Perfect place for basic nail patterns! Staff were super patient and careful. Unlike some other (nail) salons, this salon takes appointments seriously - they don’t take walk-ins, so you won’t have to wait one single minute if you have an appointment. (They allow same-day appointment tho, as long as there’re remaining slots.) I used to go to other nail salons for more complicated nail designs, but I love the service here so much that I decide to switch to this salon and do simple-but-still-super-cute nails next time.

I walked in thinking this was going to be a good expiernce.. but first of all I was waiting quite awhile because my stylist was late (I can forgive that) but, I came in with rosy red hair, asking to go bright ginger. They did a Malibu rinse, a bleach bath all these things I was there for over four hours. She used two toners on me and left them on for a very long time.. spins me around in the chair and my hair is dark brown.:O I was mortified. She then asked if I wanted my hair styled I said yes curled. She failed to even do that. I told them I was unhappy with my hair, and they did nothing. I let it go thinking maybe it would just wash out and lighten a little. I came back a week later upset telling my stylist how upset I was about the situation. And there was no conclusion. I no have straw like, deep brown hair with about 7 different colors going on. (I look like a multi colored cat!) haha. So I think I’m doing my hair at home again 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

Got my hair cut and colored a few months ago. Emily was great she listened to what I wanted and did exactly that. I went back last week for my root touch up - she read my mind about what I want for my next color appointment. I am new to the area and loved my hairdresser where I lived previously. I have baby fine hair and not everyone knows how to deal with it. Lindsey did a terrific job highlighting and cutting my chin length bob. Everyone was very friendly. The salon is attractive and comfortable. I will definitely be going back.

I think basically its not a great place for Asian to have hair cut. I just want have my hair cut slightly shorter but I got a totally different hair style now. At first, two sides are cut by a malfunctioning clipper, which caught my hair frequently. It literally removes my hair as a whole. And then for the front and top, my original hair style was gone and now all my hair is standing tall like trees. The lady simply cut every batch into same length and from my humble opinion not that skilled. But the service is good generally, so 4 star service.

I just love Avissa salon/spa and all of those who work to make clients feel their absolute best. It is a high end professional experience with the Hollywood Style treatment.

I have been going here for over a year now, and I love it. Never had a negative experience, and my husband recently started getting his hair cut here as well and loves it. They always take the time necessary to make sure you are satisfied. Kristin does a superb job with color and cut. Only been here for hair though, so cannot comment as to other services. But have done color, highlights, Brazilian Blowout, and got great results with all.

I went to the salon about 1 month ago to get eyelash extensions. The girl that did them was awesome, super professional, nice and the eyelashes looked amazing! but the reason I cannot give it 5 stars is the price and checkout process. The site states $150 for classic extensions and that is what I received but ended up getting charged $250! She said their website is not up to date with pricing and they don’t really do extensions anymore or something? She ended up charging $200 after I said what the website said, which I appreciated but still... not good service AT ALL to charge more than advertised and if your pricing has changed please update your site!!!!

I have gotten a Brazilian wax and a pedicure here, and both services were excellent. It was my first time getting a Brazilian wax and I was made to feel very comfortable and she did a good job.I had a shellac pedicure, again for the first time. She was very knowledgeable about the process, and explained every step. She was also very funny and we had a great conversation.The salon is very clean and has a pleasant ambiance. I definitely would recommend it!

Went last week for Brazilian Blowout (I have 3b or 3c curls). I have had similar treatments at another salon in the area and this beats it in everyway: comfort (stylist provided eye and mask protection during styling); price (so much cheaper); and time (one visit as opposed to 2). She even gave me a little gift. I live in the neighborhood and I am so happy to have found a neighborhood salon. Style looks amazing straight and wavy.

This is a great salon in a good spot -- with free and generally ample parking -- on the north side of town. I love that Avissa is a family business. Late last winter I went in for a service and discovered that the mom had these great chunky knit winter headbands for sale for only $15! I thought it was a steal. Ive only had a couple of nail and spa services but all have been very good. I will continue to return.Full disclosure -- the salon offered me a $10 gift card for leaving them a review on Google+. But I would have said nice stuff about them anyway.

This place is excellent. Im new to the area and I was in need of a hair cut. Not knowing where to go I decided to search on google maps for hair salons. After looking at a few places I noticed Avissa had lots of good reviews. So, I decided to go there.Everyone was very nice and polite. The place was easy to find and it was very clean inside. All the reviews I read were spot on. This place is great.I didnt know who to ask for, instead I asked for a stylist that was good with men, specifically a man with longer hair. The receptionist set me up with an appointment with Kristin. She was awesome to say the least. She was very knowledgeable about hair styles for men with longer hair and threw out a few suggestions for me. Like most guys Im not too particular about my hair, so I left it in her hands and she did an amazing job. I will most definitely be going back and will recommend it, and her, to anyone looking for good hair cut.

I am blown away by the professional, knowledgeable, and just amazing staff at Avissa. Kristin is one of most fantastic stylists Ive had the pleasure of encountering. I will not go any where else again.I called on New Years Eve to see if Avissa may have had a cancellation on one of the busiest salon days of the year, I was told there was an early appointment that I was going to have trouble getting to on time but I took it anyways. About 5 minutes later I got a call saying Kristin (by far my favorite stylist there and one of the top stylists I have had a chance to be worked on by ever) would stay late and get me in. Awesome! Get to the salon early and was greeted by name and asked if I would like anything while I waited. Asked for water and actually was given a small bottle (which is awesome because you dont have to feel awkward trying to find a place to put it while someone is working on you, just close it and sit it in the chair with you) and the wait wasnt long. Kristin remembered me, and asked what we were doing. I gave her creative license and was not disappointed. She styled my hair in a very elegant but awesome way and educated me when I asked. Seriously I am never disappointed...Kristin is amazing.-On a side note: Ive also had a pedicure at Avissa by Kristin and was VERY pleased.-Also had an eyebrow wax done and was also amazing. I forgot who did it thou**Update 6/18/14 Saw Kristin again for a color service and was again blown away by the creativity and knowledge she has. Amazing!

I got my hair highlighted for the first time at Avissa. The stylist was super helpful, and very attentive to my concerns about the color and how highlights would look. She mixed just the right color for me and Im super pleased. The haircut itself was great too :) Ill be going back!

I used a Groupon for a cut and partial highlights with Jennifer earlier this fall. She was great! She took time to talk to me about the color I wanted, compare swatches, and added extra highlights to make sure they looked good with my existing hair color. She did a great job with the cut as well--her layers werent too choppy and were well blended. She was fantastic to talk to as well! Highly recommend.

0 stars!!! After months of going here I’m still trying to let my hair grow out correctly. The lady who cut my hair from here told me she was the manager and she messed up my hair so bad. She does not know how to cut thick hair obviously. I told her I want to be able to put it up still and til this day I can still not put it up with a hair tie! My hair is uneven all around. She chopped off my hair unevenly all around and it sticks out on both sides and there’s nothing I can do about it until it grows!!! I went there for the first time around November 2018. I just want my hair to grow so badly but it won’t!!! I hate that I went here and I hate that that lady screwed up my hair. There is literally a line in the back of my hair that is uneven and it’s almost as if she was trying to do a bob cut on me.

Ive never wrote review on googles but Im gonna write one for Avissa. I just had a haircut there and Im VERY happy about their service and skill. My stylist Peyton was kind, funny and professional. My hair was fuzzy and hard to comb but she made it smooth and soft. The length is perfect too and I also like it goes to one side like never before. Ill definitely visit there next time.

Avissa Salon donated charity time to Mothers of sick children at Motts Childrens Hospital. I was one of the lucky ones chosen for this fabulous day. Jennifer did my hair and I was very happy with her service. The salon was very clean and the staff was friendly. My overall experience was fantastic and I would recommend them. I am always nervous about trying a new salon or stylist - I have been incredibly happy with Avissa!! My stylist is very knowledgeable and current on the latest in hair (cut, color, etc.) and put me right at ease. The salon is in a good location on the NE side and the hours and parking are convenient. There are many offerings at the salon including wearables, manicures, blowouts, fantastic hair products, etc. and I will be going back again and again!

I got a shellac manicure with the new customer discount, making it only $25! I had a great experience with Kristin. She helped me choose appropriate color combinations and gave me tips to keep my skin and nails healthy. I plan on going back to Avissa for free removal of my shellac once it grows out and will definitely be back for another manicure in the future!

WORST haircut I have ever gotten. I went there over a year ago, and it is STILL growing out.I got a simple trim and face frame, requesting that the face frame begin a few inches below my chin. She was unable to get both sides of the face frame even, and continued to take it shorter and shorter trying, not once, but 7 times, after I held up pieces showing her there were INCHES of difference between each side. The face frame ended up starting at my nose and wrapped about halfway around my head. I looked in the mirror when I got home and sobbed. The next day I went and paid over $200 for hair extensions in the front, and still to this day have them because it was THAT BAD. Overall Ive paid about a $1000 total in hair care from a real professional salon just in maintenance waiting for my hair to grow in so it can be cut properly.NEVER GO HERE. IT IS NOT WORTH THE COUPON.

I got a shellac gel manicure done here not too long ago. I absolutely loved the service and the young woman who worked on me was incredible personable and friendly! Unlike salons where you feel like you are burdening the staff, Avissa makes you feel welcome and excited to be there. I definitely will keep coming!

Jennifer is the only person I trust with my hair. It makes a huge difference when you can tell someone exactly what you want and they give you their honest opinion and then give you exactly the cut you want. She is also the only person who can cut my kids hair (ages 15 to 1) and the kids never complain. She is the best!!

I went in for a cut by one of the best stylists in Ann Arbor and while I waited the owner and his girlfriend sat sprawled on the waiting sofa while I stood there for 20 min. I thought he was just some rude guy waiting for a customer or a stylists but hen he got up and went behind the register where I found out he was the OWNER! He was rude to his stylists while I was there and rude to customers. I continued to go there because this stylist is just that good - but now she left as have others, so I never have to go back there again. I don not think the owners understand the the reviews are for the stylists not them, so they have earned this from me.

The salon is wonderful...very clean, very professional. Lots of new and exciting things to try with your hair. My daughter, Krystle Stasik, said she wanted to try something new and she now has wonderful mixed colors in her hair and LOVES it.

Just got my first haircut at August Salon (the signs are a little confusing for the shopping center, a few seem to call it Michaels Salon.) and I think I found my barber at Umich for the next three years. Very nice hairdressers, good haircut, nice environment and well bluntly for men, nice price (was only 15$) and was able to come in and get back to north campus within 45 minutes.

I absolutely LOVE Avissa! I started going here to get my nails done by Tae and then started getting my hair done too. I go about every two weeks and the staff is so nice and helpful. I would never go to another salon unless I moved.

I have gone there a few times for waxing services and recommend it to everyone. Shu-Shu is amazing and so sweet. She also knows a lot about what she is doing on top of making you feel extremely comfortable. I will definitely go back there again. I have yet to get a hair cut or dye job, but if you need a wax, this place is where to go.

And the best part is that my hair has remained manageable, and not turned into a disaster requiring a follow up very soon.

I had a similar experience. Went with a coupon, was verified and than charged an extra 150$ more than the 79$ coupon without asking. Everything seemed normal, I didnt notice superman come and cut and color my hair, nothing out of the ordinary and yet, still 230+ dollars.

Wonderful salon with really awesome and friendly staff. I go for only eyebrows, at this point, but will definitely look to this salon for nails once I decide to get them done. In any event, Kimya (I probably spelled that wrong) is the best kept secret for eyebrows in Ann Arbor. I have thick eyebrows that few seem to be able to shape properly while keeping them full, but Kimya gets it right every time, hands down. There is also another woman there (I think, who is older?), but does a great job on eyebrows as well, and takes her time to get them right. Finally, gentleman at front desk is very nice and makes patrons feel welcomed from start to finish.Ive been to dozens of salons (for eyebrow waxes and threading) between Boston and New York, and Avissa is by far one of the best- check them out if you havent already, especially for eyebrows!

Not a good experience. Overpriced for a brief shampoo/haircut in my opinion. The stylist was hasty and seemed uninterested in what she was doing.

Have been at this place since it opened and its always fabulous. Kimai is the BEST! She does my hair, nails (shellac)/toes, and waxing. Hands down she does the best shellac in town. Ive learned the hard way that many havent been properly trained. Also, Shohreh gives the best facials! A day after receiving a facial from her, a woman at Real Seafood stopped to ask me how Im able to GLOW. Lastly, Shohreh does threading, which for some odd reason is hard to find in town. I could go on and on....give them a try. Trust me, you wont regret doing so!

I noticed that the salon provides other services more, mainly face. Own parking and prices are according to the place. Highly recommend.
