Do your self a favor and find another dentist. A Dr. miss handled a treatment and miss treated my wife and when confronted about it does nothing. Says its not their problem that she has high anxiety that we cant Handel, now pay up. Save your self time, money, and some pain, and go somewhere else.

I am probably approaching the 20 year mark with this office. I keep going back because they are efficient, caring and professional. Even though I no longer live nearby it is worth the drive.

I went in for a cleaning. Covid protocols were still in place, but not onerous, just wise. I was seen to quickly and competently. The office staff was excellent- engaged, trained, fast. Such a smoothly run office.

Such a great experience here today! Lydia was my dental hygienist and she was so easy-going and professional. My name was called within 5 min or so of arrival (we did all paperwork online in advance) and I was out of there in about 35 min. They do have very advance technology and entertainment (TV) for you to enjoy while you get your pearly whites polished 😀My husband had his cleaning last week and was also very satisfied. We certainly recommend this dentist.

My family and I have been going to this dentist for 7 years. I called to make an appointment because I was in severe pain. After verifying my medical coverage Liz then tells me she needs my dental insurance info which I didn’t have at the time and she proceeds to tell me in order to schedule an appointment I would need to call my HR department and get the information which is a lie because they can verify coverage via DOB and SS#. Needless to say my family and I won’t be going back thanks to the rude office staff.

This was the nicest dental office i have been to in years. The staff was professional and courteous. Dr Gerhardt was great, as was his assistant, Lisa. At checkout i met, Amber. She was quite knowledgeable and friendly! The wait time was minimal, five minutes, which hardly ever happens in any doctor office. The scheduling was convenient too- had treatment the next day. I am now referring my husband for his dental care and treatment! 5* dental office for sure! Thank you.

I am 69 yrs old and I have had some not so pleasant experiences at the dentist office. But just the few times that the wonderful people at Advanced Family have helped me, has been extraordinary! We have been going here for years. I had adult braces a few years back with Dr Gerhart and he was a great orthodontist. He has great bedside manner and is good at putting me at ease when I am a bit anxious about a procedure. The front desk staff is great as well. They are friendly and organized and it is always quick and painless to schedule an appointment or pay a bill.

I don’t know how far back to go with this review - the first initial call was made mid April... I had an emergency due to an infection found on an MRI by my Neurologist. Since it was an emergency extraction, I called, left a message on the emergency line and during my message included that my 13 year old daughter also needed a molar removed too. I received a call back (vm) on April 20th - I had already made an appointment with another established oral surgeon for myself all the way out in Georgetown, so my issue was taken care of - I just needed an appointment for my daughter. I called them, left another vm and finally after back and forth phone calls, finally spoke to Stacy. This was 2 weeks ago, and the first appointment she said was available was May 28th!! I booked the appointment for the extraction and made 2 appointments for my 2 boys (for cleaning/annual) for the beginning of June. I made sure she had all of our insurance info, especially since my daughter appointment was going to be $$$ and I asked her to discuss it with the Dr. to see if we could come in sooner for her issue was extremely important and painful. I also explained that if I could find another appointment for her sooner, I would call and let her know. To no avail, I was able to find another recommended office, but they only had the beginning of June. I booked it anyway, as a fall back.... I am sure glad I did!!!!!!!!So the day arrives, I get to the appointment early, we are in the main waiting area (with other patients) and the woman checking people at the front door hands me the paperwork and as she is handing me the clipboard, says “we are asking anyone who isn’t the patient to sit out in their cars due to COVID.” I looked at my daughter, and she is wide eyed staring at me uncomfortably, to which I responded “No. She is going to be under anesthesia - there is no way I am going to allow my (minor) to be under anesthesia while I am sitting in my car.” (And, I’ll admit, my tone was not the nicest.... and, yes, I did apologize later in the discussion.) I am then told “Oh! She won’t be under anything like that for a cleaning.” 😳 My response??? Wide eyed, I said “She is not her for a regular cleaning, she is here for an extraction of a molar that we’ve needed done for OVER 2 weeks!” She said that she needed to “check on that, I’ve only been here for 2 weeks, there was a miscommunication.” left the front and went to the back 🤔 I pondered, had to get myself straight and when she returned, I told her that “I apologize if I came off rude, I am just frustrated that we’ve waited for weeks to get this taken care of... she’s been in pain and we’ve been waiting for this appointment” (I got a eye roll 🙄 and a smirk)- I then proceeded to the check in window, handed the other woman our paperwork and told her to cancel the appointment.So, I suggest to elevate your booking process it would be helpful to EXPLAIN the COVID “regulations”, that only patients are allowed of the procedure, especially since this was for A MINOR who would have anesthesia. Become thoroughly educated so when a patient asks a question it can be answered. This way, when someone is told they have to leave a minor in the hands of people we don’t know YET there isn’t a surprise or stunned response. It is obvious this is not being told when you are making the appointment as the woman in the front had to say the same for an elderly woman patient, whose daughter had to explain she was “hard of hearing”.... 🤯🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️. Let me clarify, this is not a review for any of the practicing Doctors, EXCEPT for training the office appropriately/adequately. Train them to have some couth for patients that DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT. As for booking my daughters appointment incorrectly. I hope Stacy realizes that my daughter has to deal with another week of pain because of her error - there was no miscommunication of why we were making this appointment!

I have been a patient with Advanced Family Dentistry since 1998 and wouldnt dream of going anywhere else. My family and I are always very well taken care of from the time we walk in the door until the time we check out with Amber. Nicole is our hygienist and she does an amazing job! Dr.G has done 2 of our childrens braces and mine as well. We all have beautiful smiles because of him! I just had to have a filling done and saw Dr. Ferguson, he did an outstanding job. I guess you could say that my family and I are walking billboards for Advanced Family Dentistry.

10 plus years with Dr. Gerhart and his team and we have always been treated with great professionalism and care. From check ups and same day care for a chipped tooth to kids braces, I’m happy to say this is OUR Family dentist office!

If I could give negative stars I would. This place does not have its act together. Had a broken tooth. Got seen on Tuesday and given meds to get hold over till Friday to get it pulled. Given all the instructions for it to be pulled on Friday. Show up Friday and get told it is a consultation and they never intended to pull the tooth. Then they send me to an oral surgeon saying he can see me and have it pulled the same day. Only to find out they lied and that is not what they were told. Consumer Beware, do not go here.

Thieves !!! This place is a joke. they don’t respect the patience whatsoever. The office manager is a idiot that doesn’t understand what she’s saying. So good luck getting a good explanation from her about why they’re taking so much of your money while you receive no treatment. And those x-rays they take are completely unnecessary and cost $400. The dentist can see what’s going on with your teeth without the need of those x-rays. So that’s just to steal some more of your money. I say again thieves

When I moved here to the area, it was tough to find a new dentist that we felt comfortable with. After going to a few other places and not feeling right, I happened accidentally to come across Advanced Family Dentistry (my wife was being seen at the office next door and I was waiting in the wrong office ;-)) I spoke with my spouse and we decided to give AFD a go…and boy were we glad that we did.Great staff, awesome hygienist team, and some of the best doctors in the area. I cant remember how long my wife and I have been going to Advanced Family Dentistry, Long before they moved to the Salido facility. They have always been extremely professional and helpful. Dr Priour is a great addition! She explains the options for treatment and realistically prioritizes the treatment plan. The entire staff is great.

Dr Gerhardt and his staff are wonderful!! I had a recent experience where decay had formed under an old crown (installed by another dental office) and caused the crown to crack. Dr Gerhardt was able to locate a very small root left of the tooth and managed to replace the crown. Most dentists would have recommended an implant, but Dr Gerhardt was able to save the tooth and thereby save me a lot of money and discomfort. I have used Dr Gerhardt and his staff for five years and I highly recommend them for all your dental services. He also does braces at a discount rate and straightened my husbands teeth at a minimal cost. They are absolutely the best!!!

I always had good experiences with this office and then we have today. I made an appointment because I was having the same pain I was in last week for and I was supposed to schedule to come back in to make a treatment plan. Today the front desk lady called me into a little room and said our oral surgeon is not in but we can refer you out. If your in pain thats all that can be done. I said I was supposed to see a dentist to get a plan to fix some lower teeth. She said well thats your plan and I tried to call you but you have no voice mail. I felt like they overbooked and decided to just run me off. Service and care here is in the tank from how I was treated today.

I have been seeing this Dentist for 15 years and have always had a good experience. Their bedside manner and quality of work is among the best. I have never had any reason to leave and refer people to see them as often as possible.

I’ve been a patient at Advanced Family Dentistry for most of my life, and I have always experienced a kind, attentive and positive environment. I recently had my wisdom teeth removed, and the dental assistant who did the pre-surgery briefing with me and my husband was so sweet, answered all my questions and was just a comforting presence. Once I was in the chair and the anixiety started to come on, the Dental Surgeon Nakashima was another positive presence, as he explained each step to me with a kind smile and put me at ease. They made sure I was mostly coherent before sending me home, to avoid any embarrassing YouTube videos or physical harm. They wheeled me out to my car where my husband was waiting, so that I didn’t have to go through the waiting room. I really love this place and feel that it is a wonderful office where everything from teeth cleaning to surgery is treated with care for the patient as the priority.

This use to be a very good dentists office however things have changed over the years that we have been patients here. When you start charging patients for your clerical errors and you dont stop to see where there may be a problem. They are losing 6 valuable patients. I have referred so many people here that I am going to make sure they all know what this place has become. It is no longer about the patients, its all about what they can charge you for. Sad sad day!

I have been with Advanced Family Dentistry for some time now and they have given me the best possible service that I could expect from a dentist office.My most recent experience at Advanced Family Dentistry (3/24/14) started off a little choppy because we had missed the first appointment for that day. Although their schedule was somewhat crowded, they managed to fit me in 2 hours later.When you first walk in there is a large waiting room with a flat screen TV, coffee table full of all different kinds of interesting books/magazines and even coffee available in the far corner. The accountant working was very friendly and understood the situation I was in. The place is very well taken care of, clean, restrooms available with everything you need while still managing to give you a homey kind of feeling.The Hygienist that worked on my teeth was very friendly and asked about my brushing routine, flossing routine, etc. She paid attention to all the little details and cleaned my teeth very well. The doctor was also very nice and made sure to ask important questions.Overall I give Advanced Family Dentistry a 5 out 5 star rating because of quality of service and friendliness of all of the people working in the office.

I have never felt worse walking away from a dentists office. They told me I had great teeth (and no cavities), but refused to perform a generic cleaning, because they were intent on up-selling me on a deep cleaning. I will never return to this office. Honestly, though, the bad feelings start with the new patient forms which ask you how bad you feel about your smile and to rate how much your smile bothers you. Stay away from this place.

Long time patient (12 years), but things have sadly changed. I think highly of Dr Gerhardt and Dr. Shipp, but Dr. Gerhardt no longer seems to be involved in day to day dental work.Dr. Browner told my daughter she had eight cavities since her previous visit . She said it was best to get them done as quickly as possible before they became any larger. Due to time constraints, as she was home from college, we had three taken care off. No previous history of cavities, but a family friend commented on the same thing (their children suddenly having lots of cavities, when the prior 6 month exam was clear).When my daughter was home for summer break, we went to a different dentist to have the cavities checked. Full examination, with a 3D scanner only showed one issue... a cavity from her previous appointment still had decay under the filling (wasnt cleaned out completely).There are a lot of Dentist moving to Cedar Park, so worth while to find a good dentist!

The complexity of treatment plans, numerous dental insurance companies and the treatment itself make these processes very challenging. Advanced Family Dentistry does a top notch job of grappling with this complexity.

Six months after getting several procedures done with Advanced Family Dentistry I am receiving a bill for over six hundred dollars! They told me my dental insurance would cover my crown which it does not and they used a type of filling which was not approved by my dental insurance. I was relying upon them to clear these items with the insurance company. I agreed to a treatment plan and paid the amount that I was told I was owed at the time of treatment. Now they are telling me that was only an estimate and how sorry they are that they gave me bad information but I still owe all this money which I dont currently have any way to pay.

Very helpful team. Ive got some challenging issues with my personal dentistry but the group at AFD is eager to please. Theyre accomodating in emergencies where you need to see them quickly. Hygenists are gentle. My whole family goes to them and have been for 15 years.

LOVE everyone here! After my old front tooth crown broke I went ahead and got an implant and I am soo happy I went that route! Everyone there has been great and very accomodating when weather messed up schedules and what not. I definitely recommend them. I have been going to AFD for about 7 years. After a very traumatic experience with a dentist as a child I have always been anxious when I go to one. Everyone has always been very kind and gentle with me. I love all of the dental hyginest there. Last time I was in Nancy told me to try out the Gum Care Dental Floss by Reach. Let me tell you I am now a huge fan and almost addicted to flossing. I went from the girl who flossed her teeth about a week before my scheduled cleaning to flossing twice a day, if not more. I have also seen both Dr. Gehart and Dr. Shipp and enjoyed both of them. You cannot go wrong using Advanced Family Dentistry!!

I spent a lot of time researching orthodontist for my younger son. One very popular orthodontist gave me the usual $4700 package and explained to me why my son needed braces as soon as possible so he would only have to wear the braces for two years. If I waited, it would be much longer. My son still had baby teeth that he had not lost. The bed-side manner left much to be desired, so I decided to look elsewhere. Someone passed Dr. Gerharts name on to me. Their three children had used him and she was very pleased. I went to see Dr. Gerhart about a year before my son got braces. He thought we should wait so he could see if my son really needed braces. I met with him three times before we decided to put braces on my son. When we decided that braces would be necessary, he gave me options for how the braces could be placed, how much time, and different cost possibilities. I chose the one Dr. Gerhart thought would be best and my son was in and out of braces in a very short time (less than 6 months). His teeth look incredible. Dr. Gerhart has an outstanding bed-side manner. He makes every patient feel like they are important and that he truly cares about them. The staff is also one of the best I have experienced anywhere. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this practice.
