I think this hospital really has an AMAZING medical team. The RNS graciously conducted themselves and went above and beyond to help everyone feel better regardless of who was responsible for that patient. I was in the hallway and saw them taking time to help each other even when there hands were full. I also noticed that no matter peoples attitudes they all did the right thing and to me thats honorable. It took me about 2-4hrs total to get discharged I also think that was amazing considering the amount of patients that were coming in none stop. God bless them.

No senior nurses. 90% or more are inexperienced, recent grads. Not wrong. But it leads to mistakes. YOU NEED THOSE SENIORS THAT CAN LEAD . More 1 🌟 reviews than 5. Someone needs to summarize this and tackle the top 2 or 3 reasons that get 1 star. You cant teach empathy, compassion, but you can highlight it. People are there because they have medical issues. Reassure them they will get best service, and they will get better, you can only do that by leading with examples.

Nice new hospital with clean rooms but WARNING, without insurance your bill will be incredibly high as usual because our healthcare is never affordable! I was charged $440 when I went to the ER and all they did was put glue on my finger to seal it, not even one stitch. Tip: Always ask for an itemized bill to make sure they aren’t overcharging you.

I had surgery on 7/27, and I must say I had great treatment from the nursing staff. My nurse in pre op. - Mediah, was especially great. She took the time to let me know step-by-step what was going on and what each medication I was administered was for. Once in my room, my nurses Maryann, Saba and Maria were also great. I was very happy with my experience at this hospital.

I quite like this hospital and I am pretty much thankful with all the staff there. Only issue they should be aware of is COORDINATION.How come I got a call from the branch itself to schedule a study for today and after consistently asked for an e-mail or some prior call to be sure of the appointment to which they told me it was not required, here at the hospital I have AN HOUR waiting with no possibility of receiving the study because I do not have a verification letter!?My companion called the branch, they have it on the verification department which does not respond the calls after another loooong wait. Please! Verification department and REGISTRATION should be COORDINATED! Pacients do not go to verification department.

My dad was sent to the West Kendall ER after fainting and throwing up. He’s 87 years old. Our experience was extremely poor. The hospital is filled with employees talking away and doing something on the computer ( how much data input is needed??!!!) but no one is there for the actual patient. Basic needs like hooking them back up after they come back form a procedure or taking a urine sample after it sitting in the room can take 3 hours but the data entry people continue to click away. After he was admitted, it took them 2 hours to see the first nurse.West Kendall Hospital has to reconsider costumer service and worry less about paper trail and not sure what else. Not sure exactly what is expected of employees and what their roles are, but being there for the patient does not seem to be the priority. My dad felt he was being ignored and not attended to. When someone did approach him after I would have to track someone down, they seemed bothered and unsympathetic. What a disappointment!!!!

My brother went in for surgery and the security guard at the main entrance asked my brother, my mom, and myself if we were vaccinated. Not sure why and not sure if that’s even legal. Then asked if we had done a covid test. Not sure why if my mom and I are not going into surgery. Then asked if we had fever and btw they have a temperature reading at the entrance. Clown show. I’ll definitely be calling to file a complaint. No one should ask anyone if they are vaccinated.

What happened to this place? My brother came in Sunday at 2:00 am, 3 days ago and we are still being held in the emergency department. No bathroom for him to shower no chair for a companion to rest. Don’t understand how in three days there can be not one bed available. The nursing staff has been wonderful but the overall quality and care of the hospital has definitely seen a decline over the years. Next time I would consider heading elsewhere with a family member.

Of course we bought food at the cafeteria. Then and most important.. staff has barely came into our room.. we asked for medicine for headache and they gave it after 3 hours because we complain. So far he has received the worst attention in a hospital in his entire life.. it’s like nobody care.. we are very disappointed and never coming back here

The reason my family and I are doing okay right now is because of Demi Nardo, RN. I was stuck in the ER for 7 days -- it was a rough experience, as the hospital is slammed with Covid patients and there is little room to accommodate. But, Demi really went above and beyond to make sure I was able to safely be dismissed from the hospital and I am now doing great. Leopoldine G. also deserves an honorable mention, as she took great care of me. Things are really tough right now in the hospitals, but the nurses really step up to the plate despite this. Thank you so much for everything you did for me, Demi and Leopoldine -- Ill never forget it!

The guard at the entrance checks the temperature of employees who went out to lunch. In fact, he checks the temperature of the employees who carry patients to their cars! This thoughtless measure turns off patients. It’s not about being extra careful when those carrying the virus may not have signs of infection. I needed to help my 100 year old mother and 80 year old sister pack to bring my mom home and the hospital refused to allow me to go up and help the because they have a “one visitor at a time” policy. Clearly I am not visiting but helping them pack and carry stuff. Poor administration policy for this hospital.Michelle, from Customer Satisfaction showed me honest concern and did exactly what she could to help....take the luggage up to my family. I appreciated her very much. Still, things need to change from management.

Excellent service The ER Doctors and PA, they were very attentive and nice. Martha was my first nurse and I felt like she truly cared, she spent time explaining in detail and educating me on my condition. I was admitted and taken very well care of up on the fourth floor. Where they replaced my IV to my other arm because I was experiencing pain.I can’t remember the second nurse in the ER but she took my blood pressure on top of my IV and it was incredibly painful. When I told her I was in pain she press further on the area where the IV was with her hand which wasn’t nice. Upon telling and questioning other nursing of what happened and the lingering pain, I received shocked reactions. Please make sure she doesn’t do this to others. Thank you 🙏🏽Over all I’m very pleased with my experience!

My first child was delivered at this hospital two weeks ago. I honestly have no complaints about the care my newborn and I received. The staff was extremely attentive and knowledgeable. The supervisors of each department also regularly came by the room to get feedback and see if anything was needed. As for the Delivery/Maternity rooms I was put in, they were extremely spacious and clean. This is not my husband’s first child and when comparing this experience to that of his other children, this hospital exceeded his expectations.A huge “thank you” to the labor/delivery nurses who took care of me, Ansee and Smitha. These ladies are very skilled and look passionate about what they do. They were extremely patient and caring and made the whole process so much easier for me.Another “thank you” is due to Elizabeth, the young nurse who we were so fortunate to have during one of the evenings. She truly goes above and beyond for her patients and is very knowledgeable on newborn care.Overall, I would recommend this Hospital and would return for childbirth in the future.

I thought Baptist had better care than the one my wife received. It’s a beautiful hospital that looks like a hotel, but the care is terrible. The nurses are constantly on their cellular phones and they do not attend to the patient’s needs. My wife went in for the second time within a week period For COVID-19 pneumonia. On her second visit her chest x-ray showed the pneumonia had advanced. She was discharged without any antibiotics or without any change in her medications. The doctor discharged her 15 minutes before his shift was over.Apparently he needed to discharge as many patients as he can before he left. My wife came home and woke up the following morning with high fever and super sick. I had to take her to a non-Baptist facility where she was treated for her sickness as she should have at Baptist.Long story short to not take your love ones to any of the Baptist facilities. They have little kids that have just graduated from medical school and nursing school playing around with her phones.

I want to start by saying this hospital is NOT THE PLACE TO GO IF YOU OR A LOVED ONE HAS COVID!!My families experience with the case of my father due to covid was DISAPPOINTING. At first it seemed like it was the right place to go since this hospital has a good reputation. But We have never regretted a decision like this in our life.I want to thank all the staff that were helpful and actually went out of their way to give my dad and us comfort. However there were certain nurses who were not helpful at all. One nurse in particular who stood out from the rest and not in a good way. “DELIA” who works in the ICU department. The women has no sympathy whatsoever..(unfortunately she had to be the one taking care of my father for the longest time. For three weeks starting January 16 -not sure exact day )she even went out of her way to tell my sister in law to tell the family “I KNOW YOURE A FAMILY OF FAITH BUT COULD YOU CONVINCE THEM TO GIVE UP FAITH THAT HE COULD GET BETTER”.... Even until his last day when we go see my father she comes and tells us after my father passed away “I will definitely not be putting my parents in intubation if they get covid”. ..like seriously?Even family members who work in the medical field and who were authorized to ask her questions thought she was rude and seemed like she didn’t like her job. So it wasn’t just us.Many times we had to hold our tongue to not tell her she was a B.... JUST because she was taking care of my father.I understand that the staff is facing very stressful times but these nurses that you guys are hiring need to realize that they’re dealing with human beings who have families and who care for their love one.Don’t get me wrong , some were very sweet and helpful but they were only a few. (Alejandra, Lorenzo, Melanie, and Francisco and Madeline from patient relations and two more who we dont remember their name... since they were frequently changing nurses every day for both day and night)Apart from that, WE had to be the ones behind trying to figure out what was happening with my father. Barely did the nurses or doctors contact us to give us updates. The doctors would mostly contact us to give us bad news. And only until the end would they frequently contact us more but it was when it was getting worse for my dad. These doctors give you no hope whatsoever..and were all very negative.Again, I understand it’s tough times but this staff needs to put themselves in our shoes and treat us the way they’d like a family member or even themselves to be treated. Please if you have a loved one who is fighting Covid please do not go to this hospital. A nurse told us herself they have had only two patients come out of they’re hospital who were fighting with covid (Throughout the whole COVID building).Unfortunately after two months fighting my father passed away on February 23rd. After, transferring from the emergency to the fourth floor and in little time ending up in ICU fighting for his life.Side note: This hospital does not like to do “plasma”..they told my dad they were going to do the treatment on him but because he wasn’t “critical” enough they didn’t do it instead they went through with two other treatments , one being a treatment we weren’t aware of he had received. He has two friends who received the plasma treatment and are well and alive. In conclusion,I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOSPITAL. DISAPPOINTING.I give it two stars because of the process of maintaining my dad groomed and clean, and for the sweet nurses who actually seemed like they enjoyed helping people.

The rescue took my 89 year old grand mother to the ER who had fainted with a low blood pressure at home. After arrival vital signs were taken and initial assessment started. All exams were done quickly ; however , since our arrival I asked the nurse to send someone to help me change my grandmother’s pamper as she has incontinence and I could not change her at home due to the incident. She said “ we do not have personnel to assist you with that and I have other patients to help; did you bring her pamper because I do not have either. ” I replied yes, I brought everything we need then she replied “ you should change her”At that point I was frustrated first because how is it that an ER does not have employees assigned to assist ? I ended up waiting an hour for the nurse to return to our room and at that point I implored her to help me because I could not move my grandmother. The return of her visit had been to take urine sample. My grandmother got very upset because did not feel comfortable with the procedure. I asked the nurse to ask the doctor if it was necessary to do the exam because my grandmother was agitated. She came back and said “ ok no urine sample” .Papers were ready for my grandmothers discharge when her blood pressure suddenly dropped down again. I asked “ I am going home but I came for this reason and I see her blood pressure is still the same as when we came”The nurse replied “ this is your fault you should have let the urine test to be done” At that point I asked to talk to the doctor and my conversation was over with this nurse whose name was Adriana. Very unprofessional response and obviously not well educated.Very sad to be leaving a negative review about Baptist Hospital when I advocate to be the best in Miami Dade. Very disappointed at their services in the ER. Hopefully they improve or we will need to find an alternative hospital close home.

At 12 the dr came in to the room to see her and order an xray and blood test. She didn’t see the dr again. They released her at 3 am with neumonia diagnosis. They did not provide any kind of medication nor iv. This is really unacceptable, you are working with human beings. The ER was empty, so no excuse to have someone there for 6 hours with a really bad cough and not even provide an aerosol or any kind of medication. I am very disappointed and frustrated for that service because no one goes to the dr for fun. This is no joke. I give you 1 star because i have no option to give 0 star to your service.

I cannot express the horrible and terrible experience at West Baptist Hospital, in every way. My father entered the emergency room with abdominal distention and constipation, he came out with a double fracture of his right leg. Even though such a difficult situation is being experienced with COVID, very few nursing personnel followed the hygiene as it should be followed even without COVID. I noticed a disorganized staff, without hygiene and without concern, My father was only changed once every 24 hours and that despite the fact that we were there 24/7, the urine was collected in the container that they bathed the patient and had not been right there they were using it for the bathroom, on one of the occasions when the urine was collected, the nurse assistant put the lid on the container and put it on the telephone table and when I told her that I was going to contaminate it, she replied that she was going to clean it with a wipes and he did so, and of course they had to later collect another sample because the previous one had a problem. On December 20, my father was transferred by the rescue to Baptist West Kendall due to constipation and abdominal distention. My husband and I went to the hospital at the same moment, the hospital accepted only one visitor and I waited outside. My dad was checked by the doctor and I was contacted by him. The doctor explained to me that he had to perform MRI to find out the cause of the distension. Before performing the MRI, a nurse changed the urine catheter without any problems. After having performed the MRI, I was contacted by the doctor explaining the cause of the abdominal distension, (impacted stool), at no time was there a right leg fracture. My father was admitted and the next day when the proctologist checks him before performing the checkup, he notices something strange in his right leg, he immediately asks for x-rays without being able to evaluate it. The first fracture was confirmed, and the Orthopedic immediately came to the room to tell me that he needed surgery and possibly they would do it the next day, I explained to the doctor that my fathers health conditions did not stand up to surgery, and his answer was: anyone can die. I told the doctor to give me another solution and he simply told me to grab a pillow and put it there, I asked him to show me the way and he could not even show me, he just told me Im going to do something special for your dad. After a while, a technician appeared and brought a brace. His pain was intense, they put morphine on him, and his tension lowered a lot. From then on, they administered Tylenol.Later, my dad was visited by Dr. Chandra, an excellent doctor, and asked for more x-rays and a CT scan of the head because he did not know what had happened to my dad. In view of what happened, I did not accept it because I was afraid that something else could happen to him. My father had Alzheimer and his joints were contracted, his legs were always not straight and that they were going to carry out any study of images, my husband always accompanied him to prevent him from stretching his joints but unfortunately, they did not accept my husband. Dr. Chandra sent an X-ray of the knee to be done in the room since it was swelling, and his skin was turning red (I have photos) and the other report for the tibia was confirmed. The day after, another orthopedic doctor from the same team came to my dad’s room and told me that my dad needed surgery and I told him that there was another fracture, and the doctor said that there was only one. That shows me how little care the staff has in checking the patients updated record. Doctor Chandra did not give the clearance for the surgery. My father stopped eating, he was in pain, and we returned home, and his health continued to deteriorate, he could not move as he usually did, he had to continue with morphine and unfortunately, he died on January 14. Very sad to see that you take a loved one to the hospital for one cause and it ends with another worse.

I call 911 and because the coronavirus policy I cant go with him in the ambulance. They asked me by phone if was ok performing the coronavirus test and I told them was ok with us. He was negative.I went after him, when I arrived they haves changed my son pampers with a pediatric one, a little small but I bring his pampers with me. they took care of him, I am very grateful to the hospital and his staff, all of them. My son is 20 years old, but because his condition, he is under the weight and tall of a normal 20 years old patient. they take care of everything. They asked me every time if everything was right with their care. I Highly recommend the hospital and also I am very grateful that they prioritize a Room for My son in the 4 floor South. I stay with my son for almost 5 days/24 hours. His care was spectacular and well done.If you have a family member who need pampers or diapers you must bring them with you unless your lovely one is a pediatric patient. Also I prefer to change my own son rather than other people do it. Is my preference. No complaints, Room was great, Room number 4203. From 11/15 to 11/20.Also they ask the family member if is ok to take urine or stool samples, they ask if is ok with the family taking samples for diagnosis purposes which is fine with me.Thank you Baptist for such compassion and help.Special care and spectacular Nurses, Doctors, and all staff in this hospital.

I currently have my father in critical condition due to covid-19 and I am very sorry not to have taken him out of the hospital before he fell into his current state. The professional care has been disastrous, they have acted after the problem and not to prevent it they have allowed him to be criticized without compassion and the family members do not give them reason, one gets tired of calling for information and the same they hang up the phone that they say no They speak Spanish, the insights that have taken hold of the health professionals who act in my view are incredible and I do not want to generalize as apprentices. Of course, if a family member were inside, things would be different. How sad to see someones life crumble knowing that because of poor decisions made by people to whom you give your life this happens. What a shame, this Hospital lost the reputation it had for me.😢

As a South Florida native, Baptist Health is a household name. Having multiple family members come to West Kendall Baptist Hospital, I have seen many tunes the pure compassion and love for patient care everyone has. From these experiences on the visitors side it has inspired me to join this amazing team as a volunteer and become part of the West Kendall Baptist family.

This place is wonderful! I have been a volunteer here for 3 years and the staff is absolutely amazing and always makes me feel like part of the team. Save your time and go to homestead hospital!! This hospital does not care about you just the money. I was admitted to the hospital recently due to a severe case of an ear infection that was spreading to my neck and head. The nurses were OKAY...They seemed to be 18 year olds who barely knew what they were doing and didnt want to help and kind of rude. I had two nice nurses there however. Anyways, they kept me in the hospital for a day and half saying I desperately needed to see and ENT and they never found one for me. Just a representative who said it was no use keeping me in the hospital because the antibiotics were not going to properly treat the Infection. She also told me my insurance most likely didnt cover it and she would call me back from the hospital. They never called me back and I had to end up finding an ENT an hour away from my house. So what was the point of me going there? They sent me home with ear drops that has done absolutely NOTHING for me. Now Im sitting here with the same problem and now both of my ears are infected! Please have tip top insurance before you go here because they will literally let you DIE if you dont have insurance!!!!P.S. the nurse told me the infection could spread to my brain if I dont get it checked and they still discharged me with ZERO pain meds and I have been in excruciating pain for days. Thanks slot, baptist. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!

I took my 73 year-old mother to ER because she had blood pressure 192/95, and pulse had frequent pauses. At triage she had blood pressure at 180’s, and again in the room, they never monitored blood pressure again. Didn’t give any medication, no vital signs at least every 4 hours. She was exposed to someone in the family with positive COVID 19 and was feeling unwell over the past few days, however, the ER attending refused to order the test. I’m addition he told her that blood pressure at 180’s is not to be treated in a hospital (if she had 300’s they wouldn’t know either because didn’t monitor anything, only when she first arrived to ER room. Right now she is waiting for discharge. How her blood pressure is? Who knows.Very disappointed.

Had to bring my husband to this great hospital, as he was not feeling well, when I arrived the security guard stated I had to leave him and pick him up later. Basically drop off!!!Whoever thought of this procedures was not thinking straight. He is an 80 year old man with high blood pressure, scared. If you don’t want a lot of people in the Emergency room, then limit the people, you don’t put a procedure in place to drop off patients. Also, saw people checking themselves in, in order to stay with patients. Wow!Administration needs to rethink procedures! Unbelievable!!!

I was sent to this ER from a Baptist Urgent Care center since my condition was not improving. The Urgent Care staff was great, the PA really listened to me and seemed concerned about how I was feeling so I thought Id receive the same level of care or better at this hospital. For the most part the visit was fine. My nurse and CT Tech were amazing. They treated me with respect and they were both very skilled. I wish I could say the same about the PA that saw me. When he first walked into my exam room he did introduce himself but while I explained my symptoms he immediately started lowering the stretcher bed without explaining what he was doing. I had it in the upright position for a reason so this startled me. He then frowned and told me I needed to relax before he lowered it down. The tone and facial expression all told me he felt I was being over the top and that worried me because I felt he wasnt going to take me seriously. After his physical exam and all the test results were in he came to discharge me. He walked in, while on his phone, and looked up at me to tell me everything was fine and I could go. I still had my symptoms and I asked him to explain my condition and how long it would take to get better. He kept glancing at his phone in his hand and basically brushed it off by saying Id get better in a few days and left. I was shocked. It felt like he was annoyed and just wanted to get me out so he could go back to talking to whoever it was he on the phone with. I honestly have never felt so disrespected at a health care facility and I never plan on going back.

Never go there, you will receive a wrong diagnostic and be a victim of an outrageous bill. I went there with just a rash, I did not receive any treatment or pills, none type of analysis. The diagnostic was completely wrong and I was billed with almost $800 and they coded me with number 2. You must be ashamed to steal sick people in that way. I asked to put in hold my account because I am working with a Health Advocate, but instead they sent me to collection. They don’t care about the people, of the situation you may have with the covid-19 at Home, the only thing they care is about the money and the profits they received stealing for honest and hardworker people like me.

I am extremely disappointed about this place.Today (11/25/19) I woke up with a serious abdominal pain. It was so strong that I wasnt able to move at all; I got no other option rather than call 911 for help. Once I arrived to their ER, they treat you with such apathy like if they dont care at all (right because they arent the ones suffering acute pain). Once they took me in, it all went down hill from there. The nurse(s) were asking questions in such a way like if they didnt saw that I was under a lot of pain at the level that I was gonna faint for me to process what they were saying to me.But because the tests came back good, the people there didnt knew what I had so they gave me a couple of pills for the pain and decided to let me go with the excuse of theres nothing else that they can do. They left me on my own with still a horrible pain (and by the way, they pills that they gave me are bs). I had to struggle calling the list of referrals that they gave me because...you guessed it, I was under a lot of pain!Bottom line is, if you need to go to an ER, DONT go there. Its a waste of time. Go somewhere else, they dont deserve your time.

I was admitted to the ER from urgent care. There the ER was fast and made me feel welcomed and addressed what was going on. They did several tests and finally gave me what I needed for the pain.they admitted me to the hospital to be under observation and for pain management. Thats when it took a turn. The room was nice and seemed all to nice. Once the nurses changed at 7 am it was much different. The day staff seemed clueless and did not seem to know how to treat me. The pain medicine was not working and I had to wait 4 hours to the next dose. This went on for the next 2 days. Always a different doctor. No one could tell me why Morphine was not working and they would not increase or change it. I was in severe pain and was miserable. I did not feel wanted and a bother to everyone working. It was such a bad time and I could not wait to be discharged. No one checked on me and I jas to be the one on top of them. I was the patient not them. I am very disappointed on how this place ran. Then I was almosr sent home with ibuprofen from the doctor?? Since nothing is working we can send you home he said!?!? What!?! Mind was blown. I will not go back again. Worse experience ever. A couple of months ago I took my daughter to this hospital to adult side since shes over 21 with burning fever and chills she had been feeling bad for 2 weeks with severe bronchitis prior going to the hospital and the Emergency room was kind of crowded but we waited a total of 15 minutes before my daughter got called in and saw a nurse for vitals and right away she was put in a room to see the doctor. Everyone was nice and caring in the E.R several lab tests where done even chest scans and then the news came in from E.R. Doctor that my daughter had to be admitted for a couple of days. About 1:00am she was admitted and taken upstairs in a private very nice and clean room and she stayed for about 5 days. While being admitted I was stunned how caring and compassionate the nurses and staff and doctors where. The cleaning crew makes sure the rooms are cleaned and you get clean towels and linens. My daughter was very well taken care of making sure she got her medications on time and pulmonary team came 3 times a day to give her breathing treatments since she had a very bad bronchitis with fever and chills. Doctors came in every morning it was a team of doctors and everyone was making sure she had her I.V. and fluids and strong antibiotics through her I.V. . Thank god we came in time or this could of gotten worst and turned into Pneumonia. Doctors got concern that she was not eating her meals while in the hospital not even outside meals like Mcdonalds, she just had no appetite, so instead she was given BOOST its just like ENSURE for those that are not eating. Thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff that took good care of my daughter. I have been to this hospital many times to the E.R and have always received awesome professional service. I sure never had a complaint, its been so far an Excellent experience for my daughter and I every time we have been here. Thank you!
