Always on point. I moved here from Ga and was wondering who would I have to maintain my braids. Was riding around and found this place. Been going here very since 2020. She is fast and is about growing your hair. I would recommend her to anyone.

I came in asking for knotless braids they had me pay $250 before the service was started. I asked her to take a picture before she finished and the parts were very uneven, the sections were uneven, the sizes of the braids were inconsistent, some were small some were medium size, the ends of my hair were sticking out of the braids and all. So I told her she didn’t have to finish and that I did not like them. I told her I would give her $75 for her time but can I receive a refund. She refused my refund and proceeded to tell me it’s not her problem if I don’t like it.

They made me feel welcome and at home and they do a fantastic job on braiding my hair definitely 5 star quality non my book!!😊

I went to Mabel hair braiding in Raleigh call Lake Wheeler Road it was the sorriest knotless braids I had ever seen and they charged me $200 be careful when you go there to get your hair done you will get screwed over

Unfortunately I will no longer be supporting this business until training is done on how to better braid clients hair and how to prevent Traction alopecia. A client shouldn’t have to tell you if you are braiding too tight, you should already know. The money is all this business has become about. I remember when the quality of work was beautiful and it promoted hair growth and not damage. Gain the passion you once had and your business will thrive again. It shouldn’t be All about the money. I’ve been coming here for almost 12 years until today. I have to heal physically and mentally because of what has happened. I have NO EDGES. If anyone would like me to post pictures I will.

I went in to get knotless braids. I came out with a head full of knots. After confirming with the first braider that she was doing knotless, half way through I opened my phone camera to see a head full of knots at the front of my hair. I asked at that point if they were going to decrease the price since they didn’t do what I requested and she said of course. Then 2 hours later when it came time to pay they asked for the full price. Don’t go here requesting knotless because that’s not what your going to get.

It was a good experience. I just didnt think it would take 6 1/2 hours to do for what was supposed to be Cornrows Hairstyle. (Not all my hair was Cornrows Braids, some was Box Braids.

They are very very very unprofessional.. I’ve been there multiple times with no problem and took a child to get two straight backs . Mind you she had 4c hair, i specifically told them if they couldn’t do two braids then to put 4 braids in her hair , the lady who braided her hair continued to braid her hair, she put lots of black gel on her hair after I told the owner to use jam. Then she put her under the dryer and her hair was not right .. I will never go back there. They wanted to take her hair out and send her outside without her hair done .. they said that they didn’t want to do her hair at all after they messed up on her hair. I hate unprofessional people and if you knew you couldn’t do the job you should’ve just said that .

I advise you to just pass this shop up. Website is terrible. Asked individual if she could send me pics to show her work and said she couldnt. Told me to go to instagram. I have no instagram account. She sound like she was anxious to get off call. Maybe this shop has too many customers and they think they can afford not to offer a decent customer service experience with new prospects. Ill pass.

Ive gone here plenty of times to get my hair done and every time I do it’s a PROBLEM. They worry more about how pretty a style is rather than the health of your hair. If you come with your hair in it’s natural state, they will blow your hair out while it’s DRY! And if you complain about it, they’ll offer for you to do it yourself even though you’re paying them for THEIR services. I lost my edges on the right side of my head because of them constantly gripping my edges and weighing them down with braids. So now I suffer from traction alopecia that still haven’t healed or grew back years and treatments later. I recently went back here yesterday to get some jumbo braids, I parted my hair, blown it out and even bought my own hair because she said labor was the reason why she overcharges and providing the hair and they charged me $150 and they didn’t even tuck my natural hair in or use jail so it would stay in the braid or NOTHING. Just complained about the type of weave I have and then put it in there with no effort. My brother came here to get his hair washed & detangled and to get his hair dreaded and they got a comb and combed out his dry matted hair and claimed that was the only way she can do it. He literally almost cried and he’s 20. She used a ton load of gel for the dreads too🤦🏽‍♀️. They also argue with each other a lot and sneak diss in their own language which is very annoying because they assume you can’t understand them. They tend to talk about our hair or how annoying we are with telling them how we want our hair done but yet they always tell us to let them know. (I’m the picture with the blonde box braids) DO NOT COME HERE! I be trying so hard to support my black queens but these women don’t know what they’re doing.

The establishment is clean and they always give you a small side table to set your purse and any other personals on. I also love the fact that you can get an appointment at 8am. 3 stars because they charge the customer a fee if you pay by credit card. They claim the credit card machine isnt working so I was inconvenienced of having to go find an ATM that wouldnt charge me a fee and then drive all the way back to pay. They do not tell the customer up front about all of this.... you find out when it is time to pay.

The stylists here are incredibly rude and unprofessional. I got my hair braided here once and Ill never go back again. They told me one price and then changed it when I arrived. As I was sitting there, they were mocking me and didnt realize Ive worked internationally and understood a lot of what they were saying. Take your business to a more respectful and professional braid shop and avoid this place.

They have the Worst service ever and the over charge for poor quality work I got box braids for $190 that didn’t even last me a month the 2week I had them my back came out and my front were pulling on my edges & left me a bald spot and when I wanted it fixed they told me I should have came the week before I do not recommend this place to anyone!!

Worst place Ive ever been in my life! I called 3 times before going to ask the price and she told me it was 100 dollars to take my extension, wash, dry and put it back. When I finished doing my hair she wanted to charge me another 33 dollars and lied saying that she told me by phone that she would charge 30 extra dollars to wash and dry my hair. I went to withdraw money at ATM and asked her to come with me. She said no. She pulled my card out of my hand. She went back into the salon and charged what she wanted from my card without my authorization. I tried to get my card from her hand before she got on the machine and she assaulted and pushing me. She just returned my card after charging $ 133. I went to the police immediately and now she will have to pay for the crime she committed. Unreliable company. They deceive customers and are aggressive. I do not recommend. I was with my 6-year-old daughter and she was in panic. crying!!!!! I immediately reported the theft to my bank and authorized the payment of $ 100 only. Problem solved. We are in the United States and here there is law. They cant start a business and think that they can rob people like that.

Ive been going to Mabel for maybe 6 years now. Shes done my Senegalese and my Box braids and Ive loved them every single time!!!! You and your shop keep up the good work! And FYI whenever I have been there, everyone that was getting their hair done that day was satisfied. Thank you again!!

Im sorry but I use to go here very often. . Great styles but very inconsistent ! Considering the fact that I didnt have enough money the first time I went there she offered to still proceed with doing my hair although I said Id be back to get money from the ATM . I paid $160 & received the $180 length . I went again & paid $180 but they gave me the $160 length . The last time I asked if I could bargain & lower the prices because I will be providing my own hair ... the owner tells me we can discuss it when you get here . Upon my arrival she looks through my hair (that Ive purchased) speaking a different language (French maybe) talking about the hair. then they begin to do my hair .owner then tells me it will be $200 even though I provided my own hair & the ending result is I STILL GOT THE $180 LENGTH & PROVIDED MY OWN hair ! Sick of it .. 🤢 Im not going back . Sucks because they do good work but they are MONEY HUNGRY .

Ive been to this place twice now, and each time I had a bad experiences. I want to point out that these women most likely DO NOT have hair licences. For starters, the women that work at this salon are not nice at all. They are very rude, and talk about you and other customers when you ask a question. about YOUR OWN HAIR. They attempted to talk me into another style, although I said multiple time what I wanted. They braid EXTREMELY tight even when you ask them not too. They are VERY money hungry, and do not have set prices. At one point, FOUR women were working on my hair at one time and pulling it in different directions while talking loudly to each other for HOURS in my ear. Little kid running around everywhere, and the salon is rather dirty. You can tell they are lazy women, and overall the experience was bad. Find another salon were you will be treated like a customer and not a money object.

If I could give this ZERO stars, I would. The customer service was terrible and they did a piss poor job on my hair. They were much more pleasant when it was time to take my money, the braids started falling out 2 days later. I dont live in the state but was driving back down literally just to get this handled. They were so nasty to me, telling me I was a waste of their time and they made it crystal clear that they didnt care about my business or the fact that a style that costs upwards of $200 that SHOULD last AT LEAST last 6 weeks, barely made it to week 2. I am disgusted and will NEVER recommend anyone to this shop. Do yourselves a favor and find a licensed stylist who also braids. Its so worth it.

Got tree braids done $200. Ithe braids were so tight my head blistered. The quality of the hair was awful said it was human hair. 2 weeks later the braids are falling out. Called and talked to her about it she said send pictures, I did and she stopped responding. No one has $200,to throw away. But Im gonna have to take a loss and remove them. Never will deal with them again.

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE....OR VALUE...I had been coming to Mabels for over 2 years and even making the hour drive because I was dealing with a Christian based salon and while i’d Seem some questionable customer service issues, I’d not had any until yesterday. I arrived at 8:20 a. m. to begin the process of taking out the braids from my previous style and washing my hair. All was well but quickly began to turn south when my regular braider could not do the style I wanted. Okay, no problem if there’s someone who can do it. “Yes”, they said just give her the picture. I left at 9:45 pm after being there over 13 hours and not with the updo style requested. Sad part is that Mabel looked at the picture and tried to convince me it was the style. And deducting $20 from her original price was not fair....REALLY!!! EVEN AFTER HAVING A LONG-TIME CUSTIMER IN THE SHOP FOR 13+ HOURS!!! You rather lose a good customer over $20.00!!!“Bye Felicia”!!!

They have decent prices but it could take a little min and I feel if a client is there longer than 4 hours some refreshments should be offered some water or something would be nice 8 hours can make you a little parched. I’m just saying....

I would never come here they were very rude to my cousin, they talked about the size of her head, belittled her, charged her more than normal because of the density of her hair, not the length or style the density. Then didnt even give her the style requested... They picked on her like a bunch of caddy high school girls.. Making comments like her hair should cost $500 instead of the $180, because of how big her head is (charged her $200 btw).. These women had the audacity to tell her she couldnt and shouldnt go natural because of how thick her hair is & she needed a perm... My cousins hair is long, thick and beautiful... What kind of african woman tell another african american woman she shouldnt go natural... The worst part is she has been going to these women repectfully for a couple of years... That was her last visit.... You want Fabulous natural hair, extensions, cuts etc.. Go check Rapheal Lee On martin st in down town raleigh... Not only are they great people, they respect you & you hair...

I have been to this salon a few times for my box braids and they were not what I expected but they were not bad! This last time I went to get faux locs and they are HORRIBLE!! They used kinky twist hair and they hair have completely matted together!! Mind you I just got these locs Saturday and today is Thursday, im going to attempt to call them and have them re-do it, but after this I will not be going back!!! I do not have 200.00 to waste so hopefully this goes well

Horrible. Do not go here. Trust me. I had an appointment for 6 pm. I came in 1/2 hour earlyI showed a picture of what I wanted. Asked can you do this? The lady says yes. I sat in the chair for a 1/2 hour for her to figure out how to part my hair.( I only wanted 4 cornrows) Final she starts braiding, I tell her its tight in the front of my hair. She said,ok and continues to braid the front tight. After 2 hours she is done. The style I wanted was far from what she did. When asked if I like it, I said no this is not what I wanted and the only response was sorry. They said it right, they are sorry. I will never go back their and if I was you I would stay far away from them.

At one point after my first visit I thought I loved them and my braids until this terrible experience after 3days too 1 week my feedin braids where coming apart rapidly I reached out to them advising that this one braid was pulling extremely to tight she gave me a hard time as if everything was about the money not the business neither my hair I was afraid that I would loose some hair and asked could they address the issue I was given nothing but attitude and non professional responses end results I have a nice size bald spot in the front of my head
