I had to find an eye doctor to be released back to work. I searched my whole area due to the covid restrictions my earliest appointment I could get was in Dec. I was given this offices number to try and they got me in right away. Super great people during my visit. They are now my new eye doctor

This was my second eye surgery with Dr Jani. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable in their jobs. Everyone did a great job including Dr Jani I just want to thank everyone for a 👏

I was all set to go ahead with my much-needed cataract surgery last month, but Im sorry to report that they are not 100% upfront with their fees and then they try to make you think its your fault for not understanding your insurance when in reality not all their charges are included in the initial quote. I received my quote, which was expensive but not a surprise, and I was ready to go ahead with everything until I called them a couple days after my initial consultation to see if theyd verified my insurance. Trust me, I didnt expect my insurance to pay a dime, but what I did NOT expect was for them to tell me that because of my deductible, my fees were increased by $800 per eye. Fortunately, I have worked in insurance for many years, so I understood that this was not how insurance works and was able to get to the bottom of what was happening. Insurance might not pay anything, but it certainly shouldnt raise your fee. What I finally was able to figure out (after some heated discussions) is that they leave off a line item on their quote -- the charges for the actual lens removal -- so we dont scare the patients (per the office manager). I sympathize with the patients who have already posted a similar story; if I hadnt checked when I did, I would have found out at the last minute like the others. At that point, you are then responsible for cancellation fees at the Surgi-Center (not cheap) and have already started your pre-surgical eye drop regimen. Note to Vista Eye Clinic: please dont speak down to me about not understanding my insurance. That is not what happened here. Fix your fee sheets and be honest with your patients from the beginning.

I received LASIK surgery from Dr. Jani about 4 months ago, in May 2021. He and the staff are professional, curteous, and friendly. Throughout my initial exams, surgery, and follow up exams, I interfaced with many staff members, and they were all a pleasure to deal with.One of the things that I noticed as I was in the waiting room for my initial exams was that there were many patients that were my senior in age. This gave me some comfort that maybe theyve been in the area for while, and experience tells them that this is the best place to go.Another thing I noticed during my initial exams was that Dr. Jani and his staff have a good rapport, good communication, and that they seem to have an appreciation and respect for his experience in the field. Its very reassuring to see that people who work in the field, and have experience in the field, have confidence in the man who is going to operate on your eyes.Billing was pretty simple. My insurance offered a discount on the standard price, but not on sale prices, so it was just a matter of which price was cheaper, since a sale was going at the time. The billing discussion and payment were pleasant, just like all of my interactions. They accepted my HSA card.Of all things, the most important was surgery day of course. The staff at the surgery center were curteous and friendly. The thing that stands out the most in my memory is the reassuring verbal feedback during the surgery. As a patient, I didnt want to do anything to mess the doctor up in his procedure. I didnt want to accidentally let my eyes drift in another direction when I was supposed to be looking straight forward; silly concerns like that. Throughout the entire surgery the constant verbal feedback, like, youre doing great, or youre doing a good job, left me confident that I wouldnt be the cause of any mess ups, and I trusted Dr. Janis experience, so I didnt have any worries about him being the cause either.Recovery went well. My far-sighted vision felt perfect immediately after surgery. My eyes stayed numb for a good while after surgery, from the drops that were used at the start of surgery. There is some irritation once this wears off, but the idea is that you take a nap until this goes away. I took the suggested nap, and the irritation ended at around six hours post-surgery, just as they estimate. I had a hard time seeing to send off a quick text after my nap. My near-sighted vision was still off, but this is to be expected, and I believe it was encouraged not to do anything like reading or screen time after surgery. After I slept again until the next day, my vision was great, both for reading, and seeing things far away. I had some serious light sensitivity, but that was almost completely gone two days post-operation. These things vary for each person, but I thought Id relay my personal experience with it.Now at a little over 4 months since surgery, my vision is 20/20. I dont need correction for reading or for things far away. I just finished a follow up exam (that was included in the surgery cost), and my eyes are healthy. Its an incredible feeling to wake up in the morning, and already have perfect vision. Id say its life-changing, and that it goes far beyond being worth the cost.

He has performed cataract surgery on my wife and has kept my glaucoma in check with the latest laser technology. In addition, the staff is as friendly and efficient as you will hope to find in any practice. I highly recommend this practice.

On 7/15 I had a procedure performed by Dr. Binoy Jani. This is not my first, so Im familiar with the quality of care and treatment from him. I depend on the best care to ensure Im able to function as well as I can visually. Oh my gosh, where do I begin? My experience with Dr. Jani and his staff was so much more than I expected. Dr. Jani was thorough, patient with a good sense of humor. I didnt realize how much the cataracts had impaired my vision and my view of color. As a watercolorist, it is essential for me to see color accurately. I am so happy with the results of the Vivity Toric Lens..although I had to pay out of pocket, it was worth it. My long distance and my intermediate vision is so much better. Also, there are times, I dont even need glasses for reading or computer work.Thank you Dr Jani !!!!!

In the early 2000s, after chemotherapy I began to lose my vision in my right eye. It took many years of eye appointments and consults and an almost total loss of vision before I switched to an eye doctor (Dr. Wasiuta) who highly recommended Dr. Jani. I saw Dr. Jani in 2011 and immediately upon consulting with him I knew I was in good hands. He took good time to explain why my vision had failed due to posterior polar cataracts and that he could correct it with a same-day procedure. I will never forget being able to see the leaves on the trees when riding home in the car and seeing the stars for the first time in approximately nine years. My vision is still amazing - as though it happened yesterday!2020 - Recently, I made an appointment for another minor, non-related eye issue.From calling to make an appointment to checking in and having the nurse and tech review my paperwork - the staff was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. The lobby and offices are clean and bright.Dr. Jani is thorough and took time to review past history and to listen regarding a current eye concern. He was thoughtful in offering solutions to address the issue and was complete in explaining a simple procedure to remedy it. He is friendly, courteous and professional and I could not imagine having any eye procedures performed by anyone else. In my book he is the best of the best and I am grateful for the eyesight he has given to me! He and his staff are an asset to our community!

This was my first time being here at the Vista eye specialist. Everyone made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. Everyone knew what they were doing and very professional. Dr. Jani was super great not knowing what was going to happen at the visit he told me everything and explained the different eye surgeries that I could choose from, in my opinion I wouldnt trust my eyes to anyone else.

I Just had my first cataract surgery with Dr. Jani this past Wednesday. I am SO pleased and happy with Dr. Jani and the staff at Vista Eye Specialists. She had been told by an eye doctor that she had glaucoma and needed to see a specialist. She found Dr. Jani and loved him. She did NOT have glaucoma! I feel I couldnt be in better hands. In June of 2020, Dr. Jani performed cataract surgery on my left eye. Prior to the surgery, he consulted with me, informing me of what type lens implant would work and also what type of lens would not work for me. I decided to have the Crystalens implanted. He also included a limbal relaxing procedure to correct astigmatism. The surgery was painless. My vision range has improved a great deal. I highly recommend Dr. Jani!

I went here for the first time today and ended up leaving over an hour later without ever being seen. I arrived just after 2:10 to start paperwork for an appointment that was scheduled for 2:30. At the time of my appointment I didn’t get called back, then 3 o’clock went buy and I was still in the waiting area. I ended up leaving around 3:20 without ever being called back for even the eye measurements and prep stuff. I will not be returning to this office. I will find somewhere else that has their stuff together more than this place does.

This was my first visit with this and this first is it will bring me back again!

Would be five stars if I didn’t have to wait so long. Really like Dr. Berryman! My eyes do feel better.

Dr. Jani and his entire staff were professional and friendly at all times. I had cataract surgery on both eyes. Dr. Jani was very helpful in clarifying my options on both standard and upgraded lenses. He outlined all the pros and cons which was what I needed to hear in order to make an informed decision. After surgery I ended up with great results and no longer need to use glasses or contacts. This is a great practice and I whole-heartedly recommend Vista Eye.

I went to another eye doctor for years who told me my vision would never be any better. My glasses prescription was only good for a few months and I didnt know what was going on.My husband had cataract surgery with Dr. Jani and had a great experience so I scheduled an eye appointment with their office. I was shocked to learn I had cataracts in both eyes that were causing my decline in vision. The first surgery made a huge difference in the eye that I was told would never have good vision. I just had the second eye done and it is healing well.Dr. Jani is kind and compassionate and answers all your questions. The pre-surgery examination is very thorough. During the prep of the surgery room one nurse commented to the other as they made an adjustment that Dr. Jani is very precise. Certainly precision is desired when your eyes are being operated on! Just knowing that is Dr. Janis reputation among the medical staff was a real confirmation to me of his excellent reputation.

I recently had my 2nd cataract surgery performed by Dr. Jani and his team. All of the staff that I came into contact with were both friendly and professional, and Dr. Jani was wonderful. I recently had a cataract surgery done by Dr. Jani. The lead-up visits to Vista were great; the staff was professional, and they answered all my questions, and made sure I had all the information I needed to make good decisions regatding the surgery. Dr. Jani was great, explaining the procedure very clearly, and helped me feel very comfortable and informed about the surgery. The visits went very smoothly. Dr. Jani performed the surgery, and so far, so good. I havent had any pain, irritation, or complications of any kind, and my right eye hasnt seen this well in years. I was conscious throughout the procedure, but I was comfortable and didnt feel a thing. It was very quick, probably 10 minutes or less. I absolutely recommend Dr. Jani and Vista Eye Specialists to anyone in need of expert eye care.

Unprofessional and poor knowledge about procedures. Had to ask literally 6 different staff members how to order contacts through their company and still ended up getting the wrong information and paying out of pocket. My insurance would have covered everything if they didnt misinform me. They also knowingly scheduled my pregnant wife for an eye exam and were told only after paying the copay that the results wouldnt be accurate and that wed have to come back again.

Cataract surgery - I wanted to be able to read without glasses. Dr Jani suggested Panoptic lense in one eye and monofocal in other. I was expecting issues with adapting and light halos. Two days after Panoptic surgery, I was reading without glasses. A day later, I didnt even notice the halos. I stay busy and depend on my eyes and did not have time to worry about them - just trusted the doc would lead me down the right path and he did.

The best decision I made this year was to opt to have laser corrective surgery on my eyes. Ive been wearing corrective lenses since a child and now is the first time in my life that I can clearly see with my own eyes. The experience from consultation to procedure was a piece of cake. Dr. Jani is world class and totally keeps you informed throughout the entire process. All of his staff were professional and helpful so I highly recommend Vista Eye Specialist. Very pleased on my new outlook on life. Thanks Vista and Dr. Jani!

If you need to have an eye exam and a prescription and your eyes checked out, this is not the place. No testing for glaucoma. No photos of your retina to check on disease. Plus a technician wanted an extra $40 in addition to the $250 already--paid fee and she directed me to surgery. Stay away from this place and go to a reputable eye doctor. My husband got a complete, comprehensive exam at Sight Studio for $85 the next day, for example.

I would recommend them to anyone having eye surgery.I had been told by my prior optometrist that there was nothing that could be done to improve my vision after an eye injury. Dr. Jani performed cataract surgery on both my eyes. The first one, just before Christmas, I was so scared, wound tight as a drum. He and his staff made me comfortable right off, and the experience was perfect. So I had the right one done two days ago and wanted to tell everyone I was not nervous at all, he has the best staff and the surgery clinic is ideal. Just wonderful, so go ahead, dont worry, and you will be so happy in the end. A bonus~I have worn glasses since I was 13 and now am seeing, without glasses, all the wonderful colors and crispness that was there all the time!!

My mom was referred to Dr Jani, for cataract surgery. I am not one to leave reviews but have to tell you the experience from beginning to end was top notch. Dr Jani took the time in the consult to explain the different options that are available with the lens replacement. My mom settled on an multifocal lens that allows her now to read without glasses and she is beyond happy. I am forever thankful for the outcome Dr Jani has with my mom!

I had cataract surgery on both eyes a week apart. Both surgical procedures went extremely well and the results were terrific. I can now see much clearer without glasses and the colors are so vivid. I would highly recommend Dr. Jani.

Very friendly, efficient and friendly staff. Brooke was at the check in desk, and handled the over-flow crowd with a smile: Debbie was my technician (very professional and good humored despite computer problems causing a backup of services). Nicki, the office manager, who was filling in for the surgery coordinator, explained the mechanics of setting up cataract surgery and handled the paperwork with great efficiency. Dr. Jani reviewed the surgery options available and as usual made me feel I was in very professional hands. Only problem is the fact that despite the office efficiency, the appointments always run late.

Dr. Jani is a wonderful eye surgeon. The whole operation from beginning to end was actually a pleasure. Never had one problem. My vision is perfect now and I no longer need glasses to drive or read.

At age 54 Im young to have cataracts. My eye doctor found I had a 30% decrease in vision from the previous year and recommended Dr. Jani. I have to say this has been an unbelievable experience, at the level of miraculous. After having both eye surgeries, I have near perfect vision, Havent been able to see distance since the 4th grade and the color clarity is unreal. Dr. Jani is the best and his staff as well. They are caring and professional, describing each step of the way. Absolutely recommend and if I could give 10 stars I would. Thank you Dr. Jani!

Im scheduled for cataract surgery tomorrow and I got a call today, one day before, telling me that I have to pay $900.00; I asked if they have payment arrangements and they said no, that I need to pay that upfront or Dr. Jani wont do the surgery. What a nice surprise!Im giving him one star because if I dont put any, the system wont allow me to put my comment.I just canceled the surgery and found a reputable doctor who takes pride in caring for his patients.

Not pleased with Vista Eye office staff. They need to update their paperwork given to clients. People think they are paying for their lens at Vista Eye when actually the surgery center orders the lens once insurance is run. The paperwork given states you Pay Vista but this is not so. The paperwork given is the his fee to complete the procedure NOT the lens costs. The surgery center gets the blunt of the complaint since this is their last stop before surgery. This is not noted on the forms given. Beware of the paperwork and the quickness for them to get you to sign. Also, Vista Eye office needs to learn mathematics. I needed a lens to correct my astigmatism which isn’t covered by insurance. I understand. They stated it would be $2600 more. Once all said and done it was $3500 more. They are giving false information to their clients. Before signing with them, I would contemplate another opinion. Biggest complaint: there are 2 fees paid. 1: Dr. Jani fee to complete the procedure. 2: the surgery center fee for use of the facility and the lens.

The doctor was pleasant and I had no problems with him, however their billing practices leave a lot to be desired. I recieved my first bill over 2 months after my visit, which I paid promptly. Then I received another bill, which I went in to the office in person, to inquire about, and was told that I didnt owe any further money and to disregard the billed amount. I kept receiving bills, which caused me to go back a second and third time, to find out what was going on. I again was told that there was a zero balance owed on the bill, and not to pay. Eventually I was informed that I did in fact, owe the billed amount because they only billed me for my deductible on the first bill, and not my copay on the visit. Why on earth, would you wait until 2 months AFTER my visit to bill me for the deductible and not also bill me for the copay at the same time? This was incredibly confusing, and in my personal opinion, a bad way to conduct business. Why wouldnt you, as a business, just wait until insurance settled their portion of the bill, and then send the patient one bill, with the deductible and copay included? Why would you think, someone would want to drag out this confusion for months, all while being told that they didnt owe the amount that they were being sent bills for? This is so unprofessional, and the office I visited at 927 Maple Grove Drive in Fredericksburg Virginia, didnt have a clue what was going on. I was even given a transaction of charges on 7/25/2019 showing that I had a zero balance owed, and was in fact owed a refund of $16.71. I contacted the BBB after going back and forth with them, and only afterwards was I told that the amount that appeared to be a credit owed to me was actually applied to my remaining balance, once they applied the copay that I owed, still leaving me a balance owed of $34.73. Had they just explained this from the very beginning, I would have been happy to pay it. I dont have a problem paying my bills, if I know I owe the money. I do however, have a problem paying a bill that I was told that I didnt owe, and told not to pay it. After all of this confusion and stress dealing with this mess, I will never be going back to this business, and would never recommend anyone else use them either. I have never had a doctor bill me 2 seperate bills over one visit, unless I had lab work done, which is understandable. Any other doctors visits, I receive one bill with both the deductible and copay combined. This makes it much easier to make one payment, rather than having to write out 2 separate checks, especially considering that this place doesnt accept credit card payments for bills sent out by mail. You would think that a business like this, would have their account information, up to date and in a more efficient billing format, than this, after all, its 2019 and no excuse for such confusion.

I was scared to death to have cataract surgery. Dr. Jani walked me through every step of the procedure and allayed my fears. He was able to explain complex medical terms in a way that I understood, without talking down to me. Everyone on his staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. I never felt rushed or patronized.

Dr. Jani is most professional and thorough in every aspect of his care. He masterfully executed my Photo-Refractive Kerotectomy (PRK) procedure at the Whitten Laser Eye Center with the help of their specialist immediately resulting in the best vision of my life. After Dr. Jani performed cataract surgery for my Mom and saw the treatment she received, I decided to have Lasik done. The process (from initial consultation through the procedure and the subsequent follow-ups) was and has been great. Dr. Jani and his staff have all been great. Oh, and at my 3 week check-up my vision was about 20-15. I couldnt ask for better. Would definitely recommend Vista Eye Specialists to anyone who is considering having corrective surgery done.

As a child I had trauma to my eye and for my entire life it has been very difficult to have anything get close to my eye. I even have difficulty getting drops in my eyes. When I was told that I had to have cataract surgery, I had so many emotions.....I was so scared that I could not do it, my anxiety level on a scale of 1 - 10, was a 12. After meeting with Dr. Jani and his staff, I felt so much better. Days after my first appointment, I had more questions. They made me another appointment so I could discuss my concerns with Dr. Jani. They all were very understanding about my issues and concerns and did everything to assure me that I was in very good hands and everything would be OK. I had the surgery and it went very well. Everyone at the Surgical Center was also very accommodating to me and my concerns as well. I cant thank them enough for all their help and support during this time of high anxiety for me. I know when the time comes for me to have the other eye done, I will be going back to Dr. Jani and the Surgical Center.

Dr. Jani and his entire staff were unbelievably friendly. They were always available to answer calls or questions, and dealt with my anxiety the day of the surgery calmly and positively. The office was modern and professional, and the whole process of assessment, scheduling, surgery, and aftercare was clear and efficient. Less than 18 hours after the surgery my vision was already 20/20 with no irritation. I highly recommend this office if you are considering Lasik.

Update: Im definitely giving Dr. Jani and VES that last star. =) My follow up appointment was prompt (even early because I was early). The staff showed great improvement in customer service, and Dr. Jani took extra time making sure any previous issues were addressed to utmost satisfaction. Okay, that doesn’t sound like I’m 100% satisfied, but I am, so let me clarify…Dr. Jani and Dee (the procedure nurse) are both 10 stars! They were fantastic, especially Dee. Dr. Jani took a ton of time at all my appointments to answer questions from both Andrew (husband) and me, make sure I was a-okay with everything, and clarify every part of the procedure and afterwards. I never felt rushed. He really did take the time to explain everything.During the procedure Dr. Jani had constant communication. It was incredibly reassuring to have ongoing verbal cues: everything from “here’s what is happening;” to “now get ready for this;” and the continual “keep holding, keep holding, okay you’re done!”Dee deserves huge props too. She was very calming before the procedure! Dee made sure to re-answer any questions, explain every step in detail, and literally held my hand before, during, and after. The woman is a rock!So, why not 5 stars? Well, the office staff of VES could use a touch more training in terms of customer service. If you go with Dr. Jani, you’ll be super happy with his demeanor, abilities, etc. However, be prepared to wait…for a long time. His office is extremely busy, which indicates to me he’s very good at his job. BUT, that appointment time you scheduled is about 30-40 minutes before you actually go back. I’m an “on time” kind of gal, so this greatly perturbed me.Also, there were a couple of instances of staff flubs: 1) staff didn’t schedule an appointment Dr. Jani requested (he worked me in anyway because he needed to check my eyes one last time before my procedure); 2) a prescription for my drops wasn’t called in (not a huge issue because I caught it well in advance of my procedure and sent a message requesting them); 3) the receptionist didn’t confirm an appointment (you get a recorded message for appointment confirmations, but it played before my message system picked up, so all I got was Dr. Jani’s phone number; I called and they didn’t seem to understand the issue. It took a few tries to get them to give me my appointment time, and then the receptionist hung up on me).There it is: love Dee and Dr. Jani, but a few issues with staff and wait times. Other than that, I wish the procedure had been local, rather than driving to Richmond. It was a bit of work for Andrew to move court to drive me, but it all worked out.Overall, I’d absolutely recommend Dr. Jani for anyone considering Lasik. Also, it was a bit of Catholic cool to have my procedure on the Feast of St. Lucy (patron saint of blindness), but that is just personal AWESOME!

I have had more difficult hair cuts than having the cataracts removed from both of my eyes by Dr. Jani. Not only is his office, and the surgery center, relaxing and comfortable, but the procedure itself was a breeze. And as a result, I can see as I did when young. Great staff and great job. Horrible Experience.A day before my wifes surgery they called asking for $1000.00. We have insurance and everything was pre approved. The doctor claimed that he wanted his money upfront and he did not want to wait for insurance to pay.This Dr. must have money problems or he is only interested in money and not the well being of the patient.Stay away from this guy.

A bit apprehensive at first, but I am glad I had the eye surgery. No complications at all. Dr Jani explained everything and gave me the opportunity to ask questions. No more bi-focals to wear again. The Vistaeye Staff and Surgi-Center Staff were exceptional. Job Well Done!!

I am 73 years young and Dr. Jani came highly recommended to me by friends. I have worn contacts and glasses since 1991 and my desire after cataracts were removed was to read without glasses or contacts.I met with Dr. Jani and he was very sensitive to my needs, knowledgeable and spent time with me as to the choices of lens and procedures.I had my first surgery July 3, and second one Aug. 7 of this year.He and his staff prepared me for the whole procedure and recovery.I had my final check-up yesterday Sept. 10 and I am proud to say I have 20/20 vision. I highly recommend Dr. Jani and the Culpeper Surgery Center. I had the multi-focal lens implanted on each eye, yes I have some halo around lights and use Tac and Amber sun glasses to help in that area.It is a small price to pay to be able to read, see intermediate and distance without glasses or contacts. I had LASIK surgery about a month ago, and I am thrilled with my results. Everyone at Vista Eye Specialists is professional and friendly. Dr. Jani is an excellent doctor. He was very thorough before my procedure, and was calm and comforting during the surgery. I have had no issues with my eyes, and I have 20/15 vision. I would recommend this practice to anyone who is interested in getting LASIK. They also have financing options available, including Care Credit. Its the best money I have ever spent.

My Optometrist could no longer prescribe proper eye glasses due to severe cataracts in both eyes. I asked for a recommendation for a surgeon in the local Spotsylvania, Va. area. She recommend Dr. Binoy Jani. My wife and I both worked for the Government and asked several of our friends to see if any of them had experience with Dr. Jani. From our experience, we know there is no group of people as nit-picky and demanding as Government folks. We found four of our friends had their cataract surgery done by Dr. Jani. Every one praised him and his staff and gave him a firm 5.0 evaluation after completion of surgery. Dr. Jani was able to operate on both of my eyes safely within 7 days at the Surgi-Center of Central Virginia (great facility and staff) in Fredericksburg, Va., and on the 8th day my distance vision was 20/15 with the Monofocal IOL. I will still need glasses for my near vision, but I planned for that. This 67 year old man can now see perfectly from just a few feet away to the horizon. I can now drive safely at night anywhere (even in the rain), watch TV without glasses, walk in the rain and snow without glasses getting wet, clouded, or fogged up, and I can enjoy amusement parks and vacation spots a whole lot more. Highly recommend Dr. Jani and his staff. Just follow their advice and all will be well. This is one happy senior citizen!

I went to Dr. Jani at the recommendation of Dr. Thomas Tsai, O.D.. After visiting four other Opthalmologists throughout Virginia, all giving me different diagnoses, I went to Dr. Jani for a second opinion from the last diagnosis . By going through trials to verify what was actually wrong, we found a solution - without surgery! After three years of unstable vision, I can see clearly with the aid of hard contacts!
