Customer service was fine in the past. I was a returning customer. The front desk staff is nice and helpful. I do not understand their waiting room policy. I was there for 45 minutes and watch another client come In and be taken care of after my appointment.

After two going on three years of going to this place, I am just bummed out. The doctor is awesome and I would give him a 4.5 on his own. The Customer service is just not very good, the ladies are not too friendly or welcoming.Last year I remember they moved into their new office and I had driven to their old place before realizing it changed. I still somehow ended up getting there for my appointment on time or maybe a minute or two late even. The eye place had not even opened yet when I got there, and it had snowed the day before maybe an inch or two, so roads were icy. The office lady came in late and complained about the snow making her late (Okay Fair).I waited in the waiting room for about 15-20 minutes, not a big deal- I had no problem waiting and did not think anything of it at the time. UNTIL this year, I schedualed my appointment and I choose to stick with them because I like the doctor! Even though I live about 30 minutes away- I wanted to continue to go there. So I drove to my appointment this year and was about 5-7 minutes late when I got to the desk, I would say. The office ladies turned me away and offered to reschedual later that day or for another day. I had work later so I choose to come another day and reschedualed with them. So much driving :(A few days pass, and they call me to let me know they need to reschedual my appointment AGAIN (Third time now) due to a schedual error. THANK GOSH THEY CAUGHT IT! Thats honestly it, I am so over it. Really, please train your staff OR provide your staff with the proper toals to schedual appointments well and professionally.I have never had to deal with this elsewhere. I do not even understand how if that is your main job how multiple appointments mistakenly happen at the same time on the same day. I pay a lot of money for contacts and was going to buy BOTH glasses and contacts this time.I do not think I can any longer convince myself to drive 30 minutes their way. Just a bummer man! Especially when the doctor is great. I have tried so hard to be understanding with them, but can only deal with so much. I honestly wish you all the best and hope this helps improve your business rather then hurt. Many people do not speak up and will just leave.

For the first time ever, a dr took the time to explain the answers to my questions instead of dismissing me because they had another appointment waiting. I am so grateful that I stumbled across this place. The ladies at the front desk have been so helpful and so kind with everything (and believe me, I had plenty of questions for them, too). Dr Wiarda is the best eye doctor Ive seen in my 45 years of wearing contacts and glasses. He explained things about my eye health that I never knew, and debunked myths other doctors have told me over the years. He patiently and scientifically suggested a change in my contacts regime that resulted in the best daily wear I have ever experienced! No other doctor has ever taken the time to discuss my options to come to this perfect solution. With this new regime, my eyewear costs have been reduced by more than 50%. Dr Wiarda willingly took the time to talk in detail about my eyes, and I dont recall the last time I have been so happy about an eye appointment! The office staff is also very knowledgeable, personable, and professional, and the office is comfortable and easy to access. My daughter has been in prescription glasses from the age of 3 and I have never felt as confident as I do in Dr. Wiardas exams and knowledge. He actually took the time needed to make sure my daughter understood the exam and the time needed to get her prescription correct. A week after wearing her new contact prescription she said she doesnt think she has ever seen this clear. He got her prescription correct, I do not feel like that has been done until now. I’ve been to a number of eye doctors over the past 5 years because I’ve lived in different cities. Colorado Optometry - the staff, the doctors - were the most approachable, knowledgeable, transparent, and friendly I’ve encountered. There is a prevalence of macular degeneration in my family and regardless of whether or not I shared this, the staff ensured my access to a variety of exams and imagery and explained in depth to me what we can determine from the imaging, which was enlightening and informative, far better than just dilation and the chance of no follow up. I feel like I’m far better equipped to take care of my eyes in the long term and prevent disease. I’m excited to be rooting down in a town where I can continue a relationship with Colorado Optometry. I had bought a pair of safety glasses and I tried wearing them for a number of weeks at which point my eyes couldnt adjust to. I wanted to return them but the office manager kept giving me the run around saying because I brought in an outside prescription which by the way is only 4 months old that maybe my eyes changed and that I needed to go back to another office. Rather than compromising and trying to keep me satisfied. I would not recommend this business to anyone.

I cant speak highly enough about Colorado Optometry! The staff are very helpful and friendly. Dr. Wiarda is extremely knowledgable and always provides a very thorough eye exam. He truly cares about his patients and is always happy to answer questions and address concerns. There is no doubt in my mind that I am receiving the highest level of care at Colorado Optometry. In addition to great service and care, they have a terrific selection of glasses. I no longer live in Ft. Collins, but I cant imagine going anywhere else!

Buyer beware - they are very inflexible and unaccommodating regarding appointments and cancellations. I am a night shift worker and as anyone who works shift work and especially nights knows, finding care providers who understand the challenges of us bleary eyed exhausted people who are sometimes so tired we sleep through three alarms is extremely important. I was hopeful for this place because my previous eye doctor is in Loveland and after this place was recommended to me I thought maybe I wouldnt have to make the drive anymore. But alas, I am going to my appointment today but will not be staying with this practice, as I stayed up for an hour after work this morning (when I could have tried to get an hour sleep in... Should have!) so that I could call them and properly ask for a reschedule because of work circumstances. No, the receptionist said, youll be charged for today anyway and if you reschedule youll be charged for both. So I will stay up again today and work another night shift tonight on little sleep. I get that there is a cancellation policy, especially within 24 hrs, and its their right to enforce it as they wish - but in my experience most care providers are more understanding of fellow health care shift workers, and if we do the courtesy of calling and asking, instead of no-call/no-show, they do try to accommodate. Clearly this is not one of those providers, so after today I will be returning to Eisenhower Eyecare in Loveland, where Dr Brent Fidler is very nice and as a small family practice he might not have the flashiest corporate office space but he and his wife in the front office treat you like family instead of an inconvenience.Update: so the practice just called me back, and waived the cancellation fee if I choose to not go to them. I appreciate that they are paying attention to these reviews and calling, but my observations still stand - they state they are very strict on their cancellation policy because they have been burned in the past by people overusing it, and so they treat every person The same with no exceptions. I understand the frustration they must feel at having inconsiderate patients - but they also left me feeling like I was still just a number to them and that if they were going to be so adamantly inflexible that this would not be a good practice to be in. The fact that there is a cancellation policy is not unusual, but the extent to which they insist on it is. I have opted to cancel my appointment now and not to use them as a provider, and I provide this review simply to stress to anyone considering them that you will need to have a very flexible schedule yourself as they will not accommodate any emergencies.

Wouldn’t recommend, just a place trying to get you into the next highest eye adjustment. Denied a previous request for getting a prescription copy since they don’t like competing with 1800 Contacts.Didn’t recognize specific eye issues that lense crafters did ( Myopia ) till I brought it up. Had to come in twice to get my eye glasses adjusted and ended up fixing it myself.Spent probably over 1k over the years and will not return.

This was my first time needing eye correction. Each step was carefully explained to me. The staff and Dr. Wiarda answered all of my questions. I am very happy with my experience and my new glasses!

Astigmatisms are not this offices strong suit. While Dr. Wardia was knowledgeable, I was told with the shape of my eyes that it would be difficult finding the right fit of contact lens - he told me this after he gave me a pair to wear already - he said he gave me the pointiest lens he could find... The pointiest size is not an accurate measurement and its inappropriate to mention that you dont have the proper equipment to give me the correct prescription AFTER I had them on. I was given a quick 3D image review on the anatomy and health of my eyes and its more than Ive ever gotten from any optometrist so I really appreciate that. However, I was not given any more information on my condition so I was left with many questions - On your website it mentions possible reasons for pointed corneas, why wasnt this doctor informed? Anyway, I was told $45 for an exam without insurance and $50-$90 for contact exam without insurance and in total was $160 without insurance and you must pay up front until they hear from your insurance, that was surprising but fine. All of that I could handle but after my appointment the doctor made me feel pressured into buying another frame because I had a broken leg on my glasses that I crudely glued back on - I admit it looked silly if you took them off but they took that as an opportunity to pass them around the office like was a joke - from the desk managers to the doctors - so, that annoyed me because I use things until they have no value, I know thats hard to understand for most people though. Another thing that rubbed me the wrong way, I could not understand the very last distortion test Dr. Wardia gave me. He seemed very frustrated and short with me even after apologizing and asking to be more descriptive with what line he wanted me to read (he didnt seem to know what columns or rows were?) - he simply repeated himself every. single. time. which was obviously not going to help me if I couldnt understand what he wanted in the first place. In fact, he was pretty short the entire time with little things - I left feeling like a doormat and just relieved to be out of there - I likely wont return even though they let me cancel their follow-up contact lens appointment - for what? To see if he can find an even pointier lens I guess...

Being in my thirties, and having worn glasses/contacts since the 2nd grade, I have been to over a dozen ophthalmologists and optometrists over the last few decades, and of these experiences, Dr. Wiarda at Colorado Optometry has provided the best, professional care. This is why Im writing my first google review.- From a patient experience perspective, Dr. Wiarda was attentive, detail-oriented, and thorough. I had just visited an ophthalmologist in Denver, and at the recommendation of a friend, come to Dr. Wiarda for a second opinion. While I asked similar questions to both the MD I had seen in Denver and Dr. Wiarda, it was Dr. Wiarda that listened to my concerns and identified why my glasses had been giving me a headache. We also found that my prescription did not appropriately account for my mild astigmatism. Where other doctors have been cursory, Dr. Wiarda took the time to listen and test/re-test my sight reading so I could walk out with my best vision.- Another consideration is technology. Dr. Wiardas office has invested in optical health and vision equipment that I have not seen in other offices. a) Colorado Optometry uses a non-contact tonometer rather than the traditional puff tonometer. This means no more air puff tests (which are both uncomfortable and less clinically accurate).b) Dr. Wiarda uses an autorefractor for more precise prescriptions.c) Dr. Wiarda also has a threshold visual field machine (its like playing a video game) to look for blind spots in peripheral vision. This is a much more sophisticated replacement for reading your doctors fingers while staring straight ahead.d) Lastly, theres the optomap, which is a retinal imaging system that takes several color images of your eye from all angles. In the past, only the doctor had access to my eye through a lengthy dilation, now with Dr. Wiarda, both him and I could see and review these images together to look for retinal detachment, glaucoma risk etc.. All this within minutes and without the temporary side effects of dilated eyes. Dr. Wiarda was also very thorough in answering my questions and walking me through these images.We all deserve the best vision, and with the right care, we can see our best at any age. I have always had corrected vision that was slightly worse than 20/20; after having my prescription corrected with Dr. Wiarda, I am seeing better than 20/20, at 20/15. Not all doctors and/or their facilities are the same, and both my sister and I will continue driving up from Denver to see Dr. Wiarda for our routine exams. He really is the best eye doctor Ive had. Not to mention the staff are equally thoughtful and professional as well.Everyone should be educated about the resources available to them to choose the right doctor, and I highly recommend Dr. Wiarda if you want attentive, compassionate care, updated technology for more precise eye health checks, and you want to see your best. I cant imagine why I would go see anyone else. Thank you, Dr. Wiarda and team!

Every part of my experience with Colorado Optometry was phenomenal. The office staff were friendly, efficient, and eager to help when I had questions. During the initial examination the staff explained each step and were very conscious of both speed and my comfort. They did everything possible to make sure I was not left waiting for long to see the optometrist. Dr. Wiarda was impressive in his knowledge and professional manner, and went out of his way to make sure I understood what concerns and changes affected my eyesight. While Dr, Wiarda was efficient, he was never brusque or rude. After my examination the staff was extremely helpful in selecting a new pair of frames from an extensive array of options. Certainly one of the best eye doctor visits and practices I have ever used, I will definitely continue to use Colorado Optometry.

Everyone was so great! Ive lived in foco for one yr and am proud to say that Ive now found my eye dr.

I am so glad I found Dr. Wiarda and Colorado Optometry! Dr. Wiarda is very professional and knowledgeable, and offers multiple solutions and answers all of your questions. I had reported dry eye to every optometrist I have seen for years and received advice to use eye drops. Dr. Wiarda is the first doctor to suggest punctal plugs, a painless and quick procedure that keeps the tears from draining from your eyes. What a difference this has made for me! First Dr. Wiarda placed temporary plugs (lasting 3-5 days) to see if it made a difference for me. I noticed right away when the plugs dissolved, and made the decision to get permanent plugs. It took 5 minutes and makes such a difference. I work in front of a computer all day and this procedure has taken away the burning pain. I also have to compliment the staff...they are up beat, professional, courteous, and thorough. I highly recommend Colirado Optometry!

Dr. Wiarda and staff are extremely knowledgeable, professional, and caring. I came in and was immediately greeted by the front desk and was explained the details of my appointment, through limited paperwork, and the technicians insurance and optical knowledge. The initial pretesting was quick and thorough, and was taken into the exam room in a timely manner. I came in experiencing eye strain and Dr. Wiarda recommended the anti-fatigue glasses lens for my eyes. What a world of difference! After hours on the computer my eyes no longer feel like exploding! Contact lens options were also explained and I was ordered test lenses to try for comfort. How awesome is that!?! Overall my appointment was timely, with great service, and my eyes feel refreshed. Not to mention the physical office has great graphics and fengshui. I highly recommend Dr. Wiarda and staff for your eye care needs!

From my very first step through their door, I understood why our son recommended Dr. Wiarda so highly (trust me, that alone gives yall 10 stars!) .I was greeted with a bright smile and a hearty Hello! Welcome! The entire staff made me feel as a long-time patient! The Staff found more insurance coverage than I even knew I had! The State of the Art equipment and technology was impressive. But most impressive, for me, was Dr. Wiardas patience with me. He knew how one should respond to the Which is more clear test. I told him of the difficulty I had with this particular test with my former Optometrist, whose visits always ended with the same Over the counter Readers are fine, as there doesnt appear to be any problems with your vision 10 years later, I KNEW something was wrong with my eyesight. And there was, and Dr. Wiarda, very patiently, took the time to check and double check and indeed, found my vision problems were not just from dry eyes. He was able to make a spot on diagnosis, I received my new Trifocals yesterday - wow. No wonder I had never ending eye fatigue! My beautiful new glasses fit perfect, I hardly know I have them on, except everything is now crystal clear!Because I have a form of MD, that normally starts with the eyes - blurred vision, double vision and my favorite Fly Vision, i was so relieved to have followed my sons wisdom and add Dr. Wiarda to my Medical Staff. Only the BEST make that list. I have 5 beautiful grandchildren that I am now able to see clearer than ever before. Also, because the new prescription lenses have managed to end the eye fatigue issue, I no longer have to deal with the onset of full body fatigue that I wrote off as part of my illness.Dr. Wiarda CARES! He was concerned about one of the tests I took, having me take the test again when I picked up my Glasses. I wasnt aware how much the peripheral vision test could help diagnose other possible problems. I passed with flying colors yesterday. Thank you Doctor Noah and your awesome staff!
