I saw Dr. Johnson again today for my annual eye exam, and visited his Rockville office for the first time. I was welcomed by Hannah, who was was efficient and friendly. Although the office was quite busy, everyone seemed to be doing their best to get everyone in and out as quickly as possible. I appreciated the greetings and introductory chat from both the technician, Ms. Calderon, and the doctor, which felt humanizing and set me at ease. I also respect that Dr. Johnson was training another physician, who observed my exam, since training and staff development are very important. All in all, I was very satisfied with my visit to the Retina Group today, and would not hesitate to recommend them.

One of the most pleasant doctors appointment I have ever experienced. The people were so helpful, kind and reassuring. The tests were efficiently done without long waits. Dr. Johnson comes in and takes all the time necessary to explain any question you have. He does additional examinations himself and then explains further what to expect as your diagnosis or outcome. A very unexpected experience. Dr. Johnson is a fine example of what I like in a doctor.

So appreciative of the fact that they were able to see me on short notice. The practice is run very professionally with what appears to be state of the art technology. Dr. Johnson was very personable, professional and clearly explained his findings and how to proceed. The entire staff was professional, friendly, and accommodating. Pre-testing was done by trained assistants, and Dr. Johnson gave further tests and evaluated my eyes, while providing a complete explanation of the condition of my eyes. He referred me to an optometrist for refraction/prism eyeglasses. I was greatly pleased with the evaluation, and it was a very positive experience.

Dr. Johnson is a great doctor. He takes explains what is going on with your eyes in a way that you understand. He also will answer any questions you may have and does not hurry you up like some doctors do. I am so happy that I was =referred to him!

My first visit was enlightening, I have the beginnings of age related macular degeneration. Through examination, suggestion for vitamins and a plan to watch yearly the progression.To date, there is no cure. My case is mild at this stage. Knowing a diagnoses relieves some anxiety and allows me to better plan the things on my bucket list.
