My kids are getting ready to have their wisdom teeth out in a couple of weeks. At the consultation, the staff was very friendly and made the kids feel more comfortable about getting the procedure done. Everything, including the financial explanation, was straight forward and easy to understand.

Getting my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Thurgood was truly the worst experience of my life. I entered the office extremely anxious and upset, and he was immediately condescending, dismissive, and refused to answer my questions prior to the procedure. Despite having called the office several times to inform them of my anxiety, Dr. Thurgood ignored it completely. It took him nine attempts to place my IV, and each time he became progressively more frustrated. He was in a terrifying state- throwing his hands in the air and muttering under his breath that it was not working. Rather than acknowledging me, he would only speak to my parents who were in the room, saying things like, “She is too agitated. She needs to calm down. This won’t work.” When I asked if he had finally placed the IV properly, he simply refused to answer me and ignored the question. Each IV attempt was extremely painful as he was incredibly aggressive. However, when he finally did place an IV that worked after 45 minutes, Dr. Thurgood did not inform me that he would be administering the sedative and therefore I went to sleep not knowing what was happening and in sheer terror. There have been many negative effects of the experience. Most notable is the psychological fallout: panic attacks and nightmares daily. The surgery is constantly replaying in my head, making it difficult to function. However, I am also in severe pain in my hands and wrists at all times. My primary care provider believes that I have significant nerve damage caused by the IV work that may never go away. It is now difficult for me to do daily tasks like typing and writing. I attempted to reach out to Dr. Thurgood multiple times following the incident, especially because there was no follow-up whatsoever from the office, however neither he nor any of his staff responded at any point. Do yourself a favor: avoid this practice at all costs. Dr. Thurgood will treat you like a profit and not a person, and lacks the human decency to provide any respect.

I was nervous when I entered this officeBlue Sky in Fort Collins where absolutely the best in professional demeanor and craft greeted me with kind words. It wasnt what I would consider my favorite thing to do but my oral surgery went very well. Thanks to all of the staff for being so patient and nice to me. I am returning for two more extractions and am not as anxious about the procedure. Five 🌟s.

Although Im not thrilled to have teeth removed, I dont think I could have selected a nicer group of people to do it! They were very professional and more than merely competent. They were also extremely friendly and accommodating! Prior to having my procedure the Office Manager walked me through what to expect financially and what my insurance might and might not pay for. I had a very clear idea prior to going in what it would cost me. The sedation I requested was handled very comfortably and I had minimal pain after the anesthesia wore off. Id like to think I will never have any other teeth pulled, but if I do, I will definitely go back to Blue Sky!

Staff was welcoming and friendly, procedure was easy. It is unfortunate that we didnt receive the three prescriptions for my daughter until after her surgery. It would have been nice had I been able to go get them filled prior to picking her up post op. As a result, she had to sit in the car while I went into the pharmacy and waited 30 minutes for them to be filled. Inconvenient and uncomfortable for her post surgery.

I had a bad review on Dr Bley and it somehow got put on BlueSkys. I Dont know how that happened. Unless Google goes by address, not the name. Just need people to know BlueSky is 5 stars. The old place was the one star.These are the best Oral Surgeons in Colorado and i am actually excited to get my oral surgery done here. This is the only place ill use for my oral surgery needs. Highly recommend to friends and family.

Very professional. Explained what was going to occur every step of the procedure. Experienced no pain at all. The cost of the procedure was also explained to me, I.e. what the insurance would cover, my out of pocket, and times when some of the charges might not be covered.

The Blue Sky team is great and easy to work with! All of their work is exceptional, the 3D X-ray shows bone growth that I can see over time and the results have very good. I recommend seeing Blue Sky for any inserts, extractions or 3D X-ray work you need.

It was a pleasant experience considering its the dentist office. Everyone very professional and friendly. I was worried due to the virus, but I have to say they took the situation serious and used every precaution. That did aleve some of anxiety. Dont know why I started to cough and so embarrassing.

Dr. Checked my tooth and did a root canal later that day. Luckily had a open time I could get in. Everyone very caring and professional.

I was here for a procedure, everything went well and I payed the cost upfront. 2 weeks elapse and I have a bill for $75. Completely made up, and no information given. I will never go back, nor recommend this place to anyone. Would give negative stars if possible.

Im a college student out here and was not very excited about having my wisdom teeth pulled without my mom here, but this team made me feel so comfortable and taken care of. Not happy with my experience. While they do have a very friendly staff, there has been several issues with my bills. The front staff does not communicate clearly and had a hard time understanding what I was saying.When in my initial appointment I wasnt given any time to answer questions Dr. Thurgood barely looked at my x-rays before deciding what to do. I felt like I was money to them instead of a patient.The surgery went well but a week after I noticed something weird, my cheek is stitched to my gum. My wisdom teeth are healed but I still cant eat or smile or yawn or sneeze because I cant move my cheeks.I was also not given any aftercare instructions. Everything that I know is what I looked up from the internet. The only reason i have this place two stars is because the nurses were very friendly and helpful.

I had my wisdom teeth extraction done by Dr. Thurgood. He was extremely skilled and made me feel very comfortable. I was very pleased with the services.HOWEVER, because of a (what I would consider a significant) mistake on the accounts payable/receptionists part (twice), I was forced to pay around $2800 out of pocket when they told me I was out of network.They were nice about it and informed me they would submit the claim on my behalf to my insurance for the refund. However, turns out they are in network and I never needed to pay anything out of pocket. Not only that, but the claim they submitted resulted in them being paid AGAIN by my insurance company, rather than me receiving the refund.Now, nearly two months later, and after a couple anxious phone calls, they still have not given me any refund. Not only that, but they haven’t even responded since our last conversation more than a couple weeks ago in which I was promised to have this resolved the next day!It’s a shame for the Doctor, who clearly needs a more competent staff. I understand mistakes happen, but this has taken much too long to resolve, and meanwhile, my flawless credit is taking the hit for it because I had to put the balance on my credit card (which, for the first time in the 5 years I’ve had it, will not be paid off in full before being charged interest!).

I enjoyed the staff. They were supportive and helpful in calming me down. The only thing I was irritated about was the attitude of the main dentist. He was rather short and didn’t talk to me much.

Dr. Thurgood showed me my xrays (taken standing, in a futuristic, cylindrical xray machine) before we began a lengthy process, so I was able to observe my own healing firsthand. The staff was helpful, personable, and highly professional. I opted to be awake during my procedures, and witnessed the teams composure. I also had good experiences with other dental professionals to whom I was referred by the Blue Sky team. I highly recommend Blue Sky OMS!

I was happy with my experience until I got a dry socket and had to go back to get it looked at. When I left that day they told me to call back if I was still experiencing pain so I did. Since Im obviously not a dentist I have no idea why they would want me to call back. Maybe to come in sooner? I dont know. Well the doctor called me back and without me even asking he automatically assumed I was calling for a prescription. To me this is very unprofessional considering I was doing what was asked of me.

Everything went smooth sailing, don’t even remember being put under.

At 32, my wisdom teeth started coming in and I was referred to Blue Sky. Not only where they able to get me in for a consult quickly, they were able to book around my crazy schedule for actual removal.They were more than accommodating to my fear of needles and past trauma with dental procedures (they were willing to give me gas before the IV and put me out for the entire procedure - no new trauma!). The staff was fantastic across every interaction, including my follow up calls weeks after the extraction. AND their pricing was comparable to other offices I called but included the sedation I needed to be comfortable.I was shocked at a number of things that went better than expected:- The whole extraction (2 lower wisdoms) took something like 20-30 minutes. We checked in and were back in the car heading home in less than an hour. I think this had a huge impact on my recovery since my body barely had time to notice things were happening before they were complete.- I had no *noticeable* external swelling at any point during the healing process (I could feel it internally, but no chipmunk cheeks).- I had significantly less pain than I expected (as compared to others that had described their experiences). Almost no pain the first few days (of course I was on pain meds), then aching for about a week, but nothing acute. I was off regular continuous use Ibuprofen doses in less than 5 days, at which point I went to as needed. I took only 3 potent prescribed pain meds through the entire recover process. Wow!I would highly recommend Blue Sky and will definitely use again!! Thanks so much for a great experience (how often do you get to say that about this kind of thing?)!

For my first time seeing an Oral Surgeon in 29 years I was terrified! I did lots of research trying to find a doctor that I trusted and felt comfortable with getting all 4 wisdom teeth removed. After many hours of internet research on Oral Surgeons I finally decided to schedule a consultation with Dr. Thurgood.First Id like to bring attention to his office and staff. Walking into his office was everything you would want it to be. Very clean, very relaxing and VERY friendly (this includes the Operatory). The front desk girls and dental assistants were the most pleasant people Ive ever encountered at a medical office and I had worked in dental for 7 years prior! After my procedure I was nervous that something was wrong so I called the office Monday morning (I saw them on a Thursday) and they saw me THAT day. They didnt make me feel like I was being a baby and seemed genuinely concerned for the way I was feeling!Secondly, Dr. Thurgood! Working in the dental field I have met many dentists and oral surgeons in my time; Multiple states and Multiple offices. Dr. Thurgood is the BEST by FAR! He is friendly, caring, and listens to every concern you have. I did not for a second feel like he was getting annoyed with my 1000 questions I had. When he put in the IV sedation I didnt feel a THING! I would recommend him to everyone even in a different state!!! I would absolutely hands down see him again!Finally, the dreaded billing. At the end of your consult they will give you an estimate of what you should except. I ended up paying more as I had rollover benefits. I did not even have to CALL them to make them aware. By the time I looked at my EOB I already had a refund check in my hand!Long review short: I would recommend him to anyone and everyone who is in need of an oral surgeon! My experience with Dr. Thurgood ranks five stars out of five stars! I have a bleeding disorder, Von Willebrand Disease, which can keep me from receiving care from some surgeons because of liability issues. On the occasion when I need dental care beyond dental cleaning or cavity filling, I get the run around and it is very frustrating for me to find a competent dentist or oral surgeon to address my bleeding disorder needs. My fears of surgery are increased due to awaking during a surgical procedure. At my surgical consult meeting with Dr. Thurgood, he was highly professional, knew exactly what my needs would be to address my bleeding disorder, and I felt he was trustworthy right away! I had an appointment with another oral surgeon who had to cancel my surgery due to a serious accident. I was delighted to know the same procedure performed by Dr. Thurgood would be half the cost of the previous doctor. I had a slight complication of a dry socket and I was not charged for two extra visits to remedy the pain and discomfort making sure I was comfortable and healing well. Complications to procedures are common for me with my bleeding disorder. I was shocked to know there would be no extra charge. I received excellent care and recommend Dr. Thurgood to everyone in need of his services. His staff is highly professional and completed the insurance paperwork with no problems. The staff is caring and I felt I received the best care I have had in years from them. Thank you Dr. Thurgood and staff for your care, concern, and excellent skills.
