Brought my car in for a single axel issue and they called me saying I had triple the price worth of repairs needed done. Went to a dealership to get it professionally checked out and all of the claims these mechanics made about my car being broke were completely false. Nice guys but poor service

I had an amazing experience with Certified Automotive, I came in for a brake flush and they explained I probably didnt need it but they would do a full inspection for free to be safe. I was waiting for an upsell but was pleasantly surprised when they came back saying my car was in perfect condition and wouldnt need to get the brake fluid flushed for at least another 12k miles. Ill definitely be back next time my vehicle needs any work done, this was the best experience Ive ever had with an auto shop.

Let me start by saying they did not actually do any work on my car so this review isn’t about that. This is strictly about customer service. From the moment I walked in with my van the guy helping me out told me things that were wrong with it and already ordered the parts. I was feeling like he saw me as a way to make money. After the inspection I fully understand there were lots of issues with my van but I felt very belittled in the way these things were communicated. I felt as if because I was a female by myself I was treated worse than if I were someone else. Or maybe that’s how they treat everyone I don’t know. The other guy and the mechanic was much more direct and respectful to me. To put it simply if I am going to be paying lots of money to service my car I should be treated much better. I will take my van somewhere else if I decide to get it fixed.

The folks at Certified Automotive were very friendly! After their inspection, they clearly explained to me their findings and didn’t pressure me into making a decision or talk down to me. In the end I decided to have them replace my AC system, and they completed the work and removed the inspection fee from the final invoice (greatly appreciated!). Now my AC is working like brand new!

When my car malfunctioned near Salt Lake City on a cross country trip, I called Certified Automotive and they they were able to look at my Toyota relatively quickly. These guys really know their stuff and they were able to diagnose the problem and get me back on the road in a couple of hours. I had no further issues on my drive back to Wisconsin. Although they knew I was from out of state they treated me like a local repeat customer. If I lived in the Salt Lake City area this would be the place I would take all my cars for service.

I have been a customer of Certified Auto for a long time. Fortunately, the culture which was established many years back has been sustained through changes in ownership and flourishes today. Having arranged the purchase of a 1995 GMC Suburban with 200,000 miles for a son, I brought the vehicle in for a complete look. I had provided a long list, with the confidence that I could ask them to judge which services and repairs were needed. There were major leaks to deal with, some dysfunction, and many unknowns. This trust factor has been extremely important for me over the years. They once again delivered on every detail. They deemed some services not needed. Others were tailored to the age of the vehicle. There was an appreciated workaround on some rusted transmission lines. All leaks were addressed, including two sources which had not been previously identified. Some of the front-end linkage replacements, which necessarily had been installed the previous day in another county because the vehicle could not be driven without this work being done, were found to be loose and were dealt with (without charge) just in the normal course of doing the work I had requested. I was once again thrilled with the work this team delivered!

It was my first time at Certified Automotive and I had a good experience. They were able to drive me home from the shop which was a total life saver! They were really clear, kind, and professional when telling me what was up with my car. It ended up being a fat chunk of change (more than was originally estimated) since my AC was in worse shape than first thought, but hey that’s cars for you. It was a repair I was needing for a long time so it was about time I got it fixed. Thanks guys!

Today was my second time in, and the service was just as amazing as the first. These guys are the most honest, flexible, and fastest repair shop Ive found. They will never charge you for things without your written consent, are super communicative during the entire repair, and never treat you condescendingly. Another repair shop messed with my back hatch and refused to take responsibility, so I took my vehicle in here, and I was in and out in under an hour, only 100 bucks out with my car working again. Can never say enough good things.

I was not happy with this place. I thought theyd be good based on the reviews. All in all I spent $300 plus just for them to tell me that it could be this or it could be that and they didnt really know. Also they made me pay for the registration for my car that they knew wouldnt pass emissions testing. Im never gonna see that money again. Horrible experience.

Don’t bother reading the positive reviews on this place. They were not effective in helping my mother with her car and then continued to call and harass her after her review. She ended up having to file a police report due to threats made by the staff here. As I read through the other reviews, I see that she is not the only one to deal with this type of unprofessionalism. Also, read the company responses to other bad reviews. They are very unprofessional and they do not do anything to rectify any unsatisfaction. They are very immature and have a lack of customer satisfaction. How is this place even open? And any company condoning the employees to harass and threaten older people should be shut down.Edted to add: We would not have called to police if the employee Richard Shaw had not called my mother more than once from his personal number to threaten her and threaten to ruin her car. Threatening people is not how a business should run. I hope to stop anyone else from being victimized by this horrible place of business. I’m very upset that my mother was threatened over a review she left because she was dissatisfied a Nissan certified mechanic couldn’t fix her car due to it being a Nissan problem. Well I took my car for air condition service and I felt the service was fair but then I had front end problems with the same vehicle and I went back two different times and Ithey still didnt correct the problem and come to find out from another mechanic they put parts in that didnt need to be replaced so Im not very happy with this company aso you choose whether you want to use this company or not but beware

I had a used car inspection done here for a vehicle I wanted to purchase. They were able to schedule on super short notice and they did a thorough inspection. After the inspection it was found that the car needed $2500 in repairs so I decided not to buy it. Super helpful and definitely worth the money!

The best service! Car broke down on an early Sunday morning and I got a call first thing on Monday. They got my car turned around in less than two days for a massive fix with a busy schedule. After they fix my car they didn’t put everything back when I took my car home and a few day later I check the back of my car and it look mass they check something under my car and take out my car part and not even put it back and give me a hard time put the car part back.

I called in the morning to ask if I could get my van in for an oil change that day. I hadnt used this shop before, but it is so conveniently located to my work. They set a time for me, text me a reminder and when I was running late, continued to work around my schedule. I was able to leave the van and wasnt in a hurry, but they completed it quickly anyway. The best part -- the gesture that I was so impressed with is when I was paying. They asked me if this was my first visit with them, and when I responded yes, they automatically gave me $25 off my bill. They certainly care about the customer and your car. Amazing, honest and incredible work! I went in for a brake inspection and an oil change and upon completion they told me exactly what was wrong with my brakes, what it would cost to fix it, what the warranty would be and how long it would take. Having no coupons in hand I was planning on paying the full price for the services. Keith stepped in and told me that he would give me the coupon price for the services rendered and took care of the inspection charge cutting my bill by 3/4! I would very much recommend this place to anyone looking for good, quality, honest and reliable automotive work.

I made an appt. to have the transmission fluid changed in my 2012 Prius. I was impressed by how clean the shop was and the candor of the employees that checked me in. My cost was quoted at about $240, but came in about $100 less because there was no need to flush the transmission repeatedly. They could have very easily just went with their original statement and collected the $240, but they were honest and as a result, in my mind, got a deal. I will definitely be going back to Certified Automotive and will refer friends and family.

A few months back, my car stopped cranking or starting up. I had it towed here, within walking distance of my apartment. The employees here were so kind and accommodating, helped the towing personnel manage my car down, and were full of smiles and jokes. They held the car overnight and called me to let me know that they tried to duplicate the issue a couple dozen times and couldnt - I picked it up and oddly, havent had a problem since. Although I ended up not having to have a repair completed, Ill definitely come back when I do - my short experience was pleasant and worry free with them. :)

I took my truck in for an inspection and emission test. During the inspection they discovered that my brakes needed work. (which I already suspected) They called with a very fair and reasonable price to do the work and had everything done that day. Good, quick, honest, reliable service is what I got from Keith and his team. So good that this is the only place I will take my truck in for service in the future.

Certified Automotive is overpriced. I ended up finding a place much cheaper and taking my car there. I was a paying customer, so I assumed they would keep my car on their lot, yet they offered to recycle my car for me and sell it for parts! No thank you! Certified was just where Triple AAAA happened to tow me. Im from up North, Davis County, and I found a place that was cheaper up there so I had it towed up there. The second that Certified Automotive found out I wasnt going to have my car repaired with them they cut off the water to the waiting room by having the Culligan man come in and shut it off so I would go thirsty, with no apologies. Talk about terrible customer service! Also, they have a bad racist attitude. Dont get your car done here unless you want to overpay for everything.

They seemed knowledgeable and didnt try to sell me anything I didnt need. I went in for a tire rotation and alignment after working on the rear shocks and ended up not needing the alignment. They brought me a pretty well laid out alignment diagram after checking it to show me exactly what the cars current alignment was. I plan on going back after doing my front struts.

Youll never find anyone more upbeat and knowledgeable than Keith. Hes so fun to talk to and I always trust what he has to say. Definitely recommend to friends and family!

Ive been a customer of Certified Automotives for a couple years now, and Im quite happy. Their location is in a fairly ghetto industrial area with a small lot, but I chose them because they were AAA and ASE certified, had their certifications clearly displayed proudly in the lobby, and the lobby was clean and felt like they had pride in their shop. They are a bit higher priced than some other shops, but Im the kind that will pay a bit more to avoid the nightmares that can happen to you (and your wallet) at a dishonest shop. I feel this shop is honest- they could have taken the opportunity at times to tell me I needed things I didnt, but they chose to tell me honestly that I didnt need something or would be fine to wait some more time. I especially love their free shuttle service (a PT cruiser, actually!) anywhere in the valley- I can drop my car off, have them take me to work, and pick it up when Im done without having to take vacation time. Only downsides I could think of are time- they are a smaller shop that is very thorough, which of course means work takes a bit longer than speedy shops who just care about getting you in and out. I am a huge fan of Gene, who is so knowledgeable and friendly and started the shop when it began. Highly recommended for honesty. Just wanted to write a review and give a shout out! :)
