I am a relatively new patient to Chesney Dentistry having had two teeth cleaning done. Dr. Gary Chesney had noted a cavity and a bad filling that needed to be replaced and I made an appointment for that work. I arrived on time and was seated in the dentist chair. I heard Dr. Chesney in the bay next to me chatting up a female patient about her recent travels. He went on and on with inane conversation while I waited in the chair for over 20 minutes. He finally finished with that patient and rushed in, apologizing for being late, saying that his last patient was new and he needed to spend time with her. No pleasantries with me, and I dont think he even acknowledged who I was, just an abrupt open your mouth and turn your head. He looked at the work to be done and said that he was not going to use anything to deaden the area (I assumed to make up time he has spent with the last patient). He rushed through the work and declared it was finished and left. I could feel rough edges of the new fillings that irritated my tongue. I asked the dental assistant if the dentist could smooth the filling. After several minutes, Dr. Chesney returned and remarked that he could not believe that he had missed those rough edges. He smoothed out one of them but not the other. He left and I asked the assistant again about the other one. The assistant left to get Dr. Chesney but he was already with another patient and did not return. The assistant did her best to try to smooth the edge and finally got it so that it was barely tolerable. She offered to continue to work on it, but at that point I was fed up and left. I am easy to get along with, but I have never had such rude and sloppy treatment by a medical professional before. I was put off by his gushing chatter with the prior female patient while I waited unnecessarily, and could not believe how rude, unconcerned, and careless he was with my work. My wife and my family will take our business to a professional dentist from now on. Im done with Dr. Gary Chesney and his rude treatment.

We had a great experience at Chesney Dentistry with our kids routine cleaning. My daughter loved her hygienist, Jordan. She taught her how to properly clean around her braces and floss with a waterpik. We highly recommend this dentistry office in Farragut.

My husband was told by another top notch dentist with an elaborate office that he needed a cap & a root canal. He did not think he had a problem so we checked out Dr. Gary Chesney. He has been there twice and and happy to report he has not had any cavities or anything. Interesting! We totally feel comfortable and trust him to take care of our dental needs. This entire office staff are very professional and experienced and you know they are not just working on your teeth just to make money! They are very busy but you always feel valued!

My family and I have been seeing Dr. Chesney for over five years now. His practice is very clean and reputable in what they do. HOWEVER, I am generally displeased with the bedside manner of Dr. Chesney himself. Every single time I have an appointment, he comes to evaluate my teeth before sending me on my way. Every single time for the last 4 years, he has asked me if I had braces and if I am aware that two of my front teeth are jutting forward. Each time, I patiently say yes to both questions. Dr. Chesney, for an establishment as nice as yours, how hard is it to make a note in your patients chart that you have already made them aware of their dental flaws and offered services to repair it? I have been reminded of this cosmetic issue about 15 times in the last several years. It comes across as rude and doesnt make me want to continue seeing you when you cant make a note that I am not interested and would rather not hear about it again.I understand your job is to sell services to your patients, but not at the expense of their confidence and mentality. I am looking for a new practice because of this reason.

Chesney Dentistry has great hours and a great staff. They are thorough and I always receive premium care.

Hygenist was very gentle, but thorough. There was a potential issue with my insurance plan and the staff gave me time to confirm my coverage. Everyone I met was kind and pleasant. Sorry I havent been a patient there previously.

Never ordered my crown. Went in to get it placed and it was never ordered. Also they hire new teeth cleaning girls all the time. They are nice, but seem somewhat unorganized.

Chesney does a great job of getting you into the chair on time and sometimes early. For me this makes the experience fantastic. Nothing disturbs me more than a medical office being late. The hygienists are nice and professional. I have recommended Chesney to family and friends in the area.

I have been a patient here for many years. The doctors are always positive and cheerful. On his long lunchbreak, Dr Chesney Sr rides his bike long distances. He says it is relaxing. He is an avid bike rider and in good shape. I have found that dentists who are physically fit are happier than other dentists. (We also go to Dr. Hicks orthodontist who is passionate about bike riding.) I like a happy dentist. Im nervous about having people working in my mouth. Dr Chesney Jr is also physically fit and happy.

Every single time i go to this place I am amazed at the care, the attention to detail, professionalism yet pared with a like-family feel, and how pleasant the office is to be at.Ive been going to them for years for routine teeth cleaning/check. They have also repaired a chipped FRONT tooth of mine and you cannot tell that i even chipped it! Highest of recommendations for this business!!

I have been using Dr Chesney for years! The staff is always so warm and welcoming and Dr Chesney is just a great guy. If you ever have an issue between cleanings they always get you in quickly. I was deployed to Iraq in 2005 and had forgotten to pay for a bill before I left, They refused to accept payment from my Dad and said they just wanted me back safely. Needless to say, I will never use another dentist.

If I were to title this review it would be Turn Your Fears Into Cheers.I hate visiting the Dentist and for no reason I can describe, I just dont like going. After years of avoiding (over a decade) the trip my gums forced me to take action. I chose Chesney for no reason other than it was close to my house but I could not have chosen better. I have had three visits in two months righting the wrongs I had done to my teeth and at each one I was completely satisfied. At all three visits I was almost immediately taken to the chair and work began. I love the staff, they are professional, caring, consistent, and although they obviously interact among themselves they pay more attention to the patient than each other. I detest visiting anywhere that I am the customer but the staff carries on a conversation with each other as if I am a nuisance. Also, although this may have been coincidence each time I have had the same hygienist. I like that because she is the one who now knows my teeth. Bottom line is I recommend Chesney Dentistry I certainly am happy with their service.

Dr. Chesney refused to work on my son after one unsuccessful appointment. We had a successful trip before that. Showed up to our appointment, only to wait 30 minutes to have the receptionist tell us Dr. Chesney was not going to see us. Really disappointed that he couldn’t talk to me and instead sent someone else to come talk to me. I felt that was very unprofessional.

Since moving to Tennessee about 14 years ago I have had several dentist/offices that I was unhappy with. Either they would overcharge, rude receptionist, ect. But we found our with Chesney and the whole team is great. My 6 year old loves going to the dentist. That should be proof they are great by itself!

I was referred to Chesney Dentistry and had only been twice for cleanings when my daughter chipped both of her front teeth. I called them up and they worked us in the very same day. I was told upfront that we may have to wait once we arrived, but we were called back sooner than expected. Knowing there were other patients to be seen who had appointments, we were completely understanding when Dr. Nathan had to break from us in order to check on others. The care the entire team - from the dentist, to the dental assistant, to the receptionist, to the administrative team - was exceptional. They were considerate of my daughters age and timidness in the attention they gave her. Dr. Nathan made her new front teeth look great and made her feel at ease. Even though our dental experiences with Chesney Dentistry have been limited, they certainly won us over and I have no qualms of recommending them to others.

Absolutely phenomenal staff, Ive been going for years and literally couldnt be happier. I never thought it could get better and now Dr. Nathan Chesney has joined the team and it is! Im really not a fan of getting my teeth cleaned or any other dental work for that matter, but this group puts me at ease and makes it easier for me. And talk about customer service! WOW! Text, email, and phone call reminders before appointments, awesome billing/insurance staff, convenient and flexible scheduling, and everyone in the building friendly, helpful, and smiling the entire time. If you are looking for dental care your search is over. Seriously! Try them out!

Horrible. They set me up to get a filling and a crown. Told me my insurance is quoted to pay 50%. Then after numbing me and starting in to work the front desk staff rush back to tell me they were mistaken and the insurance isnt going to pay for any of the crown. Then expect me to pay for the numbing procedure when they didnt even perform any dental work. Very disorganized and unprofessional. Definitely would NOT recommend this office.

I had the most amazing cleaning in years!

When I first got there, I didnt think much of the 7am appointment time. Staring up at ceiling lights when it was still dark out just seemed the wrong way to start the day. But on the way out, I realized I had the whole day left without it being cut in half for a routine dental appointment. How smart is that? Now Ill try to get that time all the time, but going by the crowd I saw rushing in there at 7, I may have to fight for it. Ha! Hey, and dont forget to stop at Krispy Kreme on your way to work or where ever you need to go. Its right down the street. Is that a sweet day or what?!
