I was so beyond impressed with the nurses and the doctor during my visit!!! So unbelievably friendly, kind and caring! Amazing bedside manner!!!! I felt so sick that day and the nurses and doctor made me almost want to cry by how good they treated me. Most compassion I have ever experienced at a clinic!!! God bless them all.

I love Pt First on Cedar road. From start to finish staff professional, courteous and attentive. Lobby neat, clean, conducive to COVID Restrictions. I dont mind waiting when going to Pt first on Cedar Road.

I came in today and the place was super busy. I was so impressed by the happy attitudes of all the employees from the front desk to the doctors. Everyone was just very efficient and honestly they love their jobs. I’ve been to this location several times and I’m always happy with them.

Worst worst worst worst service ever, 4 hours waiting for just a covid test for my 16 years old son who cant go to school until he brings a negative covid test to the school. We will never ever come back to this place, is the second time here, the second bad experience and no more....Update... my husband was charged for a covid test $30 dlls with insirance, only him not me or my kid... the question is why if we all had the same symptoms. Awful service. Try Velocity is way better with Covid services.

Overall a very pleasant visit. I felt that I was taken seriously. The PA was very thorough with testing so I was confident that my symptoms were not life threatening. I was able to go home with peace of mind.

I am currently sitting here with my daughter to get a physical for camp. We have been sitting for close to 40 minutes in the back (not the waiting room) and there is nobody here. Literally nobody…. Ive been listening to the nurses have various conversations about their day to day… no since of urgency, or even a remote care for everyone just sitting…ridiculous. Waiting on a doctor for over 40 minutes in the back is pretty uncalled for.

Mrs. Parker is phenomenal. She takes time with you to talk and go over things. Definitely left feeling successful after she answered some questions I had! Overall a sweet, soft spoken, open hearted P.A.

Wait time was longer then the previous visits, but with the current global situation, its still better than the ER.

I’ve lived here almost 2 years and I’ve never been to patient first. Having three kids, we have had a handful of visits to urgent cares and even a few to the ER. I wasn’t aware that patient first had the ability to examine, treat and fulfill prescriptions. I love that everyone was kind and that it was such a quick and easy process. I knew I was going to need medication after my appointment and was researching 24 hour pharmacies until I was seen. Having an on-site pharmacy makes this facility several steps above other facilities. Going forward, this will be my go to location for urgent situations. Nothing is better than a one stop experience.

I went to Patient First to get my little sisters infection helped . We waited 2 1/2 hours to get seated into a room and then the nurse told us we had one person ahead of us to be seen. A half an hour later I asked again and then the nurse said the doctor left the building and wasn’t coming back. We were then told a different doctor would be with us in a few minutes but instead somebody comes to tell us we have to wait ANOTHER hour for a doctor to come help my little sister. My sister ended up leaving in pain still because I just don’t have the time to sit around for 4 hours. Don’t go here if you want actual help because you won’t get any.

After reading the reviews it seems as though this location is infamous for misdiagnoses. I went in for coughing with sharpness, wheezing, and extreme shortness of breath . Every person I interacted with was kind and professional and there was no long wait time at any point of the process. I checked in a opted to wait in my car. The lady at the front desk quickly said to me “Ma’am please don’t go outside we will be calling you very shortly” and they did. Within 15 minutes I was checked in and in a patient room. They completed a chest X-Ray and labs. The doctor’s dx was simple allergies. I specifically asked him if there was a chance that I was contagious. He reiterated that it was just simple allergies, wrote some prescriptions and sent me with a return to work note. I left PF and went to work (in a clinical setting). Immediately my team began questioning why I has in the building. I gave my note to the Business Office and explained to everyone that I was just having some reactions to all of the pollen. Around 3p, I began experiencing fatigue and decided to go home early to rest. By 8pm I was suffering with extreme chills and decided to check my temperature which read 102.2. I will need to go back to urgent care today making yesterday a complete waist of time not to mention I could have gotten a lot of vulnerable people sick. Customer service in this place was above average but spending time before a doctor and having to go visit a doctor again in less than 24 hours with the same symptoms is concerning especially since this seems to be recurrent with PF- Cedar Road.

Patient first provides a fantastic service for people of Chesapeake. Medical care available 14 hours everyday on a walk in bases. So nice to know you can get such good care without having to schedule an appointment.

Open every day and no appointments necessary. This place is an affordable alternative to the emergency room for issues that require attention but are not life threatening. Staff is friendly. I dont get sick often so I just use one of their doctors as my PCP on my health insurance.

Came in for a rapid response covid test, waited for 2 hours in the front lobby to when called back they attempted to separate me and my mother who where both showing symptoms. Finally got tested and then waited almost another 2 hours for a result because there was only one doctor in the building. If you appreciate your time or any sence of urgency go somewhere else!

I had such a fantastic experience today. This has been my primary care for years and I have always had great experiences at the Cedar Rd. location. But today I was particularly impressed. At 10:30 this morning when I arrived, the parking lot was full, the adjacent lot was filling up, the waiting area was full, and every room was full, but EVERY SINGLE staff member I encountered was super friendly and super patient, even on the phones. While the wait was lengthy (as was expected), it was overall a very great experience. This is what patients want from their doctors office but rarely get. Thank you Patient First Cedar Rd. for setting the example!

Wait time wasnt long and staff was friendly. I was upset I received a fake make shift splint, for my fractured ankle, instead of a boot. I have the right treatment and ortho appt so Im good to go now.

I have been to this office several times. I never wait long, it is very clean and the staff is pleasant. Yesterday I went and required a prescription.. The doctor told me my rx would be $50 if I got it there and would probably do better with the price if I went to my regular pharmacy. So I went to Kroger and it was $7. I really appreciated the doctor telling me that which he didn’t have to do. Saved me $43.

This was a travel sickness. I have never experienced such quick, effective and professional care as I did today at patient first. I have worked in healthcare and this location is professionally staffed, efficiently run and patient respect and kindness delivered!

I have never been treated so rudely by a nurse in my life. I will never go back to Cedar Rd PF. It’s so much easier to be KIND!

We brought our son in with a rash from head to toe. They ordered a strep test and when it came back negative, the PA offered nothing else. She wrote a prescription and said to follow up if there were any problems. Im not even sure how she wrote a prescription without even doing any further testing and knowing what was wrong. Such a waste and left wondering if our child was ok.

My service was fine. While waiting I observed another patient express an urgent need to see a doctor soonest. She was told unless she could not breath or was having a heart attack she had to wait. No more explanation, no offer of privacy for more questions or explanation. I suppose the front desk was following policy, but it appeared to me policy trumped common sense and basic human compassion. As if to rub salt in the ladies face, they then called a man who was there for a basic CDL Physical. I was called next and I told them I would defer my place in the que to the lady in distress, so they finally took her. Just a really bad look from my perspective.

When I first arrived I was instantly asked to put on a different mask other then what I had on. I simply complied bc it’s not like you have a choice (this is a free country remember) the lady had a very snark look in the process of this, anyways I was then talked to in a rude manner and constantly cut off while trying to explain why I was there. Everything was very rushed and both nurses who I interacted with kept looking at there watches for when they get off. The doctor that came in was very smug and rude and didn’t listen to anything I said no X-ray was done nothing turns out I have a major sprain in my back he insisted on it simply being my back thrown out after I specifically told him I know for sure that’s not the case I later was screaming trying to get up in the morning and my wife ended up taking me to the hospital where they stated I sprained my back. Hopefully next time is a better experience although we have been to this one twice and experienced a horrible time the time before this. Hopefully my survey is read and this problem is addressed accordingly.

Ms Parker always takes time to listen. I always feel like Im in good hands and not just a number.

Excellent service. Went in for covid testing. Came up positive and then my husband came in and got tested too. Dr. Michael Thompson is the best!! Excellent and down to earth personality!

The check-in process was easy and the wait time was maybe10 minutes. The female staff checked me in and took my payment for the visit.After I was weighed, I was following another female staff member to my private room.I was asked how I was feeling and they checked my vital signs. As I was resting in the room a female lab tech came to draw blood from me. This woman was a true gem since I didn’t feel the needle go into my arm. She had a great and soothing personality for this environment. Her upbeat personality put me at ease in this facility.When about 25-20 minutes a physician came into my room to get the details of why I was there. He was another gentleman who put me at ease after asking several questions. This doctor picked up quickly that my symptoms were consistent with a stomach virus. This doctor had the medication he spoke of there so I didn’t need to go to a pharmacy. He mentioned a stomach virus was going around and apparently I picked it up in a public place possibly at work.My visit was on August 25, 2020, and it started off dealing with a professional staff and ended up with the doctor. I prefer this Patient First location because of the professional staff and their soothing personality when I did not feel good.When I need their help again, I will return to this Patient First because all of the staff are pros. They made me feel accepted and relaxed while I was there.Kudos to all of the staff and the doctor. They know this process very well and they are very efficient. Everyone I know lives by a watch or clock so time is money. This staff does not waste time and they are very attentive to their patients. I came in for a visit the day before Thanksgiving, and the staff were all VERY pleasant, kind, and considerate. There was no hint of animosity or frustration by anyone in the clinic, and to me that says a lot! They were also very quick - I was in and out with Strep test results and medication in an hour!!! By far, the Patient First Team on Cedar Road is the best!!!

It was very well set up for Covid concerns. The touch screen after sanitizer was easy to use to register. The offer of waiting in your car was appreciated & the wait was minimal. Everyone was friendly, professional & helpful.

Lisa greeted me immediately, processed my check in , sent me to the others where they quickly took my vitals, addressed my problem and sent me on my way in record time. The PA took his time answering all of my questions with close attention to details. The people there were all awesome.

Nightmare of experience! The quick test was quick then the doctor asked to do a regular one too but guess what they FORGOT to send it out and made quarantine while having anxiety of not knowing when I call Karen lady was rude told me I had to do another test! Went back and still had to wait for the test after waiting for 4 days so the rude lady gave attitude again and I left! Stay away from this place !!! What a crazy nightmare

I have been to this location many times and the ladies who work up front doing check in are always very pleasant and efficient. The nurses in the back are also wonderful and very friendly. I saw the Physicians Assistant today and she was very informative and polite, her name was Katherine Wolan. 5 stars for sure!

Great Experience! Friendly staff! Left feeling confident that I had received the best care possible! Just recently turned 18 and this was my first time ever taking myself to the doctors, the staff at patient first made it an easy process! I was honestly a bit intimidated by the task of scheduling my own appointment, I didn’t know exactly what it would be like, but after my visit today at patient first I am no longer afraid of scheduling my own appointments, it was a breeze

Staff was very professional and attentive to issues.

Had to wait two hours to be seen, just to be misdiagnosed. They told me I had HPV despite having the HPV vaccine, and when treatment from PF didn’t work I went to a dermatologist and was correctly diagnosed and treated for molluscum contagiousum, a very common skin rash the doctor should have recognized. Also, I was misdiagnosed at a different location, being told I had tonsillitis... my tonsils were removed 17 years ago. Again had to wait two hours in the exam room to be seen, these happened at the Cedar Rd & Battlefield locations.

Went in for cellulitis. Only had to wait a few minutes even though the parking lot was almost full. They followed Covid precautions well. Waited to see doctor in room for about 10 minutes. The doctor did only a brief exam of my foot and gave me some antibiotics. The staff was friendly and polite. I was asked if I wanted them to fill the prescription for me or did I want to get it filled somewhere else. I had them fill it and it was only $1.10 for it. I didnt have to pay at the front before leaving. My insurance was billed. The overall experience was pleasant and quick. I would go back if necessary.

I have visited this facility for myself and family members. Everyone from front staff , nurses, X-ray personnel, PA and Drs are super nice and very professional. I was from another state and they bent over backwards to help me and my family. I also was grateful for their Covid testing and quick results. I would highly recommend this facility for your needs.

The staff and doctors were very courteous and knowledgeable explained every step of the covid-19 test. The receptionist was extremely helpful and extremely fast she really does a good job there I forget her name but kudos to her.

I visited this facility on a Monday morning. The attention I received was immediate. The only time I had to wait was for the PA, but that was 10 mins at best. Everyone was professional and kind. The PA explained everything to me including showing me and explaining my x-ray. I have always had positive experiences here and highly recommend it

Very professional and followed all Covid guidelines to protect others. Staff educated me on signing up for Patient First text to get test results and how to view my chart online. Bedside manner of my doctor who evaluated my symptoms and recommended texting was excellent and he answered all of my questions. From the front desk to the back my visit was very pleasant and safe. I am hoping to add Patient First as my PCP to my insurance.

I came in with my granddad for his left sided pain upon breathing I allowed him to check in but was observing him from a far in waiting room to see how he moves with this breathing pain as well as him with computers LOL . The waiting room was clean very organized I could here the Medical staff and nurses cheery and joyful as they call back the patients 2.. stood out one woman wore glasses had a curly Afro and had on a nice maroon color scrubs came to front called my granddad and took him to his room. She was so sweeet so soft spoken and never let us feel in the dark as we sat in the room I observed thru the curtain the other people. One nurse had a bun and she was very quick moving around the other lady had unicorns on her hat that was pink and had green or teal scrubs and she was sooooo bubbly and kind as she wiped beds across from us ..I even heard her whisper “I hope he is ok tonight” as we left ....I say that to say as a person sitting back as my granddad was seen it gives me joy to see women in healthcare in position and making treatment easy and enjoyable during the pandemic so cheerful and delightful idk there names but please hug them reward them acknowledge them they as well as Ms Parker who saw him they are what “patient first” stands for!!

The wait was lengthy but the front desk was very professional, the nurse I had was courteous, and Dr. Aldo Dumlao was professional. I recommend.

This was an efficient and easy place to get a covid test with an appointment. They were right on time, bring you in through the back door to minimize exposure and very polite nurses taking care of me.

This place wow. Very upset. I retract my survey. The checking in process I have no complaints about. I went there to do a drug test for an important job. A week later my results still weren’t back. Come to find out the lady that took my sample f’d up my seal tags and my test was thrown out. How hard is it to make sure the tags are correct! So now I have to drive back up to VA and spend more of my time money and put more miles on my car because the simplest task cannot be done. Thank you very much to the staff member who messed up my test. I wouldn’t use this place for a drug screen again that’s for sure and will not ever recommend this place to anyone.

Nurse Danielle Carter was awesome. Made the visit fun and relaxed. Got through my drug screen quick and easy. Wish all my doctors and nurses were more like her.

This is a really good location for me to go to when I’m sick. The wait is unpredictable but the staff is usually very nice. Only thing is my 5 yo isn’t a fan of this place. It doesn’t quite have the same finesse as our pediatrician office, which isn’t a deal breaker. Our office is close enough we can wait till it opens.

After being told that I have broken my big toe, I was given a hard shoe to wear, 30 tablets of 800 mg of Motrin only to find out 2 days later that the radiologist looked at my X-ray and my toe isn’t broken at all.Wow, no wonder people have a hard time trusting doctors.

The world is in a very serious time and we appreciate all of the first responders for their professionalism their kindness and understanding. it’s nice to know that patient first have have such caring persons on the front line.

Be prepared to stand by for over 2 hours even when they are not busy. But youre told that itll only be a 15 minute wait.

Patient First has turned into a first come, first served, instead of seeing top priority patients first. Had a seizure and waited 1 hour to just be registered and 4 hours total to see a physician. 95% of patients were Covid patients. Patients need to be screened and prioritized right when they walk in. Priority patients need registered quicker and seen faster. Covid patients should have a separate waiting area away from others, as everyone is crammed together in the same waiting area. Staff and physician were very friendly and I was treated well. I was pretty annoyed when a family of 8 showed up and they registered them immediately and jumped the entire line of 40+ people. 3 stars bc it is better than going to the ER and staff is always nice. You all were amazing and so helpful. Initially I went to the NowCare on Volvo Parkway. They immediately told me to go to my car and call them from there. I understood and complied. Waited about 5 minutes for them to answer my call. Once they took basic information I was told that a doctor will call me soon for a tele-health appointment. The doctor called me an hour later even though they only had 1/4 of the patients that you all had. After listening to my symptoms they said it wasn’t covid or strep. Refused to do a throat swab (even though I was still in the parking lot of their facility) and diagnosed me with a viral throat infection. Let me know there was nothing I could take for it. They also told me that I’m not contagious and can work as normal.Their diagnosis didn’t sit right with me. I am a sports coach and work with athletes and other trainers daily and I also have a young son at home so I went to you all for a second opinion. You all were so efficient and showed how you really care for your patients every step of the way. After getting checked in, I think I only waited 45 minutes before I was called back. You all did the proper testing and correctly diagnosed me with strep throat which I know is contagious. So glad I didn’t return to work right away like the doctor from NowCare told me I could. Can’t thank you all enough for actually doing your jobs. It’s been less than 24 hrs and I’m already feeling better with the right medication. Thank you!

The support staff who are in the back should try to keep their conversations about other patients and issues they may have had with them, to themselves or at least quiet enough that the patients who are in the rooms waiting cannot hear it!

It is safe to say that me and my family will officially cross the Cedar Road Patients First off of our list. On multiple occasions going to this location, we were always met with a lengthy wait... never failed. The waiting room would be empty but still always an unexplainable wait. And the ultimate worst was the doctors mis-diagnosed my husband and my son on separate occasions for ailments they ended up going to the emergency room only too be told it was something else. The worst service.
