Went to this location on a Friday night around 8:38pm, only one person was waiting in the waiting room wasnt sure if they were waiting on someone there or not. The only person to greet patients was a security guard. Waited from 8:38 to 9pm nobody from the actual hospital staff even acknowledge that we were there. It would have been nice to at least get a reception that could provide at least some sort of ETA on when you might be seen. The reason we went there for because of a cut finger and probably needs stitches. Fortunately, the bleeding stopped and we just left. I went there because I thought it would be faster. I was wrong. NOT SURE I CAN RECOMMEND based on this experience. For me mine was poor.

I have been in twice. Both times were for a cardiac issue. They have an on-site lab so you can be tested there and get the results fairly fast. I also had an MRI. I never waited. They took me in a room immediately, administered an EKG, and had the results fairly quickly. The doctor came in the room, took a seat and had a nice discussion. Medicaid Blue Cross paid the entire bill. They went an extra step and made appointments for me with both my primary doctor and my cardiologist, and then followed up to see if I went to the appointments. They get 5 stars for going the extra mile.

I was seen here for an issue that had gotten progressively worse, was told by previous physician to come back to his office or go to the ER if it got worse. Both nurses were extremely condescending and one of them had a head nurse badge on. The doctor was very nice, but they did absolutely nothing to help correct the issue...gave me bandaids for the problem and sent me off. Complete waste of time. Only reason for two stars is the doctors excellent bedside manner.

I have a good insurance company and have never been charged this much. Upon leaving I was told I’d receive a bill for around $100, months later I receive 2 bills of $500 and $1500. DO NOT GO HERE.

My emergency was a deep cut on my thumb. It was bleeding a lot. I checked in and wa seen within five minutes. A very caring nurse, Michele did the preliminary work and quickly saw a doctor. He was fantastic! He described everything that he was going to do and did it quite well. He put on a topical cream for pain and then gave me three shots in my thumb to numb the pain. He took two stitches. five minute later checked out.I was out the door in less than one hour.

I have been here twice once for myself once for a friend. Each time has been very helpful the staff is very educated and is happy to answer any questions I had. They did not make me feel rushed or like inconvenienced them at all. Dr. Papavasillou was very nice and took his time and explained things very well. The nurse at the time I think her name was Jennifer she was SO nice and I work in veterinary medicine so I was asking about the medications in human medicine and she was very eager to educate me and explain things. They were very attentive and made me aware of everything. There was not any point where I felt unsafe or unsure. Everything they did and everything they gave me was thoroughly explained. I was also warned that the medications would taste terrible lol. I had an overall wonderful experience and would recommend them to anyone who needs good care.

Decided to come here around 5am because I woke up vomiting and my throat was throbbing with pain. Here’s the cons during this visit : Doc ordered a CT scan and they didn’t test my urine for pregnancy first, I had to ask them to. This should be protocol (and normally is) because I’m a young female. I waited an hour after arrival and finally had to ask for something for nausea. Shift changed and the new doc came in to tell me everything was fine as it was just a viral infection of some sort, and to just take it easy. No vitals were taken prior to discharge. Upon arriving home 30 minutes later, I began shivering and my heart rate was in the 140’s. My temp was 102.2 so I got in the car to drive back, I didn’t make it and had to call an ambulance. Upon ambulance arrival, temp was 103 and they gave me an injection to slow my heart rate. Spent 2 days admitted at baptist where they found pneumonia on my lung and pumped me with IV antibiotics. But..the doc at memorial ER told me I just needed to take it easy... I’m still confused how they could have so carelessly missed all of this.

The ultrasound technician was absolutely amazing by every measure. Having been around a number of years this was the greatest experience I’ve ever had in a medical facility. By they way, Mandarin clinic approached me offering a discount which we agreed but never reached the billing services company and my debt is still as is. Calling back was just a waste of time with nobody knowing anything about the arrangement. Bad bad bad. In general a very bad experienceI would suggest that NEVER EVER somebody go to this place EXCEPT if it is a REAL emergency. And that is because of the billing. My daughter was throwing up and had a nausea so we took her to Memorial Emergency Center at Mandarin Jacksonville which was close to our house. The doctor did a regular check-up, checked her throat, touched her belly, gave her a pharmacy for the nausea and we left. The process took more or less half an hour. At that point I have to admit that we were satisfied with the services and the doctor, however the real surprise was when we received the billing. Guys believe me the numbers are EXTRAORDINARY! The Memorial emergency center at Mandarin billed my insurance for $4,085!?!?!?! of which we have to pay the $1,467!?!? This does not end here. A couple of days later we receive the doctors bill which he billed our insurance $1,191!?!?! of which we have to pay the $953!?!? So for a half hour service of a common incident, the Memorial emergency center at Mandarin and the doctor, billed my insurance $5,276 of which we have to pay the half of it! I called to complain but the response I had was that they can do nothing and that Memorial emergency center at Mandarin is a full service ER and all services are billed as such. As a consequence of THAT response I am posting this review, to inform people of the extraordinary pricing of their services and try to help others to not do the same mistake we did. I would suggest, in order for the Memorial emergency center at Mandarin to be clear and transparent to its clients, to have a notice informing the future patients that they charge for ER SERVICES, explaining at LEAST the approximate cost of services and ask them if they can afford to pay. If I had that information provided to me at the time of visit, believe me, I would have left and go somewhere else. BUT THIS INFO WAS NEVER PROVIDED TO US! I felt cheated, exploited. Because charging $5,276 for a half hour visit is a pure steal. Can anybody trust such a provider in the future? A provider who doesn’t care about its patients but only cares to exploit them? I have never done a google review before but this is a HISTORICAL billing and I really felt ripped off. It is the least I can do to help others to not make the same mistake. Thank you for reading.

Multiple family members and I Have been seen & treated numerous times at this ER prior to my visit on Saturday Feb. 9, 2019. Its unfortunate because it only takes one bad experience to ruin it for good. I went in because I was having congestion, sore throat, fever chills & so forth. The Nurse swabbed me for Strep & said it was negative. The Doctor discarded all other symptoms I mentioned and sent me on my merry way saying it was viral. The nurse & Dr Brian Anderson were very rude and sarcastic when I asked to have an antibiotic prescribed due to my weak immune system. I work in the medical field & when a patient is stating their concerns and needs your obligation as a provider and or nurse and or staff is to fulfill those needs. To make sure the patient feels comfortable. Well I was discharged & it so happens that symptoms only worsened. I come to Baptist South only to find out I have the flu. To me that is negligence on the doctors behalf because no other testing was done to rule out my symptoms. Never again.

Not only was my husband misdiagnosed after the doctor ignored his concerned in the 5 minutes he spent with him, we were charged an astronomical amount. We had to go to a different doctor to get the correct diagnosis, antibiotic, and steroid to treat the infection. Memorial refused to work with us on the bill, even when we showed them the multiple doctor bills we had from our primary care physician stating the actual diagnosis and separate invoices. Their paperwork says their vision is to inspire faith within our community, but I can assure you that our experience was far different from that vision. We would have had better luck at a Carespot or similar facility.

This place is worse than the bobo putt putt course that used to be here. I came in with issues pertaining to my pregnancy. I tried to explain that I have positive and negative tests. It is fairly common knowledge that a false negative is much more common than a false positive. But somehow this doctor had no knowledge of this and simply told me I wasnt pregnant. He even tried to insinuate I just wanted to be pregnant. He didnt do a THING not one single test not a physical or an exam to try to help. I immediately went for another opinion and what do you know. I AM 13 weeks pregnant. They suspect my hormones are simply registering too high to show up on the test but in case that wasnt what was happening they gave me a sleuth of other reasons as to why I was receiving negative tests while pregnant. Had I listened to this doctor I would be firstly taking 800 mg ibuprofen which isnt okay to take while pregnant and I wouldnt be getting the medical care a pregnant woman needs. These people are absolutely negligent and having a small wait time does not make up for the absolute awful care you will receive here.

The sign in time and being called to see the doctor was pretty quick, you better not have a problem so that you need to speak to the billing department. Having a seizure disorder that STRESS is a main factor to cause them (and they know it), the billing department will cut you off, interrupt you, and cause the stress to make you have to be seen by another physician, only starting you back at the reason you went in to see them in the first place. They are the rudest, have no customer service training, ethics or morals. If I wasnt in the process of improving my credit to purchase a home/mortgage, there is no way in this world I would pay the co-payment. And further more once this is finally taken care of, I will never in this world go back to that place again!!!!!

I do not recommend coming here unless there is no other option. My partner brought me here around 2 a.m. after we realized I was having a drug interaction induced panic attack. I was concerned there could be a seizure risk due to the type of medication. Memorial Emergency Center is the first “emergency room” that I’ve been to that has no medical staff at the front desk, just an elderly security guard watching murder mysteries on the waiting room television. It was ~ 20 minutes before I interacted with any medical staff. As I was led to a room it seemed there were only two other patients present. The nurse was friendly and seemed genuinely concerned about my current state. After vitals were gathered, he asked for my insurance card and identification as he left the room. Shortly after a different staff member brought paperwork to be filled out with the information from my insurance and I.D. card. As I was filling out the forms, registration called the room requesting information from my insurance and I.D. card; to which I stammered out the answers. All that made this location seem disorganized and rather frustrating since I was still in the middle of a panic attack. The doctor, although not the least bit cheery, did his job effectively stating that my issue while extremely discomforting was rarely lethal and offered a sedative. If Memorial Medical wants to advertise this location as an emergency room then it should be staffed accordingly. I recommend going to a real ER attached to an actual hospital.

Unless it is a true emergency, I would recommend seeking care from a different facility. On March 17, 2018, my husband woke up feeling sick and wanted to go to a facility that was open on a Saturday. He went to this facility as it was near our home. When the doctor came to examine him, my husband described his symptoms: sweats, chills, nausea, weakness. The doctor never took his temperature or tested him for the flu. Instead he sent him home with an antibiotic prescription. He spent a total of 4 minutes with him. Over the remaining 2 days my husbands symptoms became worse and on Monday I had to drive him to see his physician. He had a fever of 104 degrees and tested positive for Influenza B. The time period for any antiviral to be effective had passed. Memorial Emergency Center billed our insurance carrier $2,841.00.

One woman was upset with me for sleeping even though I haven’t slept for two days prior to that and asked me to call someone to come get me and threw me out of the room. She was very rude and I wish I knew her name so I could write it on here but hopefully she reads it and remembers. She definitely does not need to be a nurse whoever she was. I would doze off again and again and she would scream “Get Up” over and over again. You don’t treat individuals that way especially if they are under medication. The staff turned out to be rude, no empathy whatsoever and barely showed any concern. I doubt they could’ve cared less so I will never be coming here again and I advise you don’t either.

This place is an urgent care facility that bills like an emergency room. Total Scam!!! Doctor spent 10 seconds shining a light in my throat, then prescribed an antibiotic. $2,800 bill(I pay $1,170 out of pocket), to say I was shocked, is an understatement. They saw that I have good insurance and billed them an absurd amount. I called to ask how a 5 minute visit with no procedures or tests was this amount, they stated it was a “level 3 emergency visit”. When I asked if that was the lowest level emergency, they said no, level 1 is. How is a 5 minute doctor visit with absolutely no procedural work done, not the lowest level? I have requested that the billing department review the bill, we will see how that goes. The next step is to get my insurance company involved. What is happening at this business needs to be reviewed by the appropriate regulatory bodies, and I will do my part to make that happen. I am writing Governor Rick Scott now. I will write the Better Business Bureau. I might write 50 letters, because I’m that type of person. People need to know that this place is unethical, immoral and anything but helpful.

Dr. Papa was awesome, he made me feel very comfortable and helped me to feel better about what was going on with me. He wasnt able to definitively diagnose me because they dont have an MRI machine there, but Dr. Papa gave me a referral for a gastroenterologist to follow up with for an MRI.Even though I had to wait for lab work and wait for a radiologist to review the CT scan, everyone made sure I was as comfortable as possible since my stomach was hurting a lot. Up front disclosure. I knew this facility was classified as an ER and went in knowing the bill would be high. My insurance covered 95% of my bill, but I am still in shock at how HIGH the bill was and want others to be aware of what can happen at a place like this, even though I didnt get stuck with the bill I find myself angry thinking about people unknowingly visiting here thinking its an urgent care. Our bill was $17,000! Follow up visits with my family doctor also raised questions to the overall care received here. For $17,000 there should be no gaps in care!My wife had a kidney stone late at night. Facility was empty so we were seen quickly, staff was friendly enough, no complaints. At discharge we were given a prescription for pain meds and sent on our way. Several hours later wife is throwing up the pain meds due to the severe pain of the stone and calls Dr on Demand for help. The physician is dumbfounded we werent given anti nausea meds OR medication to help pass the stone, just narcotics for pain. Wife was nauseous at Memorial so they were aware of this. This was our first kidney stone so we didnt know we should be given these types of prescriptions. Speaking with nurses at work subsequent days later led to more disbelief we hadnt been given the correct medication to assist in passing the stone. Just a pat on the back and some narcotics. So as the Memorial moderator will respond to this message Im sure, yes its an ER and bills will be higher, but given the lack of attention to the medication we needed at discharge it appears to be a bill as high as we can hope insurance pays type of shop. Double, Triple, Quadruple check this place is IN NETWORK for your insurance or you could owe them a brand new car after the fact! And even then your care may not be completely what you need!

It is just COMMONLY linked with pancreatitis but it does not MEAN pancreatitis(obviously because I have no pains). SHE WAS THINKING OF HYPERLIPIDEMIA. I know this because she then said “lipids are fat. We sometimes pull blood out of patients with this much fat on the top”. Um okay, well that has NOTHING to do with my condition. She then asked me what I eat for breakfast lunch and dinner, and she then says “well I would stop eating so many burgers”. I didn’t even mention burgers at all in any of my meals. I eat healthy. How about you educate yourself before you begin insulting your patients ASHLEY.

SCAM ALERT!!! $1600 for a throat swab to tell me my son has the 10 day flu and to wait it out? Then I received another separate bill for $868 for Dr. Mellissa Rosado.Only took my son here instead of urgent care because he was having chest pain. Never hooked to heart monitor. I wouldnt go back here even if my arm was cut off....Thanks for the reply but I shouldnt have to go through all the red tape when you charged me 2500 for a simple flu check and spent literally 2 minutes in the room. Thanks but no thanks.AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST!!!!!!!

Amazing place here. I came in, spoke to the front desk (polite) Sat down for two minutes and was called back . They took my measurements and vitals immediately and took me into a room.I had originally gone to Baptist South who made me wait around for hours ( yes i know its an priority first) didnt see a doctor until I was a in tears in front of a nurse they looked at the Abcess of my gum and perscribed me Antibiotics and told me to see a dentist. Which I did. No one wanted to help me in my first trimester of pregnancy without an obgyn. And no obgyns are open on the weekends. While i waited (practically no time at all) my Abcess had actually ruptured so when i came back from the bathroom my doctor had already been waiting for me and talkes to my Fiance about the issues already. Super friendly, he checked out my mouth and and applied topical ointment and even helped me drain it and gave me more antibiotics. He also informed me with alot of information no body else had provided me.This place is amazing and everyone there is great.

I took my unresponsive 20 month daughter in, and she started having a seizure shortly after we got there. The situation quickly became very serious as her seizure would not subside and heart rate kept going up. She needed to be intubated and given anti seizure meds, followed by a number of tests. The staff that night was amazing, professional, kept talking me through what was going on and took good care of my little girl. Once my daughter was stable we had to be transported to Wolfsons and stayed there four days, until we were given a diagnoses. I am forever grateful for the doctor and staff that was on call that night and cant thank them enough. It was a very scary situation and this was the closest clinic-so glad it was! Piper is doing much better now!

Terrible servclce from the nurses told me they had the tools yo help but didnt and did not even acknowledge my injury. Went there twice actually and still no help they deserve this one star. Its a shame for being such a new facility and fully staffed and yet still be this bad at a job they have studied years to do.

RIP OFF!They do indeed take you back very quickly, so quickly that they triage you BEFORE they collect your insurance or billing information.Once you have spoken with the triage nurse and AFTER you have had blood or urine specimen collection is when their billing department comes to your room and informs you that your visit is going to cost you 1 arm and 1 leg but if you pay them right there on the spot they will give you a discount which surely will be followed by another outrageous bill to your mailbox.I have never once been to a hospital that takes walk-in patients back before they collect information or co-pays until today; seems like a real Quality Assurance problem to me.I got up and walked out- there is no way Im willing to pay hundreds of dollars for a simple urinalysis!! The cost of the test is literally less than $2 for supplies: sterile cup $1, clean catch wipe $0.10, reagent test strip $0.15.So I guess unless your limbs are falling off or you are gushing blood you should drive south about 1 mile and be seen at Baptist Care Spot for a fraction of the price...No wonder the wait time is so little at this establishment; people would rather die than pay their premium prices!Care Spot is open until 9pm ;)

We’ve been there twice. The first time the physician performed an X-ray on my son’s arm and found the reason for his pain and referred him for emergency surgery with broken clavical. The situation was overlooked by UF Hospital Trauma Center. The doctors and nurses were extremely attentive and thorough.Second visit was with an accident requiring stitches and once again I’m glad we went there to find yet another very caring physician and nursing staff. Yes, it isn’t cheap but it’s wuality care and the location is ideal for this area. Remember, as the sign says on the door... it is an emergency room not an urgent care facility.

I was seen quickly, and the treatment I received was extremely helpful. While they were unable to solve the problem, they did help me enough to get to my regular doctor

1 star is even too high- $2000 dollars for a splinter are you kidding me and unnecessary interventions that would not treat my wifes condition. Dont bother wasting your time going to this facility. Outrageous charges. I guess they want to pay off the building this year.

Worst experience ever! Came in to this facility to avoid long wait at the emergency room, but we waited over 3 hours here. Doctor James Hayes was going to cut my husbands finger open to release puss without giving him anything to numb him. After pleading he finally agreed to give him a pain pill in which didnt work because when he tried to cut him open my husband felt everything he was screaming in pain!! My husband had to beg this doctor to inject something to numb his finger. He gave in and injected him, but instead of injecting around his finger Dr James Hayes stuck my husband directly on the infected area which hurt my husband so much. I have seen several complains against this doctor so now were not surprise wth what just happened... Bottom line is do not go to this one. James Hayes dont care and they nurses are lazy!!! A nurse said that the Doc finally realized how weve been waiting for so long so he agreed to finally just send him home with a pain pill and asked my husband to follow up with his doctors!!! I will be calling the corporate for sure. We have video proof! Also Dr. Hayes told my husband you dont know me, dont question what Im doing, Ive done this type of procedure a million times Dr. Hayes was very unprofessional! #memorialhospital #memorialemergency #worsrdoctor #jameshayesbadreview

I will NEVER return to this facility ever again!!! The service was so slow, rude, came across very judgmental. I felt totally judged and then was preached to. I went to get medical help, not a counceling session. I will never recommend my family and friends to go there ever if they needed help. I was beyond dissatisfied with my experience at memorial on San Jose Blvd.

A warning to our fellow neighbors, this facility may look like an urgent care facility, both inside and out, but it is classified as an ER- just as if you went to Baptist, St. VIncents, etc..and you will receive a grossly inflated bill about a month later. I have been charged $1700 for strep throat- AFTER insurance. Memorial did nothing during my 25 minute visit toinform me of any of their billing procedures.
