of my bridesmaids, my mom, and my mother in law were pleased too. Make sure to bring cash for a tip if youre using a credit card, they dont let you add it on unless its a debit card.

I dont often do things for myself, but I made an appointment for a facial (Ive never had one before) and a haircut before my upcoming wedding. I checked in five minutes early for my facial appointment. The lady at the front told me theyd be with me shortly and to have a seat. I waited for a half an hour on the couch.Im pretty timid and dont like to make a big deal, but finally I asked the woman at the front how much longer she thought Id have to wait. She scrambled and ran to get the facialist. She came out, did not introduce herself to me and angrily marched me into the back where she explained that since I was a half hour late they would have to move other appointments. I explained that I was not late at all and that I actually just waited for a half hour after checking in. It seems the woman at the front never let any one know I was here and then instead of being apologetic, lied and said I came in late.I never really got an apology and everyone treated me like they were in a major rush and it was all my fault. I left feeling anxious, and in tears. I tipped everyone 20% (I dont know whats wrong with me because honestly the service was terrible, its hard to break certain habits). I understand people make mistakes and was not mad at all about having to wait, it was the rude, unapologetic, and shady manner in which it was handled that ruined my whole experience. I will never be back.

The wait to be seen was unreasonably long - we had an appointment, and none of the staff communicated what the delay was until I went to the front counter to ask. The haircuts my sons received were top notch, though. The staff treated both of my kids professionally, and respected their requests about what the styles should look like.With better client/staff communication at the desk, Id give it five stars.

My sister came and got a haircut and bought a product that the hairstylist prompted. She accidentally left it at the counter and called a couple days later. The receptionist was incredibly rude over the phone and was insinuating that we were trying to get something for free. We just recently went back and there was no apology for the rude customer service and the receptionist that I talked to said he would look into it. I waited while my sister got her hair cut and he did not approach me again and saw us when we were checking out and didn’t bother to approach us with his findings. I had to reproach him and ask him what he found out which he just passed off with a 20% off our next product purchase. I’ve worked in customer service for 20 years and I was really disappointed with how they handled their customers. It was a really unfortunate visit. I would’ve been fine if he would’ve come over with his finding. Apologized, and tell him his policies and what he was able to do or even asked a manager to come over.

Charlie at Tricho did my hair for my wedding and she did an amazing job! She was able to take my vision and turn it into a reality. I used HaloCouture hair extensions on my day of and Charlie was so knowledgable on how to make sure they stayed in tact while ensuring no one could even tell I had anything on.If you need your hair done for your wedding, she is the one to use! She even helped my mom on the day of the wedding figure out what hairstyle to do and was patient with her as she changed it up a few times to accommodate what my mom wanted. Charlie is such a delight and so talented. Cant say enough good things about her and her talent for doing hair!

Miranda always does an excellent job with my manicure whether it is shellac gel or regular long-lasting nail polish. My nails are always shaped how I want them and the polish stays on for so much longer than other places around this area. The service is excellent and I always am offered beverages when I check in. I’m also treated as a friend instead of rushed in and out. I will always recommend and continue to come back! (Pictures show my last 3 shellac manicures done by Miranda!)

Tried to charge my daughter $280 for a color and cut in tone today. She went a few months back and it was 180 for everything. Needless to say they got $240 from me today but we wont be back.

Special Kudos to Armando for an awesome experience. We started with a consultation about the difference between a keratin treatment or a Brazilian blowout. I had been afraid before to try either but after consulting I choose the Brazilian blowout.I have to say there was nothing scary about it. Armando was very experienced and does several B.Bs a week. The results were beyond my expectations. I never thought sleek would be a word to describe my coarse frizzy hair but it is now. My hair cut was perfect as well.The salon is bright, clean and offers massage, facials and manicures etc. Reception was friendly, I was offered hot drinks or water. They had many products also.

Tricho has something special. I cant begin to describe the level of exceptional customer service that has been extended to me time after time, not to mention the phenomenal skill level of their stylists and technicians. I personally recommend Angela for mens cuts. She does amazing clipper and scissor work, all while making you feel welcome, relaxed, and beautiful. Dont go anywhere else!

I used to see Chris at Salon Vox downtown for years, and after he moved to Tricho I followed. I dont regret the decision one bit - Chris is incredible as a stylist. Hes friendly, versatile, open to suggestions, and has a keen sense of intuition when it comes to trying out new styles for a customer. Ive yet to walk away disappointed from a haircut from him. As a bonus Tricho always has plenty of availabilities which works well with my constantly changing schedule.Some other reviews mention poor desk service, but I havent experienced any myself. The darker lady with curly black hair in particular is very friendly and easy to talk to. There was one time where I had set an appointment but later missed a call that my stylist would be out of town, so when I showed up at my appointment she efficiently worked with me and got me a backup stylist (Tiffany I believe) within minutes. Tiffany was curt but very professional and skilled, and I was ecstatic at the cut. Looked much better than what I was expecting. All in all wonderful service and skilled stylists.

This is a double review. The fact that I hate spending the time getting upset over a business and their actions or lack of them just infuriates me more.I have been a client of Tricho for a better part of 20 years and my Daughter for the last 7and can pretty much count on one hand how many times we have received a haircut elsewhere. That being said we will no longer be and will find a different salon and here is why.1. I went to set a appointment today and was told because I had missed some appointments I would have to pre-pay. I dont think so. I have missed appointments but for any one I had missed they have canceled on me at least as much. When they cancel its “ sorry would you like to reschedule “. Well NO! I wouldn’t. I as well have a schedule and didn’t ask them to pay for my time.2. I was at the mall with my daughter and she needed to use the restroom. We were by Tricho and I told her to run in and use theirs. It was close and she need a restroom right away.The women at the counter was rude and told her that the restrooms weren’t for public use.Well, I have spent literally thousands of dollars in that salon. I understand the no public restroom but not the NO patron of my business policy. So its ok to use the restroom when I am paying but not in a emergency bathroom need.This review really isn’t directed towards the stylist but the business.They really need to realize there not really all that special of a salon . I like my stylist but can and will find another.The End

Ive been going to Trichos for years now. Its upscale and comfortable yet the prices are fairly reasonable (not Fantastic Sam prices, tho). Its very large so you can find someone who styles your hair to your liking by trying out a few different stylists before making a decision. They do everything from cutting to coloring to making hair pieces to manicures. Highly recommend. In Briarwood Mall but facing the parking lot so you dont have to enter the mall proper.

I went in for a manicure and pedicure and was happy to find that the prices were reasonable for how nice, clean, and relaxing the environment was. Cassidy did my nails and she was awesome! She will be my go to person 😃 she was super patient and always made sure everything was exactly how I wanted it. She was also really nice to talk to. The whole place was really nice. Relaxing and friendly! Lots of great services too, I felt like I could have gotten everything I could have ever needed to get done there.

I had a massage today from Katie and it was one of the best massages I have had. I have been to many places in the Ann Arbor area for massages, but todays experience far exceeded the others. She was very thorough, and I would definitely recommend her to anyone searching for a wonderful and relaxing experience.

Do not get your nails done here!! i was SUPPOSED to go to signature nails. but they tricked me into thinking i was getting my nails done there. i spent $65 on a full set w cheap glitter that i could’ve got done for $26 at a little strip mall salon. it’s been 3 days and one of my nails already is broke and bleeding !! i will be going to get my nails redone w signature, where i was supposed to go the first time.UPDATE: another 3 days gone by and another easy snap! broke ANOTHER nail while doing my hair. that’s 2 nails broken within less than a week. this has never happened to me the 5 years i’ve been getting acrylics. i went to signature nails and they repainted my nails beautifully!

I drive an hour for this salon. The receptionist are always friendly and accommodating. Premium selection of hair care products. I think they just brought in cosmetics! Ask for stylist Ryan. He is truly gifted at what he does and provides honest feedback that you will sincerely appreciate.

I went to Tricho a few days ago and they were very rude. The lady wouldn’t even touch my hair. He name was Gabbie. She made me feel bad about myself. She put me down in front of everyone, and mad me feel bad. Gabbie should be fired... she was very rude.

I was extremely disappointed with my experience here. The staff was rude and it really felt like they were just trying to see as many people as possible in a day. There was no focus on the client. Overall, I would say they have horrible customer service and my haircut was not what I asked for at all. Definitely will not be back here again!

This is the only place I trust to do my hair everytime. I would recommend going to Kevin as I can always trust him to tell me when something may not flatter my face shape or color. Low price for the quality.

Lindita is the greatest! I have been going to her for years and she is always so caring, respectful and talented. Whenever I come in with a difficult request for me hair (ie turning my Asian hair into a silvery brown) she really does her research and spends the time to do it right. I LOVE her work. Due to circumstances out of my control I had to can my last 2 appointments. Ive been coming to this salon for years! Today I called and was told my account was now flagged and I had to pay ahead?! Tasteless. Yes, I canceled. I was not a no show ever. I love the stylists at the salon, management not so much.

The atmosphere is upscale and gleaming. Most of the people who work there are great, and everyone is friendly and helpful. The prices are not unusually high. If you arent trying to book any particular person, it is easy to get service at short notice.

Love this place and my stylist Lindsay Clark, shes simply the BEST! We went from red to gray to blonde with no damaging of the hair at all!! And I have the healthiest hair I have ever had following her suggestions! Ive been coming to her for YEARS and send anyone I know to see her. She listens to your wants and creates magic from there. I saw Jamaica for my first time going there and i had an amazing experience ! Shes a fun easy going stylist who listened to everything i had asked of her, she gave helpful feedback on what would look best for my hair and better yet, she went slowly and took off hair little by little to ensure i was happy with everything i had done, and i have never had a better experience getting my hair done!
