I had a wonderful experience from beginning to end. The young lady who ran me through the initial testing was very sweet. Dr. Handschumacher is so patient and kind. Cayla was a godsend in helping me choose my glasses even calling in another very nice lady for a second opinion. And checking out was easy and swift. Everyone is friendly and engaging. I highly recommend them!

This place is always top notch! Today I went for a consultation about replacing my six-year-old sons glasses that broke while he was cleaning them. They were barely 2 months old. Kendra provided excellent service and noticed that it was a manufacturer defect that caused it to break so easily. Saved us a lot of money by catching the issue. Service like that is why weve driven nearly 30 miles since 2016 to give them business! Great customer service is rare these days, so we have to support businesses that care about their patrons.

Service was great. I went there for an eye alignment test, staff was very knowledgeable and welcoming. Glasses were mailed to me since I live a few hours away, and I received them quickly.

The Dr. had a good bedside manor , very professional and yet dow to earth. The lady assisting with fitting my glasses was patient and professional,and kind. Im so glad I have a very clean and posh office to attend for eye care, the receptionist was awesome too!

Dr. Finn and all of the staff were excellent. I took my teenage son who has Autism and is mostly non verbal for an exam and to pick out new glasses. Everyone was very nice and patient with him during the exam.

The entire staff here is professional beyond description. I decided to go to this particular provider because I was really unsatisfied with the last place that I went to. They answered all the questions that I had, took care to make sure that my exam went well and that I left feeling more comfortable and confident with my exam. 10/10 would recommend.

Few years ago, I had an eye issue after a flight trip out of NC and Dr. Finn called me back in few minutes relieving my stress despite it was a busy Saturday.The staff is so friendly and Gavin, the Lead Optician, is ONE OF A KIND. He went above and beyond to help with my frames and progressive lenses, fighting with manufacturers advocating for his customers getting the best deal and quality. I highly recommend Family Eye Care Center and ask for Gavin if things dont go well with you.

I had a same day cash pay appointment for a case of herpes simplex that had developed in my eye.They did a great job assessing my concerns and prescribing the right medication to alleviate the symptoms. I would highly recommend them.

I just came from an eye appointment with Dr. Handschumacher and was extremely pleased and impressed. He was thorough, patient, and understanding of my complex eye problem. He paid close attention to the history and all the details of involved in my vision changes and challenges. What impressed me the most is that he had firm grasp on my misalignment, a problem that even neurogical ophthalmologists have not been able to help me with. I left his office assured and relieved that, at last, I was getting help, extremely professional and high-quality medical help!

Care was fine. Doctor did a fine job and Im happy with that. However the communication and the overall experience, including followups? Completely dissatisfying.Were in a pandemic, people. Wear your masks. Dont have your staff hanging out, eating, and doing that half mask jive move. I noticed people (plural!) werent following protocols and had to go into quarantine for 10 days after visiting this place. The office representatives were dodgy and non-responsive when I asked them about their policies and testing protocols after the fact... yet they couldnt threaten me with collections fast enough when I contacted them again about it later.I dont live in the area and I dont have to go back. I wouldnt recommend it, even if you do. Plenty of other talented teams around the triangle.

Dr. Handschumacher and his associates are very experienced and knowledgable. They are kind and professional. The culterally diverse office staff made me feel welcomed. They explained every detail and allowed me to ask questions. Several tests were performed during the yearly eye exam. I will definitely be returning to this doctor for any optical needs.

I have unstable Keratoconus in both eyes. I was diagnosed over 13 years ago. Within 13 years I have seen several Optometrists from a variety of states. I tend to research the practice and Doctors prior to scheduling an appointment. On my first appointment I always give what I call my disclaimer to the doctor, to inform them of my condition and explain past struggles regarding other Optometrists. Due to the severity of my condition. I do so to make sure the Dr feels confident that they can provide the best form of treatment for me. Upon my first visit, one observation that stood out the most is the outdated equipment at this practice (not a huge deal). I am a current patient of Dr. Cara Finn. As of now I do not feel 100% confident in her ability to provide the best treatment for me. The contacts she fit me with arent even close to being finished in my opinion. I am experiencing constant fogging in one contact and I absolutely cannot see anything out of the other. I explained my concerns regarding the lens and after attempting for 5 minutes to get to a power that I could see out of, she simply gave up and stated no matter what power she tried I still could not see, therefore she was leaving the lens as is. Once I voiced my concerns regarding the statement she had just made, she then said she wanted to revisit fixing the power in the lens at a later date to allow lens to settle! I have never been told this before by any doctor. Typically, once I receive new lenses, I am instructed to wait around for about 45 minutes to an hour to allow the lens to settle . After this time period, the Dr. would then work on correcting the vision portion and ensuring the fit is perfect. So I was certainly taken aback by her just giving up. No patient wants to hear a Dr say they are not going to do anything more to try to get the best results for their patient. In my past experiences, the doctor typically submits the finally claim once the final results have been reached in terms of contacts. My first appointment was 1/5 and she submitted a bill to my insurance very soon after that appointment and my insurance paid her in the month of January. Here it is 3/1/2021 and I still cannot see any better then I could when I first went to her on 1/5/202. She has already been paid for her services and I cannot see well. The lens usually comes with a 90 day warranty period where all changes have to occur within this time period. Which is one of the main reasons why Dr. would bill at a later time. I am not sure if this is the case with her because she has not even mentioned anything about the warranty on the lenses. I am highly dissatisfied, disappointed, and inconvenienced. It takes a month to get the contacts back from the lab so it has been 3 months however Ive only seen the Dr 3 times so once a month.Update:Just read this response:I think a more appropriate Google Review would be 5 Stars, thanking Dr Finn for getting your vision as good as it is. There are a lot of people with your condition who dont see half as well as you can. You should be thankful for the services you received and that you can see as well as you can.In response to thanking Dr. Finn for my vision...I will thank her once she has helped correct my vision. As of now we are still working off of my old prescription. No updates have been made. My one star will remain. Whoever responded to my review is very unprofessional and does not take the customer concerns seriously which speaks volumes for your practice.Update: I am no longer a patient at this practice. The owner thought my needs would be better met somewhere else. I 100% agreed. I returned their product and my insurance reissued my benefits for the year. This practice has yet to return my co pay (Ill be filing a complaint with BBB) and they chose not to refund the eye exam charge! My insurance is so great that they will pay for me to have another exam. This was the most horrible experience Ive ever had with a doctor.

Dr. Handschumacher is the best eye doctor I have ever been to. The staff are all friendly and excellent and eager to help. The glasses I have got here are the best ever. I would not want to go anywhere else for eye care! You cannot go wrong if you come here.

All the staff and provider is very polite and friendly. But when you register in for your appointment. The front desk staff take your insurance card but dont let you know they or not in network with your insurance provider until you are ready to get glasses. And you hit with a big out of pocket expense. If they no longer with your insurance provider. You should know this after you register in.

The entire staff was thorough, patient, friendly, and went the extra mile for us. Already sent my husband in for his exam! THANK YOUEdit: My husband’s prescription was incorrect in one eye and confirmed by the optical staff. Unfortunately, they refused to correct the prescription without another eye exam that *might* be covered. SO disappointed that they chose not to take care of this issue for us without the possibility of having us pay for their mistake.

I needed a solution that would help me be able to see my best as I work on a computer all day, but still needed to be able to see at a distance like when I drive, or I am not at my desk. I was in this location 4 months ago and they did a fantastic job, HOWEVER, I wanted to schedule another appointment around today’s date and they kept asking me if I had vision insurance. I feel really irritated and disappointed as I figured this is something that stays on file. I’ve received more than 5 calls and messages asking about insurance. It’s like that all they worry about. They need to go a better job.

Customer service was great, very friendly, felt comfortable and very pleased with my glasses. This was my second time getting a new pair of glasses with them.

Awesome eye place! Very nice employees and very thorough doctor. Loved the fact that I was able to make an appointment on line. When I got to the office, I gave the lady my insurance card. Turned out wasn’t the right card, so she looked on her computer for my information and was able to find my insurance when I told her where my husband worked. I was able to use my insurance to get my exam and contacts. Since I also wanted glasses, they we able to give me a discount and I was able to get those to. To top it off, they were able to make my glasses while I waited and they’re going to mail my contacts to me for Free! I would Highly recoded this eye place!!

The people at the Family Eye Center are very friendly and professional. The young ladies at the front desk are friendly and welcoming when you walk in the door. The doctor takes her time and she was very knowledgeable if you have questions about your eyes. I did not feel rushed with the doctor and she was not pushy on making a sale for glasses. We LOVE Dr. Cara Finn...she is knowledgeable, patient, understanding and a great eye care professional--easy to talk to. Also---we have had only great experiences with Janel in reception. She always has a smile when greeting us. Kayla was my optician when choosing my glasses and she was wonderful helping me pick out glasses that were more on the inexpensive side and quickly. This is the first time my husband and I have been to this eye doctor. I looked up reviews on it before going and boy were they right! This place is incredible!! From the receptionist to the eye doctor everyone is extremely nice and the doctor is extremely thorough! The first appointment was for my husband (he has diabetes and his eye sight is bad!) Before we left the doctor had already sent a call over to the retina specialist my husband needed to go see! I liked the eye doctor so much I made an appointment for myself the next day!

Ive got guaranteed the worst pair of glasses from them. I paid for quality glasses and got glasses where the UV coating is peeling from the lenses. Go somewhere else.

Dr. Cara Finn deftly diagnosed an eye condition for which my primary care doctors couldnt help. She was very professional and competent, and put me at ease immediately about the root cause of my eye issues and a clear path forward to recovery. Positive experience! Ive also gone to Family EyeCare for routine eye exams for glasses and contacts--experience has been smooth and they offer a great selection of high-end frames.

Family Eye Care Center exceeded all of my expectations. The entire staff was excellent. This was my first visit and I was 15 minutes late. I ask if I could get my glasses by Friday for a special event four days later. I was told that it normally takes about nine days. After a very thorough eye exam I walked out with a brand new pair of glasses the same day. Thanks a lot!

Horrible customer service. I have been a patient for 2 years. This time I forgot my card and could not pay the 25$ Copay. The nurse told that it is okay and I can pay it on my next visit. While leaving, I asked for the prescription and the lady upfront told me that they will not give it to me until I pay. They are afraid that me being a patient for 2 years will not come back to pay. After getting home and called them to pay, wanted to give them feedback that they should not have been rude to hold my prescription hostage, I would have paid. The customer service lady shut me up before I could continue and was very rude. I was not disrespectful or anything, just wanted to tell them that they should trust loyal patients. I do not get this business model. I think I delayed her lunch as she seemed rushed and told me that they are closing for lunch. I can tell you for sure that they lost my business.Funny how they do not provide the prescription until I pay. However after I paid they never sent me the prescription and had to call them back to send it to me. The same person picked up the phone and rudely said that my prescription was attached to my receipt, which clearly was not. She then sent it eventually.

Its Famiky Eye Care Center doesnt have the largest selection of frames. Whats more their selection is a little pricey when you compare them to enterprise practices like Vision Works. Its all relative in the grand scheme of things in that you truly get what you pay for. Everyone that I encountered in the establishment was extremely courteous. You can tell that they enjoy their job. Sanitation and cleanliness are of utmost importance in that you can find hand sanitizer at each station. They take the time to wipe down each station before seating a new customer. Whats more they have six feet marked out so as to promote social dustance. Whats more the chair is very comfortable and the overall ambiance is nice. As such youll be relaxed should you have ti wait awhile.Moving al8ng, Dr. Finn is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and courteous. There was literally a waiting room full of patients but she took her time with me in allowing me more than enougy time for my eyes to focus without my contacts in. She also said that my former optometrist was incorrect in that i did not need bifocals as of yet. And get this, my former optometrist was only able to get my vision up to 20/30 in glasses with bifocals. Dr. Funn was able to get my vision in glasses up to 20/20 without them. I am now a customer for life. Thank you so much Dr. Finn and Family Eye Care Center.

I have had seen many eye doctors over the last 15 years and none have diagnosed the issue with eye alignment that gave me vertigo. This is the first one to diagnose the problem and the glasses have been a lifesaver! Couldn’t recommend them enough! Office is clean, friendly, and professional. It’s a busy office but I’ve never felt rushed making sure I get just the right lenses or frames.

I scratched my eye and called Family EyeCare Center not even sure they could help me. Janel (I believe?) answered my call and was friendly, kind, and asked the right questions about what happened and insurance and the like. I had actually called one place before here and they were pretty apathetic, so this was a 180 from that. She was able to get me in right away and after talking with her, I felt very comfortable going in. Minimal wait once I was there. Dr. Handschumacher was great - thoroughly explained everything going on and the options, made sure I understood, and got my eye feeling a lot better in short time. I really appreciate you all helping me out in a pinch. I was a first-time patient, but I will be back. Thanks!

I first visited Family EyeCarr Center the first year they opened and a few years after moving to Raleigh. I had been to a few other eye doctors prior and wasn’t impressed with the level of care getting the feeling they where eyeglass factories. When I had my first appointment with Doctor H I noticed the difference right away and got the feeling that he cared about his and his staffs level of service. I can not recommend him and his staff high enough.

Overall a very good experience. I was able to make an appointment online and got in quickly. I was even able to submit my info on their website so I didnt have to fill out forms when I got there. The lady at the front deck wasnt very friendly when I got there so that was a bad start. But everything else was great. The doctor was very nice and answered my questions about my contacts and getting laser surgery. The lady that measured my glasses was very nice and helpful. Although the front desk lady was a sourpuss, everything else was great. I recommend this eye place to anyone who lives in this part of town.
