I was told several years ago to delay my shoulder replacement because of the incredible pain and discomfort. I researched and was referred to Dr. Mighell for the surgery. After talking to him and his team, I was convinced that he was my surgeon. Well, he exceeded my expectations. His nurse Rita followed up daily after the surgery. I never really had pain that Tylenol would not relieve.. I was in rehab weeks ahead of schedule. The rehab team said I broke a record in my rapid recovery. I had shoulder replacement surgery with Dr Mighell. He used an innovative muscle sparing procedure. The physical therapist was amazed when I showed up only 3 weeks post-op and could do so many exercises with relative ease. Recovery was fast. Dr. Mighell is a extremely skilled double board certified surgeon who treated me for a detached tricep tendon of my left arm. Dr. Mighell was patient , informative and compassionate doctor who took the time to answer all of my questions as well as my wife’s at our Pre-Operative office visit. I felt very comfortable with Dr. Michell’s surgical recommendation that I scheduled my surgery within four days .My post operative medical treatment by Dr. Mighell and his dedicated medical team was Awesome! I have had rotator cuff surgery on my right arm a few years ago in another state. I really dreaded having the same surgery on my left arm. I had 3 doctor opinions. I immediately felt that Dr. Mighell would be the best. I had my surgery August 2020 and I couldnt be more pleased. I stayed on the circulating ice machine and I only took the pain pills for 2-3 days. I was walking on the beach day 3 for several miles each day. I will tell you I was pleasant surprised at how well my surgery went and the lack of pain. I was truly anticipating 6 weeks of H***. I am now 8 months out and I feel great - I am at probably 95% . I takes a full 12 months to get to 100% but I am very pleased. He has always been very friendly, answers all questions I have with each of my follow-ups. The best is I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes for my appointment. I highly recommend Dr. Mighell.

I suffered for many years from a painful elbow joint related to rheumatoid arthritis that limited my use of that arm. When I researched best orthopaedic surgeons with elbow specialty, I found Dr. Mighell. My elbow joint replacement surgery went very well, and my outcome is better than I ever expected. I finally have function and no pain. Thank God for Dr. Mighell and his expertise and care. I highly recommend him and the Florida Orthopaedic Institute.

When I make an appointment an hour away from my house to see a specific doctor, it would be nice if I actually saw THAT doctor, not one of his colleagues. (I did get to see Mighell for about 1:30-2 minutes at the end of my appointment when I explicitly asked “am I going to see the doctor I made an appointment with or not?” The servicing doctor responded “yeah we can get him in here to say “hi.” The whole experience at Florida orthopedic institute in Tampa was an unpleasant one. Seeing Dr. Mighell was not worth the time, effort or anxiety in my opinion. He gives off the vibe he wasn’t interested in me or my shoulder problem at all. After hearing great reviews from people he has performed surgery on, I was extremely disappointed by his services.

I am a 47 year old female that fell off my daughters hover board and badly broke my humerus bone and joints; and apparently did a number on my nerves. DR. Mighell and is team, have done a remarkable job taking care of me and putting my arm back together. I cant say enough positive comments that express my gratitude to DR. Mighells and entire team! I began at Florida Orthopedic with Dr. Mighell in November for shoulder pain. Everyone is polite, kind and quite helpful. They return calls immediately and are very helpful..I had shoulder replacement 2/15/2021 done by Dr. Mighell. As a paraplegic I have had additional challenges for my recovery process. Dr. Mighell has been compassionate, and been an excellent provider.I am so grateful I had the surgery and would do it again but only with Dr. Mighell and his amazing staff.

I Was suffering with two Rotator cuffs tears for about four years, quality of life was not good, I discussed the issue with doctor Miguel he was very informative on the procedure that would be done, Very polite , made me feel comfortable to ask any questions that I might have had,I could not have had a better doctor then him, the first week home from my arthroplasty surgery, my pain was completely gone, the incision is barley noticeable! & now I am doing therapy.Also his assistant Rita was the greatest, always had time to answer any questions I had pre-op & post - opEven when she got home from work , she was there for me!So; best doctor, best assistant; best care! 🥰

Dr. Mark Mighell changed my life through his incredibly skillful surgery of my left shoulder replacement. I have almost the same flexibility and movement as my non-surgical shoulder. Even the large incision on my shoulder was straight and has healed very nicely. I was in so much pain in the arthritic shoulder and had suffered with this for over five years as the shoulder movement continued to become more restricted. Dr. Mark Mighell is a miracle worker in my estimation. After a series of tests, he determined that I would require a total shoulder replacement to deal with my extreme pain and loss of motion. I had the surgery two weeks ago and already I feel like I have my life back. I will require physical therapy soon and I am convinced that I will be 100% in three months. Being told at the age of 40 that I needed to have my shoulder replaced (by 3 different surgeons) was hard to hear. However my decision to see Dr. Mighell was the best decision I could have made. He immediately saw from my x-rays that a full replacement I was too young for, so he recommended the Simpliciti system and I couldnt be happier. I came to D. MIGELL with a arm broke in 4 places that had been repaired once but that Dr didnt follow thru correctly, so I had all the metal removed by a great Dr. In Vegas but due to Covid and other circumstances i had to move to Fl.Dr.Kam referred me to an amazing Dr.He repaired my arm in july and to this day i am doing great.so i totally recommend Dr. Mighell at Florida Orthopedic in Tampa

I came to see Dr. Mighell for a distal bicep tendon rupture. Being a Sheriff Deputy during my first visit, I was very nervous about the situation I was in. After speaking with Dr. Mighell, I knew I was in good hands. He is knowledgeable and a very experienced orthopedic surgeon. He explained in detail of what to expect pre and post-surgery and how it would affect my recovery time. After the surgery Dr. Mighell took the time to personally call me at home to make sure I was doing ok. My arm post-surgical is great, I lost little to no function. The recovery was quick, and after 6 weeks I was able to lift light weights again with no brace. He has an outstanding team working with him and they have been great throughout the entire process beginning to end.

Dr. Mighell is a gifted surgeon and more importantly, A very good person! He is a throwback. In a day and age where doctors just want to rush you into surgery, get you in and out, and get paid, he takes the time to exchange pleasantries and explain options and procedures very clearly. I had reverse shoulder replacement surgery performed by Dr Mighell on April 1, 2019. The surgery came off without a hitch and I am virtually pain free in my right shoulder for the first time in two years. DR. Mighell and, without exception, his entire staff were absolutely great. Dr. Mighell saved my arm. After numerous failed surgeries, a year of IV medications, and then the so called infectious disease MD expert telling me theres nothing wrong and nothing more to do, Dr. Mighell properly diagnosed and treated my arm in the nick of time. It was the worst year of my life and it finally came to a conclusion after Dr. Mighell stepped in. Thanks. Excellent rapport and spent a lot of time with me.

The best Dr. . Dr.Mighell listens , explains , and gets you motivated by his kindness . He was referred to me by another ortho Dr. as the guy you want to go to for this . He was right . My healing is spot on and I had very little pain the entire process.

Ive been going to Dr Mighell for about 3 years and I have found him and his staff to be exceptionally caring and professional. Most importantly, they dont just whip out the knife to solve your problem - they are very thoughtful about what needs to be done, and I have avoided surgery so far. I also try to avoid cortisone shots, but on two occasions when I needed help at short notice, they were there for me and squeezed me in. Cant thank them enough. I had first rotatory cuff surgery 15 years ago and have been largely debilitated since. I was barely able to lift my hand above my head and had very limited lateral mobility. Dr. Mighell did a full reverse shoulder replacement in December, and its been, literally, unbelievable. I never thought I would ever have the range of motion I am experiencing. Cant recommend Dr. Mighell highly enough.

Had bone on bone shoulder as well as missing a rotator cuff in the left shoulder. Dr Mighell performed REVERSE SHOULDER REPLACEMENT on May 6th, 2019 and the surgery left me with NO PAIN to speak of. Dr. Mark MighellMy name is Michael and I am a 70 year old male. On March 26 2018 , I fell on the ice while trying to learn how to play hockey. I fell with left arm fully extended and tore all four rotator cuff muscles. I immediately went to Florida Orthopaedic Institute. As bad and as painful as the tears were, Dr. Mighell “miles” was able to repair it , albeit with nine anchors. That left shoulder is now stronger than it was before I had the surgery.My right shoulder was frozen for more than 20 years, as a result of a failed surgery. I had little to no use of my right shoulder, for the better part of 20 years, and it was painful all the time. Dr. Mighell advised me that it couldn’t be repaired and would have to be replaced. He said a Complete total reverse shoulder replacement was the best option. As a result of my first surgery experience with Dr. Mighell , I didn’t hesitate one moment, I trusted his judgement completely. In October of 2018, only 5 months after my left shoulder surgery, Dr. Mighell successfully replaced my right shoulder, reversing the ball and socket. I followed is order for physical therapy and I now literally have a brand new fully operative shoulder, with absolutely no pain. I have also been able to actually play ice hockey on an adult beginners league, and enjoying every minute. Dr. Mighell is a superior surgeon, who I highly recommend. He also reattached my right bicep tendon during the replacement. I have absolutely no regrets and would do it all over again. I urge anyone who is experiencing shoulder or elbow problems to consult with Dr. Mark Mighell.
