My experience with all staff from appointment to receptionist to physicians has been positive. Helpful and pleasant, and if they do not know the answer gets me to right place; it may take some time but its large health hospital system and I get to the right place and get an answer. Yes at times the time there have been long time for the stages of the appointment, but my last appointment I arrived early and went in right away and went through the two stages then ad a bit of wait for doctor to caught up to me , but given the number they see and a teaching hospital, it seems reasonable time spent for appointment. I have never encounter a rude staff.

I must agree that reception isnt friendyand waiting room time can be long, but my doctors saved my life.I was admitted at a local hospital and developed a severe eye infection that spread to my brain.I was discharged so I could be examined by my ophthalmologist who had the equipment to do so.It had not healed from the base, creating an anaerobic pocket forClostridia perffrigens (gangrene) to flourish.I was rushed to the ER at the U of I to finallyrest pain-free. Several hours later ( about 10 p.m. ) the chief of service arrived to look at the original and new slides and confer with other specialists. All agreed it was Clostridia perffrigens.I was awake and knew what that meant. The pharmacist had to create some custume deep freeze and other drops to be used separately at different times around the clock. My husband took me home to make sure there were no slip-ups. There werent. We became commuters for three weeks. The infection healed, but restoring blood vessels took longer. But when restored, my only problem was a corneal ulcer. Internal contacts were used and my vision was nearly perfect. I cant be critical of the care I received. Thats what mattered.

Took my dad there for following up. The waiting time sucks. It took more than 15 minutes to just check in. We have appointment st 11:15am and arrived earlier since other checkup done earlier. We checked in around 9:15am and did not even get seen after 12:24pm (as I m writing this review, we r still waiting to be seen).I recalled last month when they helped set up this appointment and took more than 30 minutes to just setup appointment. I believe they really need to improve the service and efficiency

The wait times here are insane, dont ever expect to spend less than 2 hours in this office. I came here because my local retina specialist suggested it because they are some of the best in the Midwest. But when you have to commute a couple hours to the city, pay to park, spend half a day waiting around to be seen, then commute back, all the while using a whole vacation day from work, it is really frustrating.Get an early morning appointment if you can, it will be the shortest wait, as problems with other patients through the day can really back things up. If you get an afternoon appointment you could easily be there for 3 hours waiting. If you have a 1pm appointment you may not actually see the doctor until 4pm.

I made an appointment for 12:30 and was told to arrive 15 minutes early and plan to spend one to two hours at the exam. Since I live in the far northwestern suburbs, I left home at 10:30. I didn’t get home until 8:10. I am satisfied with the diagnosis but more than 9 hours for an eye doctor appointment is ridiculous! With a 12:30 appointment I should have been seen before 4:30, right?

Dr. Lim is fantastic.I have Myopia Degeneration. She is great - I may never be totally cured, she but has helped me so much. I am amazed that on her clinic days - she may see 35 - 40 patients.ALL matter. If you can’t see her - see Dr. Chau. Both are excellent doctors. The vision techs - have had nearly all of them. Some listen more. Others remember more. Some I would grade 5 stars, only a couple would get 3 from me.The office staff. Overworked but good-hearted. I cannot say anything bad about them. They can be bombarded with calls on some weekdays. I find if I catch them near the end of Day - more can be done.

Dr Jain is one of the best doctors Ive had the chance to see. He was the eigth doctor I had seen in regard to my debilitating dry eyes. In what seemed like moments he had a diagnosis, non classical presentation of thyroid eye disease. It took 10 months and eight doctors to finally get an answer. He gave me autologous serum and compounded steroids which is the pinnacle of care. I would suggest anyone with dry eye go see Dr Jain and get to the root of your problem. The waits are long, but its expected. They treat A LOT of people here. They offer PROSE lenses...if theres anything you need, they have it.The only negatives I can genuinely complain about is not getting a call back. On 4 occasions I called and asked for help, my phone call was only returned twice. Luckily I have a corneal and external disease specialist I can fall back on for scripts and guidance. Dr Kaufman calls me back in minutes.

I tried to contact the doctor multiple times over a period of 2 weeks for contact prescription for an exam I had during the school year for $100. When they finally got back to me I was told my prescription from my first follow up had expired and that they wouldnt be able to give it to me. But what bothered me was every time I had to explain that I had come in for my first follow up because they would keep saying I never came back. As for the second follow up, the doctor told me I would receive a phone call that my contacts are in so I could come in. The front desk told me they always call, but I did not receive any voicemails or notifications from them. If this would have happened during the school year, I would have lost it. I was able to call multiple times now because I didnt have classes. I would recommend Walmart Vision Center, exams are $80 and they seem to be more flexible. However, the doctor was very nice during my exam and explained everything and my regular prescription exam went well, there was no miscommunication there.

My niece went to the doctor they said she would have Retinal Detachment doubled her prescription (inaccurately) and and if You have any issues go to the ER. I felt they only said this to her out of spite for having to leave early and not have her eyes dialiated. They were not being very clear. She returns for another appoint and while her eyes are being dialated a large older male and office manager stands over her and yells at her about his staff and for her complaint about the diagnosis. They also shined lights on her eyes for more than an hour with no resolution but to say they see spots and to go to another branch in the facility which I also felt was out of spite. If you have sensitive eyes and need real caring assistance I would not recommend this faculty!!!! .........Yet again based on the response below they don’t own up to their behavior. Horrible experience and follow up with dilation even worse. Not enough.
