None of the workers were masked which should have been the first indication of a bad experience. I am 22 years old on a new insurance plan and I feel completely taken advantage of. They performed a $40 exam without first telling me it would be an extra charge. This felt extremely predatory. They also didn’t outline the options for contacts and glasses well enough for me to understand. The doctor is kind and good but the rest of the experience was awful.

First time visit to Pearl Vision and was really impressed. Very friendly. Greeted once we walked in by reception. Short wait to see the doctor unlike other places I’ve been to. Doctor was awesome and very informative. Amy was awesome and very helpful while picking out the right glasses. Wasn’t pushy and and helped me to pick the ones I liked. While we’re were working on the paperwork Denise the manager made it a point to stop over and say hi and ask how things were going? Will definitely be back.

Please update your hours showing online. I called this morning and left a VM. When I didnt recieve a call back I checked your hours online. It showed you were open from 1000-1800. So I drove to mall to find a sign on your window saying you were closed on Thursdays. Updating your info would be helpful. Thank you.

UPDATE: I am still trying to get my prescription and contacts ordered. I got a phone 3 days ago from Pearle Vision. It turns out the new contacts I was going to try are made to order and its difficult to get trials of. I wish I didnt have to wait a month to find that out. They said they would call me back the next day with my finalized prescription so I could order my contacts. Unfortunately they did not call me back as promised. Looks like I will have to call again.Although Ive been coming here for years, I will not be coming back here again. I had an appointment a month ago. It cost $200 just for the exam and fitting. They said they would order me sample contacts to try and it would be 1-2 weeks before they were in. It has now been a month and I have not received any phone calls. I have called multiple times and left a message with no response. They didnt email my receipts or my prescription like they usually do. Thankfully Dr. Juang printed out the report and took pictures with her phone and sent it to me because I needed to see an opthamologist who diagnosed me with an operculated retinal hole that was there 2 years ago but Dr. Juang is the first optometrist to alert me of a possible ptoblem. The last time I was there they also screwed up and didnt order my contacts but since I had been going there for so long I thought Id give them another try but this is the last straw.

Are they not opened or are they limiting the amount of people per day. Maybe under staffed. I don’t know what’s going on but I call and call no one picks up after waiting a long while and no one gets back to me after I leave voicemail. It’s been 3 days trying. Had no issue before.

I had a scheduled appointment in the morning for 11 am. When I arrived, the store was not open and no one ever came. I checked the store hours posted on the door and there was no notification that the store’s hours had changed. I called and left a message and no one returned my phone call to apologize or reschedule.

I highly recommend the Pearle Vision in the Briarwood Mall!!!! To start the young gentleman who did my initial testing was super nice and friendly! Then the Dr. (Lisa I think her name was— don’t remember her last name) was excellent! The exam she did was the most thorough eye exam I have had. She answered all questions I had and was super friendly as well!! Then Melanie was the best of all!! She was super friendly and extremely patient with me while I went back and forth trying to pick out frames (it took me almost a whole hour just to pick frames) she checked prices of frames with my insurance multiple times with multiple frames and not once made me feel rushed or pressured to choose and let me take my time and decide. Overall awesome experience and I hope to keep coming back to Pearle Vision in the Briarwood mall with the same staff and Dr!!

I couldnt have asked for better service after my recent visit. The services and assistance provided by the staff was top tier. They needed me to call and verify insurance info before my appointment and the tech. (Mandy I believe was her name) was a great helping me chase down the info needed. Her patience and courtesy while dealing with my ineptitude was much appreciated. Dr. Li was exceptional! Her kindness toward her patients seems only out done by her enthusiasm to make sure they are taken care of to the best of her ability. Her knowledge base and openness to questions make her feel reliable and welcoming, two things you always want to feel when going in to see anyone with Dr. before their name. Bleu took over from there and was a pleasure to deal with. He did not force anything sales like upon me at the time but rather made me feel like an old friend while we chatted away waiting on my eyes to dilate for the Dr. Without a doubt, Ill be back to this location for future exams as long as I remain in the area. And hopefully to the same friendly staff that took such great care of me this time! Thanks again Pearle Vision crew!

This place is wonderful! I have never met a staff so caring and considerate. The new OD, Dr. Li, is very personable and does great, efficient work! This place has all new faces, but they are doing their best to turn this store around. Previous reviews do not do the new staff justice. Definitely give them 5 stars and will be returning!

The staff have no idea what is going on and pass you around or do not return calls if you have questions. It has been several weeks since my appointment and I do not have my contacts. Ive gotten 4 or 5 completely different stories about why that is. In fact, at one point, an employee called to tell me that my year supply of contacts were in, only to be told later that it was a mistake. After neglecting to return my call yesterday, as I was promised, I called twice today and finally was able to speak to the manager. Well see if he is able to sort things out or not.Update: They were not able to sort things out to my satisfaction and then they were unable to re-fill my prescription because they let the wrong prescription expire (so, I would have had to bear the brunt of their mistake and come in for another eye exam - NO, THANK YOU). Dont let their response below fool you. They were incredibly difficult to work with and their mistakes became an incredible inconvenience. I would rather use my face to put out a campfire than be their client again. So, no, in response to the comment - I will not be returning. You all had plenty of chances. You got worse with EVERY. SINGLE. VISIT.By the way, without a DOUBT, the worst experience was when the eye doctor dilated my pupils and told me Id be fine to drive home. They did not give me any protective glasses and they were aware that I did not have sunglasses. As soon as I walked outside, it felt as though I got punched in the face. The light gave me an EXCRUCIATING headache and I almost couldnt see my way home. DO NOT COME HERE. They are NOT worth the trouble. I am at a different eye care provider now ... And, much happier!

It started out fine. I was upfront and let them know I only wanted an eye exam, so that I could order frames/lenses from online. The doctor saw me almost immediately after I had finished paperwork. He was not very communicative, but was overall a good doctor and got the job done. He enthusiastically finished the exam, then handed me over to the sales team. The sales representative seemed flustered, but I quickly explained I had just came for the exam, and would order glasses online. Then, I asked if she could measure the distance between my pupils, and mentioned the tool that they use for that exact purpose. She immediately shut me down, saying thats bad for the store, since I would be using their services ((that I PAID for)) but not buying frames/lenses from them. I did not want to start a scene, and there are other ways to measure PD, but honestly, she was just mean and unhelpful. It would have taken a minute, tops. I paid $70 for a few numbers (lens prescription), and she could not be bothered to give me one more. Terrible sales team that is lacking customer service, and will not be getting a repeat visit. Do not recommend, at least not for this purpose.

This is honestly my favorite Pearle Vision store in all of Michigan; Ive been going to this Pearle Vision for over a decade. The staff are always knowledgeable and courteous and are great for helping with any of my eye-glass needs.Todays trip involved getting my eyeglasses adjusted, which Sarah did wonderfully.

I stopped in at Pearl Vision to do some price comparisons, as well as check out some various products offered. Sarah Pollock immediately greeted me with a warming smile and ensured an incredible, and comfortable shopping environment. As I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to glasses and my vision, Sarah remained very patient willing to answer any questions or concerns I brought forward. I didnt feel any pressure in the shopping/buying process, and if I had a question she didnt know the answer to she took a brief moment only to return with the answer. I can say enough good things about the customer service and professionalism here, this is my new one stop shop! Thank you Sarah Pollock for being so patient with me! :-)

Already had my prescription, so I cant rate the doctors, but the store had a wide variety of frames & a helpful staff. In particular, Olivia suggested options I hadnt considered, & once I had a general idea of what I wanted, even went hunting in the frames not currently displayed to help me find the perfect pair. She was extremely helpful, & the process was faster & easier than I expected. My only criticism is that the store stocked mostly designer frames; there was less of price range than I expected.

I had a good experience here. I found frames that look good, the sales people were not pushy and, in my case, they were able to give me the completed glasses in only an hour from when I ordered (the frames were in stock, and I had brought in a prescription from another eye doctor). Only issue was that my glasses were more expensive than I wouldve liked.

Everyone I worked with was very courteous, knowledgeable, and the glasses are great. Why the low rating then?1) No pricing transparency. There is no reason why, with insurance, the lenses alone for my glasses and my wifes were over a thousand dollars. Many of the charges were added on without being discussed. I didnt even get an itemized receipt until I called the store back to ask for one. I agreed to the figure while I was still in sticker shock and, after sleeping on it, called the back the next day to cancel the order. Which leads to--2) There is a no refund policy that is not posted anywhere in plain view nor discussed at the time of sale. The manager was very sympathetic but said that was the policy and there was nothing he could do to cancel the order at that point. But he assured me that they would be the best glasses Id ever wear. And at that point, I was mollified if not satisfied.I still probably wouldnt have shopped there again simply because it was beyond my modest budget, but I would have left a neutral review and been content. Then I went to pick up my new glasses. The manager greeted me personally, checked to make sure I was happy with my frames and that the lenses were the right prescription. I was at this point leaning toward a positive review. Then we stood up to leave. The manager noticed my wifes political pin and--3) He felt the need to correct my wife and I on the sentiment expressed. Unprompted, he went off on a peal (with anecdote) about why we were misguided, despite my attempts to disengage. This, unfortunately, cast a pall over my whole experience. I can forgive many things in customer service. This isnt one of them.

Never coming here again. First, I walked in looking for Gucci glasses and one man said that they dont sell Gucci when they did. Second, the old Caucasian man was very rude he had a sarcastic attitude toward me the entier time. I did not feel comfortable or satisfied when I left. Then, the Asian technician was rude as well. All I wanted was an exam for glasses not contacts and at the end I had to pay for both. She should of took a little more time to listen why I was there instead of assuming that I wanted both. They lost a good customer because I will never come here again!

My parents went to Pearle Vision, received an eye exam and were quoted a price of $1000 - just for a lens. When my father showed surprise and rejected the price, they immediately bargained the price down to $700. I find this type of bargaining to be highly unusual and inappropriate - especially with vulnerable senior citizens. Luckily, my father took the prescription to Costco and received the same lens and a frame for $260. Pearle Vision needs more transparency with regards to pricing.

The doctor is very nice and professional. But they canceled my first appointment. They said the called me to let me know, but they didnt leave a message! So I came all the way down just for the appointment to be turned away. Then they made me wait over 20 minutes for my next 2 appointments! Whats the point of having an appointment?

Dr. Li is the saving grace of this location (and the only reason for my extra star). She is competent, kind and thorough. However, I will not return to this location (after two years of doing business here) because I simply cannot handle dealing with the sales staff any longer. I first got a bad taste in my mouth after my most recent exam when the sales people spoke to me very condescendingly and rushed me through the process without completely answering my questions or waiting for me to get my second insurance information, and didnt look at my prescription when I asked for contact rebate information (what they ultimately gave me was expired). My subsequent phone calls have been similar: being rushed through the call and given/sent the wrong information, spoken to patronizingly, bounced around to several people. In the end I have decided to take my prescription and order elsewhere. I will not give my business to a store where I cannot stomach interacting with the sales staff.

Ive been here once a year for the last four years to have my eyes checked. The optometrist, Vivien Li, is great! Shes kind, good at what she does, and has always been open to answering my questions.However, this was the first year that Ive ordered glasses through them, and Ive had an awful experience. After five minutes, youll probably start to feel swindled. Or, if you happen to be like me, youll just be surprised when you receive your invoice and it includes a number of items you never agreed to purchase.One star for dishonest business practices, poor customer service, and an our-customers-are-just-sacks-of-money attitude. Run, Vivien! Youre great, but youre being dragged down by your shoddy crew.

Worst customer service ever from the owner !Went there for an exam the actual eye exam was great Had a follow up she adjusted the prescription which in itself took two weeks to get back in there was told it was a scheduling error.Spend three weeks calling trying to get a price so I could order contacts.The person who answered the phone several times screamed at me and said she was busy with customer in front of her she didnt have time to let me know how much they cost she just wanted my HSA savings account numbers so she could ring them up !I told her I wasnt giving it to her without a price first !I told her to send me a written price, she sent me a prescription I figured they didnt want or need my business.It was wrong I went and got it filled at Costco for half the price she stated, by the way not the price I was quoted verbally from the eye dr.Now I have the wrong contacts and pearl vision want to retest my eyes! Dont waste your time or your hard earned money with the clowns at that circus!!

The staff members at this store were very unpleasant and unprofessional. The Manager (guess his name is Bleu Johnson) shouted on / scolded my parents when they requested him to check for an early delivery of the frames that they had liked - He shouted on my parents and said, you should have come few days earlier if you wanted it so badly. And rest of the staff members had a strict and angry tone with us as well as other customers. Not sure what could be the reason. Also, even when Pearle Vision has the policy of 30 days exchange period if the customer is dissatisfied, the staff lied to us saying that they dont do any exchange - once sold they cannot exchange with any other spectacles. We are really disappointed with our visit at this store at Briarwood mall.

Dr. Li cares about her patients and is always diligent during the check up. She also goes beyond just checking the patients eyes health; she cares about the patients overall health and uses her knowledge to help her patient to improve their overall health. Dr. Li loves to interact with her patients and she is very easy to approach.

What a cluster F! Their system autoschedules your next appointment for 366 days after your previous visit. You get emails asking to confirm. So I confirm for Sunday 7/30. I go there and there are no doctors on Sundays. But I am in thier system for an appointment. I needed contacts so they ordered some and promised to call when they are in. Nothing. Two weeks of waiting, I walk in. They forgot to order them. Been a customer for 15 years. I drive 35 miles to use the same business. Not any more.

Had a great experience they wrre short handed but toik there time to answere every questuin i had and explained my purchases, the most interesting question i was asked is how do i wear my glasses? In my face was the answere, the associate laughed and explained we have different glasses for differsnt jobs and and activities and showed me the differences;.My glasses wrrr a bit more expsnsivr than i thought but sitting a my sons baseball game i live in my sunglasses and am thankful i spent the exrra money

Had an appointment to update my prescription for contacts. I was told my eyes were the same as last time, and that I could order new contacts. I was told that I would be given a trial of these lenses. This did not happen. Instead the new contacts were shipped to my home. Upon trying them, they do not work. I cannot see. When I called the office for assistance, I was told I could have another exam, but I am stuck paying for the open boxes of contacts that were wrong. RIP OFF!!! Why wasnt I provided the trial pair? No one can answer that.

Dont spend almost $1000 or more here on glasses, go to Americans Best or Visionworks!!!The manager I was dealing with (Bleu Johnson) made my experience 1000 times worse. He was very condescending, asking why I would even pick out the sunglasses I did because the lenses are clearly too wide for my face.. Instead of trying to nicely say those dont fit let me help find a pair that does. I ended up returning my sunglasses and getting another pair that fit fine in the store before I got my prescription in them. When I picked up my new sunglasses with the prescription the arms on the glasses were both bowed out and didnt sit behind my ears. They wouldnt pop one of the lenses out and bend them because they said I wouldnt see clear out of them.. Well... Id take that over them not staying on AT ALL.Second issue was with my regular everyday glasses.. They talked me into getting the transition lenses for a better deal than just the normal lens. The transition wasnt suppose to work in the car and it was happening when I would stare out of house windows so it was very annoying. I exchanged those for the same glasses frame with normal lenses. I get outside and notice everything seems to have a yellowish brown tint to it. I bring them back to see whats wrong and Mr. Bleu with his amazing customer service tried them on and said he saw nothing wrong. He even took me outside because thats when you could notice it the easiest and still claimed there must be something wrong with my eyes because he doesnt see what Im talking about, ha! I held up my old glasses Ive had for years and the new ones to a white piece of paper where you can clearly see a noticeable difference and he finally believes me. He talks to the Dr and says oh I must be a student and I got the blue light blocker on my glasses.. I am not a student nor did I ask for this special blocker to be added. I work outside so I would like to enjoy the real colors of nature. He reluctantly said he would exchange them one last time and take the blue light blocker out.. They only made them slightly better. There is still a slight brown tint that everyone can notice when they look at me.

Worst experience ever.New Doctors and staff in the last year. Service has gone down dramatically. I have been a customer over 5 years.Beware of non standard exchange policy on contacts. One would think they exchange dollar for dollar but they dont. If you buy a years supply they only exchange for a years supply.If you go here for daily contacts only buy a 30 day supply and get a copy of your contact Rx and go buy them online.Look at more reviews online-not a good place.

I have nothing but great things to say about my entire experience with Pearle Vision Ann Arbor today! From top to bottom my expectations were exceeded and I just felt the need to share. First of all, I called for pricing information for an exam and contact fitting fee, (since I was paying completely out of pocket cost was an important factor to me). I spoke with a Blue, (sp?) who was friendly and courteous, and a great representation of customer service. After letting me know exactly what I would be expected to pay I told him I needed to research a few other offices before I could schedule. In doing so I found that Pearle Ann Arbor was the most affordable of the four that I called. I then scheduled my appointment online with ease, complete with a text confirmation which I thought was a nice service. When I arrived for my appointment I found all of the customer service associates to be friendly and welcoming. I got right in to see Dr. Vivian Li who was just fantastic. She has a great personality! She was so approachable and easy to talk to, and it felt like we were old friends. I also found her to be very professional and knowledgeable. The exam was quick and painless, she was understanding and listened to me when I spoke of products Id used in the past and how I prefer to order my glasses online. The trial pair of contact lenses she recommended for me are literally the most comfortable lenses Ive ever worn and Ive worn contacts for 27 years! There was no pressure by Dr. Li or other employees to buy any extra products or services, which is such a relief when you are paying out of pocket. Sharise (sp?), who took care of completing my appointment, was incredibly friendly and sweet! She complimented my eyes (which is one of my favorites to get) and shes a master multi-tasker because I was talking her ear off as she was processing my file. Surprising right? Haha! So yeah, just nothing but raves from my end! I would and will highly recommend Pearle Vision Ann Arbor to anyone. Thank you all so much for such a successful eye exam visit and I apologize if I misspelled any of your names. :) Im looking forward to seeing you all again at my next appointment.

Not a great selection of glasses, expensive even with insurance and taking forever to receive my glasses. Its been 2 weeks since I ordered them and I just called and they say my glasses are still in process whatever that means. Never should you have to wait 3 weeks to receive glasses. Save yourself time and money and go anywhere but here

The manager is absolutely terrible, rude, and aggressive. If 0 stars were an option I would give that rating. Blue was incredibly rude to my wife.

I wish I could give an even lower rating. The staff is rude. Dont bother to ask for a Manager - she is worse. I dont mind paying more for exceptional customer service. But when you pay more to be abused, something is just wrong.

I had to wait FOREVER to finally got to see the doctor, who was very snooty. Then the people at the desk kept messing up my insurance information. And their selection of glasses are both ugly and expensive even with insurance
