She informed them she cant walk and she will need assistance getting home, because she was on her way to the supermarket therefore she didnt have any money. So they never gave her anything to eat or drink since she arrived6 or 7pm and to her she needs to find a way home. They threatened her with security to Escort her out and the nurse lie about ordering, security push her outside and letf her alone! How you treat your patients . J.Cortes

If I can give this hospital a no star I would. My mom has been in this hospital several times, however this admission has been the WORST! The few good employees are overcasted by the horrible ones, its sad but true. People have lost sense of humanity, patience and sincere care. My poor mother has to go through this alone because families cant stay with her or visit, and I feel some people take advantage of that. I will leave this tidbit just so youre aware of what Im talking about. My mother fell on an assisitive device when they tried getting her out of bed. I received no phone about the incident, if it wasnt because my mom told me, I wouldve never known. Me being her proxy this was VERY ALARMING! Shes been hospitalized for a month now and every time they move her from rooms they lose one of her personal items. This is sad coming from a prestigious hospital that is Jackson Memorial.

I’m conflicted bc my nurse practitioner is awesome. Helpful and very friendly. The front desk specialist was also extremely professional and seemed competent. But the process to get checked in seemed like a mess. There was a line all the way to the door. I waited 2.5 hours to get called. Only to then wait in another room for about an hour. The meet with nurse practitioner only took 15-20min. Then I waited almost another hour to get my final paperwork and go home. Over 4 hours of waiting yesterday. All this for a physical. I hope this isn’t a usual thing

I brought my husband to have a CT Scan at the Outpatient Clinic & Diagnostic Center at Jackson and was asked to wait for him in a mosquito infested waiting room with no AC. Is this the way to treat a full paying customer? Would administration ask their parents to sit in this area, I think not. Someone needs to correct this and please do not tell me that it’s under construction. You say” miracles are made daily”, so make it happen and provide AC for all waiting in this room.

Not a good experience. Did not find the nurses nor PCT staff helpful. The staff were very sarcastic and insensitive to my partners current condition where he was unable to do anything for himself after 4 emergency surgeries in 3 days. He had not bathed for 2 days and then PCT dropped stuff for him and left when it is obvious and he said he needs help please. They did not change the dressing for his wounds and did not do checks on the machines attached to him to ensure everything was fine. He had to keep buzzing someone to come check him and they would show up 30 mins after. The machine sucking blood from his surgery site was not working and this was completely missed. I am just overall disappointed and would not recommend :-(.

Parking is the garages is free for the first 2 hours and I believe $3 an hour after that.. they do have a $10 flat rate all day parking in a nearby lot as well that is only a short 10 min walk. Temperatures are checked and masks required at entrance. I have scheduled an appointment and been there for over 3-4 hours over and sometimes they attend me in less than an hr. If you do not qualify for insurance, make sure to ask them about the Jackson card! Low copays and doesn’t require a monthly premium! Financial assessments are now being done through the phone and they don’t have appt for over 3-4 months so call we’ll ahead.

I wish I could give this hospital negative 5 stars. We are out of town 7 hours away from home & a friend had to be taken to the emergency room for foot surgery. He had surgery on Sunday morning but none of the nurses or doctors would give him any information of what the surgery was, how long he’d have to stay in the hospital, they didn’t clean the wound or change the bandages for 2 full days. We all were stranded outside of the hospital waiting on him to be discharged for 2 days because they lied over and over saying he would talk to the doctor any minute to be discharged. They gave us a huge run around for 3 days until finally we had to call the nurse and be rude to get ANY information. The doctor did not even know what day he had surgery. They wanted $500 down payment for a ‘payment plan’ thru the hospital BEFORE he could even be discharged!!This is the worst experience and this is the short version of a few things that went wrong. I’d recommend ANY hospital before this one.

I don’t even know where to begin to express how satisfied I am with the level of care and service provided at Jackson. They care so much; every nurse, doctor, housekeeper, food attendant and even handyman is beyond nice and professional. So much I can’t even tell the difference between a nurse and a housekeeper when they first walk into my room! I mean this goes beyond your average hospital expectations in terms of service. They follow up on every request, managers and concierge services come check on your well being constantly and sincerely value your feedback and actually act upon it should something need attention.I am truly impressed as I had reservations before coming here. They proved me wrong! I saw 1 star reviews due to parking or other health unrelated matters...honestly who cares when you get this level of care and professionalism and when your health is at stake?? They say they want to provide excellent care and part of that is providing daily updates to families via phone each shift and letting families know of patient transfers. Families cannot visit so a phone call would be great for some peace of mind. I know the staff are busy but part of the circle of care is family involvement and timely updates. Also transfer of accountability from unit to unit is incomplete. This is an important piece of patient care so that continuity of care can take place safely. I am very, very dissatisfied with the communication and my trust is eroded because i now wonder if he is indeed getting excellent care as is promised in the mission and values statement.

Proud of the way that Jackson Memorial Hospital is helping the community in their efforts of controlling COVID-19. I am one of the many citizens that got vaccinated and seeing their level of dedication and professionalism is amazing and encouraging to keep the fight against COVID-19.

I recently attended Jackson memorial hospital. Went to this hospitals ER and from my experience I strongly DO NOT recommend this place. I would rather go to a animal shelter for some help. After waiting for 5 hours and having not even a IV or some one come check on me, I asked for discharge papers and the nurse said “Man, can’t you wait” I didn’t wait. Ended up just wobbling out and going to Mt Sinai with nothing. Wish I had names. Sad part is they charge for the service.

I would give this hospital a ZERO. My 2 day stay was the worst in my entire life. I was left in pain, and didnt sleep at all after my cervical spine surgery. I in process of talking with Aetna insurance to not approve surgery at this particular hospital and filing a malpractice law suit.

This hospital is tantamount to a hospital in a third world country. I would absolutely avoid going here. We went for an emergency and the care was so subpar that I would have left immediately except we are from out of town and not familiar with the area. We had medical imagine done and was told to follow up with a specialist. I called to get the imagine and could barely understand what the female was saying but the general theme was that they are closed and I need to mail them something and then they will send it to me in the mail. The specialist said that they need to decide how to treat this within 14 days and 7 days was past (Jackson told me to wait a week to make an appointment). I saw multiple people with masks on their chin, they didnt offer my son a mask who was bleeding after trauma, it took them 45 minutes to check him in (the room was empty) while he was bleeding from the face and clearly in pain. As we waited in the room for multiple hours the entire staff was out with their feet literally on the desk talking and cutting up. Probably the worst hospital Ive been to in 25 years. Avoid it. If youre Googling a hospital with an emergency and its NOT life threatening I would try to go the next closest hospital and only come here if absolutely necessary.

It seems that I’ve been here all day now my back has started hurting and I have A excruciating headache it’s one of the worst hospital visits I’ve had. It’s seems like you have to be dying or close to it to matter to the nurse or doctors. They not one the same page because 3 different doctors came to tell me the same thing but nun of them gave me anything to help the situation. I came at 2 and I didn’t leave until 11 and they didn’t give me anything to help while I was there I say there crying because I really don’t feel good and so it like at this point I would rather treat myself at home than to go to a different hospital because I’ve wasted my whole day to come and go with more problems than I came in with. I’ve sat there watch people get checked in the er and leave, they came in after me so what the big deal

It is sad to see the poor care provided by Jackson regarding the COVID vaccine, I managed to get the appointment on February 27 at 1:30 pm for people over 55 with pre-existing conditions, I present myself with all the documents in order Only that the The result of the pulmonary analysis was dated in September 2018. The lady very drastically DENIED THE VACCINE, for the date. My question is: With a recent date in the analysis, does the disease disappear? and thus deny the vaccine?

I went to the emergency room at 2 pm i got there and i was put in a waiting area, while i was in the waiting area i got picked up to get my test done and they sent me back to the same waiting room, 10 hours later, shift change of staff, and i was still in the same waiting room, with pain, with no bed, and if you have no bed then no doctor comes talk to you even if they got all the test done and know whats wrong with you. Having to wait for a bed and going to the new staff asking to see when will i get a bed and them being completely clueless after giving them my name and info or just simply being rude. Its sad to get this type of behavior from healthcare professionals in situations people go because they have an emergency and having pain, its not fair to be treated like that when we choose that jackson hospital thinking they would be able to help, instead i had to walk away after 10-11 hours waiting for a bed and be seen by a doctor to having to go to another hospital where they took me seriously. I had always had the best impression of Jackson hospital, but after this visit i cannot say the same for the emergency room. The emergency room including cleaning staff would sure benefit from having a seminar on how to treat patients in private (not a waiting room) and basically how to treat patients in general from attitude, to discrimination, to compassion.I would like to speak to someone regarding this visit honestly. Im very upset i had to go to another hospital to get treated. When all my history has been in Jackson hospital

It was like I was a dead meat.

I have a very mixed review and I need to explain why. First, I want to thank Drs. D’Urso, Ribe, Panakos, and Osinski for taking such good care of me in the ER. Even though I was in the ER for the entire night shift and much of the following morning/day shift (being why there were multiple doctors involved), these doctors did all that they could to try to help control my pain, try to get my shoulder back into socket (It was dislocated), were caring and compassionate for me and for my medical needs, and got ortho involved when they were unable to successfully relocate my shoulder. However, once I was admitted, the upstairs floor staff did a horrendous job and took hours (literally) before answering my call lights, often avoided/refused to control my pain, yanked on my shoulder repeatedly, causing worse pain and not fixing my shoulder. Dr. Trapana in particular was the worst doctor EVER, pulled at my shoulder to try and put it in a position that it wouldn’t move to because dislocated shoulders don’t move, caused a ton of pain repeatedly to me, and seemed very incompetent at his job. If I ever have to go back to the ED, I’m so thankful for the ED’s staff and compassion, but if I ever need to be admitted again, at that point I will force them to transfer me to a different hospital to be admitted to so that past admission, I also get actual adequate care.

Well each experience is going to be different, that being said. This past Friday I came in with heart problems and breathing problems. I have had CHF for 10 years. The last two years my valve has gotten progressively worse to the point where I am, 3 to 5 minutes doing anything light, walking up stairs, playing with the grandkids, cleaning out my truck made me tired and exhausted. Eventually all tests lead 2 proving and showing the mitral valve had become a cauterized and was no longer allowing fluid to leak from the bottom . New photos and videos Prove it was leaking from everywhere ! I saw it myself. So we move on that was Friday, the surgery was set up and done on the following Wednesday replacing the damaged valve. Serious business. operation was a success. Anybody who knows this procedure knows there are two types of valves. I chose the flesh valve. AKA Pig. In the ICU, trying to recover ASAP. So I can have a better quality of life. Some things you dont know until you come to a place like the ICU. Lights are bright here they need to see. It gets super cold here, to keep down the germs and other reasons. You cannot have visitors no matter what. So communication is key to your family and friends through your cell phone. Bring your charger, in case they keep you. Another thing I hadnt factored in, is change of clothes meaning underwear. Who wants to be naked when youre trying to survive? They will allow you to wear underwear after your recovery in the ICU if you have it. Another thing to consider is everything is cold, they have warming blankets thank God. And the staff is super knowledgeable and helpful. There wasnt one thing signed to me who wasnt caring loving and hes knowledgeable with why theyre doing what theyre doing. Alright ask a lot of questions. Im ecstatic to find out I am being moved from ICU area. To the 9th floor. Hallelujah its what I have to say. I thank the Lord for allowing the doctors working through them theyre knowledgeable educations can changing peoples lives for the better helping people. Making a difference one person at a time.DUCES!!! OUTTA DA I C U. After super bowl sunday.. Id recommend jackson hospital north .heart specialist to all.

Do not go to the ER here. It is the worst possible place to take a loved one going through a tough time with their health. I took my family here and understandably they did not let me enter with him due to Covid. You would think the nurses would treat patients with compassion and be helpful. Instead they had horrible attitudes and whenever he asked for something they were super rude and refused. He waited over four hours in the room and they did not even give him an IV for dehydration due to excessive vomiting. He got tired of waiting around and not receiving care so he kindly asked his doctor for discharge papers and she asked one of the nurses to please do it quickly to which the nurse replied “ugh, he can wait” mind you she was not doing anything else at that moment. The doctor looked embarrassed at the nurses attitude but it seems this is just the culture at this ER so the doctor did not go against the nurse. I keep seeing several reviews where people also say to avoid this ER at all cost to which the hospital staff replies something along the lines of “sorry for your experience please contact us at....” how about you stop saying sorry and DO BETTER. People trust you with their health and you guys do not take it seriously. This hospital is a poor excuse for healthcare and it it’s disgusting how you guys treat people who come in when they are going through possibly the worst time in their lives. Seriously, DO BETTER. If you are really sorry then fix the problem and provide better care. Fire all the incompetent nurses with nasty attitudes and whoever is managing this tragic excuse for an ER. Get someone from your staff to go in undercover and pretend to be a patient and they will report to you the same thing all these other patients with bad reviews are reporting. If you need healthcare for you or a loved one and you want kind people to take care of them go to Mount Sinai. There is a huge contrast in how they treat patients at Mount Sinai. If the ER at Jackson ever gets sued and or shutdown I will only be surprised it did not happen sooner.

For me personally, I feel like the doctors dont do much unless they can get paid from the insurance. My aunt had COVID-19, she didnt get plasma , the second treatment that was needed, and sent her home with the virus. They werent able to cure her and they were refusing more service because the insurance was no longer paying.
