Probably the best orthopedist I’ve received care from (& I’ve unfortunately met with several). Dr. K provided thorough explanations of questions I had, treatment options, short term and long term considerations, why recommendations from other care providers were/weren’t appropriate given my specific situation, etc.

I was dealing with an elbow injury (dislocation). UW medicine specialist could not even figure out if bones are broken or not.One visit with Dr. Khalfayan was enough to get the right diagnostics and his procedure to fix it.Now 3 years later if I follow his instructions my elbow feels great. If I get lazy it starts bothering me a little.Billing department of opa is horrible and they let you wait a lot. But that has nothing to do with his abilities as an MD.

I began to experience shoulder pain several years ago and attributed this to age and years of use (baseball, golf etc). When the pain became worse I visited a couple of doctors, becoming worried there was more to the pain than I thought. Two Doctor visits resulting in different opinions and no definitive answer led me to Dr. Khalfayan. He was able to clearly identify the problem which included labrum, rotator cuff and bicep tendon issues. Dr Khalfayan was very upfront and transparent on options to remedy my shoulder, advising a clear plan and steps to take on reducing the pain. Ultimately I decided upon surgery and now able to enjoy activities previously unable to do. I highly recommend Dr Khalfayan

Fast recovery and my PT told me every patient he has from Dr. Khalfayan recovers very fast. The staff very professional, polite. Waiting time was average than any other doctors.I travel from Olympia all the way up to Seattle and it was worthy! Im very happy with the service.

Made an app-t with Dr. Edward Khalfaya. 50 min driving, payed $7 for parking. I was 5 min late(called and let them know) and when I arrived, Dr. Edward Khalfaya refused to accept me, justifying the fact that he has to leave 3 hours later after the appointment... So, 5 min will affect 3 hours period critically?I found this behavior very inadequate toward patients.Dr. Edward Khalfaya dont care about people. Not recommending Dr. Edward Khalfaya to friends and family members.

4.5cm rotator cuff tear in right shoulder. Not into football or baseball but I do some ranch roping and branding of cattle and even compete some. It seemed a long shot to 100% recovery. He did the work and I did the PT follow-up with good help. I am at least 100%. I havent run into anyone else that says that. If you are serious about getting the job done correctly this guy is your surgeon. Thanks again Doc.👍

Dr. Khalfayan did my Maci surgery in 2018. Surgery was supposedly a success, however a year later and I’m still in pain. Dr. Khalfayan made me wait every appointment for at least 60-90 minutes. At this point I think he is frustrated with me still being in pain and wants me to go away. His bedside manner is absolutely horrible. I would highly recommend not going to this doctor because if your surgery is not 100% successful he gets too frustrated and will take it out on you. Maybe he needs to retire? A vacation? Maybe a comedy club? But he seems insanely unhappy and should reevaluate why he became a doctor in the first place. Go check out Dr. Nathe in Bellevue. He has a heartbeat and is a very kind doctor.

Dr Khalfayan is the man. I started throwing my shoulder out a couple decades ago. Last 4th of July I messed it up and still in pain a month later. Went to another surgeon who recommended surgery immediately. Dr Khalfayan and his staff did multiple stress tests on my shoulder and he said he could not recommend surgery. He suggested physical therapy and now my arm is feeling great.

No apology after I waited for over an hour in his office at my year follow up appt for ACL reconstruct. My hamstring looks like a wrinkled old man, and my shin/ankle are numb. He told me that he must have cut a nerve when harvesting the hammy, and my leg would never go back to normal. Im bummed about my leg, but people make mistakes. What bothers me, is that he never told me about the possible risks involved in hamstring graph, and wasnt humble enough to apologize about my leg or being late. Update: I had another MRI, and found out that this guy took a dime sized chunk of cartilage out of my trochlear groove during the surgery. Well, that made it so my knee cap got stuck every time I moved it, also the constant inflammation created a cyst on the back side. All good, though, Ive got friends elsewhere, real doctors that actually care about their patients. Did PRP, and its starting to get better.

After 20 years of athletic pursuits, I tore my ACL during a soccer game and was devastated. My degree and career were in ballet and contemporary dance and in one moment, I felt I had lost it.I went in for consultations with other orthopedists and left feeling angry, confused and -worst of all- left out of the conversation about what was happening with my own body.Following these experiences and a lot of research, I found Dr. Khalfayan. He had the most extensive and specialized experience and knew how to work with athletes. I felt going in that I could finally trust someones conclusion. Moreover, he was direct and to the point but explained exactly what had happened, what the current state of my knee was, what options I had and what the long term results of each choice would be.The following week, he reconstructed my ACL using a graft from my hamstring tendons. I chose to be kept awake for the surgery and he explained what he was doing throughout. It was the easiest day of my injury. With his guidance and a great team at Greenlake Sports PT, within three weeks I was back to full range of motion and using the stationary bike, within seven months I felt my balance and strength were better than before, within 10 months you could hardly see the small scars and at a year, I was accepted and moved to Sinaloa, Mexico to dance with Delfos Contemporánea and the National Ballet de Cuba in residency. There are no words to articulately explain my gratitude for Dr. Khalfayans work and the resilience of the human body.
