The atmosphere of the office is very warm and welcoming. All of the staff I encountered were friendly and assistive. This visit exceeded my expectations and I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else after this for an eye exam. Dustin and Dr. Palo were both personable and very knowledgeable. I had a really awful experience with this shop. I went in on a strict budget and needed basic glasses. The two men that work there took advantage of the insurance I had and ended up selling me $1500 glasses but not being transparent about the cost. The worst part is that I cannot see out of the glasses I got from them. Everything is blurry. I’m so angry about their treatment.

I wanr to preface this by saying I dont typically write reviews. I switched eye doctors and came here because of the high reviews on Google, 4.9 stars...yes please! I am extremely happy I did!! Everyone was so nice, and knowledgeable, and thorough. Starting at the front desk, I could tell this wasnt your typical chain eye doctor where you get rushed through the process. Dr. Palo gave me a lot of great insight on my vision, and most importantly, he was very personable. Even with picking out glasses, the gentleman that helped was patient and I appreciated his honest opinion about how the glasses looked on me. He told me about the customizable glasses I inquired about, and he pulled up the website to show all of the frame shapes the company offered. I appreciated the information he provided, in his saying the glasses would take longer because they were all hand crafted. Overall, Im super impressed and will definitely be making The Eye Institute my new go-to for anything related to my vision!!!

I have visited twice and have nothing but good things to say. The staff and doctors are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. My husband also has visited for an emergency visit after getting a piece of metal in his cornea. Weve both had great experiences and wouldnt go anywhere else!

I went here to have my Maui Jim lenses replaced. The optician I worked with, Dustin, said he would inquire into the different lense types available and their respective prices and get back with me.8 days later I get a voice message stating that he couldnt replace the lenses without sending the frames in? That was never a question. I had left my glasses with him for 8 days for that purpose. He did not answer my question about the different lense types and prices. Even the receptionist remembered that the outstanding question was what types of lenses were available and at what price.Given that I had left the glasses with him for 8 days I would think it would be apparent that I did so for him to be able to send them to Maui Jim for lense replacement. In any event I needed these quickly and after 8 days I was no closer to them being sent in so I picked them up and am going to another provider. Terrible first impression for this business.My reply to Dr Palo: That is not what you did. When Dustin left his message 8 days after I left my glasses with him he made no mention of the different lense choices I had asked him to inquire about. His message said simply that he couldnt get the lenses replaced without sending in the glasses which was never a question. Now that Ive written this review and picked up my glasses hes called back and given me the information I asked for. So the glasses that are my daily wear glasses are nowhere closer to being fixed than they were 8 days ago. I have been in contact with Maui Jim and given them my feedback and they have provided me with some other options for providers in the area. You dropped the ball.

We are fortunate enough to have plenty of medical professionals to choose from in the area. How refreshing it was to realize that there are still a few businesses that honestly make people feel as though they truly appreciate and value them. Dr. Palo is obviously very knowledgeable about eye care, but what truly impressed me was how kind and patient he and his staff were during my visit 2/1/21. I didn’t get the sense of being “just another person”, during the visit. He actually took time to get to know me and my concerns. I highly recommend this practice!!!

I went to the Eye Institute to use my insurance by the end of the year. I normally go to an ophthalmologist but due to the lack of time this year I went to an optometrist. The doctor was sub par - first he refused to give me an exam unless I wore a mask. The doctor is terribly ignorant of the Americans with Disabilities Act and the fact that Gov. Coopers mandate excludes anyone with a preexisting medical condition from wearing a mask. The examination was mediocre and the doctor made an irrelevant comment about one medication I was taking which has absolutely nothing to do with my vison. The worst part of my visit is that an assistant took my glasses and away from my sight examined them to see the strength of my Rx. My glasses were scratched - I dont know if that was deliberate or if the person was just that rough or incompetent. I would never endorse the Eye Institute.

New to the area looking for a new Eye Dr. Went in for a regular exam and contact fitting. The doctor and all staff were friendly and inviting. Were able to get contacts for me super quick; just in time for my vacation. They just earned 3 new customers.

What a great experience! Not only did I receive a much more thorough eye exam than in the past, the education I received about frames, lenses and fit was exceptional. Everyone in the office made a point to ensure I was comfortable at every stage of the appointment. Thank you!

My wife I enjoy having our exams done here. They use great technology that allows them to avoid putting drops in your eyes. They take a picture of your retina and then display it in a large display screen. You get to see an up close view of the health of your eyes and it makes the doctor’s job easier, too, I think. Of course, he does a personal exam of your eyes also, but the picture is a big help from the patient’s perspective. If you want a careful exam from a pleasant professional who answers all your questions, you’ll be very happy with Dr. Palo. His Optician is equally professional and courteous. They have a good selection of frames that are attractive.

Absolutely wonderful experience. One of the few places Ive encountered that seems most interested in you as a person and your overall health rather than simply walking through a routine. Dr. Palo spent time helping me understand why my eyes function the way they do and how best to keep them healthy. Personable, knowledgeable and caring staff, Dr. Palo and his assistant gave me and my husband thorough eye exams using state of the art equipment, and answered all our questions. While its a relatively small practice, they still have a great selection of high quality frames, and Brandon helped us pick out several pairs for us that fits our needs and looked great. They even processed our insurance quickly and smoothly.

As a newbie to NC I discovered The Eye Institute through a recommendation. It didnt feel like next person, it felt very comfortable because it was all about you. They want you to see well.

I absolutely LOVED this office!!! I have gone to the eye doctor annually since I was a kid and this was by far my favorite eye doctor. I appreciate physicians that are down to earth and have a great personality. Sometimes you encounter doctors with an elitist mentality....that was not the case here. Dr. Palo was AWESOME! My daughter and I will be back next year.

At my age I have been to many Eye Doctors, I am very comfortable with Dr. Palo and his staff. That is where my next visit will be.

Adam and everyone else who work at The Eye Institute are amazing. They take their time to make you feel comfortable when being examined and fitted. Adam likes getting to know everything about your medical history and explains why the eye is the gateway to your health. Always a great deal of insight during those exams. Dustin spent a lot of time trying to find the right frame for me, which wasnt easy. There is never any pressure to purchase frames from them, but they sell the most interesting frames in town.

I have been putting off getting an eye exam for many years now, because my last couple experiences resulted in the wrong Rx. However, I was extremely pleased with my visit!!The optometrist said I have probably had trouble getting the correct Rx due to the fact that my bad vision has been untreated for so long, my eyes won’t relax for the exam. Apparently I took 3 times longer than a normal appointment, but the optometrist was very patient with me. I’m also very light sensitive, and he was very considerate of that fact.The staff were also very considerate and helpful, as it takes a special type of person to be able to look at my insurance coverage and quickly figure out what my total cost would be if I get “this” vs “that.” Thanks guys!I’m on day 2 of my new contacts, and I couldn’t be more pleased!

The doctors and staff at The Eye Institute are unrivaled!!! They truly care about their patients and that level of caring is evident in all they do. From the moment you walk through the door, they make you feel like you matter because you do matter to them. The doctors are very attentive and compassionate. They take the time to explain things and educate you while you’re there, and they never rush through an appointment. I recently took my 4 little boys for their first exams and Dr. Palo was amazing! He was extremely patient and understanding and listened to all of my “mom questions.” The staff is welcoming, friendly, and always asking how they can help. Even if “help” means watching you try on 50 pair of sunglasses (me!) to find the perfect ones, they are there to answer your every question. I wouldn’t trust our eyes to anyone else!!

Great, quick appointment. This was my first time at the eye doctor and it went smoothly. I ended up buying a pair of frames afterwards but had to ask for a refund after I went to a different eyeglass store and found a pair I liked better. They were really helpful and immediately refunded me. Definitely recommend.

EPIC FAIL TODAY!!A few weeks back, my wife got some debris in her eye while doing yard work. After a couple days, it was apparent that my wife needed to get her eye checked because the irritation wasnt going away. I recommended The Eye Institute to her based on my previous good experience with Dr. Palo. Two weeks ago she had a virtual appointment with Dr. Morgan who prescribed her an antibiotic and drops. Still experiencing some irritation, she made an in-person appointment with Dr. Morgan for today which went south very quickly!After a very lengthy covid preventive check in process, we sat down to wait for Dr. Morgan to call her in. A short time later, we are approached by the receptionist who stated that their particular facility (Colonnade Center) was not a part of our insurance companies network, but their other Raleigh location was. What? Arent all three of your offices under the same ownership? Before my wifes virtual appointment two weeks ago she gave you her insurance info and there was no problem then or when I had my appointment months ago? If there was an issue, do you think maybe my wife could have been notified PRIOR to her appointment today? Upon hearing this, we immediately called our insurance company (we never left their facility) and after a lengthy hold it was determined that our insurance DID cover her previous medical eye exam and the one scheduled for today! Relieved to hear this, we then went back up to the receptionist to let her know but unfortunately we lost our appointment for today. WHAT!!?? The receptionist then indignantly told us that wed have to reschedule again!Let me get this straight ... after my wife lost 2 hours of work getting off early to make her appointment, then driving 25 minutes across town and then being on the phone for over 30 minutes with our insurance company trying to resolve a problem that didnt really exist if your staff would have been more proactive in thoroughly verifying our coverage, you dont have the decency to fit us in again??!!Needless to say, my wife is still in pain and we now have to start looking for a new eye doctor quickly ... THANKS EYE INSTITUTE!!

I bought the most amazing glasses--handmade in Italy--from The Eye Institute. I fretted over this purchase and kept going into the shop--8-9 times--because the glasses were a bit expensive. But as I looked at my options around Raleigh and online, I kept coming back to this place with the coolest, most unique designs. So ultimately I bought them and I love them!! A few weeks ago, I snapped off the side ear piece. I went in right away and because the company in Italy was closed for 3 weeks (Europeans do vacation right!), the folks found a similar style, put my lenses in temporarily so I could wear beautiful temporary glasses while I waited, versus my old Costco pair. The customer service here in TOP CLASS! These folks are warm, professional, charming and delightful. BUY YOUR NEXT PAIR OF GLASSES AT THE EYE INSTITUTE!

Dr. Chad Morgan at the North Raleigh office has been fantastic. He came highly recommended and has taken the time to properly diagnosis my cornea condition while being committed to continue to try and properly fit me for contact lenses to provide the best sight. I love how he treats me with respect and is clear with expectations and goals.

Dr. Palo and the staff at The Eye Institute are great! My appointment was pleasant and easy, even with the COVID-19 precautions in place. I appreciated Dr. Palo’s explanation of the retinal imaging, as well as the staff who kindly made a repair to my glasses during my appointment.

I ended up at The Eye Institute at Seaboard Station after having a less than stellar experience a couple years ago at a Cameron Village shop, and Im so glad I did! My prescription mustve changed with pregnancy and I was in desperate need of some new glasses. I wanted cool and updated frames without the sales-pitch pressure Ive gotten elsewhere. TEIs selection and staff are incredible! They have classic, great, well-known brands as well as cool new European brands I hadnt seen elsewhere. Their staff was really knowledgeable and easy to work with and handled working with my insurance without any effort from me. I get so many compliments on my new frames and sunnies. 🤓😎 Ill definitely be back for my future needs and maybe sooner if I can convince my husband I need another pair!

I am not one to normally review businesses or services because I am not an authority on anything, However I have to say that I left feeling as if I was valued, and that my money was being well spent on something I wanted to spend it on, Not something I felt pressured into thinking I needed. The Eye exam was by far one of the most involved and well explained I have ever experienced, I was pleasantly surprised the that the Dr. was present the whole time, my questions were answered with thought and not once did I get the standard I would not be to concerned response, it was always a clear interest to make sure I was understanding the technical as well as the results of his answer. Glasses are not something I get excited about but I will admit I can not wait to see if I can well SEE again without the endless adjusting and straining my current Glasses are affording me.Sincerely, Will Mannes

Dr. Adam Palo and his staff are fantastic! It was almost like hanging out with a friend during our appointment-he was so personable & friendly & laid back! My two children saw him & he was so patient with them, including their toddler brother who wasn’t being seen, and answered all their millions of questions about all he does, his tools etc. He explained the procedures to them prior to doing anything in a developmentally appropriate manner so they could completely understand what he was doing. He took his time and was so very kind! It was my daughters first ever eye appointment & he calmed her nerves & she’s since told everybody at her preschool about her visit. My spouse & I have appointments with him coming up and I’m positive we will have the same through experience! An easy breeze with our insurance & the fact that they reuse the patient intake sheets to not waste paper was a huge perk in my book! Also a beer for mom or dad during an appointment doesn’t hurt either! I can not recommend this office more highly!!!!!

This was by far the most comprehensive and pleasant eye exam experience I have had in 15+ years of corrective vision. Sierra and Dr. Palo didnt rush, and its easy to tell they enjoy what they do on a daily basis.

Dr. Palo went through several different pairs of contacts with me to get the right fit. I have had trouble with dry eyes and irritating contacts for a while and I am so thankful that he took the time to explain why I was having issues and to get the right fit for me. I have been an Eye Institute patient for many years and have always felt that I received excellent care but this was my first visit to this location. Heather and Dr. Palo were extremely friendly and welcoming. The office is beautiful (I felt like I had stepped into a HGTV set) and best of all Dr. Palo gave me a very thorough exam and was very patient as I fumbled my way through the which is better A or B? section. Heather spent a lot of time helping me to choose frames and helping with insurance and payment. I highly recommend the Seaboard Station Eye Institute.UPDATE: Just had my annul appointment with the team at the Eye Institute and theyre still the best. I was several minutes late and they were nice enough to see me anyway and did not make me feel one bit guilty. I HIGHLY recommend them!
