I have been going to this facility for going on six years and I have never had one negative experience. The staff is professional and friendly. They move to get you in and out quickly. It’s so much better than going to an emergency room. There have been a little longer wait times because of Covid and that should be expected and understood. I’d give them 10 stars for the work they do!

Great urgent care, high quality of care despite being very busy. Good distancing and mask adherence. Recommended the same follow up care my rheumatologist had advised. Very clean and good location.

I have always been extremely pleased with the care received at Patient First on Taylor Road. Their hours accommodate me whenever I’ve needed their care. Staff are professional and courteous, including front desk check in, technicians, nurses and doctors. The doctors have always been thorough and have run tests when they thought it was necessary to determine or rule out a diagnosis. I also like that I am able to obtain my prescriptions there if I prefer to, which I do. I am very thankful to have Patient First available at those times when my own doctors are unavailable or unable to see me on short notice. I would recommend this facility to anyone.

My experience was top tier. They almost immediately gave attention to my needs when I was hurting in the waiting room. I really appreciate the supporting staff who made me feel as comfortable as possible during my time there. I was thinking about asking for something but I decided not to bother because I know things are hectic during the pandemic, but sure enough the nurse there came in to ask if I was thirsty and comfortable. Great staff!

I always seem to have a smooth transition through the check-in process to the discharge process with Patient First. I would refer anyone to go there if their regular office isnt open because they dont have to worry about long wait times to be seen like I have experienced at other facilities outside of PF.

My mother has Alzheimer’s, so sometimes her concerns are not taken seriously. The doctor showed compassion and respect for us and shared his personal experience of a watching a loved one suffer with this disease. It truly melted my heart. The young lady taking vitals and the lab technician were absolutely delightful. I would definitely recommend that my friends and family seek medical care at this Patient First location.

From the front desk through discharge, the service I received was efficient, courteous, and kind. I was treated with respect, professionalism, and warmth. I will definitely visit again (if needed). The entire staff was excellent, even the staff who did not directly service me were intentional in greeting me and in wishing me well after my visit. And I was in and out for the visit. Definitely a stellar experience.

Everyone was great! Walked in, registered, sat down, and was taken back immediately! The doctor did a great job with truly checking my eye to see if had been scratched or if I had pink eye. Great work everyone!

The staff at Patient First were courteous however the Physician assigned to me was rather abrupt and rude. The only reason why I didnt walk out and leave was due to waiting on my results. Im not sure what screening process they use to acquire the physicians but this was a horrible experience with the doctor. I will not be returning.

Apparently if you have an outstanding balance that you never received a bill from they will not see you after you wait for 45 minutes! Don’t forget the fact that they like to call people ahead of you! The nurse came out and looked at my finger short hair gray with glasses told me it wasn’t her problem and walked off please do not waste your time to go there they are very rude

I walked into the Patient First on a Monday morning. I registered and before I could be seated they called me back. I spoke to a very friendly intake person who was very good at her job. She quickly interest my information. She asked me to go wait to be called by the nurse. Once again before I could be seated a nurse met me in the hall and walked me back. She too was happy and friendly as she took my vitals. She then took me to a patient room and within 10 minutes the Dr came in. He asked questions he checked me over. Found the problem and gave me a prescription. I had the BEST experience Ive ever had at a doctors office. I was in and out and treated with the utmost respect and care. Thank you Patient First. Youre the Best.

Do not come to this facility if you want a rapid covid test. The physician was completely dismissive of my sons symptoms, as he never even evaluated his condition. He simply came in the room and gave me the covid paperwork with information for his school. His demeanor was rude and nonchalant. I am extremely disappointed in the service provided.

Make sure you choose your words very carefully when checking in. I happened to make a mistake when speaking with the lady that takes your ID and insurance card and upon trying to correct it I was told now if I wanted service I had to pay out of pocket even though I have insurance. Made absolutely no sense to me. I dont recommend this place at all.

No zero star option? Asked for a COVID rapid test but they said 24 hrs was too soon after symptoms for valid results. (Never heard that before.) So I got a PCR test instead. They billed my insurance over $300, it was denied, and they charged me $294 instead. Website said to expect about $100 cost if not covered by insurance. When I got tested at CVS last year, insurance covered everything. Called my insurance and they agreed I shouldnt have had to pay anything. It looks like PatientFirst coded the treatment in a way that gets them paid a whole lot more.

The front office staff and nursing staff were awesome. Although the PA Ms. Wolan was very argumentative when asked to send labs to a certain lab. She wasnt listening to why the specimens needed to be sent to this specific lab. It took three times of me asking her to check with lab if it was being sent to that lab. She told me next time I should go to the ER if I needed the labs to go to a certain lab. Very unprofessional. Does not listen to the patient.

The front desk and check in nurse were very patient and helpful, my doctor explained things clearly to me to understand and did so without talking down to me which I have experienced before elsewhere I really appreciate the care from all the staff. And this was when they were about to close and customer service was still extremely high.

The only purpose of this review is to make it known to Corporate, that Nick from billing, did a fantastic job helping me understand some of the things going on with my account, and even putting in the effort to reprocess the claims in house to ensure accuracy. someone like that deserves recognition.

The lab tech was wonderful - he explained things every step of the way. The wait was not long at all. The cleanliness was spot on! Staff professional and polite. What more can you ask for?!!

Wait time for a sports physical was 3 hours. Unacceptable. My physician was very nice though.

My not so good experience was with one of the male providers there, whom I would give a rating of two stars because of his bedside manner. Overall I give the center 4 & a half stars, because everyone else I encountered displayed a high level of mannerism. I suggest that if you feel apathetic energy while giving feedback about your treatment options, ask to see another provider. Always be an advocate for yourself and children, especially when it comes to medical care.

Quick, efficient, and helpful, but abrasive. It really set off my anxiety to be fussed at about not seeing a doctor for years, when I couldnt afford to and only recently could drive again. I didnt enjoy being chewed out, had to leave quick to cry in the car, but I did get the help I needed.

I was really disappointed in my visit because soon as the doctor came in and asked why was i there & i told him, he started complaining about how short staffed they are & how many patients being seen in an hour with 3 doctors on hand. I told him if my PCP had not told me to come there i definitely would not have come there. So he then had the audacity to ask me am i sure she told me to come there or the emergency room. I felt like he was very unprofessional at that point. So NO i WILL NOT recommend this PATIENTs FIRST to NO ONE and next time i will go to the ER. And i feel like nothing was accomplished. So please get them some help ASAP!!

From start to finish my experience was OUTSTANDING! It didn’t even feel like I was there long, and I was definitely there for at least 2.5 hours. From Mrs. Wanda in Patient Registration, to the Med Tech, the Nurse, the X-ray Tech, and the Doctor, I was very pleased with the level of service I was provided. I even loved the Patient Expectation writing on the wall. Definitely a World Class experience!

I took off work to go on a Monday two weeks ago for a rash on my shin, Dr Buttler prescribed me a steroid cream which was maybe 3oz. Its working but finished quick, so I called today and let them know It was working, it finished but Im pretty sure I need at least one more week. The nurse I spoke with told me the Dr. will not prescribe me the cream. Makes no sense to me at all. I can count on one hand how many times ive taken an aspirin in my life, or the doctors office. I go for help and I only get half cured.

Better then emergency room visit and wait time i like the fact i could wait in my car

The doctors here are all very rude and short with the patients. The nurses on the other hand are extremely nice (: the wait time was super long today though even though it wasn’t busy?? I say in my room for an hour and a half before being seen. Super frustrating.

I had an appointment and was promptly helped. I had to stay in my car for registration, but it was easy and fast. I was then seen and was attended to without any wait time. The staff was friendly and professional, and made me feel very at ease. Thanks to them, my visit was seamless and took a minimal of time. I will certainly go back if the need arises.

Sitting in the lobby the staff needs to learn how to call patients names correctly. Not just whispering there name and once and walking away when the patient is sitting around the corner is very unsatisfactory training of staff.

I am a veteran and was directed by the VA hospital to go to the Taylor Road location. They started my registration and when they saw there was a balance on my son from 2014 that legally I am not responsible for and I told them I could not pay it at the time...... I was basically told to go somewhere else to be treated ☹️

Everyone at this facility is extremely nice. Miss Thornton at the first desk was extremely kind and made me feel comfortable with our short interaction. I was very unhappy with the cleanliness of this location. I took a few pictures that I can send if you would like of hair and blood on the floor where I was waiting in the back for the doctor. If the cleanliness was not a factor it would be 10 out of 10.

I have worked with medical professionals in many capacities. This place was by far the most organized, efficiently ran and as an added bonus every single employee was extremely professional and kind. I went there today because I had taken my 20 yr old daughter there about a year ago. I always recommend this place to everyone. It is a great alternative to conventional doctors offices and Emergency Departments. Thanks to the entire team for taking such good care of me and my family. Please stay safe 💛

Patient First provides some of the best urgent care services I have ever experienced. I have never spent more than an hour from walking in the door to having a diagnosis. Ive been to a couple of locations in the area and never had a bad experience. The staff and providers are always incredibly nice, thorough, and on time. The male nurse I had last night at the Chesapeake location was exceptionally kind. The facilities are always clean and welcoming. I love that I can get x-rays and medications on-site without having to make a separate trip. When I got an x-ray last night I dont think more than 10 minutes past between having it done and the doctor coming in to show me them. I recommend Patient First to everyone I know in the area. So much better than going to the ER for minor things. And better hours than pharmacy clinics and other urgent cares.They take COVID protocols very seriously and I have always felt safe during my visits. Everyone was wearing masks, seated apart and things were cleaned constantly. Wonderful practice!

For the most part, Ive always loved going to Patient First. Theyre professional, caring and efficient. I was glad to know that was not treated like a number because I received a phone call over the weekend for further consideration. Another doctor took the time to review my x-rays again and called me at home to inform me of a more serious condition. It feel good to know that the first doctor treated my condition appropriately even though he wasnt an expert in radiology. And it surely felt reassuring for the 2nd doctor to pick up additional information from the x-ray and made sure that I was informed at once. Great team work and bed-side manner. Thanks so much!

I was very apprehensive about going to the Urgent Care but I was in pain. I didn’t want to be in a medical environment right now and my blood pressure showed it😊. The staff was great and I was waited on promptly. PA Leite was the best, he was patient, he listened to what I had to say, he examined what was going on to see for himself and then explained it to me so that I understood. Great bedside manner. It was clean and they were following protocol for social awareness and distancing. My blood pressure is back to its old self. 😊Thank you

The Patient First I go to ( @ 2425 Taylor Road in Chesapeake ) has been a fairly steady, go-to place. I have about 9 or 10 doctors currently and I always joke that its a shame that theyre actually my best doctor and that its too bad I cant choose them as my PCP.Though I dont think Ive yet made an appointment, calling them is always fast and easy; Ive never sat in their waiting room for more than 40 minutes (even when they are full), and I always get some actual results and answers when I visit instead of feeling like my visit was a waste of time and money, like I often do when seeing my regular doctors (whose standard answers include a hell of a lot of I dont knows).The staff is always nice and friendly and the docs are pretty good ones who actually listen instead of having their minds made up as soon as you sit down.During my last v visit I went there as a result of having a totally incompetent (IMHO) visit to my local Maryview ER for what a child could diagnose as cellulitis. My foot was literally the size of a pineapple and swelling fast enough to visibly see. The docs there told me I just had a boil and sent me home - foot exposed - to just wait around and lose my foot , I guess. So I went to patient first where they did a proper assessment and sent me ASAP to an ER in Chesapeake. There they diagnosed cellulitis and pumped me with round after round of IV antibiotics. Long story, I know, but the bottom line is, I can count on Patient First to know their stuff and do their job.

Called this site and got through to a live nurse Sonya who was super nice and knowledgeable about COVID PCR testing for travel. She gave me step by step instructions and now I feel like I can travel with no issues

The staff there is absolutely amazing. Ive never visited an urgent care facility where everyone was professional and courteous. From the time of arrival to the time I was taken to the back I was absolutely pleased. The evening staff gets a 5 star rating in my opinion.

Dr Biggs is absolutely wonderful. When I have to come for a visit, I always request him. He is very knowledgeable and kind. He takes his time with his patients and listens, which is a very important quality for a physician to have. The other staff members are caring and kind as well. I would highly recommend this location to everyone.

Wanda Thornton is the embodiment of excellent customer service. She greeted incoming guests, navigated patients, and provided me with clear information about my visit and what to expect.

Nothing felt welcoming about the visit. Felt more like a business transaction. What do you want and Go home type exchange. Very cold and impersonal. It was as if everyone was told Santa wasnt real on the same day. Just a very odd and uncomfortable vibe.

The Patient First at the Taylor Rd. Chesapeake VA - exercised social distancing as well provided hand sanitizing. The entrance/exist doors were constantly wiped down as a sanitizing process. Though the facility was crowded the check-in procedure was succinct and clear - and the wait time to be seen by a physician was much less than expected. The medical staff was caring and professional. This particular Patient First was very neat and clean, the receptionist was always paying attention to who walked in to make sure they were following pandemic guidelines. It was amazing how fast i got seen given the amount of people that were there. My doctor and nurse were both absolute blasts to be around, and they made sure to get me through the process quick and easy while being very informative and helpful.

Customer service is the quality that brings me back to this Patient First. Everyone, from the receptionist to the doctor were courteous and respectful. Everyone offered assistance and was concerned about my mobility. I appreciate the care and service.

I did not like how the PA only saw me for less than 5 minutes. I felt like they wrote me off because it was “busy”. I felt rushed while talking to the PA and I honestly just did not feel comfortable with the level of care I received. It’s unacceptable. I will not recommend that Patient First to anyone as long as there is a lack of care between the patient and physician.

Im sure most people would dread the idea of a COVID-19 test. But this was the easiest thing imaginable. The swab process wasnt the least bit uncomfortable. And I was in and out in 10 minutes. Well done!

Check in system is pretty trash. Waited 30 minutes after signing in just to be told we werent signed in to then wait 20 min to be see and still not registered.

This should be your LAST option! This isnt a place that people visit unless they HAVE to, so they should really be nicer. We felt like we were bothering them, waited forever but then rushed through the exam and shooed out the door! NEVER AGAIN!

I took my mom to this office 2 weeks ago only to find out that she was misdiagnosed for an eye condition and was given the wrong medication for it. She had to pay for it out of pocket before we left the clinic. This was a waste of time and money and the intake person should have advised us that they didnt have anyone on staff to properly examine eye conditions. My mom is 88 years old and could have suffered any number of side effects from their negligence. Im looking into getting a refund for the money she spent unnecessarily.

I specifically told the front desk receptionist that I did not want my Patient First visit records sent to my primary care doctor at Sentara. Patient First sent them anyway! Very Unhappy! My choice of privacy went completely out the window. How is this place called Patient First? Why even ask if my choice doesnt matter? I had good experiences with this place in the past and they respected my decision not to transfer my visit information but this totally changed my view. I will make sure I get it in writing next time if and only if I ever come here again. Thanks a lot Patient First for the confidentiality.

This was the worst experience at a patient first I have ever had. I waited here for 4 hours for a simple covid test and the physician assistant was so rude. I will never be coming back here I would rather stay sick than to be around people who have the crappiest attitudes. I ended up walking out and no one called to follow with my covid results. Thankfully I know I can check my patient portal for test information. 0/10 recommend Patient First on Taylor Rd.

Staff was very friendly and patient. Which was surprising considering they were so busy, I was expecting to be pushed through quickly, but everyone was very nice to me and treated me with a smile. I sure will be coming back if I need to in the future.

When i walked in, the ladies at the front counter didnt even welcome me. after i signed in, i went to fill out some paperwork, then was sent to wait back in the lobby. the male nurse who called me back wasnt very communicative and seemed to be rushing and not very welcoming. i get that i came in late but if i hadnt i would have had anxiety about it the whole weekend. i saw the doctor last and there wasnt much to say after he glanced at the issue i have on my foot and he handed me some paperwork, a prescription and to call a doctor monday morning . . . the overall process didnt feel welcoming or sincere. all i can say is thanks i guess for prescribing me medicine and recommending a doctor than can actually look more into my problem.

I had a family member go to Patient First with a 182/90 blood pressure. Followed up with a manual blood pressure of 156/80 (still high). Ultimately he was only diagnosed with dehydration and a headache. However, no replacement IV fluids were given. A simple test for dehydration (TILTS) was not performed. How did they come to this diagnosis! The high blood pressure was not addressed at all!! Furthermore, another member had to bring them water!! With having a Healthcare background I encouraged them to go to the ER. Upon arrival his blood pressure was still 188/90! I’ll be addressing the issue further.

I actually thought it was going to take some time but I actually got in and out quickly.

From the people at the front desk to the nurses to the doctors, I was really impressed with Patient First. I went their for a Covid 19 Antibody test and was not only satisfied with how safe I felt but how careful and friendly everyone was. 10/10 would recommend.

Clinic was understandably busy for the time of year and the current climate during the pandemic. Staff did a fantastic job under pressure and I greatly appreciate the care I was able to receive for a walk in.

Came in today for random drug test and waited over hour and half at least. Then supposedly the mask I had on was not good enough for someone in there and was told to put another mask on. Last I looked you were only required to wear a face covering not a specific type. I felt as if I was being targeted. I will not be back to this site and will be not recommend any come here.
