I am new to SJC and Dr. Townsend and his staff were quick to see me when I got sick as a new patient. Very professional, sweet staff from the front desk to the lab tech to the Doctor! Highly recommended and thankful that I found this office! Thanks for the other positive reviews that convinced me to try.

Love the doctor but the office staff was horrible. First, they played 20 questions when I expressed concern my schedule was very tight regarding scheduling an appointment. She was not at all sympathetic that my father was in ICU and with a condescending tone asked what hospital and if I was staying there all day because she knew I had to leave at some point. Who says that to a patient who is already stressed? Second, she hung up on me when i was trying to tell her i needed a couple of days worth of my prescription since i was having personal problems (my prescription is not a controlled substance) scheduling an appointment. She hangs up on me again and on the third try she went off on me. Went as far as putting my conversation on speaker phone for others to hear (violation of confidentiality since she did not ask for consent ). Thirs, I left word for the doctor to call me back twice, never heard, which leads me to think Dr. doesnt know what his staff is doing to do away with his practice. If he did know and did not call, then shame on him but I doubt it. Again love the doctor but in order to see him prepare to be interrogated and disrespected by the folks in the office. Very disappointing.

The office staff was welcoming and efficient. I did not have to wait much. Dr. Townsend spend considerable time with me discussing my issue and is quite knowledgable. In todays healthcare world, it seems rare when a Doctor will actually spend time reviewing options and thoroughly diagnosing problems. I was quite pleased and highly recommend him.

My husband and I both go to Dr. Townsend, and he is by far the best primary care physician we have ever had. His staff is also excellent.

My husband and I have been going to Dr Townsend for 10years. We are very pleased with his staff and Dr Townsend. We have had bumps in our road of life and Dr Townsend has always been then for us. He always makes me feel comfortable talking with him about what troubles me. He always explains my prescriptions throughly so I know what it is for & etc. I highly recommend him. He does own the spa next door but he has never gone on and on about it. Actually to lose weight the spa wouldne much more healthier then being put on a diet pill. The only negative is he is a Georgia Bulldog fan😉

Dr. Townsend is awesomeeee! All my kids, my husband, and myself see him. There is a short waiting time, very organized, and the staff has all their ducks in a row. If you think about it.. everyone usually gets sick at the same time. Very handy to have a family go to one location instead running around town getting 3 separate prescriptions. He does care about his patients well-being.. especially children. He is not deliberately ambiguous or unclear and gives straight expeditious answers. So, if you have the flu you do not have to wait for a hour long sugar coated response, like other doctors. He gives options and wants to see that you get better! The first review person is crazy for complaining about a doctor who offers spa treatment, local fitness, and healthy weight loss programs. Suggestions of local AFFORTABLE businesses are very helpful and it is nice to NOT drive alllll the way to Ponte Vedra for good treatments and well trained personnel! Dr. Townsend is a doctor who cares so much about people and figured out a way to help our community by offering spa care for teens, men, and women, 100 ft from the office door.
