The nurse practitioner, Barbara is terrible! She was mean, hateful and angry when I saw her. She didnt want me in the office and it was my first visit! Dr. Figliola was much better until I needed an anti-inflammatory prescription refilled. He referred me to pain management after I had run out! Unfortunately, they wont see a new patient via telemedicine and Covid has the offices shut down. The staff is incompetent at best! I will not be going back to any Wellmed providers and Im changing my insurance as well! I contacted the main Wellmed office and they were not helpful at all! It also took over 5 minutes for them to even answer the phone! Stay away from Wellmed! Contrary to what they say, they really dont care!

Their doctors are great, they mean well, and they are thorough.That being said, I feel that this office’s billing practices are deceptive.After doing a physical which is covered 100% on my insurance as preventative care, they required me to schedule a follow up visit before they even knew what my results were. I complied without thinking too much into it, I just assumed it would be part of the physical cost billed to my insurance since it was a related visit, so I didn’t think to question it.Instead I came in for the follow up visit which lasted approximately 15 minutes where I was quickly read my results, which were all normal, nothing wrong or out of the ordinary and I was charged over $100 for this “follow up” office visit and the physical visit itself was free and they demanded payment on the spot.This seems quite deceptive to me as they could have mailed me my results or just told me over the phone everything was normal. An extra visit when everything is normal is a money making ploy to be able to charge me for an office visit. They could have at least made me aware I was going to be charged and they did not.They are not up front about their billing.While I appreciate their thoroughness of explaining my results to me, I should have only had to come in for an additional appointment if something was wrong or if I had questions. If that was the case I could have also just talked to a nurse over the phone like most doctors offices allow.I also shouldn’t have to schedule a follow up appointment just to get my lab results if everything checks out as normal. There is no online portal to review results either.The office staff is not very consistent with the information they provide. Each time I call and speak with someone different, I get a different answer to my question or I am misinformed. I would prefer to speak directly with a nurse, but they insist I speak with someone at the front desk.I am not impressed with how they handle certain things.

Dr.Figliola is one of the best doctors that has ever treated me. He is very kind and compassionate, which is rare in the medical field. He is also very knowledgeable and conservative. He only orders tests that are necessary to support his diagnosis. And I am pleased with all the doctors that he has referred me to as well. He also has a phenomenal nursing staff.

The personnel in the office are very friendly and professional as well as being very knowledgeable. The doctors are very personable and extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of their work. Dr. Figliola and his staff are caring...and take good care of me. The atmosphere is friendly, more informal than formal, and seldom a long wait. I feel I have a very good doctor-patient relationship and am very satisfied.WP

His staff and assistants are great - they are always so very friendly and kind. The best Dr.s office in the Tampa area in my opinion.

My family has used the Village Doctor since the 1980’s and in my opinion they have always provided the finest care in the medical profession. Doctors Gelia and Figliola are always friendly, courteous, and professional in every respect. At each visit they display great concern in wanting to correctly diagnose my medical problems and provide the correct medicine to remedy my condition. In addition, any specialist that they have recommended has always been “top notch”.The entire office staff is very friendly and courteous in setting up appointments, getting prescription refills by phone and handling any questions.I just hope giving Drs. Gelia and Figliola my highest recommendation for medical care does not make it any harder for me to get future appointments. They are the best!

Very sad that this office does not take new medicare and tricare for life new patients. very sad
