Doctor and staff very thorough, did not seem rushed

Checking in to your appointment is efficient; you are taken to an exam room and seen very quickly within your appointment time. Doctor and nurses very caring, always listening!

My husband and I are very pleased with your office. We think Dr. Vanderzalm is the best. We are blessed to be his patients.

I’m sure that maybe it was not his intention and he seemed like a nice man but...I have never had a doctor interrupt me so much and then as a result fail to understand what I’m trying to explain.After 20 years of suffering with my condition I have seen plenty of GI doctors, so I know a good one when I meet him.I gave him two stars instead of one because I believe that maybe he didn’t realize he was coming off as rude and dismissive and maybe that was not his intention. Sadly by the time I left I wanted to cry because I did not feel heard. He didn’t actually listen and because of that, he did not understand. He chose to focus on just one detail from the past that is not a contributing factor to the issue I was there for, that is causing me so much misery and effecting my ability to live a normal life. I felt a lack of empathy. I felt he didn’t listen and and he dismissed my experiences.The office staff is kind and helpful but I will never return to that office due to the experience with this doctor.

Dr. Vander Zalm has been an absolutely amazing doctor to work with. He helped diagnose me with a condition that I’ve been suffering from for years with no explanation or relief. He listened to all my needs, my concerns, and took me seriously. He worked with me to make sure my procedures were paid for by me to where I could afford to make monthly payments. I could sob from relief. Martha, his nurse, has been a wonder to work with. She makes herself available for me when needed. She’s gone above and beyond to help me. Rachel saved the day when I needed some documents sent to my claims office to make sure I was taken care of.I’ve never felt so cared for and taken care of.You all have changed my life.

I was early to my apt. and was taken back almost immediately. I thought that the consultation was thorough and felt listened to and that my concerns were addressed. The doctor was very professional and helpful and he took time with me to listen and understand the issues I came in to see him with.
