Dr. Ling Xu has the same wonderful personality that she had when I last visited her over 3 years ago. I drove 2.5 hrs from where I live in Gastonia to Raleigh to start my dental treatments and will continue until it’s complete and will go for my twice a year visits. Dr. Xu makes me feel comfortable enough to trust the work that she advises. Jenna and her dental assistant were great as well!

The dentist was GREAT Ling xu. The billing rep made me pay in full for my routine cleaning and x-rays. I have had my insurance on file for years with them(dentist saw it when I was with her) billing reps said I had no insurance just to pay and they will reimburse me later. I went in for fillings and was told the same after I had already gave my insurance information and called to verify my insurance and told it was active and has been for years same insurance. I was told after paying a second time that I would get my money back in 4-6 weeks I call them 3 weeks later to check on the status and I was told I didnt ask for it back and that I now owe the $39 more dollars for fluoride treatment that I did not ask for and was not told it would be done . I spoke to receptionist Who stated she cant do anything but tell office manager I asked rep for her name she would not give it to me she just kept saying she has a patient and disconnected call. I called back to ask her name she said she is busy with a patient and still refused to give it to Mr and disconnected call again. I think it was brook because when I had to call back again to BEG for money due to me on the intro she said her name was Brooke. My dentist was great but the receptionist and billing department is going to cause her to lose alot of patients. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY MONEY CALL MAKE THEM CALL YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY BECAUSE YOU WILL BE BEGGING FOR IT BACK

Please be very careful if you decide to use UDA DENTAL for anything other than routine cleaning. I had a root canal and they messed up the entire process and ended up breaking the bridge. I may have been unlucky with a physician assistant who clearly did not know what he was doing - 10 attempts to take simple x-rays, pushing dental bridge around to fix basic stuff. They called me for a yearly follow up and clinical staff had no idea why I was called.

I think the staff here (Interchange) are of quality and know what theyre doing. However, they continue to have the systems issues that theyve had for years. I made an appointment a year in advance since I only have to come annually, then I drove 30 minutes to get there only to be told that there was no appointment, apparently because my appointment was attached to a dentist who is no longer there. They tried to act as if I didnt make the appointment but I had the confirmation text on my phone from them from a year ago. Luckily, they were actually able to work me in and didnt have to send me 30 minutes back home, but if they hadnt I would have called management and this probably would have been my last time using this office.

Today I was preparing to leave home for an appointment with Dr. Yu a periodontist at the Cary NC office at 2 PM to receive long planned surgery related to a new crown. At 1:10 PM received call cancelling the appointment because he, was I was told, uncomfortable performing the procedure. An hour earlier, there was a call requesting my Cardiologists telephone number to confirm again medical clearance already provided a few days earlier, and not requested previously. So a new appointment was established in 2 weeks. Called again about an hour later to refuse to perform the procedure and get another periodontist to do it. He had first seen me in November to look at the tooth and was given all medical information and the written referral initially provided by my regular dentist describing what was needed. Dr. Yu told me to get the root canal from an orthodontist, none available at his practice, before he could perform the surgery. Did get this done and set another appointment. At the second appointment in late December he said he could not perform the surgery until I got a temporary crown, so left office without surgery. So I did get my dentist to put in the temporary crown and he updated Dr. Yu on my status and provided latest records and x rays. Appointment was set for today and suddenly he was not comfortable performing the surgery. I have had this same type surgery and other procedures by specialists over the years without incident. Will be in contact with the State Board of Dental Examiners.

My family and I have been going to UDA now for 4 years. We have always have great experience here. The hygienists and doctors that we have seen have been awesome. My 6 year old has never felt anxious for going here. At my ladt visit, my hygienist,Jennifer, was AWESOME!! I left there feeling like I recieved a thorough cleaning. Would highly recommend her and the doctors! The front desk were also friendly.

Some hygienists in this office are very aggressive. They always push you to have x-rays and other additional services. My husband went to get dental cleaning this morning. He declined the hygienist request to have x-ray, then she told him We cant see you if you dont take x-ray. He left immediately. I cancelled all of our familys future appointments. Our dental plan covers x-ray, but we dont want to have x-ray as frequently as they want for their wallet. They dont care at all about their customers feeling and needs. Too greedy!!!

This office continues to prove itself inefficient, unprofessional and always behind schedule. We love our regular office at the Morrisville location. However for more complex care or oral surgery they refer to the Jones Franklin office. Today we have been waiting 40 mintes past the appointment time for a consultation. Unacceptable. When asking questions about billing, we cannot seem to get clear anwers. They arent clear on treatment plans. Why wouldnt you inform someone that several extractions need to happen prior to a crown. They performed a root canal and crown build up, then said they could not complete the crown until the wisdom teeth were removed. Why wasnt that done prior to doing the other work. I will say Dr. Yu has been very nice.

We had a positive clinical experience with this office. The doctors took great care of my daughter during an oral surgery and the issue was resolved without issue. However, billing has been a nightmare. Reading the reviews, it sounds like I am not alone.I paid the patient responsibility at time of service for an oral surgery procedure for my daughter. 6 months later, I received a bill for nearly $400 for this procedure. Alarmed, I called my insurance company, was told the claim was submitted incorrectly, and that it was the provider’s responsibility to resubmit. Billing the patient is in breach of their contract. They asked if I wanted to file a complaint. I said no, mistakes happen, and I can discuss with the provider. I called them and spoke with a rep who apologized and said he would work with our insurance to resolve the issue.Fast-forward to today, a month later, they sent me a letter threatening to send me to collections, involve attorneys (and charge me all attorney fees) and cancel all of my future appointments if I don’t pay this balance (which I don’t actually owe) in 10 days. I filed a complaint with insurance, who is telling me to disregard any invoices, but I know this kind of nonsense can ruin my credit. All because they are billing incorrectly and ignoring the terms of their insurance contracts. Stay away.

Do not go to this place!! There billing department + front desk is a joke. They would send you home without a charge or charge you less, so that you would have a past due in the future. Do you know how much my past due was: $1!! I just called them a week ago to pay, and they charged me $1 less again, so that I have a past due again! BTW, they dont send you a bill. All you get is a Delinquent notice. Are these people insane? If collection is what you want to deal with, go see these people.

I had a lot wrong with my teeth until I came here! I travel for work and rarely get time off for anything. I scheduled to have my teeth cleaned and to get cavities drilled and filled. The environment was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. That same week I had two root canals done. I really enjoy going to these dental offices to get work done. I highly recommend going here if you want friendly dentist that care about their work and won’t let you down.

Waited in the waiting room for 40 minutes for appointment to start. Poor communication throughout the entire appointment. Hygienist typed on the computer with the same gloves she put in my mouth. Zero ability to accommodate for an anxious patient. No explanation of treatment plan. X-ray tech was rude and impatient-no sympathy for anxious patient here. Rude response to questioning treatment plan (fair because you know, its my body and my money were talking about here? I only needed clarification). I left in tears. If you have ANY minor nervousness about the dentist, value your time or prefer a sanitary and well-communicated appointment....Do. Not. Go. Here.

I arrived 15 minutes early for my appointment. Kimberly Pearson, hygienist, called me on-time for my appointment. This was my first time with Kimberly as my hygienist. She was professional, courteous, and very personable. Kimberly took the time to explain everything she was doing and why she was doing it. I will never come back again to this scam place again! Before I did my night gard I got a statement of how much I should pay and what my insurance should cover, but before I leave I asked them to check with my insurance if they can cover the full amount. The employee said: its gonna take 2 weeks. After 2 weeks I called UDA and the employee tolled me that the insurance will only cover the same amount as the statement, so I agreed on paying my share. After 6 months I went for cleaning session and when I reached the front desk she asked me to go with her and showed me that my insurance has refused the payment and I still have balance to pay. I tolled her how didnt anyone from your office reached me for all this time and how the previous employee said she called and checked! After calling my insurance for clarification I called the billing department and tolled her that once I gave my insurance the code you gave me they said they dont cover night guard, so how did your employee claims that she checked with them and they only gonna covers the statement amount! So either she was lied to me or she didnt care 😡 they kept saying its my fault for not checking and they will ask the management to call me back for 3 times, but no one did. I payed the amount at the end, but will not go ever again. The billing and front desk is a joke and designed for scam.

Not only did they not verify my insurance information and called me on Saturday morning to try to do it at last minute. They also had me go Monday morning just to let me know that if I didnt have the cash to pay for the full cost upfront then i could not be seen. This is completely unprofessional and careless of their patients that miss work she couldve perfectly let me know Saturday that if I didnt have the money to pay for the full cost to just reschedule until they could verify my insurance information. *Hence: they called me twice for it. The second time the person wasnt even aware that I had already submitted my info. Very upset dont waste people time and days they ask off work for no reason. I never argue with anybody but who was working made no effort whatsoever to help the situation all they did was act as if, oh its no biggie just reschedule, as if I wont be missing two days of work now. Funny thing I read their reviews in the morning decided to give it a shot! Guess what? The bad reviews were legitimate!

Dr. Yu has patiently answered all of my questions, and given me options for my dental care. I am a VERY high anxiety dental patient, but UDA has taken excellent care of me. I had my first root canal today, I was amazed at how easily it went with Dr. King, he and the technician ensured my comfort at EVERY step. They encouraged me to repeatedly to notify them at the first sign of discomfort. I can say this, next time, my anxiety level will be much lower.

They do not anwer their phones or return calls left on their answering machines. The message just says they are busy assisting other patients no matter what time you call. If you want to make an appointment there you pretty much have to drive down there and go in their office to make the appointment. Ive even tried dialing their number from in the waiting room to see what would happen and I get the same message that they are assisting other patients and cant answer the phones, but I see several receptionists sitting their in the office doing nothing while I am dialing them and dont even hear a phone ringing. If any other place took my insurance I would 100% go elsewhere. Completely useless dental practice!!

Love my hygienist, Tracy Ball, who is the only reason I still even go to this practice. Their front desk staff are horrible. They changed my appointment time and made it with a different person without even telling me. When I called to correct them, they said they changed it so they could close early that day. And I couldnt get another appointment for a month and a half. Terrible customer service!

I have nothing but positive things to say about University Dental Associates Interchange. After bad experiences with other dentists, I had not been to the dentist in a few years, and was dreading yet another experience. I was delighted with the care and attention I received at University. Everyone on the staff goes out of their way to make you as comfortable as possible. I had a root canal yesterday and I am surprised at how little pain I felt. And, the billing people are excellent, too. I am surprised by the comment about a Saturday (surely we should understand that they dont work on Saturday!). I highly recommend Dr. Xu and everyone at the practice.

Only day to speak to a oral surgeon is on Saturday..if you look at their schedule that day is the shortest. I work at a job where Saturday are our busiest days I told them my schedule 7-4 they only offer me a appointment at 4pm not to forget the all the way to Cary almost and I work in Raleigh then threaten me not to be late not even giving me 15mins to get there the from my job because the sugeron will wait that long out of their time . The facility is good and the dentist seem great. Both times we have been here and each time on the phone the receptionist was very direct and matter of the fact. She seems to be into her job as far as prompt but doesnt understand how important it is to encourage or help with customer satisfaction. To be friendly, to listen, and make customers feel important and wanted, should be of upmost importance. When asked if we could get a status on our son after he had been in surgery for awhile, she said something like his appointment time isnt over, and no we dont interrupt the staff. Never been in a dental or surgery center where the family of a patient wasnt kept informed of the patients status and the receptionist was not friendly or helpful.

Having paid for an immediate set of dentures, both upper and lower, and not having been able to wear the lower ones at all, it seems like a major waste of time and money. I have never been one to complain or publicly discredit a company or person before, however I feel that it is absolutely necessary that people know how horrible this place is. I will preface this review by saying my doctor was wonderful and knowledgeable, but it does not make up for what the office manager put me through. I needed quite extensive dental work and was given a treatment plan that I did agree to and sign. However, one stage of my treatment did not go right and needed to be fixed. I was assured that this was not going to be charged, but of course I received a bill. I was told I needed to speak with the “office manager” to get this resolved, well let me tell you how many times I tried calling that woman, 9 TIMES. It is obvious she was avoiding my calls so I finally came to the office myself. When I finally got a chance to meet with this woman it was hard to focus on anything other than her breasts hanging out of her shirt and her incapability to do her job. She talked in circles and treated me as if I were 2 years old. I have been so frustrated with my experience there that I have gone elsewhere obviously. The billing practices combined with the office manager’s unprofessionalism, poor attitude and inability to do her job have led me to believe this office is failing horribly. DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE!!!!!

I have had repeated problems with my bills. Once I was charged an entirely different amount than I was originally quoted after the office spoke with and got approval and co-payment amounts from my insurance company. I had to do all the legwork and get documentation from my insurance company to present to them. Meanwhile, they were threatening to send me to collections while we were still within thirty days of the appointment. I got that all straightened out, but then my next appointment comes and they lose my co-payment. I had to show them the receipt they gave me plus get confirmation from my bank (research that I had to pay my bank for), that the transaction was finalized. I decided when the second billing irregularity occurred that I was changing dentists.

Came for a consult for a rootcanal they did gone bad, I get there at 920 for a 930am appointment. Waiting for 40minutes and still not seen, meanwhile other people are being called and leaving every 10mins. After waiting another 10mins i told the lady upfront i am leaving. If you are military or a veteran DO NOT go to this clinic. They opted out of tricare coverage on 01APR. My wife had an appointment back in Feb and they scheduled her a follow up for Apr without informing us they would no longer accept our insurance. The receptionist even wrote the amount my wife would owe for that appt on her reminder card which was only like 30 bucks. After the appointment was over, they then decided to tell us they had just dropped tricare and we would responsible for the full bill. I called tricare and they confirmed that this clinic opted out of the coverage themselves.These predatory and pervasive business practices targeting our Armed Forces and their health is disgusting. You should be ashamed of yourself. I have filed a report with the Fraud and Abuse Division of Tricare and DoD. The right thing to do would have been to either schedule my wifes appointment for March knowing you would be ending your coverage soon or to inform my wife when the appointment was scheduled that our insurance would no longer be accepted by your clinic, certainly not lie to us about the price and elect not to mention it all until AFTER services have been rendered.You still have an opportunity to make this right.

I have had nothing but problems with this office. They charged me twice in one year for x-rays but only took them once. I received a bill for a second set of x-rays (that I never received) because my insurance wouldnt cover it. The office had coded it incorrectly in their system, I even looked up the correct ICD-9 code for a standard visit with cleaning (no x-rays) online, and in my previous years bill but they refused to change the code. I then received a bill for $100 for a consultation, though the dentist did not speak to me or even look in my mouth. I sat in the chair while she read my chart and spoke to her assistant, the assistant told me they would be ordering the part they needed and would have me come in once they received it, something they could have done without me there. Another way for them to make money and scam the insurance company.

UDA is like family and has been my dentist for a long time and Ive gone through a couple hygienists and doctors through the years, (some moved to other places and some retired) but they have always been great. Its always a pleasure to see my current hygenist, Cathy, and Dr. Yu is great. Cathy is very experienced, seasoned, and cleans my teeth comfortably and efficiently. I love the calming music she plays. I was very happy of their recommendations on care and also what to expect as I went forward and when Id be needing certain X-rays and panoramic in the future. They seemed very pleased with my teeth health and that always makes me happy that Im doing a good job! Everyone from the front desk to checkout has always been very friendly and professional. I had an appointment today for a sleep apnea device, they call it silent night. I spoke with someone in the office yesterday at length & explained that I had already had a problem with another practice regarding this appliance & I emphasized my concerns & they said they were a blue cross provider & for this my copay was supposed to be $10. I saw Dr Xu & couldnt understand a word she said. The appliance was going to be flimsy & I explained that I had ripped several invisaline retainers. They had no sample, just kept saying this was thinner than invisaline. I decided no & at checkout the person I had spoken with the day before tells me I owe $140. The dr didnt even look at me or my mouth, just babbled. I refused to pay & wont. The desk lady keeps on trying to show me the amount for my appliance. I walked out. Stay away. Ill pay out of pocket at the reliable Dr who is out of network.
