First time here. The staff were very nice and knowledgeable. I didnt need to have my eyes dilated, instead they have a machine that takes a picture of each eye, crazy what technology advances there have been. The doctor was reassuring and explained everything. The optician, Roger was awesome. I will definitely be going back.

Both my husband and I visited today to have eye exams and pick our glasses and we both absolutely loved our experience! From the point you enter to the time you leave every single person we encountered (front desk, nurses, doctor, eye glass specialists) was warm, friendly, caring, and an absolute pleasure to interact with. We cannot recommend them highly enough!

I’ve always enjoyed my experience here. Staff is professional and obviously treated very well. There’s a comfortable family feel of an environment, the equipment is all advanced as the name says. Everything is explained really well through the process of the appointment even the insurance coverage and billing.I saw Dr. Hollenbeck a few years back and wasn’t able to for a while due to an insurance switch but as soon as I got back to coverage with them in the network I booked an appointment to come back. Still the same!

In nearly 50 years of having eye exams and fittings for visual supports, this was by far the best experience I have ever had! Every member of the staff was supportive, positive, and thorough in performing their particular function. Dr. Gallinger was clear and understandable in reviewing the results! His approach to determining lense strengths and clarity was the best I have ever had! In all, it was a very positive experience! I am grateful that I found Advanced Eye Care at Covington! Thanks to each one of you! You were great!

Just, no. They messed up my prescription by giving me an unnecessary reading power that made everything worse, which then forced me to get more expensive progressive lenses for the unnecessary portion (all of this was confirmed as unnecessary with a different doctors exam somewhere else). When I had questions about it, I had to call in several times until someone would actually allow me to pass on a question to the doctor (a few just said no, they couldnt), and even then, the doctor was rude and condescending when I finally got a call back. (This finally made me bite the bullet and pay for another exam elsewhere as I was done with this place.) And dont even start me on how overpriced their glasses are, or how the instant you say youre not interested and ask for the prescription, they turn cold and rude. Ive since found a much, much better place than this (the other place corrected my prescription, thank goodness, and I can read properly again).

Staff was very friendly! I brought my 4 yr old son with me and they are all very patience and nice to him as well. Roger was also very professional and helpful when choosing frames and explaining my health benefits coverage to me. Great experience.

My visit where I paid for my glasses was great. Of course it was, right? The ladies were super friendly and helpful. Picking up. Not so much. They didnt confirm they were correct, and they werent, then some guy tried to pawn off the floor model as new until I asked if they were used. In which case he told me they were the floor model but new. Cant be the pair a hundred people tried on and new at the same time. Great job.

Everyone was so nice and friendly. It was so clean and they washed and sanitized themselves and the machines constantly. I always have a hard time choosing frames and they made it so easy for me. This was the worst exam experience I’ve ever had. After doing all the tests they were unable to give me a prescription for my contacts and gave a story about how they’d have to make them in such first and then I would get a prescription but also they didn’t have pricing for them until after they were created and made for me. I’ve never been someplace where they didn’t do the tests and then from them I have a prescription for you. That’s kind of the point! I have an optometrist friend who I told about it and she said it was very backwards and seemed like they were trying to make sure that I got my contacts from them and didn’t take my prescription someplace else and that they were doing it in a very dishonest way. They also wanted to charge me today for that future contact creating which I refused to pay when it was for services not yet rendered. I will not be going back.

The supporting staff were wonderful. However, the individual assigned to examining my eyes was less than informative or helpful. Even after explaining my concern over 24/7 exposure to second-hand smoke and the constant irritation and dryness to my eyes, he had no advice, feedback, or interest. I hope on my next appointment that I am assigned to someone with more knowledge about my concerns.

I am so thankful I called Advanced Eye Care to follow up on an eye issue that was concerning me. They got me in same day and were helpful and efficient. The exam was thorough and I felt so much peace of mind after my appointment. Other offices in the area couldn’t get me in for an exam for over a week. I will be coming back for all of my future eye health and vision needs.

I always get good eye care from Advanced Eye Care. The doctor is focused, answers my questions as he can, tends to what my eye health needs are & their staff is friendly, professional & helpful with frame & lense needs or interests. They look into your insurance provisions & will advise, yet also listen & will work with you to accomplish what you’re aiming for if they can. I would recommend them highly! I have been seen for glasses, contacts & an eye infection. I’m grateful for the care I’ve received there!

I would give 5 stars for the STAFF, but Dr. Hollenbecks incredibly unprofessional and rude behavior is what makes me leave this review.The 1st time I met Dr. Hollenbeck, he seemed a little rushed and annoyed at any questions I asked. I wrote it off to be a very busy day (I used to work at a walk-in medical clinic and I know how difficult some days can be).The next visit was a nightmare and I was speechless at how rude, condescending, and impatient this man was.It just caught me so off-guard.I had a couple questions I needed to ask about my first time wearing contact lenses, he acted like Im a 4-yr old kid nagging him while hes trying to watch TV.He literally turned his back to me, holding the door he opened, while I was asking one of my questions, BARELY muttered a reply (facing ahead of him!), and left.The staff looked shocked/embarrassed? and Im just glad I didnt cry in front of anyone there.I left this clinic after my experience and found the most caring, amazing ophthalmologist ever, at a much cleaner clinic.

Ive been going here for a couple years now and Ive always been treated good, and they always have great equipment. Theyre always precise and during this whole covid-19 mess, theyve adapted successfully (hopefully more soon with the restrictions loosening up).

Advanced Eye Care of Covington provides great service in a timely fashion. The Tech called me in to the testing room within 15 minutes of arrival and ran me through a battery of new client tests. They also have a new camera that allows for imaging the retina without dilation! After the tests the Optometrist met with me and tuned up eyeglasses prescription. He also listened to my issues with dry eyes and gave me a prescription for a new drug that already seems to be working well. Great, well organized practice!

On Sunday I had something get into my eye and was causing me tons of discomfort. I called first thing Monday morning and they were able to get me that afternoon and help flush out my eye. So grateful they go above and beyond to take care of their patients!

Trying to get my daughter’s prescription on their “patient portal” and it’s nowhere to be found. Nor is my own prescription or my wife’s. Seems like there is a need to work on the technology and make the portal user friendly.

Today was my first visit at Advanced Eye Care of Covington and it was pretty great. I first met with Ashlyn, who was thorough with making sure the instruments were nice and disinfected. I then had my full eye exam with Dr. Grady Hollenbeck and he was so nice and explained all of my eye care options. Finally I met with Roger, who was equally fantastic with making sure the frames that we selected worked with my everyday lifestyle. They had a phenomenal selection of eyeglasses. I ended up getting one frame for everyday and another for computer use. Overall, this place was awesome and I highly recommend checking it out for all of your eye care needs.

What a great experience here! We have been going here for a few years now, and every time we come there is such a sense of family that we are actually excited to see the optometrist. The doctor was very knowledgable and helped me understand all the crazy PhD level terminology about eyes. Highly recommend if you can find an appointment window!

I love coming here! No, this isn’t a paid review! I’m real lolI stumble upon this place through my benefits page. The first time I came here, I was left with a great impressions by all of the staffs and doctors! I moved away for a few years then came back and the first place came to my mind was this place! Dr. Brady was amazing and didn’t tricked me into any service I didn’t need or contact lenses or glasses.My prescription didn’t changed and he didn’t tricked me into getting new glasses so that’s a plus! I end up getting a prescription sunglasses and even the staff offer to get my second choice at a lower cost until my new benefits kicks in from new employer but I end up getting the more expensive pair anyway.Overall, EVERYONE were super nice and didn’t treat me like a second class citizen. Love love love this place and will be bringing my family here only!

One of the staff attendants tried to make me feel like it was my fault that they processed my prescription incorrectly. Ive explicitly stated that I need far distance glasses but they made me computer glasses instead without even confirming with me. The apology I received was not genuine and they kept acting defensive, making excuses as to why they messed up instead of fully taking accountability for their error. Their customer service needs work.

Absolutely fantastic place. The doctors are great, the front office staff are exceptional. I recently have been in there multiple times between my daughter, who’s likes to brake glasses and myself for contacts and sunglasses. Very patient and they go over every detail about pricing options and insurance coverages. I have worked in customer service for 20 years and preach to my own staff the importance of customer interactions and how important it is to take care of your customers as well as be yourself. Theresa (pretty confidant thats her name) is great! i go in for new glasses about 2 x per year. my kids break my glasses frequently. and she is great at helping me pick out new glasses. plus she is pretty friendly and i get the vibe that she gives me honest opinions on frames and doesnt try to upsell me unnecessarily.The front desk employees are always very nice and friendly and polite.The doctors are great too. I have had some issues with contact lenses but i am working on getting that fixed. mostly, its been a slow process for me because i havent made the time to get it fixed. the staff here are patient and work with me with any issues that do arise (i think the only issue has been the contacts).anyways, i would recommend this place 100%. Ive seen a lot of children in the waiting area as well, so it looks like parents trust this place for their kids needs as well.and the place is super clean and organized. Free coffee and refrigerated water are offered here while you wait. overall, i am happy being a patient here.

Best eye service I’ve ever received and I’ve really been struggling with my eyes. I’ve been to several eye doctors in the last few years and Dr. Hollenbeck was by far the best. I’m in the process of ordering frames so I’m really hopeful that this prescription will work for me. I was impressed by the high level of technology and loved it that they didn’t have to dilate my eyes. The minute I walked in the door to the minute I left, all staff was friendly, efficient and professional. My husband had encouraged me for years to go to this place. I don’t know why I waited so long! It’s so encouraging to know that this level of professionalism and service not only exists, but exists in Covington!

I had an appointment back in April that was cancelled due to Covid-19 it was rescheduled for June when I made the appointment I asked about cost I gave my insurance info and was told my exam was covered. Not until a few days before my appointment I received a text confirming my appointment and also telling me that a Optomap retinal imaging is $39, required for all exams. I text back to see why I had to do this I did not want to pay $39.00 for this. She said because of Covid-19 they had to use this machine. I asked if insurance would pay for this and she said no. I asked if I could opt out and she said no. I asked if I could speak to the Doctor to get more info on this she said she would give him the message but he is very busy. On Monday the office manager called me to tell me the same thing I said I wanted to speak to the Doctor she said he is busy but she would try and give me a call. She called back a few hours later and told me that the Doctor is too busy to talk to me and if I do not want to pay for this they will cancel my appointment. I said I was a new patient and it was a really nice way to speak to a patient. Also they are a business and without patients they don’t have a business.Do I made an appointment with another Doctor and I asked if they have any charges for Covid-19 they said there is a machine they use and that is $25.00 but I could opt out on it. I believe this Doctor is taking advantage of his patients and charging this fee. I think it’s disgusting and he should not have a business any longer and hopefully others will see this and not go to him.
