Getting a prescription refill is so hard. I’ve contacted them 4 times starting on May 21st and still have not gotten the refills needed. So good luck if you need a refill. Because as of May 28th I still haven’t gotten the refill request. I’ve been out of medication for a week now. This is not the first time this has happened, it’s like this every single time. But, the nurse practitioner I see is hands down, the best! She is very knowledgeable and willing to help you with anything. (Kimberly Hanna). It is not her fault in what is happening. It’s just communication, I would assume.

Would be nice if their hours were easily accessible on the website.

Let me start off by saying that Dr. Gulley is really amazing! He is very smart and listens to concerns seriously. My lower rating is for the communication within his department. A couple years ago I was scheduled to have a lab test drawn that required getting medication from the pharmacy downstairs. They scheduled my appointment prior to when the pharmacy opened so I was unable to get the rx and the test was cancelled. Fast forward to present; I was given the option to schedule for the same test anytime on any day by the front desk. I work as a MLS so I knew it had to be drawn in the am so I scheduled it for 830. No one called me about getting the rx. So I called myself 2 days prior and they said they would have it filled for me. When I went to go get the rx no one had finished the prior authorization so I could not get it with my insurance. I decided to have the lab drawn at another facility and cleared it with his front desk and RN the day prior. I was told there were no issues. When I showed up the other facility had no orders and could not order the test. Due to facility requirements there must be a dosage listed for any medication given by an RN. So we had to wait few minutes to get the order. There was no dosage listed and even though it’s a standard dosage, The other facility legally cannot give medication without the dosage. So the out patient lab called them immediately to get it and the RN agreed to give the dosage while we waited for the written order. By this time it was about 25 minutes after I was supposed to be drawn for a baseline. It wouldn’t have been a huge issue but Dr. Gulley was very upset with the facility I used, when it was in fact his staffs lack of communication with me that caused the delay. He even accused the facility of lying about getting a verbal order when I was standing there listening to out patient talk with them the whole time. We also already had a doctor signed order with no dose.Another issue with communication is I have been told on several occasions by his RN that I can stop taking iron bc my serum level is normal, when my storage level is so low. I have even requested to leave Dr. gulley a message bc I didn’t agree with discontinuing my iron and that is not what Dr. Gulley spoke with me about. I was DENIED leaving him message and told “ it’s fine your level is normal.” I have iron deficiency anemia and it got worse bc I quit taking iron as told. The lack of communication between his RN, front desk, and himself is extremely frustrating and I hope that it is fixed in the future bc I do really think he is a great doctor.

Dr. Keister is my doctor and he is, hands down, the finest doctor in town. His caring and kindness is only exceeded by his intelligence, willingness to listen to and help you with problems. I feel so blessed to call him my doctor. I also love Albert (his PA) who is fabulous! He also listens, takes all the time you want him to take, and is, like Dr. Keister, one of the few noble healers. All of the staff there are warm, friendly, and make me glad I came every time I walk through the doors! Amarillo Medical Specialists is FANTASTIC!

Dr Christopher Gulley is the best Doctor I have been to in many years! He knows things that others dont know about rare conditions and is very knowledgeable! I am very thankful I have him looking out for me!!

I see Dr Carlos Plata, rheumatologist. Great doctor but be prepared to be treated roughly by his nurses. The staff makes a name for the office. Its not worth it if youre looking for long term care.

Parking lot sucks, elevators are slowest in town, has good doctors, but if ur thinking of working here Id reconsider. This star rating is strictly as a former employee

Dr. Gulley is the best! I was having serious health issues my former doctor was ignoring and he took charge. I just wish I could have taken him with us when we moved :)

Im a travel RN and needed to have a couple prescriptions refilled. Unfortunately my doctor back home transferred so I had to find a doctor while here in town. I called yesterday afternoon to see when they could possibly get me in and luckily they got me in this morning for 0815. As a new patient that is rare where I come from. Usually takes a couple weeks. I arrived at 0745, filled out all the paperwork and was in an exam room by 0830. I saw Dr Salcido, who I was told was new to this office. The sign in the main lobby showed at least 12 physicians in this group, some having been there for well over 30 years. Dr Salcido was very thorough, even though I am a nurse and am well versed in my medications, he took the time to make sure they are actually working the way they should. He was very personal and extremely helpful and understanding. If I was going to stay in this area I would definitely pick him as my doctor. If you are looking for a new physician or just moved to the area, give this office a call and ask to see Dr Salcido. You will not be disappointed.

Terrible Doctors! They are all about billing your insurance and not your health!
