My first visit was the first time with Doctor Spencer, MD I was very impressed with him from the start to the end. The one thing that I first noticed right away was this picture framed on the wall in the waiting room area. It was a precious letter from Doctor Spencers daughter about how great her daddy is how hard he works etc, its not quoted verbatim but it brought tears to my eyes when I read it. Thats one sure sign that hes a great physician.

I started seeing Dr. Spencer when I was a kid, he was an excellent doctor then. Years went by, life happens. I moved back to the area and was glad to find the same staff 15 years later, show me any other medical office with that tenure, and youre probably getting the quality care you deserve. Dr. Spencer and his team listen to you and treat you with respect. Glad youre still here doc!

Dr. Spencer has saved my life twice. He is excellent, extremely smart, and a good doctor. His bedside manners improves as he gets to know you. He wont sugarcoat anything, I have no insurance and 2 chronic conditions, and he has always treated me with respect and great medical care.

Clean!Respectful!Caring!Wallet Friendly! This is the place to go if you dont have health insurance. Its the same as any other clinic, with same service and same care as anywhere else. I am Hispanic and my husband is white. We have never encountered any racism, or disrespect. Sometimes the lady at the reception has a little attitude (everyone has a bad day sometimes) but never disrespectful. Dr. Spencer is a smart, respectful doctor. He is firm in his decisions and actions, and expects to receive the same respect in return. If you are cursing or acting out, he will firmly ask you to refrain from your vaf behavior (expected). He is always considerate of your $ ability, but always takes care of you. If you cant work with Dr. Spencer, you must be the problem.

They never call you back. I have been out of my high blood pressure medicine for over a week and they will not refill it and its only been 3 months since my last visit. I have called and called and called to get to re-schedule an appointment or have the doctor call in a dang refill. What the heck is going on....The options on their phone lines either dont work or you cant leave a message because the voicemail is full AND YOU NEVER GET A LIVE PERSON....EVER!!!!!!! I have bad headaches now and Im light headed and very dizzy with chest pains now from all the stress and NO ONE WILL ANSWER THE PHONE OR CALL ME BACK! GOD HELP ME!!!!!!!

He listens. He cares. He is professional and very experienced. He focuses on preventative care if and when possible by getting ahead of things that can be managed. I had difficulty accepting high blood pressure and prematurely stopped taking my prescription. After Christmas, dental treatment was refused until my pressure was lower so I resumed taking my meds and bought a BP cuff to track my levels. Sure enough, its often high... so much so that Dr. Spencer increased my dosage, and incrementally makes educated recommendations instead of assuming 1 medicine fits all. He asks questions, listens well, and makes adjustments as needed - with careful consideration of how I feel and how my body will respond. Im telling you, this doctor genuinely cares and healthcare is truly his God-given calling!!! Additionally he hasnt ever made me feel bad for a late or last minute arrival. Dr. Spencer gives a care and hes compassionate!! His staff members are great too!

WRONG CLINIC IF YOU ARE CAUCASIAN! Upon calling my pharmacy for my bi-annual refill on my daily medication, I discovered that Dr. Spencer had failed to send over my prescription. The pharmacy attempted to contact the clinic to no avail, and then phoned me to let me know that I would have to contact them personally. I called the clinic and asked them about the prescription and was advised that I would have to come back in for another visit with the Doctor, less than six months after my previous visit in order to get a refill on my non-narcotic medication. I was very clear in stating that I had 3 days of medication and that I would have to see him soon in order not to miss a dosage. I did get a next day appointment and arrived on time, I waited for over 1.5 hours and then returned later that day. The LNP advised me of a some concerns and had blood work drawn, with the promise of a next day follow up and medication refill.I did not receive a follow up call the following day but could view my lab results via their online program. There were some abnormalities that any concerned health care professional would have followed up on immediately. Nor did she call in a refill of my medication. (the original reason for my visit) I have now gone 4 days without medication due to the extended Memorial Day weekend.Today I visited the clinic and was treatly rudely by the front desk attendant. I was then called back and met with Dr. Spencer in the hallway… where other staff members and patients were within hearing range. His first question was “what do you need me to do”. My response was obviously “a refill”. He then sent that over the pharmacy giving me a 90 day supply. Upon questioning the 90 day supply of a prescription that I normally get a year’s supply on, his response was “ I will give you 1 refill on this”. He then asked if there was anything else and I advised him that I had concerns over the abnormal lab work and the extremely low blood pressure. His response “it’s probably just anemia due to your periods. Needless to say I have not had a period in over 15 years ( I am of retirement age and well beyond those days). He then looked at me questioningly and says “and?”. To which I responded that could not possibly be the cause of my lowered blood pressure and abnormal blood tests. He then states “Oh you were probably just dehydrated” to which I said “that’s probably not it”. His response “Well how do you know if you were or not?” “I guess we just need to watch this and see how it goes”. At no time have I disclosed that I am a retired health care professional and that I might know a bit about my own health care considering I’ve lived in this body well over half a century. My disgust had reached its limit and I walked away determined to find a more caring primary care physician. Upon leaving the clinic I said “thank you” to the very rude front desk attendant and she then in turn looked me up and down and gave me a very condescending look. It was so obvious that another patient of color who had heard most of the conversations with the staff and doctor commented “Sister, you are the wrong color to be coming to this clinic, go find you a nice white doctor who will treat you right”.I have never in over 30 years of practicing health care ever viewed my patients by color etc. I’ve treated each and every one of them with the same care I would provide my own family members. I am what my sons call “old school” in that I don’t see colors or care about a person’s background, we treat them with dignity and respect.I will take that kind ladies advice and go elsewhere to a doctor who is better suited to see to my care, regardless of his or her color. And I will let the rest of the world do the same.If you are Caucasian or of another ethnicity outside of African American, then this practice is probably not the place for you to get quality health care.

I took a visit to check this doctor out since a friend mentioned it on Facebook. At the time I was between jobs and didnt have insurance and Dr. Edward Spencer discounted the visit and little charge for the scripts since he gave me some free samples on top of it all.I personally didnt have a bad experience with the girl at the window, maybe they got rid of her or she quit.If you are looking for a cheap place to get a checkup, on a budget, or no insurance, I recommend this Doctor.

Dr. Spencer is not a good doctor that cares about his patients. My husband has diabetes and his sugar was up 397 and he couldnt get in to see him right away and he ran out of medicine dr. Spencer would not even give him a week suppy of medicine to get his sugar down until he could get to the doctor. I would not recommend him. That tells me he has no regard for his patients he is money hungry. Its not like his diabetes is gonna go away why would u give him a 2 month suppy anyway its sad and its a shame. All i can do is warn people about out experience and keep praying for his heart.
