From the time Shannon went over my pre-op, to my pre-op nurse Yuni and the best anesthesiologist EVER until I was sent out the door, it was a wonderful experience if ever a colonoscopy and endoscopy could be one! I recently had a health scare and needed to do colonoscopy quickly. Dr. Amaro was very kind enough to accommodate me despite his busy schedule and I was able to setup a doctor’s visit and followed up with a colonoscopy within a week. He brings in a confidence that helps to calm down a patient. He is very thorough, attentive and excellent communicator. He performed the colonoscopy and thankfully everything turned out okay for me. I really had the best experience with Dr. Amaro and his whole team, everyone was very professional. I would highly recommend him.

I waited nearly 2 months for an appointment, arrived 30 mins early to complete paperwork that took me 5 mins to complete and then waited 30 mins past my appointment time before being called back. The office was loud and chaotic. While interacting with the Dr, he was not empathetic and I feel he looked at me only as dollar signs. Dr. Amaro refused to complete 2 mins of very simple paperwork my company requested that caused a bunch of extra stress in my life. The staff failed to update my information that caused my meds to go to the wrong place. This delayed me from getting medicine for 2 days and forced me to call and explain the doctors mess-ups to multiple pharmacist. I would never recommend this place to anyone and ended up cancelling my surgery and taking my business else where. I do not trust this Dr.

Dr. Amaro specializes in strictures. With his assistance, I hope to be back to my normal routine in no time. I’m glad I have a doctor that personally calls me to discuss my results and takes me through step-by-step through this journey of healing.

The waiting room is entirely too small and crowded with what few chairs they have. The sliding door is completely obnoxious and the personnel behind the front desk are rude. I feel that I shouldnt have had to pay my co pay because they called me in to deliver bad news!!! On the other hand, Dr. Amaro is really great. He was very sincere and compassionate when giving me the bad news.

They both gave him high marks which I appreciated since this was my first time seeing doctor Amaro. One of the neighbors is a retired doctor so he knows who a good and caring doctor is. Dr. Amaro was extremely helpful, kind, and patient. He seemed sincerely concerned about my health, and how best he could be of benefit. He assured me that he would take good care of me and he did just that! I approached my procedure with trepidation, however, Dr. Amaro allowed me to feel as comfortable as possible.

I went to Dr. Amaro for my 10 year colonoscopy as he was recommended by my PCP. He was late getting to the office due to an emergency at the hospital, so with new patient check-in, vitals and waiting for the doctor, I was there an hour. I found Dr. Amaro to be a kind, caring individual. He was attentive while I listed my history, he asked questions, answered all of my questions, and added two more tests due to his concern of my condition. Before the procedure he assured me and made sure I was comfortable; then went over the procedure with me. Afterwards, he came to recovery, explained what he had found and answered my many questions about my condition. I trust him to give me the best treatment going forward.

Dr. Amaro takes his time and explains procedures. He also allows you to ask any questions without feeling rushed. Ive been waiting for an ECRP for months and he scheduled me right away!! He also has extensive knowledge and experience with this procedure, which you need if having this done.

Dr. Amaro is professional, knowledgeable and spent time with me! The office staff are also efficient and friendly.My only complaint is that the physical facility where the offices and registration are is awful. Old torn furniture. Duct tape on carpet. Cant see through dirty windows and furniture in exam room was equally as old as the waiting room. This is NOT where they do procedures. Procedures are done next door in a nice surgical center.

Dr. Amaro was increible. I have spent months trying to find someone to listen to my concerns and hear what I am saying. Dr. Amaro addressed all of my concerns and asked detailed questions based on the extensive list of symptoms I provided him with. We scheduled tests to find the root cause of my distress. He is the only doctor Ive had in austin that didnt make me feel rushed or invalidated. I know Im in good hands and trust his judgement entirely. I highly reccomend Dr. Amaro.

We actually went to Dr. Amaro because our first choice was not available when we really needed to see a doctor. Dr. Amaro is wonderful--thoughtful, compassionate, kind and patient. He took all the time we needed to discuss our issues. His Medical Assistant, Lily, is the most responsive Assistant we have had in all of our other physician encounters. They are taking really good care of my husband!

Dr. Amaro and Shanika were absolutely AMAZING! They listened to everything I had to say and were so encouraging. I went in telling my husband there was no way I was going to let anyone give me an endoscopy, and left feeling so comfortable that I let them schedule me one!So far I have nothing but great things to say. Dr. Amaro has been amazing for my wife. She went to several GIs and he was the only one to figure out what was going on with her. ANYTIME she has had any concerns or was sick, he has always been there for her and made sure she was ok. From phone calls to check on her, to procedures, to hospitalizations, even if she had doubts. The experience of my colonoscopy was fine. Nurses, NP’s, techs, and doctor were all great. It was after the fact that I wasn’t happy with. No follow up calls, never returned my phone call when I had questions, etc. the NP was more helpful in helping me figure out my issue but I still would never return again. Just felt like another patient giving them money.

My son has C.F. and is a mult-organ transplant recipient ( lung/liver and kidney) trying to find an Austin doctor willing and capable of working with all the transplant teams from Baylor St. Lukes in Houston is not easy. We are usually forced to make the drive to Houston but have been lucky to find a few key doctors in the Austin area that we feel comfortable with and Houston doctors approve of - Dr. Amaro is one of them.

Dr. Amaro is fantastic. I love that his clinic is not part of one of the huge medical systems that runs patients through like cattle. My son received fast appointments, genuine care and concern, and excellent medical care. Our insurance is forcing us to switch Drs but Dr. Amaro and his staff have worked hard to connect us to another good GI doc on our plan. We sad to change, but I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Amaro and TDD in Cedar Park.
