Incompetent doctors and staffKept telling me my cough was just a cough... kept prescribing me cough syrup with codeine for 2 weeks until I was rushed to the ER with severe pneumoniaMy sister went in with a sore throat and severe ear pain, nausea, and high blood pressure and they sent her home with Flonase and said its just allergies.....Please get more competent staff. This is ridiculous

It is impossible to try and get in with these people now because they believe every single symptom is covid related and they won’t let you in if you have symptoms of literally ANYTHING. is that not the point of the doctor?? My roommate has strep and now I have horrible throat pain and they won’t let me get in to get tested for strep. The lady over the phone was rude and kept interrupting me too. I’m fed up because I couldn’t even get in touch with this place the last three days and when I finally did they wouldn’t let me in. I’m never one to leave reviews but now I know why this place has 2 stars.

I have always had a good experience with Dr. Johnson and Jeanne, my counselor. They listen to my every need and are very respectful.

Everyone working there was rude and half of them didn’t know how to do their job. I rather drive multiple hours home to a any other doctor then ever ever go back. Ecu needs new staff at the health center that care about the students

I see a lot of bad reviews, and I haven’t always had the best luck but I am kinda forced to go because I have the university insurance. My advice is go to Ashley Clark! (I believe that is her name), she always validated and believed my symptoms and she will do research for alternative methods of treatment if you don’t like the one she recommends. She is the sweetest healthcare professional I’ve met by far!!!

Is there a zero star? theyre wrong all the time, said my foot wasnt broken when it was, was told to not come back there if I can self diagnose myself (which im a student not a professional like them). I was told I wouldnt get some charges on my account but in stead was charged for all these little things like reading the letters off this paper. Some staff is friendly and try to help you but most of them are rude and have no education in health even if they say they do. definitely a waste of money for students who have to buy insurance through the school. They also made me cry over the phone :) Literally a wast of money for the school to even hire these people.

I have never seen a facility that is so unprofessional! And the amount of misdiagnosis is ungodly! The amount of money that it cost to use that facility for the awful treatment is a joke! The doctors are extremely rude and like to give advice way out of there expertise! Something needs to be done about this place it’s seriously concerns me for students! Have had bad experiences more then a few times especially with doctors not knowing how to use medical equipment!

Walk-ins are not permitted, but you also arent allowed to make appointments reasonably ahead of time. Instead you have to make an appointment first thing in the morning for later that same day. What kind of bizarre system is that? Its a giant middle finger to anyone who has a busy schedule.

My daughter needed wound care after surgery and I went with her for the first few times. THESE people are amazing. They referred her to the wound clinic which was a life saver and they continued to follow her for her daily wound dressings. Every one has been both kind and competent. The scheduling is easy and the service is brisk. Overall we have been thrilled with the service here.

I went to this office on Tuesday because of ear pain. I was told I was fine and to take some Ibuprofen for the pain. On Wednesday I went to my doctor back at home and was given three prescriptions because of the heavy fluid in my ear which would have turned into an infection in the next couple of days if not treated. This has happened to me not only once, but TWICE. I would not recommend this place at all if you want actual help.

Dr. Thorn and staff were so kind and helpful when I went in! I made an appointment the morning of online and they had me in and out with the medicine I needed in less than an hour. Dr. Thorn walked me through taking me medicine, as well as the pharmacist, which was very comforting. Will definitely recommend to any/all ECU students.

Went to student health yesterday feeling horrible with Nonstop coughing, chills, sore throat, body aches, etc.... they did nothing for me and told me to take sudogest and mucinex dm. I am a patient with asthma and knowing this they still would not prescribe me a cough suppressant. Ended up having to go to a different doctor today where I was diagnosed with pneumonia and prescribed an antibiotic, 2 different cough suppressants, and steroids. I could have saved time and missing a day of school by not going to student health center. I don’t think they have a clue what they are doing and I will not being going there again. Waste of my time.

The quality of service is horrible. The nurse seemed to think I was faking my symptoms and just looked annoyed. At the end, the Dr. told me I had a respiratory viral infection and for treatment, gave me allergy medication.... Well, 2 weeks later, I am still coughing and producing green mucus and ended up in the ER twice because I was having breathing issues, which the Dr.s at the ER told me was caused my the virus I had and it not being treated properly. If youre a student or an incoming student, stick to your own insurance and have a friend drive you to urgent care because you will get no help here. Sucks as a student to go to the Doctors by yourself for the first time and have such horrible service and feel as if no one believes you.

They Never help with antibiotics and pretty much tell you youre sick and good luck with no solution. Go to a local urgent care if you actual want to get better sometime soon

I had one doctor tell me just to think happy thoughts to make the pain go away. I had been having muscle spasms for over 24 hours and was in so much pain that I was hysterical. I wasnt even asking for pain medication, just a muscle relaxer for the muscle spasms.

I am very disappointed. My daughter often gets sinus infections and bronchitis. Every time in the last three years that I told her to go to the clinic, she was sent home and told to come back if it got worse. Each time she has had to either go to Fastmed or come home and go to her own doctor where she was diagnosed and given medicine. It happened again today. My child deserves to have someone listen to her and believe her when she comes in sick.

ECU Student Health is an absolute JOKE!! I could be a doctor there because all i would have to do is prescribe Zyrtec to every patient who walked through the door. The doctors must be under orders to save money because they will not prescribe you anything other than Zyrtec. If you are having symptoms of being legitimately sick don’t go to student health unless you want Zyrtec.
