From someone who used to have major anxiety around the dentist office, I cannot stress just how wonderful my experiences have been here! They offer compassion, kindness and patience. I actually look forward to my visits to the dentist office now and encourage you to give them a try if you’re feeling uneasy. Bonus: they offer nitrous (and I’ve never felt judged for requesting it!). This team is phenomenal!!

Dr. Abernethy is incredibly gracious and was quick to let me know that I am in charge when I am in her office receiving care. My hygienist today, Stacy, was both gentle and thorough. Everyone is courteous and kind. Even with a very SHORT wait time—Don’t expect to be in and out in 45 minutes! Doing things right takes time. But you will be treated with respect and given great service. Beautiful, comfortable, clean office and waiting area.

Dr. Jill Sonner is an extremely knowledgeable and skilled dentist. I have been going to her office since 2013 and she is always very honest about what treatment plan would be best for me. Her office staff and dental assistants also provide excellent customer service!

I have ridiculous anxiety when it comes to the dentist so it was important to me to feel comfortable and find a place that would be understanding. I have had nothing but great experiences with Mary. She’s patient, her time and explains what she’s doing during your whole appointment. She makes it easier to make follow up appointments when I leave because I know I don’t need to worry. Dr. Welles is the best dentist I’ve had the pleasure of seeing and in the last year and I’ve seen over 10 in New York and Los Angeles! Couldn’t recommend more highly. Her and her entire staff are absolutely wonderful.

This place is unlike any other dental office I’ve been too. Every single staff member is so kind, competent, and thoughtful. They take the time to treat you like a real, whole human being with feelings and unique needs. The facility is also beautiful and immaculate.

As a new patient, Dr. Sonner and staff did a multitude of x-rays and found 2 cracked teeth which need replaced fillings. Within minutes, they gave me a comprehensive list of what could be done and what would be covered by my insurance policies. As someone with dental anxiety and trauma, finding Renaissance is one of the best things that could have happened to me. I’ll never go anywhere else! Vicci the hygienist is so patient, gentle and FAST. Even with my jaw locking up, I was done in less than 30 minutes!

Getting older, I do not like pain or loud noise. The Doctor and assistant made sure I was very comfortable, and I received two fillings. The old military ones, it was time to replace them. During the entire process, both made sure I was comfortable, no pain and the noise was not noticed with the oxygen mixture that they gave me. Thank you both, Dr. Sauner and Mary.

I had an appointment for a new crown yesterday. For some reason my blood pressure was way up high, but the technician and Dr. Sonner figured out how to still do my procedure without raising my blood pressure even more with the anesthetic. The whole experience was completely painless while a temporary crown was fitted. I am always amazed by the fact that this dentist practice has the most up-to-date technology to provide their patients with the best dental care possible! I would recommend this dental office to any of my friends and family.

Fantastic dental experience. I called in the AM after chipping a tooth. I was given 2 same day appointment times. I chose the one that worked for me, upon arrival I was seen quickly after my appointment time. They were able to scan my teeth and mill a partial crown same day and had me fixed up and out the door. Excellent!!

Everyone at my appointment was so nice and friendly! From the receptionists checking me in, my hygienist (Mary), dentist, and the lady taking my payment at the end was very friendly and willing to go above and beyond! I even noticed them wishing a customer a happy birthday with a balloon and gift! I felt like I was getting the best treatment and Mary was very knowledgeable! Highly recommend!

I have had a lot of bad experiences at the dentist which caused me to put off cleanings and needed work for over ten years. About three years ago I went to a large practice in Raleigh with multiple offices and was told that I “might” need 3-4 root canals and 3-4 crowns. The fact that the other practice could not give me a straight answer resulted in my putting off the work. I didn’t want someone to grind off a portion of a tooth only to tell me in the middle of the treatment I would actually need major work. Candidly, I have had anxiety about my teeth ever since that other appointment. It was the fear of the unknown. An hour and a half with Renaissance and that anxiety is now gone.Renaissance gave me straight answers and eliminated my fear of dental work. While the other practice guessed about what I might need, (I was given a “range” of prices depending on what the dentist “found”) Dr. Abernathy and her team were able to tell me what I need to have done and exactly what it will cost. In other words, we are going into the procedure with a plan as opposed to going exploring.Even though I haven’t been to the dentist in a long time, Renaissance is only suggesting what I need to get caught up. In other words, they are not using my poor track record of avoiding the dentist against me to fear monger and upsell me on a bunch of services I don’t need.The office is great. It doesn’t smell like a dental office. It doesn’t look like a dental office. It doesn’t feel like you are at the dentist. I’ll have to admit when I walked in I was a little concerned that the services would be super expensive because it is almost like being at a country club or a spa. In fact, the price I was quoted for my work was actually thousands of dollars less than the low end of the range I was quoted by the other folks that didn’t know what I really needed.If you have been putting off dental work, like me, or are just looking for a dental practice like no other, Renaissance is the practice you need to call. I felt comfortable, I did not feel judged or criticized, and I felt like this practice genuinely wants to help me and do good work.I never thought I would be excited about going to the dentist, but honestly, my appointment for fillings can’t get here fast enough.

I appreciate the care, cutting edge technology and high quality work they do.I brought my 93yo mother in for extensive work her previous dentist had taken a lets keep an eye on it attitude.This is a horrible accusation to make, but feel it is warrented and true, he didnt think with her age, shed suffer much longer! In other words he devalued and dismissed her. I didnt realize the extent of her issues till she began to not eat things she once enjoyed..On the first visit to Dr Sonner. Mom felt she was special and important and knew Dr Sonner would take excellent care of her. She called her the no pain dentist and told her friends about her. Who are now making appointments.Now, after three infected and abscessed teeth extracte and a bridge, she is able to once again enjoy her favorite foods.

I have been going to Renaissance Dental for about two years and have had consistently great experiences. The dentists and the technicians are skilled, communicative and accommodating. I don’t love going to the dentist but they make it such an easy experience. I visited here two years ago after seeing the wonderful reviews. Literally saw the dentist for a whole 2 minutes. The rest of the time was with my dental hygienist who berated me for not taking care of my teeth.. yet Ive never had a cavity in 28 years. The only good thing I got out of the appointment was a sonic care toothbrush.

The dentists here are great. They are warm and friendly as well as professional. They will spend time with you. Dr Sonner is funny, talking to her feels like talking to a friend. Years ago in a new mom sleep-deprived stupor I decided to start Invisalign and backed out because I realized it was a commitment I couldn’t make. Because it meant I couldn’t graze on the kids leftovers all day without brushing 10,000 times per day. They gave me a refund, no questions even though it was my fault. The office is clean, there is hardly any wait time. Also, I like supporting women-owned business.

I have been a patient of Renaissace Dental for many years and has never posted a review although it has always been an excellent experience. However, today I had an appointment with Dr. Sonner that went so well that I felt compelled to share. Unfortunately for years I have been self-conscious about my smile after coming out of braces because of the small space/gap that was created between two of my bottom teeth after things began to shift. I was told for years that the only remedy would be returning to braces which wasn’t an option given my age and the fact that I had already endured them twice already. Well Thanks to Dr Sonner who is a Perfectionist and cutting edge Dentist I was able to leave the office today smiling bigger than I have in years. I would definitely recommend this Practice to anyone seeking a new Dentist and values quality work.

Youd think businesses would be a bit more professional and a little less into cultural appropriation in 2020 but apparently thats not the case for the staff at Renaissance Dental.

I came into this dental practice with concerns about my teeth, as I was using the smile direct retainers. I knew something was very wrong when I was in so much pain from the aligners. I was warmly welcomed when I came in as a new patient, and the hygienist was so very sweet and caring about not only my dental health but me as a person. She expressed her concerns with the retainers in the highest regard and took very good care of my teeth during the cleaning. Moving on, Dr. Abernathy is a goddess. She genuinely cares about all of her patients and does not lack in compassion, empathy, and warmth. Finally, the other hygienist, Mary, expressed all of the same characteristics, and gave me honest opinions about my health and products I could use to improve my dental health. All in all, this team is phenomenal and I can honestly say, the wind blows me to another region or state, I wont go to any other dental office. This place is a miracle. CHOOSE RENAISSANCE.

I had my first appointment with Renaissance today and it was nothing short of perfect. The entire staff is extremely professional and genuinely kind. The atmosphere is impressive for any medical office. I met with their New Patient Hygienist, Jess, who was friendly and thorough. Dr. Sonner was energetic and kept everything very light. Her recommendations were specific to my complaints and her approach was conservative. Next, I met Jenna for my cleaning. She was kind and professional. She did a fantastic job and my teeth feel super clean! I have never felt a place truly deserved a 5-Star rating as much as Renaissance does.

I found Renaissance Dental after avoiding dental care for years. Dr. Wells and her staff did a great job of restoring my dental health. I came to their office with multiple cavities and deep gum pockets which have now greatly improved. My teeth have never been in better shape.Today I came in for a cleaning and had some deep staining due to new braces, and teeth whitening gel had not been able to fix it. Brian did my cleaning and was able to completely remove the stains, I am so happy! He did a great job, the cleaning was very thorough and he used different methods to polish my teeth to fully remove the stains. I am very happy I found Renaissance!

Despite being hounded in an insincere and pushy way by Kendra(not a dentist) to keep rescheduling -I was in need to reschedule my appointment as this was not a cheap visit and needed more time to save money. I cancelled my mid Sept appt in August. Upon the first week on Sept I got an automated text saying it was still on. So I called (still a week before) and cancelled again.Later I received a 400.00 cancellation fee.When I called and told Kendra what happened she told me that I was mistaken and that it did not happen that way and even laughed under her breath at me. She Was VERY condescending and rude basically in other words telling me that I am a liar in a nice way but would do ME the favor and waive it.I got off the phone and was so upset I called back and was going to find my phone records to prove myself.She answered and then said that she now found where I called in August and cancelled. I asked to please have one of the dentists call me so I could express to them my concerns and of what happened. She told me that was not possible so the only one you can talk to is her.The dentists themselves were very polite and everyone else there I came in contact with. The office was very nice and clean. I would have loved to had my work done there and planned to before the end of the year. But at this point I am so turned off by her attitude and I have only ever been polite. I just don’t care to give my money to a practice that talks to customers that way. I have never left a single review anywhere before.I will be finding another dental office for my work as there are so many outstanding ones in Raleigh. I will not recommend this place.

Wow! Wow! Wow! This practice is amazing! (And I dont even like to go to the dentist!) Every single person is authentically kind, compassionate, warm and professional without being stiff. The dentists are conscientious, well educated and they use the latest technology. Patient comfort, happiness and health are at the center of everything they do.I had to get a crown this week. As the dentist injected the novocaine, the hygienist gently patted my shoulder to reassure me. Thats one small example of the way these people care about their patients.Run, dont walk. This place will give you all good vibes and change the way you feel about dentistry.

I truly hate to review Renaissance Dental so low because I think Dr. Sonner is so wonderful. I was looking forward to growing as a client and receiving care from Dr. Sonner and her team for years to come, however, yesterday changed my opinion. Yesterday was my second visit and during that time I have switched insurance companies. Long story short I thought Dental was covered in my plan (it was not and I’m currently in the process of fixing that) and when I spoke with the coordinator last Thursday I gave her all of my updated info. Fast forward to yesterday as I am checking out after my routine cleaning, they realize they cannot find any dental coverage for me. I had no idea that their insurance coordinator would not be in until Monday morning, had they told me that on the phone Thursday that may have made a difference.. It does not bother me that I paid out of pocket, what bothers me is that they were not communicative early enough on to let me know their coordinator would not be in until Monday. When I arrived yesterday morning for my appointment I realized about 7-10 minutes into waiting that they wanted me to text a number so that I could inform them of the make and model of my car. I arrived a few minutes early in fact and kept calling their office as I had not seen the email they sent out regarding the number to text. While I understand the need to text their phone, the lady on the phone Thursday told me when I arrived on Monday am, to call the office and someone would come out. I also do not know why someone could not quickly pick up the phone and also tell me to text their hotline number. When the lady got to my car she made me feel as if I had caused much chaos for being “so” late, as did my hygienist. As yesterday left a very sour taste in my mouth I will be switching my dentist to fix the remaining work that I need done. I wish Dr. Sonner & her colleagues all the best going forward.

Amazing experience during this pandemic in every one of my dentist visits. I felt absolutely comfortable while I was there for my appointments. The staff made me feel safe while through my entire appointment. Everyone was wearing a mask at all times and maintained at least 6 feet of distance. The facility was maintained impecable and sanitized at all times. I would recommend it to anyone looking to for a new dentist! Hands down the best!

Caught my cavity early so I didnt even have to be numbed. It was still a completely painless filling and Dr. Abernathy is always such a sweetheart and fun to chat with. They are incredibly friendly and also do amazing work, which is a rare combo.

They are amazing! I’ve never had a good experience before this with any dentist or dental hygienist, but Vicci and Dr. Sonner were awesome! They answered all my questions and made me feel very welcome. I’ve never enjoyed going to the dentist either but this office does such a wonderful job making your visit better. I highly recommend them to anyone!!

Simply the best! Dr. Sonner is highly skilled and conscientious, as well as gentle and genuinely caring. The entire staff are always so accommodating and helpful. After many years of nervous dentist appointments, I am no longer anxious! I know I can trust the dentists and staff to provide care in accord with my best interests! Dare I say, its fun to go to the dentist now? Beautiful office, too!

I have a lot of dental anxiety and I could not have more pleased with my first visit to Renaissance. Dr. Abernethy and her team were AMAZING, I wish there was a better word to use to describe them. They were so comforting and helpful and easy to be with and talk to. I am so excited to have found them and to move forward with them in my future!

Renaissance Dental is like no other dental practice I have experienced! From the comfy, updated waiting room (complete with water, juice, coffee, etc.) to the welcoming, helpful employees at every turn, to the excellent care my family received, our *entire* visit was nothing but pleasant. Renaissance Dental has some kind of magic going on and its fantastic!

I enjoyed another great dental experience on 10/3. Lauren, a fairly new dental hygienist to join the team, was terrific; I never felt rushed. All the staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful Dr. Sonner never disappoints. You feel like youre spending time with a good friend when she speaks to you. The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxing; very unique compared to most sterile dental offices. Great place for people of all ages.

Even if I moved, I would fly back here for even a cleaning. I’ve been a patient for almost 10 years, and I’ve seen all three dentists and all three are amazing, especially Dr. Sonner! Vickie has been my hygienist for years, and her expertise is incredible. Also, unlike other dental practices, there’s no hidden charges, they don’t do anything you don’t need, and the billing office is great about providing you with a breakdown of pricing with what your insurance will pay upfront. The whole office makes me feel like I’m part of the family. I will never ever go to a different dentist office!

I absolutely love this dentist office. By far my favorite. I left village dental for Renaissance and its been great. Dr. Abernathy is my favorite dentist Ive ever had and Ive had so much improvement since Ive been coming this past year. I look forward to continuing here. Also my dental hygienists have been superb! Very happy patient here!!

I can’t express how much I love Renaissance. I started coming here because of my obsession with my teeth and I needed a dentist who felt the same way. Jill Sonner began as my dentist many years ago and over time my entire family switched to this practice as well. Everyone on staff is courteous, very helpful, and very friendly. I CANNOT go anywhere else because I would never get the care, attention, and excellent dental care anywhere else.

Job well done...came in for cleaning of my teeth after I had to miss a couple of appointments due to work conflicts. Got there a few minutes early and I was escorted in the cleaning office pretty quick and met the new dental hygienist. He was quick and exact and personable. I enjoyed talking with him and he did a bang up job on my teeth..... they are very clean and white.

From my first new patient appointment I was blown away with Renaissance Dental Center. I have NEVER been educated on my dental health. Your first appointment is like no other, they call it a tour of your mouth ... and it was. A tour, at 48, I had never been taken on. (and you see, Im still talking about it) . If you are looking for a walk in, walk out dentist office ... this is not your place. If you are looking for a class act, a dental office where everyone take the time to help you, you should call them today.

Everyone was so friendly starting immediately as you walked in the front door. I loved the style of the office as well..it was as close to a spa as a dentist office could be! The various people working on my teeth informed me of exactly what they were doing and walked me through everything. So happy with my first visit to the office and will definitely refer this office to everyone I know :)

The dentists and staff at Renaissance Dental are phenomenal! They are extremely professional, thorough, friendly and caring. They consistently combine a state-of-the-art practice with a treat you like family attitude that makes going for a cleaning or procedure a pleasant experience. As long as I live in the RDU area, I will never go anywhere else for my dental care! If you are new to Raleigh or the surrounding area or thinking about switching to a new dentist, please give Renaissance Dental a try. You will not be disappointed!

I love this practice. My husband and I have been going since we first moved to Raleigh and today I took my daughter for her first ever dental appointment. The entire staff was wonderful with her and made sure she was comfortable and calm for her cleaning. I fully recommend Renaissance dental for all your family members.

Its always a great experience at Renaissance, where my wife and I have been going for years. Dr. Anna is a good listener and always takes good care of me. Brian just gave me the most thorough cleaning Ive ever gotten anywhere--I was very impressed. Great job, as usual!
