Jonathan and the front desk manager were completely unprofessional more so the manager. She was not understanding what I was telling her regarding my insurance and she was very rude and belligerent, it’s ironic because I’ve never had an issue in the past at this location.She kept insisting I needed a referral based off of my insurance and I kept reiterating to her that my insurance does not need one, so much in fact that she became so annoyed so then I had my insurance company call them and clear the matters. My insurance company said she was rude as well. They literally told her what I was telling her for over 15min that my insurance does not need a referral to see a specialist. They told her the same thing. Next time listen to understand not just listen to respond.I was also supposed to get a phone call for my results for a follow up and never did, I was supposed to get an appointment today also on 10-1-2021 because someone canceled and little do you know I never got the call for my appointment. The manager told me and the insurance company I was scheduled for today and I wasn’t seen. I hear great things from this doctor all the time but the front desk staff and manager in particular is bringing this place down.Dr Mejiah is wonderful but my goodness the staff is horrendous, please do something about it.

This medical office NEVER returns messages, never answers the phone no matter what you push and never provided test results from last year. It is absolutely unprofessional to not respond to messages or e-mails. I would absolutely not recommend any physicians office that does not let their patients feel valued. They have no problem supplying medical orders for tests, but dont provide results to the patient, and then re-order the same exact test. This simply places added undue financial pressures on a patient without ever really getting to the bottom of medical conditions. If I dont get a response today, I am filing a complaint with Florida Medical Board. Unacceptable! ANSWER YOUR PHONE!!!!!!!

I read bad reviews of this place, but I had a great experience with this dr and his staff. They were very helpful when I had a concern about the referral. Their office manager was also very helpful. The dr listen to you and is very kind. Definitely recommend !!!!

This is the worst place I have ever had to deal with when it comes to medical. First, you can NEVER get through to them via email or over the phone. When they call you back they call you after their closing time so if you miss a call and call right back, they don’t answer and the snarky operator says the office is closed. Honestly the doctors are good and the nurses are nice but the office staff and organization of this place is worse than the DMV. I have yet to get my FMLA paperwork sent after over a month for my employer. About to contact someone about this because this is my job.Won’t be coming here anymore. Don’t recommend.

I never had any problem with appointment with this office, everyone was helpful.I had a colonoscopy with Dr. Mejia, everything went smoothly, I could do it every year with no problem if I had to. (prep is the hardest part, haha)First I thought Dr. Mejia was not the most friendly doctor, but he is very knowledgeable and assured me that I am in good hands over the times.

Dr. Mejia is a great doctor, but the staff that work at the office, they dont care about the patients at all, is impossible to reach them, Nobody answers the phone and you can never speak to them. Ive being trying to get in contact with Dr. Mejia nurse or medical assistant for a month now, they dont call back and dont follow up, then you call back the office and you need to leave a voicemail, thats it! you will never hear back from them. Very frustrating. Looking forward to get a new doctor.

Dr. Mejia is one of the best Drs I have ever had! I moved back to NC so I do not see him anymore and I really do wish I could! He provides excellent care!

Scheduled an appointment back in August for September 24th. I received two calls September 23rd to verify insurance and to confirm the appointment. The second call I missed. I called the morning of the 24th to confirm and the gentlemen on the phone said a nurse would be calling before 2pm. I never received that call. Ive called multiple times since then and left messages but havent been able to reach anyone. I just tried again twice this morning and the call goes to a voicemail box after a few rings.

They do not keep any of their appts. and will bill you for it. Steer clear of this practice.

The worst kind of place you can imagine. They are trying their best to avoid personal contact and they are scheduling teledoc / telehealth / telehell appointments only.But... here is the problem: THEY DONT CALL YOU BACK! You wait for the appointment and no one calls you. The manager for this place does not return your call, there is no supervisor, the nurse wont respond.My TeleHell was not even scheduled with a (real) doctor: it was an assistant (janitor?) who was going to call me, and no call was received.I lost three weeks waiting for this appointment and... NO CALL RECEIVED!This place is a nightmare.They should pay the patient the missed appointment fee because they are just plain incompetent to handle the appointments they schedule. If you miss your appointment, you will be charged for it. But when they schedule, you wait and no one calls... They wont pay you for your lost time!

If I could provided a zero start I would. This doctor services is horrible. I suppose to have an appointment today a 11:50am. It supposed to be a teleconference call. Never received the call nor nobody answered at the doctor office. It has been almost an hour and no call from the doctor office personnel or Practitioners. Very disappointing with their service. Coronavirus does not get transmitted via phone call. Please give me a break. Does not press #2 it get you in circles

This is the worst experience I have ever had. The office is so unorganized. At first I already had a bad experience because I wasn’t told enough information. It’s my first time going to a gastroenterologist and they dont give you ANY information about going into the procedure. They are so rude and son’t seem like they care about their patients and are so unprofessional. I have been waiting for my results and they make you wait so long and don’t give you reminders for when you’re appointment is coming up. They tell you that they will send voice mails and other massages and they dont. I have been waiting in this online waiting room and after nearly 45 minutes of waiting for my results I got on the call with the doctor and I was told to wait 5 minutes more because they forgot to put down notes about my procedure????.... It has been an hour and now I cant contact them because I guess they are at lunch and quite frankly I don’t have all day for them to give me simple results.I’m so extremely dissatisfied and disappointed that professionals can get away with stuff like this. And now that I read the rest of the reviews I can tell that I am not the only one they have done this to. I do not recommend coming here. If you have any other choice I suggest you go look into a different office. And if this is your only choice then good luck. Do yourself a favor and just dont go here.

A bunch of unprofessional group of staff. I made an appointment 2 months ago for a telemedicine call because apparently they are not taking any face to face patients at this moment. Sadly, after waiting all morning, no call, and I decided to call office to ask what going on. The staff stated I must be available from morning until 2pm which no one told me this before. So I made myself available with my phone on hand. No doctor or nurse called me yesterday. Today, I called for a status only for the notes on my appointment to state that they called me and I didn’t answer. Pure BS, I had my phone next to me all day and zero missed call. The appointment staff had the nerves to ask me if I want to set up another appointment for late November because doctor is all booked. So unprofessional that you guys had a slip up and is not willing to make it right ASAP. Waiting another month is very unprofessional and ya’ll need to get it together over there. Periodt.

Dr. Mejia is a best doctor. I came here last week for my follow up . He came to my room and went over my results. He is a very calm and humble doctor, listens to his patients first and then explains. He is very knowledgeable and he knows what he is talking about.

Dr. Mejia and his staff is a great team. They take care off every patient like their own family member. He is very caring and great listener and explain each and every detail very nicely to their patients.

Let me start by saying that Dr Mejia is a very knowledgeable and friendly doctor. The rest of doctors and staff member are nowhere close to the professionalism of Dr Mejia. The issue is the office he works for, the staffing and the lack of human care/customer service they offer. It’s nearly impossible to get medical assistance over the phone, even if the question is in regards to medicine they prescribed. I requested a call back from the nurse practitioner three days after my visit and no call was ever received. I called several times to seek answers and I kept getting the same answer: they want you to come in. Unfortunately, 6 days after my visit, the medicine hasn’t been fulfilled due to the lack of response from the office.

Dr. Mejia is a very intelligent GI Specialist. His team members also very knowledge and always take care of their patients very well.

Coming from a background of almost 20 years in the medical field. Working from from desk to Medical Assistant to office Manager..This office is the most unprofessional office I have visited. Noone answers the phone or retun any messages left. I have even left messages requesting a manager to return my call and yet still waiting, going into 3 weeks of no test results for 2 proceduresI am very disappointed because this office came highly recommended.

Dr Mejia is a an extraordinary doctor. Caring, compassionate and never stops listening. We are blessed to have him.

I have tried to get through to someone in this office to reschedule an appointment since 10am 8/14/2018. I was placed on hold for 10 minutes and after that I hung up. I tried calling again and someone kept picking up and ending the call. This is very unacceptable coming from an office where a reputable Doctor works. I tried again at 3:40pm and my call was placed immediately on hold and as of this review Im still on hold for 18 minutes so far. This is a shame that this happens in this day in age. Very unacceptable! Dr. Mejias if you are reading this, I hope you get to the bottom of this problem.

I can’t believe how incompetent Orlando Gastroenterology has been. To say I’m angry is an understatement; I’m livid. I went for a consultation to have a hemorrhoidectomy. Dr. Pothamsetty recommended a flexible sigmoidoscopy before a hemorrhoidectomy, but the flexible sigmoidoscopy was optional. I then told the nurse I just wanted a hemorrhoidectomy, and she told me that a surgeon would call me to schedule it. 2 weeks later with no call, I called the office, since I wasn’t given a phone number or anything. The woman I spoke to on the phone told me that I had apparently denied wanting the procedure. She then scheduled me for the hemorrhoidectomy… Or so I thought. I specifically confirmed with her, “This is for the hemorrhoidectomy right, not the flexible sigmoidoscopy? I have to request off of work and put in all of my vacation time right now.” She confirmed. Well when I received the paperwork in the mail, sure enough it said “Flexible Sigmoidoscopy Instructions” at the top. Called again, and I spoke to Rosemary who told me that I wasn’t scheduled for a hemorrhoidectomy. She then called another place to try and schedule me for the hemorrhoidectomy on the same day so my time off work wouldn’t be wasted. When she called she said I was set for 2pm on that same day and I’d get instructions emailed. I wasn’t surprised at this point when I never got an email, and when I called the number she gave me and they told me I was scheduled for a New Patient exam and not surgery!That’s twice now that they have screwed up. I can only imagine how much worse it would have been if I’d walked in expecting to have a specific surgery, only to have a different one performed, or to be seen for a regular exam!! Rosemary said that they have to refer me out because they don’t do hemorrhoidectomies, and yet, you’d think someone would have told me that when I said it was the entire reason I wanted to make an appointment. I didn’t need to spend my entire copay just to have someone stick their finger up my butt and say “yep you have hemorrhoids!” Now I have two weeks of paid vacation, my only vacation of the year, to sit around and home and do nothing.

I went to see Dr. Mejia for the first time on October 29 2019. I was explaining my health issues with him, when suddenly he cut me off and told me LETS GET TO THE POINT. I think that was so rude and unprofessional of a doctor. I never went back to him. Also his staff are very rude, they seem in a rush.

Good luck getting anyone to answer the phone or call you back. Took almost a week of calling and voicemails to get someone to call back for an appointment. Once there I was scheduled for a procedure on the wrong day. Called to have it scheduled properly but couldn’t get ahold of anyone for 4 days. I was finally fed up and wanted to cancel all together and it’s now been 2 weeks of patient portal messages, phone calls and voicemails and there appointment is still not cancelled and there is a no show fee of $100.

Saw Dr. LM for the 1st time in February-2018 and he is GREAT! He took his time talking to me & listening to me. He has a very busy practice, but I never felt rushed by him. He did a couple of procedures in early March-2018 and his bedside manners are wonderful. His staff is not very pleasant in his Kissimmee office, but his staff is awesome at the Millenia Surgery Center! Dr. L. Mejia is truly a wonderful specialist. God bless him.

Stay away from this place ! Is people 100% unpleasant the doctor it’s not better and it’s something similar to threat with delinquent people they try to charge two or three times the same. Stay away , it’s an horrible place !

Dr Mejia has been an absolute life saver for me. He got to the bottom of what has been going on with my insides for an entire decade. I have felt so much more regulated since the end of last year because of him. The pain I would go through everytime was beyond excruciating. Now its a very rare instance. You can also tell that Dr Mejia genuinely cares about his patients and he takes the time that is needed with you as well.The only problem I have is not with the doctor, but is with their phone lines. Getting ahold of someone is often very frustrating and I get put on hold nearly everytime I call and often for 10 mins or more.The quality of the doctor though outweighs my frustration with their phone lines. They really need to work on this issue though.

Two weeks ago I made an appointment with the Spanish-speaking Dr. Mejía. They gave me the appointment with another dr. who did not speak Spanish. I finally managed to get back in touch and they gave me another appointment. Today comes, the 1st thing they do is charge me. They leave me more than an hour waiting with the teleconsultation. When I finally see dr. You cant hear it. Come back and call me and neither. I deal with several # of tel. Calling and nobody answers. And they didnt have the ethics to call me back to tell me what was going to happen with my date and my $. It has been an odyssey. I do not recommend

My 1-star evaluation is due to the martyrdom that nobody answers the telephone exchange, I spent all day yesterday calling and nobody answered, they agreed to send me my results by email yesterday and they did not, I think they should take these very seriously complaints so that they give us better service and attention, I believe that patients deserve better treatment and respect

Really, what irresponsible people. They never answer the phone. calls do not return even if you leave messages in English and Spanish. The instructions given by the person who answers the phone are unclear, it seems that she was lost. They made me miss a day of work because of a blessed appointment I made. They said they would call me to do the Screening Colon Cancer thing and they didnt call or apologize. SUPER IRRESPONSIBLE, I guess the ones that give a 5 star rating are employees, friends and family.

Dr. Mejia is a great doctor, he really takes the time to attend to his patients with a lot of professionalism and humanity. Like all its staff your attention is very nice.

He did not want to see me because he had gone to another specialist before, I waited almost a month for his appointment, I missed my job and he did not have the ethics to attend me, the nurse told me and with a terrible attitude, they made me cry from the despair that I had with how bad I felt, he was not able to even face me but to collect the copy they were very quick, I had never heard a doctor in my life who did not give second opinions, everyone has the right to a second opinion , I do not explain how such a person can be called a doctor
