Doing a homebirth was an amazing experience. Crystal is a true professional. We never felt ill-informed or forced into anything we didnt want. When the big day came all I can say is we felt at peace in our home going at it naturally. We didnt have procedures and rules to follow. Crystal lets the mothers instincts guide the birth at the right pace. It was truly a memorable experience.

My first baby was a home birth with Crystal. I didnt have a lot of fear surrounding my pregnancy or labor and birth. Crystal was the perfect midwife for me! I never felt pressured into making decisions, in fact I was never sure what Crystals choice would have been for many decisions I had to make because she was strictly interested in my opinion and decision. However, I always felt well educated on any decisions I was making.For my daughter, I birthed in the water. I knew I wanted to be alone (with my husband) for most of my labor and Crystal respected that, excusing herself without me needing to ask. But she was present and ready to help when pushing came along and I was nearing the end of labor.I never felt like I was in a state of emergency (I wasnt so lucky for my second birth out-of-state with another midwife), and I would recommend Crystal to anyone looking for a calm, personalized home-birth. If you want to feel in control, but supported, Crystal is the midwife for you! I love the positive memories she helped me have of my first birth.

Crystal is absolutely wonderful. She was my midwife for my homebirth in May 2020. Her professionalism, knowledge and accountability during my prenatal care with her allowed me to truly educate myself and be in control of my own pregnancy and birth. My first baby was a home birth, and I was terrified about being unmedicated. Crystal was a real help in being supportive and answering all my questions (and I had a TON!). When I was in labor, she had a balance of being involved for the baby and giving me--the mama--space. I loved how I could control my environment and enjoyed a sense of privacy one doesnt get in the hospital.Payment wasnt a problem, and she was very flexible since we were pretty poor at that time. Crystal helped birth my 3rd child. I came to Crystal looking for a Midwife that was a better fit than my previous midwife, and she met my expectations. She was knowledgeable, passionate about her work, and reasonably priced. I once wrote out a check payment to her in the wrong amount, which would have overdrawn my account. She called me to confirm the error, and we got it straightened out with no harm done and everyone paid. My baby was delivered safely, and she made sure to make sure I was safe too. We’ve moved to another state, otherwise I’d consider using her if I got pregnant again.

Crystal has been with me for 3 perfectly wonderful homebirths, and is currently working with me on my 4th home delivery. She is such a breath a fresh air. While she is knowledgeable, calm, and competent, she also takes the time to understand exactly what you want in a birth and respects your decisions. I like to be left alone a lot during my births, so Crystal was very hands off. She monitored my baby, and watched to see how I was doing, but didnt interfere more than necessary. But she was there right when I needed her as my babies were being born. Definitely the best midwife ever!!

Part way through the birth of our second child, my husband and I decided that we wanted to try midwifery care instead of the traditional OB/hospital model. We interviewed a few midwives and knew immediately when we met Crystal that she was the one for us. She exudes a calm confidence and love of what she does. One of my favorite things about care with Crystal is that she empowered me to make choices for myself and my baby while providing me as much information as she could. Then she supported any decision I felt was best for me and my baby. She approached care as a supporter of me, the mother, and not as a director of care. This was completely the opposite of how marginalized I was made to feel during my experience with an OB/hospital. I felt so special during each prenatal visit (you get a whole hour to talk to your care provider!) and by the time of labor and delivery I felt very confident in myself and my ability to have a special birth experience. Crystal not only understands a womans body and the changes you go through in pregnancy, labor, delivery and postpartum but she has a great way of helping you understand what is going on psycologically and emotionally.We were so happy with our entire experience that Crystal provided midwifery care for our third child as well! Having 3 kids with two under two, Crystal has not only been a wealth of knowledge of pregnancy but also of parenting.Also, Crystal has surrounded herself with amazing women in the birth community who can assist with anything a pregnant mother might need to feel supported and comfortable during pregnancy. This just reinforces my belief that good people attract good people.I just cannot say enough about my amazing experience with her.

Crystal provided us the information we needed to make decisions ourselves. We never felt uncomfortable or pressured to make any decisions that went against our intentions. She allowed me to follow my instincts when it came to a possible hospital transfer when there was a slight variation in my babies heart rate. When she was needed she provided a calm comforting presence during my transition; reaching out for my hand when I felt alone and scared. But she otherwise stayed out of our way when we did not need her. When my baby finally arrived my husband and I truly felt that we had done it ourselves. That I believe is what makes a good midwife. If I were planning on having other children I would not hesitate to have her on out team again.
