Dr. Fernando took care of my mothers hip replacement, which had worn out after 30 years. We had to see 4 other surgeons in Washington who said it wasnt possible and she would have to live in a wheelchair. Given her age he knew it would be high risk, but he was willing to take a chance on her. The operation took 5 hours, but we know Dr. Fernando cares enough to take as long as necessary. Shes done amazing well so far, and we couldnt be more grateful. We feel like she has her life back and is finally out of pain after so many years.

While I am only 2 weeks post surgery the operation appears very successful. Dr Fernando uses the anterior approach which I wanted and the incision is healing excellently. I was off the walker and Cane in 9 days and while there is still swelling and light pain I feel I’ll be walking normal in another 2 weeks. On day of surgery prior to entering the operating room Dr Fernando came into the prep area and said “I’ll do a good job for you”. Which for me Sounded confident and reassuring.

Dr Fernando has done fantastic on my dad’s hip replacement. Thank you doctor for giving him the opportunity to walk again after seeing many doctors with no hope.

My surgery was put off longer that it should have been, and the recovery was also longer that I would have liked. But after 10 months I am back to doing most everything I could want. Surgeon explained the prognosis well, and I am very satisfied with his work.

I had a total left knee replacement on 11/7/16. I stayed one night at NW Hospital, and was discharged the next day. Within 30 days I was walked around Green Lake - 2.8 miles. In 60 days I went snowshoeing on Stevens Pass a number of times. After 40 years of bone on bone and much pain, I am now pain free! I cannot thank Dr. Fernando enough for his splendid work and professional demeanor. I would recommend him to anyone who can follow instructions, wants to be rid of knee pain and is willing to do some PT post op.

We saw Dr. Fernando about a year ago. His words were, quit smoking and come back after youve quit for 6 months. Ill test your hair to make sure you quit. Ok, my husband could not quit smoking for more than a few weeks, so now, here we are a year later and my husband is scheduled for surgery to have his infected leg amputated because no one wanted a pre-existing condition. I guess that sound fair. If you smoke you dont deserve to save your infected leg. Maybe it would better if he just died.
