This is an amazing company. Besides the amazing work they are doing regarding genetic testing, and the follow up counseling that they provide, they actually care about making it affordable. Having a family member with any kind of delays or disability is a huge financial strain on most families. I cant express enough gratitude for a business that takes that into account and is willing to work within the financial means of the family. Bravo!

Very helpful. I am thankful we actually communicated with Lineagen. As other people state, we also received a large bill and reached out to them to set up a payment plan or something because I could not pay the bill. They immediately worked with us and had great communication and kindness toward my family. I highly recommend their services.

Im still in the process of using Lineagen. So far I have been very impressed with the assistance that has provided. As others have said, my insurance was billed almost $8000 for a genetic test for my autistic son, which I thought was part of the doctor appointment. The company emailed me paperwork to appeal if necessary. I immediately told them not to do the test if there would be any cost to me, because I cant afford it. I was assured there would be no cost, this was just the process. My insurance paid $5400, and I received a bill for $1400. I contacted them and received a call from Jamie. I sent her all email correspondence I had. She said she would get back to me. I spoke to the doctor 3 weeks later who said he would contact them because they receive white glove service for sending all patients there (confirming my initial reaction that this is a scam in which doctors receive a kick back from). Jamie called that day, but I missed the call, since I was on the way home from the doctor who is an hour away. I called back, and still have not heard back. But I did receive another notice today that my bill remains unpaid. They completely take advantage of families of children with disabilities. My result: normal. I am serious.

They were the best to deal with from start to finish! From the DNA testing, the battle with insurance companies, and the invoicing team who helped us tremendously, it was all a breeze. Very nice and personable staff! They were great!

My wife and I had both our special-needs daughters DNA-tested through Lineagen. The staff were friendly, and helpful. Janet M. in particular did a great job talking us through the process, and guided us through the medical/insurance maze.Would definitely recommend.

No longer using them for genetic testing services for our clinic as they continue to change their billing practices without clear communications to families or responsible parties. We agree to pay 100% of out-of-pocket costs for our families, but Lineagen insists on income documentation and billing families/threatening them for collections, while not explaining to them they simply need to complete an income verification. Operations/billing is unwilling to modify their processes to serve the unique needs of their clients.PS. Love the canned reply from Lineagen below about how great their family assistance program is, which totally sidestepped the point of how intransigent their operations/billing department is. Our clinic is footing the bill for these patients out of pocket expenses, yet they expect to get the income verification documentation from their families by NOT communicating the documentation is missing to the FAMILIES OR TO OUR CLINIC. Madness. So glad we switched to GeneDX, which has lower rates AND modified their billing practices to create a mutual fit with our special program and their services.

We agreed to this testing thinking our insurance would cover the cost. And if it didnt, how much could it be, right? DNA testing is getting less expensive, and more widely used, the cost couldnt possibly that prohibitive?Guess again!$7,992.40!The bill I got is for $2700. For a DNA test? For two markers? Seriously? No wonder insurance doesnt want to cover it! Its ridiculous! They priced this way out of reach because of course, they can!

Our law firm had the opportunity to work with Lineagen for some genetic testing. Their representative, Mariah Beckstead, made each step of the process from start to finish as easy as 1-2-3. She was responsive and went out of her way on numerous occasions to assist our needs and each time I spoke with her, she was as professional and kind as the first time. It was a pleasure to work with Lineagen.

Was told that we were waiting until we make sure it’s covered by insurance. Then I’m sent a bill for almost $1000. Because it takes over 3 months to perform, we went into the next year in which my deductible was not met. They were not upfront with this. Made it seem like it would be very little out of pocket. Ended up paying $500 for a test that told me what I already knew. Genetics aren’t responsible for my son’s autism. Got more info from 23andme for less than $100. Save your money!!

Our son struggles with Klinefelters syndrome (XXY chromosomal defect). Before Lineagen, we knew that he was different and the public schools talked about Autism Spectrum Disorder and offered EAPs and other forms of help, but no one could tell us what might be going on or what we really needed to do to help him succeed in life.Once our sons pediatrician suggested we look at genetic testing with Lineagen and we received the results, everything made sense. His behaviors fit right in with all the information we could find about Klinefelters, and we now know much more about what helps, what doesnt, and most important of all, what to expect for his future. Understanding is a blessing.Lineagen was also very helpful and cooperative in working through things with our insurance carrier, which wanted to force everything on us because the Lineagen test is experimental and unproven. They helped by carrying the burden of going through the appeals process (which we eventually won) and theyve been more than fair in how theyve treated us and what theyve asked us to pay.I would recommend Lineagen and their services very highly if you think genetic testing might shed some light on the challenges you face.

Really sketchy, they say theyll call you back within 4 hours, but Ive left several messages over the past 2 days trying to get a CPT number theyre going to use to bill my insurance so I know I wont get an unexpected bill like others here are reporting. They have yet to call me back.Im thinking about just cancelling it all because now in sketched out nobody can give me an answer about what theyre going to bill my insurance.

Took my son to the doctor to get diagnose for autism to qualify for special education. The doctor recommend we do a Lineagen test, which was optional and supposedly covered by insurance. 5 months later we got a bill from Linegen for $7000.00! That’s right Seven Thousand dollars! This is a total scam. They must pay the doctor a commission for every patient they rip-off. I’m going to report them to both to the state of AZ and Utah for insurance fraud and predatory billing practices.

My son has autism. His doctor recommended genetic testing. I was told that they wouldnt do the testing unless my insurance approved. I agreed to the testing because his doctor had brought it up at each visit, so I thought I should do it. They billed me for $7,000! When I opened the bill I cried. There is no way I can pay that. I beleive its a scam. Why would his doctor bring it up multiple times? I dont know if the doctors get some sort of cut. Of course I would do anything for my son and I agreed because the doctor recommended it. Now I dont know what to do. My son is disabled but he doesnt get Medicaid. I work and he is under my isurance. What makes me even more upset is that I told his doctor that I was stuggling to pay for his ABA therapy. Then the doctor recommends genetic testing. I believe the doctor knew the cost but didnt say anthing about it. The doctor just said they wont run the test unless my insurance approves. Never in my wildest dreams (or nightmare I should say) did I think I would get billed for $7,000!!

I also received a bill for genetic testing done for my son, 10 months after testing a bill for 600$! Even though I was assured that approval would be obtained from my insurance before testing was done, I checked with my insurance and the approval was denied! But lineagen still ran the test and are now trying to bill me for it...
