Unfortunately Reed wasted my time for almost a year. Put simply, he just could not figure out what was wrong. I got a second opinion from a diff ortho who diagnosed me in the first visit. You win some, you lose some.

Scot from P.T. is wonderful. Few people know what it is to “hold space” for someone; to let them feel what they feel, and express it, without doing anything but allowing it...letting their presence, their witnessing, be support enough. Scot does. My shockwave therapy on both feet, to treat 10+ years of pain, adhesions, and plantar fasciitis, was quite painful. He was patient, allowing, informative, calm, and friendly. This meant I could cry or wince and not feel like I should be stifling it, lest someone be flitting about cooing and cajoling. I for one deeply appreciate that demeanor. The ladies at the reception desk were also lovely; efficient and helpful. I was also assisted by someone from ‘billing’ who made the conversation pleasant and reassuring - a feat for sure when it comes to insurance and out-of-pocket costs! I had similarly comforting experiences at the Ballard location when seeing Dr. Reed and getting a set of X-rays. My thanks to everyone at OSS!

I had been having problems with my foot and my PCP had me in a boot for 18 months. I went to Dr Reed and he was shocked and when he x-rayed it, I had a non-union FX. He did surgery on it and to this day....Its the BEST...HE, IS THE BEST. Who knew how long I would have been in that boot if I hadnt gone to Dr Mark Reed. I highly recommend him...Thanks a bunch Dr Reed....Life is Good, Susie

Having never broken a bone, this was a new experience...and it hurts! Dr. Reed was kind, gentle, and understanding through every part of my experience. The plate and screws are so perfectly aligned that I could tell he was not only an artist, but a perfectionist. My surgery was on June 4th, and I healed pretty quickly considering it was, as they say, the trifecta of broken ankles! I dont think I could more strongly recommend a Dr! If there were more stars, he would have them...

Life changing foot surgery. My foot/ankle was a mess from a very old injury that healed wrong. He fixed it. Brilliantly.

I dont usually write reviews or endorse others easily. However, Dr. Mark Reed has earned my endorsement. As a doctor, when I refer to another physician, I see that person as an extension of myself and my care. Over the past three years, Dr. Reed has shouldered this responsibility with consistent poise and produced excellent patient outcomes. He has also won awards for patient satisfaction and it shows. My patients come back to my clinic having had an excellent care experience, which keeps me referring new patients. Keep up the good work Dr. Reed! And thank you for caring for the foot-and-ankle surgical needs of my patients in such a trustworthy manner.

I have trust issue with Dr Reed for 2 reasons.1. I have visited Dr Reed 4 times now , and there are few things that could have been told in first 2 visits but doctor waited till 4th visit (3-4 months) to inform me about my situation. Sometimes there was confusion while telling the next course of actions and the discussion was all over the place. And I had to work hard from my side to get the right set of actions which doctor agreed himself. Ideally these things should come from doctor itself.2. In my 4 visits Dr Reed was on time only once , for other 3 visits the wait time was 10 mins to 20 mins even in the early morning visits.Doctor should respect the time of their patients and in case there is delay , it should be conveyed to patients in advance. My interaction can be a outlier but based on my interaction , I do not have good feeling about my visits and would advice everyone to look for alternative providers.

Very disappointed with Dr. Downer who put the wrong size hip replacement in, despite notes in my chart noting I needed a larger size hip head because of overly long loose tendons and ligaments. Now I have a traumatically severed tendon to my second toe. Needing a repair or pin. Does anyone have experience with Dr. Reed? Needless to say, shy of orthopedic surgeries. Please advise. Thank you.

Dr. Reed is professional, competent and willing to spend time and answer questions. 13 weeks out of bilateral Cartiva implant surgery, I do not believe I could have had a better outcome or experience with any other doc.

This review is long overdue.I had fallen from a later 14 feet in the air onto a soiled cement floor. I had crushing both of my ankles from that fall in 2009. My injury was first treated at Harbor View through the Foot and Ankle clinic which had been so severe that I had two surgeries. One on my left leg that ended up with 17 pins, a footplate, and other hardware. The surgery lasted 10 hours for that leg. The right leg only had 10 pins with a 7 hour surgery. Knowing that after I had being released from Harbor View, it was going to be a long road to recovery. In 2014 after much physical therapy from the wonderful team at Salmon Bay PT in Ballard that thing had changed for me, but I was walking again. Then I was on my way to spend time with friends of mine in France, I was running late to catch my flight out of SeaTac, I felt something had happened. I later learned that I had broke one of the screws in the left leg. I went on the trip , but was in misery. So when getting home, I setup an appointment with Dr Reed who was so informative about my options & taken in consideration what the x-rays were showing and still in pain, Dr Reed recommended for me to go back into the left leg and fuse the ankle and leg bone and take out much of the hardware, would be the best way to go. Well he was right! I still have challenges, but without the care that I received from Dr Reed, I know that I wouldnt be in the place that I am today. I still haft to have my right leg go through a second surgery, but one thing I dont have to worry about is that Im in good care with Dr Mark Reed. He is truly a miracle worker.Sincerely,David Anderson

After unsuccessfully working with two different Seattle area orthopedic surgeons in an attempt to repair my right foot (multiple tendon & foot structure problems), I found Dr. Reed. He was amazing. He immediately diagnosed my issues and scheduled surgery. Ive been out of surgery about 2 weeks now, and I cant say enough good things about Dr. Reed and his medical team. Very professional, patient, and caring. He has my highest rating. Betty Michaelsen
