The best rehab team! My mother had a wonderful stay. All staff were attentive. Thank you for everything

My dad Vassili was in this hospital during two months with diagnosis preventative vegetation state. I would like to say thank you all stuff there, the level of care was amazing. Especially thank you Stefany in main lobby, I never saw so positive, understanding, helpful and sensitive person. Big thank you Caprice, Katy and other members of rehabilitation team for their super professionalism. They did their job great 10 from 10 score. Thank you Jorge, respiratory therapist for his support, medical advices and his big human heart. Thank you Dr. Vivaldi and my case manager Yoelkis Rodriguez who were patient towards me. Thank you all members of nurse station for their care.I recommend that hospital to everyone who has such type of problems like our family has.

Staff and administration are amazing. This place is clean well lit and safe. My mother never complained and always says great things about the facility, especially her nurse Martica. Highly would recommend if looking for a rehab facility for your loved one. Marco has gone out of his way to make my mother feel comfortable and at home. Horrible.... the place smells terrible , the room is disgusting 🤮, The TV wasn’t working ok, They were giving my grandpa bad food that he couldn’t even eat, He was taken to Emergency because he wasn’t ok at all, he was worse every day, he wouldn’t open his eyes because he was too weak, NO THERAPY AT ALL..... muy mal todo, asqueroso lugar, horrible............. My grandpa is in intensive care. The doctors said he could have died because he was severely dehydrated.

Very rude staff. Management should limit they staff cell phone use. They seem to care more about texting that taking the patients to the bathroom. Shameful patient care. And the mess in the rooms, and the smell OMG 😩😡😠😭

My grandmother was a patient/long term care “resident” at West Gables and there are not enough good things I can say about this facility. From the administration, particularly Marcos Carrasco, to the nursing staff, we are forever grateful for the care and love you poured into her life for the last few years.

Terrible place!!!There is no communication between the personnel of the different areas of the facility, they do not comply with what they agree with the Caregivers. Total insensitivity towards patients and relatives. My 91-year-old mother remained unattended and urinated for several hours without being changed, when attention was drawn to it there was total indifference on the part of the medical personnel who attended to her; on top of that I never known the treatment and therapies indicated by doctors; and I have requested the medical records, and I did not received them. I do not recommend this facility, nor the creepy floor 3. By the way, I was forced to mark one STAR on this review.

Yikes my aunt is on her way there. I cant imagine what her stay will be like. I am a bit concerned after reading all the posts from family and patients. Hoping we have a successful healing experience if not, I will be emailing all the politicians and community activists for support.They better answer the phone when my parents call.

Horrible... My elderly family member has been there for 4 days and has received NO rehab. Just yesterday, therapist walks in notices he had pooped and tells him sorry....I will return once theyve cleaned up and changed you. BUT THE THERAPIST NEVER RETURNED. Today, I called presented our situation and was told by supervisor Efrain that he will call me back. I told him that the center better not bill Medicare for therapy he hasnt received or I will be forced to report as fraud. When I called yesterday I was told he would be entitled to physical therapy the 1st weekend of his stay... Today Im advised by Efrain he will not receive therapy.

My dad came here after being diagnosed with GBS. He says everyone was very nice, however, he did not like the food from here.

My grandmother was here after a stroke and the level of care has been amazing. The nurses and assistants were very loving, the therapists were all very thorough, knowledgeable and overall great. The hospital is also very clean. I would definitely recommend them!

I want to thank all the staff that helped me during my surgery. It was a nerve wrecking experience but they made me feel more comfortable. Pamela and Justine were some of the nurses that were so nice to me. As well as, all the doctors that worked with Dr. Daneshgar were very comforting as well.Thank you!

HorribleYou are putting your loved ones lives at risk admitting them to this “Third World” facilityPatients had to be removed from room because of toilet over flow, also when using shower water flowed into room.If contacting by phone you had better speak Spanish or multiple misdirected callsIf a patient doesn’t speak English they are at risk, I had to ask a bilingual family member call and prevent the injection of a previously administered drug.A senior staff member said “we are not prepared to care for ( my family member)”I had to demand removal and transfer back to the hospital.

We can say that it has been one of our best experiences with Tania, at West Gables Rehab.She is very interested in each of her patients, good listener, answering all questions. My father went here following a stroke, and I cannot express how despicable the administration and supervisors here seem to be. I would advise to steer clear of this facility.I told them they need to call me for any changes in my father’s condition, and they did not. They didn’t even tell me he had heart failure, type II diabetes, chronic kidney disease, or the multiple times he developed pneumonia under their care. He even became septic at one point. The ONLY reason I knew this is because I asked for medical records, which they first refused to give until after discharge. They were going to discharge him to home without telling me these conditions. The case manager even told my family that my dad was on oxygen because he wanted to be, huge red flag. Are they giving patients medications they shouldn’t be, or simply because an incapacitated patient asks for it?There are too many violations of patients rights to count. Someone even signed important documents AS my father. They also lied and said they didn’t have social workers several times, only to find out much later that they did. We could’ve really used their help but the case worker left many things up to me to find out.Most recently a doctor who didn’t even visit my father called and said they need to do a CTscan at another hospital. Then that hospital calls me and says he has fracture because of a fall at west gables AND he has pneumonia. Now west gables discharged him and won’t readmit. I find it to be an absolutely horrible place that only seems ok until you realize what they’re doing. I don’t recommend anyone go here. They are currently under investigation even.These are just A FEW of the issues. I’ve found them to be obstructive, uncooperative, secretive, and highly suspicious, and I believe they are putting patients’ lives at risk based on my experience with them. Would you risk it?Some of the people I’ve found it extremely difficult to work with:Natasha, I think she is the compliance or quality control supervisorWalter, the CEOFrank, the case manager who is not an RN nor social workerLucia, the nursing supervisorTheir indifferent attitude to the multitude of issues we were having with their facility is the most upsetting thing of all. My family has been through so much heartbreak, sadness, and grief due to how this facility treated us. I don’t wish this experience on anybody.

This place is absolutely terrible how they treat there patients my grandmother was there for 18 days and not a single person wanted to help her , they would get into big fights with her for no reason definitely not recommend it’s like walking into a Devil den

My mother was admitted to West Gables after her stroke three weeks ago. What an Amazing experience. The medical staff, her social worker, the therapist personnel , the security guard who knew my name after couple days visiting my mom were simply Wonderful. Her patient care assistant, Isabel who had a special way to put a smile on my mom face every morning. Every hour, she paid her a visit , making sure that she had everything that she needed. And at the end of her shift, a buenas noches to us.A special thank to her social worker. She is a caring , compassionate lady .From the button of our heart, we thank you for taking good care of our mother.

My experience in the hospital was excellent, I stayed 10 days. The nursing staff, the cleaning staff, the nurses assistant, the therapists, the food, I have no complaints from the hospital. And I would recommend to anyone who needs rehabilitation services at this 100% hospital.

A wonderful experience. The personnel is professional and encouraging. Everyone motivates you all the time to do better. The rooms are incredible comfortable and clean. It was a great experience and my mental and physical health is now top shape.

This place is amazing! Super clean, the Doctors, Nurses, and staff have a tremendous willingness attitude. The event planner outdoes herself, with each and every special events she plans. I am one that is extremely grateful for the treatment that the closes person in my life is receiving, which is my father.

I arrived nearly completely paralyzed from Guillain Barre and walked out 5 weeks later. I was treated with respect and kindness by the staff at all times. Kudos to Christian, Franklin, Eileen, Ingrid, Jimmy, Shan, Stephanie, Rachel, Manny, Margarita, and whoever I inadvertently missed. These folks are true professionals. Im very glad i went to West Gables.

West Gables Rehsb hospital is not place you want to have to go to but if you need the therapy they provide its a Class A institution. My family and I are very happy with the service, the attention and especially the treatment. They do a fantastic job. I recommend it highly.

I can recommend this place to anyone because I know if I had only been here sooner and longer I would’ve been walking in no time a long time ago! I’m here to tell you if you really want therapy then you should make it your business to have your face in the place because at West Gables Rehabilitation Hospital they really go the extra mile. This place is a disaster!! They seldom answer the phone. When they do answer, they dont have any professionalism and have the security guards answering the phones. When you finally get a hold of someone, they tell you to call back because they are busy. What a headache!

My father was in this facility and I was appalled at the conditions in the bathrooms as well as the rooms. Black Mold on shower floors and walls and the seat they use to sit patients in to shower them. The floors are dirty and the A/C units are old and smell muggy. This is disgusting and unsanitary. No one should be living under these conditions especially patients trying to recover. Absolutely unacceptable!

My Dad had a Massive Heart Attack. We were not sure if he would make it. See he is 91 years old. Dad spent 10 days at South Miami Hispital.Then he was transferred to West Gables Rehabilitation, and the staff made my Dad be himself again.They provided physical therapy, occupational Therapy and Speech therapy. Each individual is a professional and most of all human. They took care of my Dad like he was part of the family.They brought him back to life and made him smile again. I thank God and I thank everyone associated with West Gables Rehabilitation Hospital.There are real Angels working there. God Bless you all.

Hello Im with my daugther at the reahbilition cause she had surgery at the batisp Kendal and she needs reahbilition, for two weeks aperson from westgable went to see us first at batisp beforadmiting my daughter at reahbilition she said they wore goin to give us a private room never happen I had isue with one of the nurse in first floor my duagther is desable. She took her to theredroom never put the brake on the wheel chair the 1time and the second time when she took her to the rest room tooktake her ashower she ddind puttje luck on the chair to bath her or the wheelchair and itell her twice and she telling me when I were do I leave like for me to go home when Im with my daugther since the first day on believe able shot as hospital the only good there is the food and some nursethats it

Stayed 7 days in rehab due to total hip replacement in August, 2015. I received physical and occupational therapy every day and was very happy with the results. The room was ample and kept very clean by the housekeepers. The nurses and CNAs were friendly and attended to my needs promptly.Food was comparable to hospital food and the dietitian was helpful when it came to options from the kitchen.Definitely recommend this facility for rehabilitation and a speedy recovery.

I have spent some time observing in the outpatient physical therapy department and can say, with no doubt, that this hospital takes great care of their patients. They follow all sanitary requirements, unlike other clinics I have previously done observation at. The staff is dedicated to their patients at a personal level, they are not just a number and a paycheck, and make a great effort to assure patients feel dignified and at home.If I ever had the need for physical therapy I would, with no doubt, come to this hospital!

I myself was an inpatient here a year ago, and I was treated so well that I insisted this was the only game in town when my husband needed inpatient rehab. West Gables did not disappoint me! From dietary to nursing to therapy, his care was superb. I will ALWAYS recommend West Gables Rehabilitation Hospital!

((George Perez)) answers the phone and stays quiet. After a few seconds his greeting is ((Escucho Hablé in a horrible one)). Also the nurse on 3rd floor did not get her name hangar up the phone and refused information of my grandmother.

I stayed in WGRH for 02 weeks, the therapy team is very good and knowledgeable. I recommend this place without any doubt.

The care here at West Gables is better then we could have hoped for. From the Doctors to Therapist to the CNAs have been the very best! It is a warm, loving, family feel here! Would recommend this place to anyone.

The best Rehab Hospital I have been in. Everything was wonderful. The therapists were good ,the treatment was excellent and the food excellent.

This facility could use a face lift. Rooms are all old and in need of repairs, walls have patches and the doors are missing pieces due to wheelchairs being bumped into them constantly. The acute care areas in the first and second floors have better care and the staff is mostly friendly, but need to learn more English.The third floor is not an easy transition for the patient or the family. Rooms are very bare and furniture is very old and in need of replacing. Too soon to say anything about the staff except that so far the one nurse (Gaby) and the assistant (Ricardo) were very professional and nice. Please upgrade this building!!

Im not ready for this place but my uncle Rolando Pena is. And I got it say that the staff are like family and good looking. I thought I was in a movie cast when I saw the nurses!!! Thanks Yannelis, Ada and the rest. I even saw a 1976 Malibu classic just like the one i had in the parking lot!!

The service was very poor, they had no mercy for my sister that had a stroke. They used all her Medicare paid and after through my sister to another facility like a dog. This was done without proper documentation saying they got a verbal approval by phone. In my opinion they are thief of the medical system. Using all her Medicare days. Knowing she would not have place to go and suggested to the family to put her in a homeless shelter. I could not believe a professional person name Edurdo Bustillo would treat the patients family this way. They say that the social worker had done the correct job. A social worker working for the facility will not do what is in my sister best interest. The will only do the best for the employer. This social worker are not state appointed so there for they have no social workers. The bottom line if the state dont start looking out for facility of this type the more Medicaid will pay and the less service will be given to the people in need.

Dont send your loved one here,, I stayed here for 7 weeks,, got nepnemnoa twice,, stomach virus 2 times,, the medical staff incompetent,, couldnt participate in physical therapy due to the fact I had issue after another that they could not control, plus worse of all being that they couldnt cure my issues they sent me to a worse place larkLa hopsital. They actually took care of me better than west cables,, the physical therapy I did get the therapists Jessica and nina always was more concerned about the time and phones!!!Im sorry tell tell this experience was a failure

I would not recommend this place. My family and I are so dissatisfied with these services, there is non-professional nursing & assistance. There was a lot of commotion in the hallways. When we got there, our room wasnt ready. We got there at 8:00 oclock in the morning, we had to wait 3 hours until they could give my husband his medicine. Then we needed to do a scan on my husband who had suffered a stroke 10 days ago. They took him to the hospital across the street in his wheelchair & later that day, they didnt want to do the scan on him because there was nobody who could put him on the bed. I would give more details of the terrible experiance that we had in this hospital but I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOSPITAL FOR YOUR FAMILY.

I would not recommend this place. My family and I are so dissatisfied with the nursing, the case managers, the system in general. My mother was there for 12days and she didnt even have 20% flexibility in her knee. She had a total knee replacement. They didnt know whether to keep on or off her knee immobilizer,they kept saying they couldnt talk to anyone in the doctors day they decided at a so called conference more like a socialist committee that she had made no progress and that she was being transfered to a nursing home, the same morning her doctor gave them permission to put full weight on her leg. They dont let you see her doing sister went to see through a window to see what they did at therapy and she was sitting ALL alone in the middle of the room until someone came and told my sister to leave that she was not allowed to be watching?? Really? I WONDER WHY?? The biggest waste of time for any poor family wishing the best for their loved ones. A JOKE.

My Mom was referred to this center and the experience was a nightmare! My Mom is insulin dependent and she almost falls into a diabetic comma by the nurses neglect. They dont know what are they doing...my Mom cant eat greasy food because the high cholesterol and they were giving her crocketas.. she suffers high blood pressure and they were giving her very salty food.. the guy who was given the therapyis overwhelmed working with 10 patients at the same time...it is very poor service and quality.. I dont recommend it to anyone.

Worst place I have ever been in. They refused to let my father leave I had to threaten them that I was going to call the police and charged them with kidnaping.

My God Mother was there in June , and she developed severe painful urine induced vaginal and perineal dermatitis because they only changed her depends once a day for 2 weeks, and she was fearful to ask for help. Also, her thyroid function was off, and she was on replacement, and it was not repeated. Her albumin was 2.1 and pre albumin was 4 which is quite critical, and it wasnt addressed or repeated until I strongly requested. It was very difficult to contact her by phone, and even her face sheet had a pseudo person listed as her closest contact, whom she didnt even know. She is 96 and it appeared that they preferred her to be isolated. Then she went to the Health Care Center, from the 2nd floor of the Rehabilitation Hospital, to the 4th and then the 3rd floor and things just got worse. Again isolation, with a phone system that rings both roommates, and whomever picks up first wins, but it so happens that she is demented and cant give a message. Or you are put with a severely demented patient that just screams and moans. The Doctor, never returns a call, even if the family member is also a medical doctor!

West Gables represents the better service known at Miami. Thanks for all.

Wow,this Rehab Hospital is the best,I came here not walking at all,from a 2% walikng and 3 weeks later almost back to a 100% normal..the very specific and personalized program for my recovery,just worked exactly as designed and now I can control my pain and WALK again, It is imposible to describe and express with words my happiness,to give thanks to Wedt Gables rehab and Hospital for what the magnificent job rhey done to get me back on my feet agsin.fmy almost 100% recuperation has been a perfect combination of a personalized treatment..Every menber at West Gables had helped me to recuperste fast and safe,from Miguel at the kitchen staff to visited me and explained the great & variety choices menu,to the room cleaning people..This my second stay at West Gales for a terible lower back problem and in both ocations they gave me a 100% excellent and quality service. Horrible I wouldnt recommend this to ANYONE!!! the DIRECTOR of the Hopital by the name of WALTER kicked out my mother, my son, and I because we were in the hallway looking for her doctors office( who was leaving in an hour). When we asked to help us, he just said to go to the waiting room while knowing that wasnt going were we needed to be. When I asked where is the doctor office we were looking for he didnt even know the doctor. This so called director couldnt even direct us to the location and was quick to want to kick us out of the building. My mother has the shingles and its very painful for her. She needed to see the doctor before he left. This guys was extremely disrespectful and has horrible customer service skills he isnt qualified to direct a hospital when he cant even point to the right direction.

Midalys AND the entire are the best

I Ana de la Victoria decided to choose West Gables Rehabilitation for the following reason:The service, friendliness,cleanliness and delicate in addition to the food was excellent. This rehabilitation Hospital is excecellent in all areas. It has helped me in my recovery. In the past six years my mother attended this Rehab and many friends recommended this location.. I will definitely referr patients to this iocation. Now I can say I can walk with my walker but still need some guidance but I will succeed since the major was all done by your excellent staff.

The staff including all the cnas ,nurses, aides and doctors are superb!!! Also the therapists--- occupational and physical just dowonders with the sometimes difficult patients.

Beyond grateful for the care my mother Nola Castellano, has received these two past weeks at this rehabilitation hospital. Special thanks to Dr. Vargas, Dr. Sotolongo, Dr. Yamagami, RN case manager Grace Soriano (whom my mom called muñeca) all the floor/room staff nurses like Norlys, and all the ones that took care of her and the important rehab therapy team. OT Jaqueline Achon, Daniel, Rey E. Martin Otero, and many more that helped her and brought her back to life. I highly recommend this facility for you or your love ones rehabilitation needs. Thank you all for the amazing care that my mother received!

Mr. Carrasco,Your name was given to me by a member of West Gables Rehab Center. My mother chose this location based on the reputation of the quality of care and food. Unfortunately, my mother did not receive quality of care that could be considered as the minimal level of care and the food was far from being acceptable. For the entire nine days that my mother was at the center, food was served cold including her coffee and cooked with an excessive amount of grease. There was no menu to select from and breakfast , lunch and dinner trays were dropped off on the table and the personnel would not even bother to roll it to the bed where my mother was recuperating from a total knee replacement.Let me start by first stating that the center is understaffed and the current personnel is over worked and poorly trained. All you have to do is observe the daily interaction of the personnel with the patients and you will see the personnel working reactively ( when they can’t ignore any longer the call of the patients - they reluctantly will assist) and in most instances patients’ needs and request are ignored. One day, a patient pulled the fire alarm to get assistance because he had been trying for over 2 hours. Personnel is poorly trained and have no filter when speaking with patients. Let me share with you a comment made to my mother by the individual that came in at 7a.m. one day, my mother requested to be assisted to the bathroom. The individual proceeded to say, “Why did you wait until I started working to ask to go – why didn’t you ask the person that was on duty before I started?” My mother replied, I did not need to go before you started. Linen and sheets were not changed or washed and the bathroom was never cleaned during her nine days. The furniture in all the rooms are in dismal condition.The most incompetent person is the social worker that handled my mother’s case- you would expect that she would understand the protocol /procedure and communication that is required – instead I was told that I should call and make my own arrangements. I’m not going to do her job! The day my mother was to be released, the social worker informed us that the doctor would visit my mother before signing her release. We waited for 6 hours, finally at 6p.m. I inquire if the doctor would be coming in and I was informed that the doctor had visited other patients and had left and he was never informed to visit my mother. The nurse Sherri Cann, is the only individual that I observed that would take an initiative and care for the patients. Ms. Cann called the doctor and facilitated my mother release over the phone that evening. Ms.Cann also assisted in getting the much needed medical equipment to be delivered after hours to my mother’s house. The social worker cancelled the delivery of the medical equipment without any knowledge if the doctor would release or not.This experience was very disappointing and when asked I will certainly advise to go elsewhere – this center is a dump and should be closed by the state due to its substandard level of service, medical care, lack of supplies and inadequate personnel training . The entire personnel from the top to the cleaning person need to be trained on all aspects of what a rehab center is and most importantly, how to deliver the care expected and learn to communicate in a cordial manner when speaking to patients.Feel free to reach out to me should you need more information. This center reflects a total lack of attention from the top executivesi have to rate at least a star to be able to post. this center is negative 3 stars.

Very good care and rehab techniques to get you going again

Nursing dont speak English what so ever... The doctors treat black people with little to no respect.
