I had a delightful facial by Cat at Hand and Stone. I left feeling very relaxed, and my face looked and felt amazing. My face was pretty dehydrated, so Cat worked on restoring moisture. My face looked pumped!

I had the most amazing massage with Emily at the Ann Arbor location! She took the time to work on all of my problem areas. She was very professional and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was very relaxing. The front desk staff was wonderful as well. I have already booked my next massage with her and signed up for a membership! I am hooked!

Absolutely recommend going to Hand and Stone in Ann Arbor! They offer great services, and keep the spa very clean (including masks & plastic shields at the front desk). I had a phenomenal massage with Cayla and will certainly be back again to see her. The staff here are incredibly friendly and helpful and they have great products to buy as well.

Experience was great. Minimal contact with anyone other than you Massage Therapist. My Massage Therapist was Maureen Bator and it was awesome. I will go again. I like my massages firm and she was spot on and if it was too much I said too much and it lessened Immediately. She does a great job ! FYI i requested a very firm massage. You can request whatever feels right for you.

This is a professional spa from the moment you walk in the front door and are greeted by the friendly, knowledgeable women at the front desk. Every moment there the staff is working to make it an exceptional experience. Both mass therapists I used were great, with Renee being outstanding. She listens to my needs and provides the best massages I have experienced in my life. I signed up for the membership and now go once a month!

I booked my wife her first massage & facial for her birthday. She was a little nervous about going in for her first massage! But her masseuse Made her feel very very comfortable!!!!! she came out after 2 hours & SAID I FEEL AMAZING!!! SHE CANT WAIT TO GO BACK!I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!

I received a 50 minute deep tissue massage for the first time at Hand & Stone Massage on Jan 5. I was greeted and provided with water as I walked in. Jenny, my massage therapist, was very friendly and professional in walking me through my first massage. She created a very comfortable and therapeutic setting - I appreciated the relaxing music and warm mattress pad. She did a full body massage and addressed all my major muscle groups - it felt amazing!My only complaint is I called ahead to verify that my gift card would cover a deep tissue massage. They took my gift card number, processed it, and said the gift card would cover the massage completely and that I would not owe anything. Once I checked out after the massage, I was charged 20 dollars for an up charge to deep tissue - despite being told on the phone the gift card would cover a deep tissue.

Im new to the Ann Arbor Hand and Stone and must say I had a lovely experience and am looking forward to going again in 3 weeks. The staff is very kind and friendly and my Massage Therapist, Matthew was excellent. He is extremely knowledgeable.

Overall great experience! I needed some last minute self care and they were able to get me in that day for a much needed facial. Allyson did a great job explaining what she was doing and why for my treatment. Although I appreciate advise for my lack of skin care routine, I didnt care for the product push at the end. I ended up getting what was suggested but really only because I had to redeem a certain amount on my gift card. I will definitely be back as the staff and atmosphere are great.

I used to e a member at Hand and Stone and enjoyed the experience but I just didnt have the time to commit to once a month so I cancelled my membership.I then scheduled a facial after and nowhere on the website does it say the price for a non member. Wellllll a facial is 99$ for the basic package. Thats 40% more. I will go to a high end spa and I wont even pay that! I hate being taken advantage of and I wont go back for that price. I hate when consumers have to be a monthly member to enjoy reasonable prices! Nope wont be back.The people were nice and my service was pretty good but not 99$ good

My experience at Hand and Stone was wonderful. Very nice, clean and professional setting. All of the employees that I came in contact with were very knowledgeable.Genie was my massage therapist, and was wonderful. My facial was performed by Kayle, and she was awesome too!I joined their monthly wellness program and will continue to go once a month if not more!I highly recommend Hand and Stone.

The staff are very pleasant, the atmosphere is very nice, the background music is appropriate for the setting. The biggest issue for me was once the meas sue I Had for almost 2 years decided to move on, I had a different person each time I had scheduled a session. Or after I had scheduled a session, with that person. I received a call telling me that that person had moved on. Would I be willing to have someone else. They really dont have consistence with their meas sue. For that reason I decided to close the account.

I love the staff, great facials, awesome massages, top rate relaxing service. I have also purchased several items from here. You can’t go wrong with any of the services here. Money well spent.

Would not recommend if you want a good massage. For the same pricing, you could go to another independently owned place here in Ann Arbor. This is a franchise and its lack of good service certainly shows.

Abdul was fantastic. He was very professional, had a gentle but firm touch, and was complete. He even rubbed my scalp and fingers and toes, which sometimes get skipped. Best of all, he did not chit chat, which allowed me to concentrate on fully relaxing. Also it was my first time trying the hot stone add-on and I loved it! I felt great afterward and highly recommend!

Chill vibe, absolutely amazing massage, but they charged me three times for one massage and only refunded one of the charges. Very confusing situation. When I called they were dismissive and like yeah, yeah, okay, sure let me call you back. and then thats when they refunded me (an amount less than the what I was charged) but then also *charged me again* the same amount as the refund, basically just cancelling each other out.I hate that this is happening because I had such a lovely time there and my first professional massage, I really wanted to come back but this makes me think twice. :(

My husband surprised me with a hot stone massage and facial here. I believe I had Matthew for the massage. He was awesome and very knowledgeable in relieving any aches you may have. My facial was wonderful as well. I cant remember her name (purple hair) but she had my skin feeling so soft and clean. Great job overall. Will definitely come to this location if Im ever back in the area. The only thing I would say would have made it a better experience would have been client robes. I had back to back appointments and I got fully dressed to go across the hall to get undressed again. Other than that.... loved it.

Hand and Stone Massage is a place that you can have a very nice deep tissue massage for your sore muscles. The therapists (such as Shelby) are professional. The rooms are neat and the staffs are kind. Highly recommended!

Warm welcoming environment - first time there - consultation was two way - my needs / requirements were taken fully on-board. Treatment - facial - was really well executed - Treatment room was very clean and comfortable. there was no hard sell - that you sometimes get - thank you.......next time I am in the area I will have no hesitation to return......and have no hesitation I recommending to family and friends who live in the AA area.

PRO: The atmosphere in the spa is extremely calm and relaxing. The massage therapist and receptionist were very friendly. Id give the massage itself a B+.CON: A 60 minute massage is not actually a 60 minute massage; it is a 50 minute massage. I recently got a hot stone massage here. I made my appointment over the phone, and it was not mentioned that when booking appointments, they allocate a whole 10 minutes of your massage towards undressing, dressing, and consultation with the massage therapist. After investigating the website, it says in very tiny print at the bottom: Services include 50 minutes hands-on service and time allotted for dressing and consultation.Call me crazy, but when it comes to a massage, 10 minutes is a lot of time!So, this is a 50 minute massage, and it should be clearly advertised as such so you know what youre getting. Calling it a 60 minute massage is misleading. To me, that means 60 minutes hands-on time. I would consider coming back, except why would I pay for 50 minutes, when I can pay similar prices around town for a full 60 minutes of hands-on time?I called around to other places in the area to make sure I wasnt just crazy. The other spas I talked to sounded surprised I was even asking the question.If you want 60 minutes of hands-on time, here are a couple of places that offer them at similar prices (for a hot stone massage). One place does what seems to me to be the most reasonable and customer-friendly approach, and books 75 minute appointments for a 60 minute hands-on massage, so that the dressing/consultation time is accounted for, while still giving the client a complete experience. Almost every time I’ve gone there it’s a 5 star experience. I love the hot stone massage the most. Ginger is awesome, she is very thorough and pays attention to what you’re looking for and areas that need extra attention. Love this place! Very clean and soothing.

I have been having a monthly massage at Hand & Stone for nearly one year. Ive tried three different therapists in that time frame, and all of them have been good. I was a little concerned that the quality might not be as good given the low price for monthly massages, but Im glad they proved me wrong. The table is warm, the rooms are relaxing, the music is calming, etc. Ive also tried a facial, and my skin felt and looked great after the service! Highly recommend.

I booked a Swedish massage to help with some muscle soreness and as an early birthday present to myself. The lobby and staff in the lobby was fantastic and welcoming. It is a very clean facility! However the massage itself was rather lackluster. When it came to the pressure that was applied it was either painful, or next to no pressure. I ended up feeling more achey than before I started about an hour after I left. I will be looking elsewhere next time I want to treat myself.

I have been getting regular massages here for over two years and every experience has been great. Every therapist I have had has been very knowledgeable and attentive to any issues that needed to be addressed. Very clean and relaxing atmosphere. Only one scheduling snafu (I hadnt checked my text messages so it was my fault) and the owners went above and beyond to accommodate me. When they werent able to get someone in to do the service, they gave me a free massage while I waited, and then accompanied me to and paid for my service at another establishment. Customer service at its best. I highly recommend them and can say for certain that they are reputable and operate with integrity.

The best massage Ive experienced! I was able to make my apt from a gift card that I had misplaced but was on file, so they are very organized! The staff were professional and warm upon arrival as well, even though I had to call in because I was a few minutes behind schedule. They helped me in feeling relaxed and able to enjoy the experience. I was able to leave feeling rejuvenated. They even provided a complementary beverage after to help hydrate, I choose the coconut water! Would totally recommend for anyone who wants a 5 star massage experience!

I see Desi at least once a month. She is awesome! She always remembers what areas are my most painful and troublesome and has a great balance of making sure to manage those spots but also making me feel super relaxed and pampered. The girls at the front desk are wonderful as well because they always have a smile on their face and are super welcoming.

I have had only positive experiences at Hand & Stone and have had both facials and massage several times with a variety of therapists! All of them are very professional and have amazing skills! My most recent massage was given by Diana and I will definitely schedule with her again...she had just the right pressure and technique for a balance between deep tissue massage and relaxation massage.

Amy is a wonderful therapist. She addressed my needs for pain relief, as well as focused on relaxation. She was able to get my whole body, and still spend time on my focus areas.

I received a gift card for a 1-hour massage and since I get them regularly I was excited because it had been awhile. However, my experience was not very good. First, the table was warm but the fan was on high and pointed directly at my feet so my feet were FREEZING. Second, the therapist was a little awkward and it made it hard to relax. She seemed rushed. She started my massage with me lying face up which just felt really odd. The massage felt backwards from then on and I couldnt relax. The worst part about starting face up was the fact that she didnt hardly dim the lights at all. She also didnt seem very systematic in her massage and it kind of felt all over the place and the pressure went from excruciatingly hard to barely any pressure at all. The worst part was at the end, she worked up all of the knots in my back and then, seeing we were out of time, just put the blanket back up and ended. I left with more knots then I started with! I had to go home and apply a heat pack to my back to try to soothe it and had my husband try to get the all of the knots soothed that she had worked up. It just was not a professional, relaxing or good experience. I also didnt feel like leaving her a tip but the front desk pretty much said either leave $15-$20 and we felt very pressured... Wont be going back. My husband had a massage at the same time and he said his experience was average 6/10.

This place and the people who work there are amazing! Ive never had a massage before, and the staff made me feel welcomed and put me at ease. I also had a facial (another first); combined, the massage and facial were the most refreshing and relaxing experiences Ive ever had. Rene and Emmalee are wonderful therapists and the front desk staff could not be more pleasant, friendly and helpful. I bought a membership on the spot and will be back many times in the future.

Desi is my massage therapist and I work with Emmalee for facials. Emmalee is wonderful, an excellent technician and very caring. Its easy to fall fast asleep during my facials; its just that relaxing. And Desi is outstanding in pinpointing my back pain points immediately and working to eliminate the knots. The facility is very nice, as are the staff. I joined as a member, and look forward to many more massages and facials in the future.

Hands down my all time favorite massages. Ive gone to multiple spas both stateside and in Mexico and Hand and Stone blows them out of the water. My go-to masseuse is Matthew, after I went to him once I never went to anyone else. Theyve also been able to fit me in for same day spontaneous appointments or always had a convenient time available. Highly recommended for the Ann Arbor area!

I have had many facials and massages at several different places and will have to say this was my best experience by far. My esthetician Kayla was very knowledgeable and professional to say the least. She was very attentive, answered all my questions, helped with learning about their products and what would work best for my skin. I would highly recommend her and will definitely be going back to see her again. I also had an hour massage with Christine the same day and she rocked! I highly recommend her as well. She was very attentive and listened to what I wanted out of a massage. Over all, I have never felt so relaxed after a day at the spa, keep up the good work ladies! I would give a six star if I could. I get my facials done by Jennifer Henderson and they are wonderful as always. If Jennifer weren’t there I would not go back. I find the spa over priced and the front desk staff are very pushy. The female owner isn’t the nicest. Argued with me about how much my monthly charge was. I had to pull up my bank account on my phone to show her how much is taken out of my account every month. She was wrong and didn’t apologize for that fact. Like I said, Jennifer is amazing and without her I would be gone!

I had I great need for relaxation,but im on blood thinners and did not want to be bruised up. my Doctor gave the ok and Maureen listened to me and my body and gave me Memorable massage. i had never asked for special treatment before, can you use lotion instead of oil. No problem. I was so please that i scheduled another two days later. Loved it!!

The treatment was good and the staff were all very pleasant, but they had lost our reservation and we were delayed by an hour. We had a group of 4 and we had come from all over the state to get together for my moms birthday, so they worked very hard to correct their mistake and were able to accommodate us all in the end. Overall, it was a good experience and we were still able to make it to the rest of the activities we had planned for the day.

I had a very therapeutic massage from Abdul, who listened carefully to my concerns and attended to them. My back was in bad shape after having been on a motorcycle trip for one month and having slept in several beds of variable quality. On his own initiative, and at no extra charge, he included a few minutes of hot stone massage to try to get my back settled down. Top-notch masseur!

It was okay. It wasnt a relaxing atmosphere per se. Lots of loud talk and laughter in the waiting room. Hard to feel calm and relaxed in that kind words f situation. Moes massage therapy venues have signs up to keep your voice is low so you can enjoy the relaxed and calming atmosphere of the treatment youre about to receive. The massages its self was just OK. Sometimes it was too intense and worked on areas I said were sore and kept massaging them when I would have rather choose stopped which I did say. And other parts were so light and overlooked that it didnt really feel like a complete massage. She also asked if my medical condition affected my hearing!! She was doing things in the room turning water on heating up towels in moving around it was difficult to hear her with my head buried in the table. I wasnt insulted but still. I probably will not go back. When they told me that the regular rate was $90 I was flabbergasted. I thought it was barely worth the $50

You will not be told about addon costs.A deep tissue massage is an addon. A different type of oil is an addon. You will be shocked when you come out of the massage.That they break out every little service as an add-on would be fine if it was clearly stated when you discussed your massage pre-session. If you ask for a 90min massage vs a 60min massage, theyll very clearly tell you that itll cost $30 extra. So they aboviously know how to communicate when they want to. However, for all these other add-ons theyll suggest them, but never mention that they cost extra money. Its presented to you as if theyre asking about allergies. Which oil would you prefer. Youre not told that oil A costs more than oil B. Youre not told that firmer pressure costs $20 more.I find this to be really sleazy as a business practice. Upselling is already annoying from a customer perspective, but this I consider intentionally deceptive.The 2 stars is because the the therapists are very nice and knowledgeable. I just cannot abide by how this business chooses to conduct themselves.PS: Its the same for the Northville location. Its a franchise issue.

Was very disappointed with the massage. I told the massage therapist that I have medical issues with my back. She just giggled about it. I said very light on my lower back. I think her second job is needing dough at a pizza place. I said several times please stop she didnt listen. I showed her where the sore spots were and she just kept pushing down it was a very painful massage and couldnt wait until it was over. I am still hurting today the funny thing is she gave me her card and I dropped it in the trash. I made the mistake of getting a facial the next day. Youd think I would have learned my lesson but I didnt. No hand massage scalp nor neck massage. I will not return. Owner please dont respond with please contact us with this issue because I wont reply back.
